Chapter 23 Fears
Tsukasa's POV

Sakurako and I had arrived at a house, because we were going to be entertainers at a Halloween party that was being held there.

"Is this the right place", I asked.

"Seems like it", Sakurako replied as she double checked the address on her phone.

"Excellent", I said. "Then let us head inside!"

With that, we walked into the house, and when we did…I saw a truly terrible sight.

The halls of the house were covered in…spiders! Seeing all of them made me go pale.

"Tsukasa", Sakurako started when she noticed my expression. "Is something the matter?"

"Why are there so many spiders", I breathed out.

"Well", Sakurako started. "Spiders are a very common Halloween decoration."

"Right", I breathed out. "I forgot about that."

"Tsukasa", Sakurako started. "Are you…afraid of spiders?"

My response to this was a nervous scoff.

"What", I asked. "Me? Afraid of spiders? Of course not! I am Tenma Tsukasa; the world's future number one star! I am not afraid of anything!"

As soon as I said this…a hanging spider decoration fell right in front me!

This resulted in me screaming before jumping in back in shock.

I then looked at Sakurako, who was crossing her arms and giving me a deadpanned look.

"That…", I started nervously. "That decoration came out of nowhere! I wasn't scared! I was simply startled!"

"Sure", Sakurako said. "Come on. Let's go find the one's who organized this party."

With that, Sakurako walked deeper into the house.

I was about to follow her…when I heard a frightened whimper.

I looked around…before spotting a child hiding under the staircase.

I went to the staircase before kneeling down besides them.

"Hi there", I greeted softly.

"Hi", the child said softly.

"Why are you hiding under there", I asked.

"I'm hiding from my classmates", the child replied.

"Why are you hiding from them", I asked.

"Because they're mean to me", the child replied. "They call me a scaredy-cat."

"I see", I said. "Then why did you come to this party?"

"Because I wanted to prove to my classmates that I'm not a scaredy-cat", the child replied. "But now that I'm actually here, I don't think I can do it. There's too many scary things here; like spiders."

"I see", I said, before an idea came to mind. "You know, I'm afraid of spiders too."

"Really", the child asked. "But, you're an adult. I thought adults weren't afraid of anything?"

"That's not true", I revealed. "Adults are afraid of many things. I just think that, when you get older, you realize that there are more important things than your fears."

"More important things", the child repeated. "Like what?"

"Let me think", I started, before something came to mind. "I know! There's a friend of mine who used to be afraid of performing on stage, but she also wanted to put on shows that could make people smile. So, she managed to conquer her fear, and now she performs on stage all the time."

"Really", the child asked.

"Yes", I replied. "If something is important to you, then you won't let your fear get in your way."

After I said this, the child began thinking.

Then…he suddenly crawled out from under the staircase.

"Okay", he said with a look of determination on his face. "I'm gonna prove my classmates wrong!"

After the child said this, he looked up and gave me a smile.

"Thank you so much, mister", he said.

"You're very welcome, child", I replied. "Now, go forth and prove your classmates wrong!"
