Chapter 50 Look After Her

Akito's POV

The Day After An's birthday

I walked into Weekend Garage, and found Ken.

"Hey, Ken-San", I greeted. "Is An here?"

"She's out with Kohane", Ken revealed.

"That's good, actually", I revealed, before suddenly getting nervous. "Because I wanted to discuss something with you without An around."

"Really", Ken asked. "What is it?"

With that, I took a deep breath…before saying this.

"Ken-San", I started. "I…I…I want to marry your daughter! So please give me permission do so!"

After I said this, I bowed down.

"Huh", Ken said in confusion. "You want to marry An?"

"Yes", I replied. "Yesterday, she asked me if I was gonna leave her after we put on Vivid NIGHT. It made me realize that…I want to stay with An forever! So, please let me marry her!"

After I said this, I waited for Ken's answer.

I expected him to say no, but a moment later…I felt him put his hands on my shoulders.

I looked up at him…and saw that he was smiling.

"Yes", he replied. "You may marry my daughter."

"Really", I asked in shock. "Are you sure?"

"Akito", Ken started. "Do you love An?"

"I do", I replied. "With all my heart!"

"Well then", Ken started. "That's good enough for me."

After I heard this, I grinned from ear to ear.

"Thank you so much, Ken-San", I said.

"Just make sure you look after An for me", Ken instructed.

"I will", I stated. "I promise."

The Day before Vivid NIGHT

An and I were visiting Nagi in the hospital.

"I'm going to the bathroom", the former said before getting up. "I'll be right back."

With that, An left.

"Akito", Nagi started. "Here."

With that, Nagi held out something.

It was…a small jewelry box.

"What's that", I asked.

"Open it and find out", Nagi instructed.

Then, I took the box from her and opened it.

When I did…I found a gold ring with a sunflower on it.

"This is my wedding ring", Nagi revealed. "I want you to propose to An with it."

"What", I said in shock. "How did you know about that?"

"Ken told me", Nagi revealed.

Then…I looked down at the ring.

"Are you sure, Nagi-San", I asked.

"Yes", Nagi replied. "I'm not going to be around to see An's future. But with this, I'll be able to be a part of it in some way."

After Nagi said this, I looked at the ring one more time.

Then, I closed the ring box before holding it tightly in my hand.

"Thank you, Nagi-San", I said.

"Akito", Nagi started. "Can you promise me something?"

"Of course", I replied. "What is it?"

"I love An like she's my own daughter", Nagi revealed. "Promise me that you'll look after her?"

After Nagi said this, I looked at her in shock.

Then…I looked at her with determination.

"I promise, Nagi-San", I replied. "I'll look after An."
