Chapter 9 Anime Adaptation

Tsukasa's POV

After our acting class, Sakurano and I went outside to discuss what we were going to do for our assignment.

"We need to act out a dialogue together", I started. "Any ideas on what we should do?"

"I think we should do a romantic dialogue", Sakurano replied.

"Excellent idea, Sakurano", I praised. "But, what romantic dialogue should we do? Romeo and Juliet is a very popular one."

"It is", Sakurako agreed. "Which is why many of our classmates will probably end up doing it."

"You're right", I stated. "We should think of something more original."

"Well", Sakurano started. "There is a way we can do Romeo and Juliet, but have it still be original."

"Hmm", I said in confusion. "How would we do that?"

"One of my fellow troupe members at the Phoenix Stage was an anime fan", Sakurano revealed. "Once, she recommended an anime adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, so I decided to give it a watch."

"Did you enjoy it", I asked.

"Yes", Sakurano replied. "While the characters and basic plot points are taken from the original Romeo and Juliet, most of the story is completely original. Therefore, I think we should perform a dialogue taken from a scene from this anime."

"That's actually a really good idea", I said. "That way, we will be performing something that is familiar, but also unique to our classmates."

"Exactly", Sakurano said.

"Now then", I started. "Do you have any suggestions for what scene from this anime should we use for our dialogue?"

"I assume that you've never watched this anime before", Sakurano asked. "Why don't we get together later to watch it?"

After school, Sakurano and I headed back to my apartment so that we could watch the anime.

"I'm home", I called out as we walked into the apartment.

"Welcome home, Tsukasa", Natsu greeted. "Hello, Seiryuuin-San. Tsukusa told me that you would be coming over."

"Thank you so much for letting me into your home, Aoyagi-San", Sakurano said.

"No problem", Natsu replied. "I'll be in my room working on an assignment. You two have fun!"

With that, Natsu went to his room.

"Now then", Sakurano started. "Shall we begin?"

That Night

We had just finished the anime. I was even tearing up a bit.

"What a bittersweet, yet beautiful ending", I said, before turning my head. "So, what scene…"

Before I could finish…I noticed that Sakurano had fallen asleep on my shoulder.

She's asleep. I wonder what I should do?

The Next Morning

Sakurano's POV

I woke up to the smell of food cooking.

I opened my eyes…and found myself in an unfamiliar living room.

"What the hell", I exclaimed before shooting up. "Where am I?!"

"Good morning, Sakurano", I heard a familiar voice greet.

I then turned my head…and saw Tsukasa cooking in the kitchen.

I then took a better look around, and saw that I was in his apartment.

I also realized that I had been sleeping on the couch, and that a blanket had been draped over me.

"Did I…fall asleep here", I asked.

"Yep", Tsukasa replied. "You fell asleep as we were watching the anime."

Tsukasa saying this resulting in me pouting.

"You could've woke me up", I stated.

"There was no point", Tsukasa stated. "By the time the anime was done, it was already quite late. It was safer to just let you sleep here instead of making you walk back to your dorm."

After Tsukasa said this, he put a plate of food on the coffee table in front of me.

"Now", he started. "Hurry up and eat. We don't want to be late for our classes."

I simply huffed at this statement, but picked up the food regardless.

"Thank you", I said softly. "For letting me stay here, and for cooking me breakfast."

"You're welcome", Tsukasa replied.

"So", I started. "Did you enjoy the anime?"

"I did", Tsukasa replied. "And I have an idea on what scene we should use for our dialogue."
