Hello readers: Welcome to a new story that I've begun writing for you guys. Now, I am well aware of the fact that the last story that I just finished was quite short, and I do truly hope to try and make this story longer. However, I didn't want to write the story in the hospital; and rather than skip in the same story, I have decided to continue with the story here. Chapter One
Welcome Home
May 1st, 2019 (8:30 AM) – Casey Home, Honolulu
He invited some of his closest friends and advisors to join him here at his home. The home where Gabby, Matteo, and Noah were currently fast asleep upstairs, which meant that they were going to need to be quiet. But that was not the only reason that the group were going to have to be quiet. Rather, there was another reason; that of which being the fact that his wife doesn't know that they were meeting right now, just ten days after she gave birth to their sons. Yet, he did have some things to do. More specifically, he has to get some contracts and confidentiality agreements signed. As well, he hasn't done a board meeting in a while, so he needs to have one ahead of this weekend; that being due to the fact that Kelly and Stella are leaving for a vacation on Saturday. And that was going to mean that the rest of his employees need to do something for him, and that's pick up the slack wherever they can. And thankfully for him, he has four new permanent employees.
That means that he needs to get them to sign some confidentiality, as well as some employment contracts; but just who might that be might you ask? Well, they would be Will and Natalie Halstead (who've now been married for four days now) at the Casey Health Clinic, with Will also being an advisor to Casey PTSD Services (a subsidiary of Casey Police); his mother Nancy as a seamstress at ELLA Apparel, his sister Christie as the company's President and Chief Marketing Officer, and his niece Violet as a Summer Intern in the Marketing department (she will not be signing a contract, he just wants to see her). But, with all of the aforementioned positions all being positions of trust, and position that require them to maintain confidentiality; Matt can't let them work until they establish an a contractual relationship with the company. As well, they need to agree to work without having to guarantee them money; after all, they need to maintain the money in house.
He's just so grateful for one of his lawyers, Linda Errs, who is his contracts attorney; and boy is she good, as she was able to whip up five employment contracts quite quickly. Setting all of those contracts down with the newest gift that he just got for all of his executives, as well as the members of his family (a nice folio for meetings); Matt let out a sight of relief, as it meant that he finally had everything ready for his meeting today. However, his relief was soon gone as it wasn't long before he heard someone speak to him as they walked up behind him; more specifically, it was the voice of his mother-in-law. "Seriously? Is this the reason that you wanted to come home? So that you can have a board meeting?" Turning around to face his mother-in-law, Matt got nervous; especially when she has her hands on her hips. But she must know that wasn't the truth, as he does want to have his family home; he would rather Gabby get a chance to relax in their bed.
"Just for what it's worth, Gabby is well aware of the fact that I'm doing this; I need to do it because there are things that I need to get done for other people." Camila gave her son-in-law a bit of side eye when he said that, clearly not believing him; yet, that didn't mean that she didn't want her son-in-law to look good. With his shirt being a bit out of place, she proceeded to tug on it so that it was looking better. "Thanks." Camila agreed. "Now, what are these things that you need to get done for other people." The elder Dawson said, putting more of a questioning emphasis on the words 'other people'; because the truth was, she truly believed that this was for Matt and his company rather than for other people. "And what might that be? And who are these 'other' people?" The CEO could hear the sarcasm in her voice, which made him realize that she didn't believe him when it came to the fact that there are new employees that are joining the company.
But, as you know, there truly was four other people. "We have four new employees that I need to get under contract." Camila looked at her son-in-law. "Oh, you mean…" Matt nodded. "Camila, you know which contract I'm talking about. The one that allows you to have conversations with everybody about your position. With us being friends and family, we need to have the ability to openly talk with each other; however, we also need to know the limits of our ability to talk with others. I need to do this for the security of my company. Plus, it's not like I'm far; Gabby and the boys are just upstairs, and I was going to go check on them before I started my meeting. I have to bring Gabby some breakfast, and I also need to help her feed the boys at least one more time before I get to work." Camila smiled when she heard her son-in-law say that, clearly able to see how happy he was to finally be a dad; after all, him just saying that brought a smile to the new father's face.
