Chapter 42 I'd Wait a Thousand Years
Ichika's POV
The wedding ceremony was over. Saki and Toya were now married!
In the reception area, Saki's father got everyone's attention by tapping on the mic.
"Can I have everybody's attention, please", he asked. "To celebrate my daughter's marriage, my son Tsukasa will be putting on a very special performance with his girlfriend, who is also one of my daughter's best friends!"
With that, everybody cheered as Tsukasa and I walked onto the stage area.
He then sat down at the piano, while I picked up an acoustic guitar.
Afterwards, we looked at each other, and nodded.
Then, we began playing our song, which was an alternate version of the song we wrote for Tsukasa's birthday.
After he played the intro to the song on the piano, I began playing my guitar, and also began singing.

We then looked at each other, and both smiled.

The reception had ended, and I was waiting in the lobby of the wedding venue.
"There you are, my love", Tsukasa said before sitting down next to me. "What are you doing here?"
"I was just…thinking about something", I revealed.
"Thinking about what", Tsukasa asked.
"Thinking about…", I started. "…when Saki was talking about the two of us getting married earlier."
After I said this, Tsukasa smiled at me.
"Is that so", he asked.
"Yes", I replied. "Hearing about it…made me happy."
"It did", Tsukasa asked hopefully.
"Yes", I replied, suddenly getting nervous. "Because…because…"
After I said this, I turned to face Tsukasa.
"Because…", I started. "I want to marry you someday, Tsukasa!"
After I said this, Tsukasa was grinning from ear to ear.
Then, he grabbed onto both of my hands, and looked me seriously.
"Ichika", he started. "As soon as I'm done with studying in America, I'll come back and marry you!"
"You…will", I asked in shock.
"Of course", Tsukasa exclaimed. "I promise!"
With that, Tsukasa held up one of my hands, which was the one I was wearing the ring he gave me one.
Then, he brought this hand to his lips, and kissed it.
"So please", he started. "Wait for me until then, Ichika."
After Tsukasa said this, I looked at him in shock.
Then…I smiled at him.
"Of course I'll wait for you Tsukasa", I replied. "I'd wait a thousand years for you."
