It's not exactly how it happened, but it's really close. I used the video game for Young Justice for her actual death, but sense it's a video game, I had to change a few things about the circumstances. Hope you like it, please review.

"Guys?" Tula said weakly, and Mallory and Zatanna looked down at her in relief.

"Welcome back," Zatanna said.

"What happened?" the Atlantean asked, looking around.

"Klarion used you for some sort of ritual," Mallory said.

Tula snapped awake, sitting up and looking at the pool. "NO!" she said, but it was no use. A dark figure rose from under the water. The goddess was deep green, big, and muscular, with a wingspan that was about twice the length of her body and scales covering her from head to toe.

"Tiamat," Tula breathed, horror on her face.

"Tula, what happened? Why did they need you?" Mallory asked.

"They needed my mystic energy to awaken her," Tula replied.

"Why does Klarion need her?" Zatanna asked.

"I do not know, but we need to hurry. We need the tablets to return her to the depths where she belongs," Tula said, looking for them.

"They were right there," Mallory said, pointing to the spot they had been, but they were no longer there. As a matter of fact, neither was Klarion, or Black Manta, or Sportsmaster. The team was fighting Manta's minions.

"Is there a way to stop her without the tablets?" Wally asked, running over.

"I do not know. I suppose we could try the direct approach," Tula said.

Wally grinned. "We missed you," he said, then ran towards the monster with no hesitation.

"Kid! Stop!" Tula yelled, but too late. The monster flicked her wrist, and Wally went flying towards a pillar. Mallory flew up quickly, cutting the flames right before they collided, breaking his fall. They got up and the team regrouped at the edge of the pool.

"Brute force won't do any good against it," Tula told them.

"Well, what will?" Artemis asked.

"Magic. That's the only thing that could work against her now that the tablets are gone."

The team looked at Zatanna, and she nodded. "Etativel," she said, and she levitated up to be eye level with Tiamat. She started chanting, Mallory couldn't hear the words, and she sent a stream of energy into the monster. It fell to the pool and started walking towards the team.

"Z, what did you do?" Robin asked.

"I was trying to freeze it, but I think I just kept it from flying," she said.

Tula stood wordlessly and stepped into the pool. "Aquagirl!" Artemis yelled, but she ignored her and sent her magic at the beast. It shrieked and reared its head, and eventually fell to the bottom of the pool. Tula scrambled out of the water to rejoin the team.

"How did you do that?" Zatanna asked.

Tula shrugged weakly. "I do not know. Perhaps it is because it was my magic that freed her, it had to be my magic that sent her back to the depths."

"I don't understand," Zatanna said, looking at the pool, her forehead creased in confusion. "In the legend of Marduk and Tiamat, Marduk was only able to trap her by sacrificing himself. How could you have defeated her so easily?"

"Well, I wouldn't call that easy," Wally said, grinning. "Hey, be happy, we won." He slung an arm around Artemis's shoulder, and Conner scooped Rocket up bridal style. "I guess we can go home now," the clone said.

The team started walking to the mouth of the cave when the ground beneath their feet started to shake.

"Please tell me that was an earthquake," Mallory said.

Zatanna looked back at the pool and shook her head. "No such luck," she said grimly.

Tiamat jumped out of the water, looking even angrier than she had the first time. The team looked at each other fearfully.

"How are we going to stop her?" Artemis asked.

Tula glanced at the team. "My magic was useful before. I will try to hold her back." She jumped into the pool and raised her arms, using the water in the pool to fuel her magic. She sent it to Tiamat, and the goddess shrieked in pain again.

"I will maintain this as long as I can. As long as I must. You must leave, get out of here," she said, and she pushed even more energy at the creature, a look of determination on her face.

Mallory exchanged looks with her friends. They all knew what she was planning on doing.

"Aquagirl, what are you doing?" Robin asked, stepping closer to the edge of the pool. She didn't answer, just pushed more energy. "Tula, stop!" he yelled, and the rest of the team ran to the edge.

"Tula, we can find another way!" Mallory yelled, and Zatanna said, "Please, Tula, just give me a minute, I'll try to come up with a spell to stop her!"

"No, just as Marduk had to sacrifice himself to trap Tiamat, so must I," she said.

"No, Tula! You can't!" Robin yelled.

She looked over her shoulder at them, saw their panicked faces as they tried to find a way to save her. "It is the only way," she said firmly. Her voice and face softened, and she said, "Goodbye, my friends." They saw the tears pooling in her eyes, their own tears streaming down their cheeks as they watched their friend prepare to give up her life for them. "Tell Garth," she said, her voice breaking as the tears flowed down her cheeks, no longer containable. She cleared her throat. "Tell Garth I love him."

"We will," Mallory assured her, barely able to get the words out.

Tula nodded to her solemnly and turned back to the monster, giving the last of her energy to the fight. The team started backing away, but Robin didn't move. Mallory and Wally went to his side.

"Come on, Man. There's nothing we can do for her now. We have to go," Wally yelled over the noise Tiamat was making. Robin took one hesitant step backwards, and the ceiling of the temple started coming down. Mallory shot fire out of her feet and pushed the boys clear. They sat up and looked back at the pile of rubble.

Zatanna was crying softly, sitting on the cold ground, staring at where their friend had given her life. Artemis had her fists clenched, her eyes shut tight. Mallory, Wally, and Robin just stared at the pile in shock, not knowing what to do. Garth, Kaldur, and Megan came running in. Megan knelt with Beast Boy, who was silently crying with Zatanna, and Kaldur hesitated at the doorway. Garth ran to Robin.

"Where is she?" he asked, his voice fearful.

Robin looked at the rubble-covered pool, and they saw her arm poking out of the rocks. Mallory put a hand to her mouth to stop the whimper that came out at seeing the lifeless arm. Wally wrapped her in a hug, and she held on tight, not wanting any of this to be real. Kaldur and Garth uncovered Tula's body, and Garth pulled her to a sitting position, holding her tight.

"Tula," he said quietly, staring at her face, pain written on his own. Robin walked over to him with heavy steps and laid a hand on his shoulder.

"She sacrificed herself to save us. To save the world. I'm so sorry, Garth." He turned away, looking at Kaldur as he put a hand to his ear. "Team to League. We've eliminated the threat, but…" he couldn't finish the sentence.

A few minutes later, the Justice League came in and saw the team broken. Most of them were huddled together, holding on to each other, but not saying anything, not even really looking at each other, just staring into space. Kaldur stood a little apart, staring at the pile on rubble, a pained expression on his face, and Garth sat next the the pile, still holding Tula's lifeless body in his arms as he quietly wept for his dead girlfriend.

Ya'll, I want some reviews, this is a pretty big chapter, so tell me what you think about it.
