Chapter 58 Sakura Rain
Ichika's POV
My friends and I walked into a classroom in Sekai. When we got there, we found that the Virtual Singers were decorating it.
"Welcome girls", Meiko greeted.
"Hello, Meiko-San", Honami greeted.
"What are you guys decorating for", Shiho asked.
"We're getting ready for our graduation ceremony", Rin revealed excitedly.
"Huh", Saki exclaimed in shock. "You guys are graduating too?!"
After Saki said this, she suddenly became sad.
"Does that mean…we're not going to see you anymore?"
"Saki", Luka started.
Then, she grabbed onto Saki's hands.
"There's nothing to worry about", she reassured. "We'll be here for you girls for as long as you need us."
"Really", Saki asked.
"Yes", Miku replied. "Now then. Speaking of graduation ceremonies. Isn't your girls' one tomorrow? I thought you would be at home resting."
"Yes", Kaito agreed. "Plus, didn't you say that you would be performing at the ceremony?"
"Actually", I started. "That's why we're here. We wanted to perform the song we're going to perform at the ceremony with Miku."
"With me", Miku asked.
"Yes", I replied. "What do you say, Miku?"
After I asked this, Miku smiled.
"Of course", she replied. "Let's sing together."
The Next Day
It was the day of our graduation ceremony, and we were in the courtyard waiting for it to begin.
"I can't believe that we're finally here", Saki said excitedly.
"I can't believe that we're about to graduate high school", I added.
"A lot happened while we were here", Honami pointed out.
"Right", I agreed. "Not long after High School started, Saki was released from the hospital."
"Yeah", Saki agreed. "And then we formed our band!"
"And after a while, we managed to go pro", Shiho added.
"And Saki-Chan even got married", Honami added. "And she's going to have a baby!"
"We made so many wonderful memories", I said.
"And we'll continue to make many more wonderful memories", Saki added. "Together!"
"Right", Honami said. "Together."
"Together", Shiho said.
"Together", I said.
"Forever", Saki exclaimed.
"Attention graduating students", we heard a teacher yell. "Please begin making your way into the auditorium."
"This is it", Saki exclaimed.
Then…she grabbed onto our hands.
"Come on, girls", she said. "Let's go graduate!"
…
The ceremony had just ended, and the principal was on stage.
"Congratulations to our graduating students", they said. "Now then, to close out our ceremony, we have a very special performance for you. From a band made up of our very own students, please give it up for, Leo/need!"
With that, everybody cheered as Leo/need walked onto the stage.
"Thank you so much everyone", I said. "During our time here, we met so many wonderful friends, and made so many wonderful memories. So, before we say goodbye, please let us sing this one last song for you."
With this, everyone cheered once more.
Then…we began our performance.
Saki
Wherever our journeys may lead
We'll still be friends
It goes without saying, right?
Honami
Those glory days, no two of us alike
Give us confidence, push us forward
Me
The track where we kicked up dust
The buttoned up uniforms we wore loose
Shiho
The graffiti we wrote on the desks
All proof we made our mark
Honami
We shed a tear for every memory
Saki
That can't be relived in a graduation speech
Shiho
The wounds inflicted by our youth
Me
But maybe now we've grown up
All
Through the classroom window, sakura rain
Honami
Landing softly on my palm
Saki
Drawn to my heart
All
Let's take the bouquet we all made together
Shiho
And set it free into the sky
Me
Don't forget
Right now...
Each of us might be a single, small petal
All
But we're not alone
Shiho
Out of all the countless schools
Honami
The miracle is that we met each other
Saki
Those sweet smiles will never change
Me
No matter how many years pass
All
Through the classroom window, sakura rain
Shiho
Landing softly on my palm
Honami
Drawn to my heart
All
Let's take the bouquet we all made together
Saki
And set it free into the sky
Me
Don't forget
Right now...
Each of us might be a single, small petal
All
But we're not alone
Someday...
We'll bloom, petals spreading wide
Me
And meet here again