"I can just see how happy being a father makes you, because it brought a huge grin to your face Matthew." Matt agreed with his mother-in-law, smiling at her. "I love being Matteo and Noah's father so far, even with the waking up in the middle of the night." Camila agreed with Matt when he said that. "By the way, have you had breakfast yet? What about Gabby?" Matt shook his head. "No, I was going to do that in a minute because I wanted it to be warm when I went upstairs. Anyways, I need to get a bottle of breastmilk to feed one of the boys; and I have yet to take a shower if you couldn't tell…" The father said, pointing out that he was walking around the house clad in some gym apparel; which then led to Camila smelling him, and boy did he smell ripe after working out this morning. "That's what smells." Matt just looked at her when she said that. "Gee, thanks Camila." Camila then looked at her son-in-law, letting out a sigh as she was sorry.
"I'm sorry." Matt shook his head. "It's okay. I just wanted to delay taking a shower for as long as I could; that way, I didn't wake Gabby and the boys up." Camila agreed with Matt. "Listen, how about you go take care of your family." Matt agreed with Camila when she said that, before thinking about something. "Oh, I've been meaning to talk to you about something; and I need to say it before I forget. Listen, I realized recently that I gave you a standard contract instead of the contract I was going to make for you specifically." Camila was confused. "And why would that be bad?" Matt sighed. "As part of the contracts, you're guaranteed a monthly cheque of $4,000 for living expenses in lieu of salary for now…" Camila then went to stop her stop-in-law. "I'm fine with you not giving it to me since I live here, ,and since you pay for the food with the credit card that you gave to me." Matt agreed with Camila when she said that, smiling as Camila is a great grandmother.
"Thank you for giving me that idea because I love it. Now, I'm just saying this; you do not buy gifts for my sons with that card, because I'm not…" Camila laughed as she heard her son-in-law say that. "I understand Matt. Now listen, you need to go shower before your meeting today." Matt agreed. "Uhm, there's a bunch of croissants and a plate of fruit in the kitchen in the fridge for the meeting. Can you take it out?" Matt then realized what he just said. "Shit, I'm sorry; I'm treating you like the help…" Camila then went to stop Matt from saying that, clearly able to see that he was stressed at the moment. "Hey, take a breath and relax. Matt, I'm here to help you." Matt then took a breath. "I'm sorry, I just want to do this right." Camila agreed. "And you are Matthew, I promise that you are. Just take a breath and relax. Matt, you're good now; and I promise that you're doing a great job." Matt agreed. "Uhm, ok. I need to go to my office and just grab…"
Camila then went to stop him. "What do you need Matt? I can go grab it." Matt sighed before agreeing. "It's my cheque book. Can you really…" Camila looked at her son-in-law, shocked that he would even ask her that. "Matt, it's me. You can trust me." Matt agreed with Camila. "Sorry, there's just been a lot going on recently." Camila agreed. "Which is why I'm here to help you. Now, give me the keys." Matt then did just that. "Top left drawer." Camila agreed with Matt. "Matt, remember to take your medicine okay? I can see that you're worried." Matt agreed. "Sorry, I know." Camila then proceeding to hug her son-in-law, wanting him to feel better. "Hey, take it easy and relax Matt. Everything's okay." Matt nodded as she said that, before kissing the side of her head. "Thanks Camila. You know what, maybe I should cancel the meeting. I am still exhausted. I am just so conflicted because I am trying to be a businessman, and a…"
Camila then stopped Matt. "Hey listen, I can see that you're stressed right now. Do you want to cancel? If you want, I can call Antonio and he can call your friends." Matt just took a breath. "I'm going to talk to Gabby about it first." Camila agreed with him. "Want me to serve breakfast in bed?" Matt smiled. "I'll love it in bed. Maybe eggs? I know Gabby would really appreciate that." Camila nodded. "I'll be up in 20 minutes. I want you in lounge wear." Matt agreed with Camila, before going ahead with walking away so that he can go upstairs and talk to Gabby about whether he should cancel.
