Chapter 29 Celebrations
Toya's POV
"Saki, will you marry me?"
After I asked this, Saki looked at me in surprise.
"H…huh", she exclaimed. "Toya-Kun, did you just ask me to marry you?!"
"Yes", I replied. "You did just say that you wanted to get married."
"I did", Saki said. "But, you don't need to feel like you now have to ask me to marry you because of that!"
After Saki said this, I suddenly grabbed onto her hands and looked directly into her eyes.
"Saki", I started. "I'm not asking you to marry me because I feel like I have to. I'm asking you to marry me because I want to. Because I want to stay with you forever. Until death due us part."
After I said this, Saki started becoming emotional.
"Toya-Kun", she breathed out.
Then…a smile came to her face.
"I want to be with you forever too", she said.
"Then", I started. "In that case, I will ask you again."
With that…I got down on one knee as I continued to hold onto Saki's hands.
"Tenma Saki", I started. "Will you marry me?"
After I asked this…a huge smile appeared on Saki's face.
"Yes", she replied. "I'll marry you, Toya!"
…
The rest of the day was filled with events to celebrate Akito and An's marriage.
First, there was the formal reception. Afterwards, a more casual after party for mostly friends and some family was held at Weekend Garage.
Then, once that was over, Meiko invited us to come to Sekai.
Once we arrived, we walked into the Crase Café, and as soon as we did, flower petals were suddenly thrown over us!
"An, Akito", we heard Meiko say. "Congratulations on your marriage!"
"Congratulations on your marriage", the rest of the Virtual Singers exclaimed.
Then, we looked around the café, and saw that it had been decked out with decorations and snacks.
"Wow", An said in awe. "Thank you so much, everyone!"
"Yeah", Akito agreed. "Thank you so much, everyone."
"You're very welcome, An and Akito", Meiko said. "Now then, let's begin the celebration!"
…
As the party was underway, Akito suddenly spoke to me.
"Hey, Toya", he started. "Did something happen?"
"Why do you ask that", I asked.
"Well", Akito started. "I've noticed that you've seemed kinda lost in thought ever since the ceremony ended."
"I noticed that too", An revealed.
"Is everything okay, Aoyagi-Kun", Kohane asked in concern.
"Everything is alright", I replied. "In fact, I've been lost in thought because something wonderful happened?"
"Really", Akito asked. "What happened?"
"After the ceremony", I started. "Saki told me that it made her realize that she would also like to get married. So…I asked her to marry me."
When I revealed this, everybody looked at me in surprise.
"Aoyagi-Kun", Kohane started. "You're marrying Saki-Chan?"
"Yes", I replied.
"That's amazing, Toya", An exclaimed. "Congratulations!"
"Yeah", Akito said, before putting his arm around my shoulder. "I'm happy for you dude."
"Well then", Meiko started. "In that case, this is no longer just a party to celebrate An and Akito's marriage, but now, it is also a party to celebrate Toya's engagement!"
With that, Meiko picked up a glass and held it up.
"To An and Akito's marriage", she said. "And to Toya's engagement! Cheers!"
"Cheers", everybody exclaimed.
Being surrounded by my friends as they celebrated my engagement made me happy. But…it also made me a bit sad.
I'm going to miss everyone when they move to New York.
