-Story Start!-
"Hrgh" Gaara, landing flat on his back, glances to his side with a pained groan. Upon noticing the twitching blonde, who has so stubbornly refused to die. He panics.
"I have to prove my existence, I can't let it fade away. I NEED to kill her." He voices aloud in a manic mantra as he attempts to move. But, alas. He is completely depleted of chakra and at his complete limit.
Naruko's state of being is not far off from Gaara's own.
"Hrgh" Naruko let's out a pained groan herself, as pain courses through her entire body, she forces open her eyes with all the willpower left in her. She still has to save Sakura-chan, after all.
She glances forwards with narrowed eyes. Noticing the unmoving and glaring Gaara. But to Gaara's own surprise. Naruko, in a feat of pure force of will and determination. Despite all the unimaginable pain and burden on her body, begins to crawl like a worm with her chin towards Gaara. His eyes widen at the absolutely insane dedication of killing? him.
"S-Stop! Don't get close!" Gaara yells out at the wormlike blonde. He attempts to move himself but it seems the blonde's tenacity and stamina is greatly than his own. No choice in the matter. Gaara only glares in bewilderment and rage at the blonde, a speck of fear deeply hidden in his psyche.
*Tsk* Naruko clicks her tongue, as suddenly she meets the boys eyes with her brilliant sapphire eyes. An expression of empathy and pity on her face, tear quickly forming on her eyes as she continues to crawl towards Gaara.
"What are yo-" Gaara's eyes widen at the expression, it being eerily similar to the expression given to him by Yashamaru in the past. An expression her came to loath, but deep down, desperately crave. As he voices his confusion at such an expression being directed at him. Naruko interrupts him.
"I know, it must have been painful to be all alone right? I don't know how. But I understand you completely. it's... unbearable. The villagers never acknowledged my existence, I hated them for it. I was treated like dirt, a monster. But... I've found my precious people. People who acknowledge who I am for who and what I am. People who love me and I can count on! I'm no longer alone, I have my friends! And... if you hurt my precious friends... I won't hesitate in killing you if I have to!" Naruko, states with empathy, crying at both her and Gaara's shared pain. However, upon remembering who she is facing and her role as protector. She promptly ends her crying, a determined and dangerous look on her face as her eyes slit like a predator's, killing intent directed at Gaara. Who is unfazed by such measly killing intent. But what does affect him, was Naruko's determination and strength.
'She, who is similar to me. She's this strong, because of love?' Gaara's eyes widen upon reaching an epiphany of the source of Naruko's strength. His eyes glaze as he remembers Yashamaru's words on the power and strength love brings to Shinobi.
Unbeknownst to them, an Animal was eavesdropping on their rather deep? conversation. Said animal having shrunk back to it's original size following it's furious rant to the bird. The animal, sitting on a nearby tree, observing the Talk No Jutsu at work during it's initial stages.
"So that's the fabled Talk No Jutsu? Impressive I'll admit, even I was a bit moved. That only speaks volumes on the kid's budding charisma. But... it seems a bit awkward without the accompanying sad music, the show was known for dropping it in every slightly emotional moment." The animal analyzes to himself, impressed. Only slightly disappointed at the lack of the classic sad Naruto OST that was usually vital in such moments.
'Hmm, after this it's the Tsunade arc... I think? How should I play my role in all of this? Should I roleplay? That does sound fun... But the real question... To follow canon or not to follow canon? That is the question of every single OC Self insert. Luckily for me, I ain't any of those. I just came here on a happy accident is all! Still, it's a question I must ask nonetheless... Ah... What a pain, it's at times like these I'm grateful that most worlds I travel to, I'm completely unfamiliar with them. Allowing me free reign to do whatever the fuck I want without worry! Nevertheless, I must take care, this seems to be an AU, judging by the Female Naruto. Other changes I'm completely unaware of may also exist. Will have to note everything!' The animal was contemplating future events and how he should play his role in all of those. Should he let things flow without his interference? Will they flow the same even with or without his interference? All valid questions he is currently contemplating and failing at reaching a conclusive and final answer. His scaly face and expression twisted in pure effort. And pain, lots of pain.
As the Animal was questioning the meaning of his life in this world, Naruko continued her rather impressive and tenacious crawl towards the immobile sad sand boy. But she is stopped by the hand of her dear teammate. Sasuke Uchiha.
"That's enough, Naruko." Sasuke stops Naruko, as he calms her down with his relaxed and slightly struggling tone of voice. Despite him having calmed down, he is still burdened by the pain coursing through his body and curse mark.
"S-Sasuke?" Naruko stops her little crawl and lifts her eyes to meet the obsidian ones of Sasuke.
"Sakura's fine. That guy's out of chakra himself, the sand holding her has crumbled. She'll be alright." Sasuke responds to Naruko's unvoiced question with a nod and thorough explanation.
These news, allow Naruko to let out a sigh of relief she has been dying to exhale.
