Chapter 33 Telling Our Parents
Saki's POV

I was in my room, nervously making sure my outfit looked nice.

I suggested to my parents that they invited the Aoyagi's over for dinner. However, I didn't tell them the true reason why I suggested it.

"They're here, Saki", I heard my mom call out.

"Coming", I called back.

Then, I took a deep breath, before going downstairs.

When I got there, I saw my parents chatting with Toya and his parents.

"Hello, Mr and Mrs Aoyagi", I greeted with a bow.

"Hello, Saki dear", Toya's mom greeted, before giving me a hug. "It's so good to see you again."

"Alright then", my mom started. "Now that we're all here, shall we begin eating?"

"Actually mom", I started. "Before we have dinner, there's actually another reason why I suggested that we invite Toya and his parents over for dinner."

"Really", my dad asked. "And what is that?"

After this, I walked up to Toya and took his hand in mine.

"Toya and I have an announcement", I revealed. "We…are getting married!"

When I said this, our parents had the biggest look of surprises on their faces.

"Wait, what", my dad exclaimed.

"You're getting married", my mom asked.

"Yes, Mrs Tenma", Toya replied. "We are."

"But, why", Toya's mom asked.

"After Toya's group mates got married, it made me realize that I want to get married too", I revealed.

"Saki", my mom started sternly. "You can't just get married because you saw some friends do it!"

"She's right", Toya's mom agreed. "Plus, you're both so young. Are you sure that you're ready to take such a big step?"

"We understand your concerns", Toya started. "But Saki and I love each other, and we want to be together forever. That is why we're getting married."

"There is more to marriage than just loving someone, Toya", Toya's dad stated. "Marriage also comes with responsibilities. Are you sure that you are ready for those responsibilities?"

"I…", Toya started as he began to think. "I…"

Hearing this made me worry that Toya was going to change his mind. But then…a look of determination suddenly came to his face.

"No", he replied. "I'm not one hundred percent sure if I'm ready for the responsibilities of marriage. Just like my group wasn't one hundred percent sure if we were truly ready to surpass RAD WEEKEND. But, it was something we wanted more than anything, so we did it anyway, and we succeeded."

After Toya said this, he sat down on his knees and looked our parents straight in the eye.

"I know that I want to be with Saki forever", he said. "So, I'm going to go for it. I'm going to give it my best to make sure our marriage succeeds."

"Toya-Kun", I said softly.

Then, with newfound determination, I also sat down on my knees before looking our parents straight in the eye.

"He's right", I agreed. "We may not know if we're truly ready for this, but we do know that we want to be together forever! So, we're going to try!"

"Very well", Toya's dad said. "If that is how you both feel, then I won't stop you."

"Dear, are you sure", Toya's mom asked.

"There's no point in arguing with Toya", Toya's dad stated. "If he has his heart set on something, he's going to do it no matter what you tell him. I think it's best that we just accept the fact that they're going to get married."

"Dad", Toya said in shock, before a small smile came to his face. "Thank you."

"Well", Toya's mom started. "If your father is okay with it, then I am too."

"Thank you, Mrs Aoyagi", I said.

Then, I turned to look at my parents.

"Mom, dad", I started. "Please?"

"Mr and Mrs Tenma", Toya started, before bowing down. "I promise that I'll take care of your daughter, so please allow me to marry her!"

After Toya said this, my parents looked at each other, before sighing in defeat.

"Seems like you've both made up your minds", my dad stated.

"Yes", my mom agreed. "Plus, Toya is such a sweet boy, so I know that he'll take care of our little girl!"

After my mom said this, both her and my dad smiled.

"Toya, You have our blessing", my dad said, before bowing. "Please look after our daughter."

After this, huge smiles came both to me and Toya's faces.

"Yay", I exclaimed, before getting up and hugging both of my parents. "Mom, dad, thank you so much!"

"You're welcome, honey", my mom said.

Then, she pulled away from my embrace before clasping her hands together.

"Alright then", she started, before getting off of the couch. "Not that we've discussed that, we can finally have dinner, which will now be to celebrate Saki and Toya's engagement!"

With that, our parents began making their way to the dinner table.

I looked at Toya, and smiled at him.

He smiled back, before grabbing onto my hand.

Then, hand in hand, we walked up to the dinner table, and celebrated our engagement with our parents.