"That's go-od..." Naruko, trusting in her teammate, coupled with her having reached her utmost limit voices out one final sentence, if even. The girl proceeds to appropriately fall unconscious with a satisfied and peaceful smile on her face. Her job done and her words followed up with actual results. Dattebayo.
With that, Sasuke glares at the unmoving and listless Gaara, only to have his eyes invaded by the sand siblings. Kankuro and Temari quickly arrive at Gaara's side. Kankuro's expression shocked at Gaara being in such a weakened and defeated state.
Before any altercation can take place, Gaara, in a change of character, puts an end to the fighting.
"I've had enough. Temari, Kankuro, Let's go." Gaara states exhaustingly, causing the trepid siblings to transition from their defensive position, guarding the Red head to bewildered looks directed at him. Kankuro responds first as the elder and usually more composed sibling .
"A-Alright Gaara, l-let's go..." He hesitates as he slowly lifts the absentminded boy who seems to either be deep in though or empty of mind.
"We're done here!" Kankuro yells as he gets into position, meeting the Uchiha's narrowed and faux confident look with his serious look. Keenly aware that the Uchiha is running on empty gas right now.
"Hn" The Uchiha hesitates for a moment but let's the enemy go with a nod and Classic grunt. Well aware he cannot do anything as he has to defend both unconscious teammates right now.
The sand siblings jump into motion leaving the Uchiha alone with the unconscious blonde.
"Hah..." *BAM* Sasuke let's out a sigh of relief, dropping to the ground in exhaustion, fighting the urge to fall unconscious himself. But he has dealt with worse before. He won't lose vigilance over something so trivial.
'Have to wait until backup comes. Wouldn't kill Kakashi to get on time for once...' Sasuke thought to himself in dry humor, trying to keep himself awake with reminders of his assigned duty and with his beloved dry humor.
"All's well that ends well! Right broody?" A sudden jolly tone of voice comes from behind Sasuke, scaring him.
*GASP* He gasps at the suddenness, turning his head to glare daggers at the... Animal that appeared from the light Naruko created.
'I didn't even hear him... No chakra, Expansion ability... Whatever this animal is. It's dangerous...' Sasuke thought to himself as he carefully positioned himself to be in front of Naruko, blocking direct access to her by the Animal. Glaring in suspicion at the Animal.
"Hold up! No need to be so stiff broody! Standing guard in front of the blondie like some mother hen! I'm an ally remember? You know, saved your hides from that big scary sand tanuki?" The animal attempts to placate and rectify Sasuke's apparent ungrounded suspicions and wariness. A pacifying and calm smile on the Animal's scaly face. Hand paw thing's held up in "surrender".
At that, Sasuke's eye's narrow to further glare at the Scaly rascal.
"You are still an unknown, Naruko signed a summoning contract with the toads, and yet you appeared. A good deal of animal clans are dangerous when your not contracted to them." Sasuke barely elaborates and simply states with a sharp tone.
"Bah! You ninjas and your paranoia! How'll you get married when you'll be eternally worried your partner's gonna one day stab you in the dick or something? Paranoia is all well and good in your profession, I get that. Truly. But sometimes it gets excessive. Someone's saved your life. at the very least a guy should get a modicum of trust, no?" The Animal mocks Sasuke, with a wave of his hand paw thing, stating the first of many vulgar statements and or concepts that are abundant in the Filthy Creature's vocabulary. Giving Sasuke a lecture about Ninja's trust issues. A lecture Sasuke never asked for.
Sasuke, smartly, narrows his eyes further in disgust and disrespect at the Animal. Intelligently deciding to not dignify the creature with any sort of response. Staying in the same position as they were before.
"Ah... Fine! I'll be back later!" The animal states in loss of patience, disappearing without a sound, a trace. Anything really. As if he was never dream and his existence was a figment of Sasuke's imagination. So sudden and strange the disappearance was. Sasuke questioned his own sanity, blinking a few times to make sure the Animal truly is no longer there.
A few minutes of peace and quiet pass, to Sasuke's misfortune. Fighting the urge to fall asleep right then and there. Luckily though...
"Maah, You look great Sasuke!" Another source of annoyance, but in this case a source of relief appeared in front of Sasuke's eyes.
"C-Couldn't you have come any later Kakashi-sensei?" Sasuke questioned sarcastically with a pained and relieved grunt.
"Sorry, sorry! I was just crossing the road and for some reason a few Sand Jonin wanted to fight. I of course, accepted for the Honor of the village! But after dealing with them I came here as fast as I could!" Kakashi responded to Sasuke's sarcasm with his own flavor of realistic humor. Internally happy that Sasuke was in the state of being to be his usual snarky self.
"I'm glad your alright." Kakashi states with warmth and an eye smile, patting the Uchiha's head. Sasuke, usually rejects such weak gestures. However, he is too tired to react.
"Sakura's alright?" Kakashi questions gently at the groggy Uchiha, seconds away from falling unconscious himself.
"Yeah, The mutt's with - her..." Sasuke responds tiredly, falling unconscious, only to be caught gently by Kakashi before his face kissed the ground.
'I'll have to ask Pakkun about the situation that happened here' Kakashi thought to himself as he lifted both his students on each of his shoulders, to carry them like the sandbags they are.
Moving towards Sakura's location, Kakashi arrives to meet Pakkun standing guard, rather uselessly but still heartwarmingly over Sakura.
"Great job Pakkun. Thanks for the help" Kakashi immediately thanks Pakkun. with a nod as he arrives to check on Sakura who's laying on the thick tree branch.
"It's fine. But you've been summoning me to deal with too many troublesome situations lately. I expect compensation Kakashi." Pakkun waves off Kakashi's thanks, in favor of narrowing his eyes at the masked Shinobi at getting him to deal with so many troublesome situations.
"Maah, Maah, I'll buy you some snacks later alright? Besides that, what happened here? Did they defeat Gaara? And what was that light?" Kakashi rolls his eyes and states what Pakkun was hoping to hear. Continuing his dialogue with questioning Pakkun on the happenings here.
"Yes, they did defeat Gaara, he escaped by being taken by his siblings, The light originated from a failed? Summoning jutsu of Naruko." Pakkun summarized in short the events that happened here.
"Failed summoning jutsu? A failure wouldn't result in such a bright pillar of light. Usually a failure, in Naruko's case, would be overloading the jutsu with chakra and it would, at most - cause a minor explosion." Kakashi analyzes the information and expresses his confusion to Pakkun.
"No, it was not failed per say. But, he summoned something else entirely different than what he signed a summoning contract with. He's signed with the toads of Mount Myoboko like Jiraya. But, what he summoned, I'm speculating, created said light with it's arrival. The summoned Animal being a winged serpent. Something I've never seen before. Nothing similar was seen in neither the Snake Clan nor the Serpent clan. Unless they are keeping secrets..." Pakkun further explained the events that happened, specifically elaborating on the unknown clan animal summoned by Naruko. Speculating on it's identity and not arriving at something concrete just yet.
"And what are it's capabilities?" Kakashi asked professionally, having quickly digested Pakkun's info and moving on to further question the mutt.
"It was capable of using the Akimichi's expansion jutsu. Or a variant of it. Growing to the size of Shukaku itself. Once it did, it was able to match Shukaku and come out of it's attacks completely unscathed." Pakkun explained with amazement and wonder. At the Animal's capabilities.
"Shukaku emerged?! And the creature was on par with a Tailed Beast?" Kakashi repeated in shock, the conclusions he formed himself.
"I wouldn't be sure to say on par, Shukaku was only freshly emerged from it's host. It's full power not having been reached completely. Though, it's safer to assume as such." Pakkun elaborated further.
"And where is this apparent creature and possible threat?" Kakashi questioned with narrowed eyes. A grim and worried look on his face.
"I-I don't know... Sorry, Kakashi, I tried to get a signature of it's smell. But it doesn't even have a smell. I wouldn't be overly anxious about it. it had a... Ridiculous personality. But most importantly it helped us." Pakkun lowered his head in apology, unable to find said missing creature, reassuring Kakashi that it might be friendly. Judging by the evidence of it's actions and... eccentric personality.
'What do you mean I have no smell? I use Grade A Dragon Cologne! Top of the line fragrance! ... Not sponsored! ... What? You thought I was truly gone? I just went invisible silly! Any whom... Holy shit! it's Kakashi! If I weren't straight I'd be drooling!' The animal revealed it's presence to the audience only, as he silently eavesdropped on the dog and summoner conversation. Opting to follow Naruko wherever she ends up. "Operation: "Follow Main Character" is a go!" was what rang aloud in the deranged Animal's mind at this point in time.
"Maah. Alright, I'll be taking these three back to the village for a medical checkup, you can go now. Thanks for the hard work." Kakashi placed a hand on his head in attempt to subdue the migraine he is currently experiencing, to no avail. Thanking Pakkun for his efforts and letting him go.
"Is the invasion over? what's the damage" Pakkun asks the obvious question before going back.
"It's not pretty, but not as bad as it could of been... However, Lord Third has passed away." Kakashi explains solemnly, a pained frown visible under his mask. Head lowered slightly.
At that, Pakkun goes silent and lowers his head as well. *POOF* He, wordlessly goes back to his home. At the sad note.
Kakashi prepares silently to carry his precious students back to the Konoha hospital, but before he goes, the Animal who is silently observing him utters out a completely tactless sentence that luckily for Kakashi, he didn't hear.
At the news of The Third Hokage's death. The filthy animal couldn't help but wonder aloud.
"Wonder what his last words were? Personally, I would of said: "Got your hands you slimy Bastard! Haha!" And croaked gloriously!" The animal nods to himself stupidly and proudly, an amused smirk on his face. What tactless and vulgar being!