He just finished in the shower this morning, feeling much better after taking his meds and just taking some time to breathe this morning; he swears, that breathing app that he recently found has really helped him and he's glad that he got a chance to do it. But now, he has a chance to do something else as he came out of the washroom clad in nothing but his boxers, and that was spent some quality time with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. But first, he was definitely going to look at his beautiful sons Matteo Andrew and Noah Matthew Casey. Walking up to their cribs, Matt smiled as he looked down at his adorable sons. "Hi Noah. You just wake up, yes you did." Matt then went to tickle him a bit, before watching him roll over; but what he didn't know, was that he wasn't the only one who just woke up. Rather, his wife just woke up too. "I just fed him, and I want him to stay asleep." Turning his head, Matt smiled when he saw Gabby.
"Hey, you, I didn't know you were awake." Gabby sighed. "It's hard to stay asleep when my husband is such a loud talker." Matt sighed as he heard Gabby say that, clearly able to tell that he woke her up. He then proceeded to make his way over to their bed, hanging up his towel on the hook that was next to his bed. He then smiled at his girl before seeing that his phone was flashing. Looking at it, he took a breath as he was tempted. "You're cancelling that meeting." Matt just looked at Gabby when she said that. "Gabby…" Gabby just looked at her husband. "Matt, I just gave birth. Please, cancel the meeting so that we can enjoy our dream. Baby, this is our dream come true." Matt thought about what Gabby said and agreed with her. "Your mom did offer to call Antonio and tell him to tell everybody else." Gabby laughed as Matt said that. "Baby, just send out an e-mail; then you can come join us in bed. I want to cuddle up to my husband and relax in bed right now."
Matt bit his lip when Gabby said that, thinking about whether he can cancel, before agreeing that it was probably the right thing to do. Gabby, Matteo and Noah need to be his priority right now; the business is being taken care of, and he can do that another day. Right now, he wants to be with the woman he loves along with their children. "You know, I actually thought about cancelling before I came upstairs." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "You better not be lying to me just because you want to have intimate time with me, because we're not having sex anytime soon." Matt looked at Gabby when she said that, well aware that was the case. "Hey, you just gave birth baby; I know that we aren't having sex with each other, nor do I want to have sex with you until I'm the only man who's in the room with you. Last time I checked, Matteo and Noah are in here; and you're not getting me until I have you alone, and I'm the only one seeing your boob."
Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, before feeling a bit of pain. Seeing Gabby in pain, Matt got nervous. "Hey, you okay?" Gabby nodded. "Yeah, I'm good." Matt just looked at Gabby when she said that, before proceeding to walk around their bed so that he can sit down with Gabby and make sure that she's okay. "Hey, you okay?" Matt then sat down next to her on their bed and put his hand on her stomach. Gabby then went to grab his hand, taking a breath. "Hey, are you in pain babe?" Gabby took a breath. "I had to get up and put Noah's pacifier back in his mouth. It was hard." Matt got worried when he heard Gabby say that, before putting his hand on her neck. Stroking his cheek with his thumb. "Listen, I'll call Antonio and tell him to call every body else? I didn't know you were in pain. I thought I could I could just…" Gabby then went to put her hand on top of her husband's hand. "Thank you Matt." Matt shook his head. "Hey, no need to thank me."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "Gabby, you're my wife; and you just gave birth, I promise that you're going to have me here with you. Heck, I think it was just a natural thing; Wednesday is meeting day all the day, and I got into a routing." Gabby nodded as she heard Matt say that, before feeling him bend down and lean his forehead against hers. Putting his hand on her neck, Matt smiled as he looked at the woman he loves; he then kissed her softly. "But that needs to change because I'm a daddy now." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, before putting his hand on his cheek and kissing him softly; taking things nice and slow with the man she loves, her baby daddy. "I love it when you call yourself a daddy, because you're my baby daddy." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, before kissing her nice and slowly. "Listen, I'm going to call Antonio; then I'm going to take care of you and the boys. I need to take a paternity leave."
Gabby smirked when she heard Matt say that he has to take a paternity leave, as that's something that she definitely likes to hear her husband say that. "I love the sound of you taking a paternity leave." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that. "And you want me to stay in boxers, don't you?" Gabby laughed. "I need a massage to tell you the truth." Matt sighed when he heard Gabby say that. "Is your back still bugging you?" Gabby nodded, which made Matt feel bad. "I feel horrible that I even scheduled a meeting baby." Gabby took a breath and put his hand on her cheek, after which they kissed each other softly. Taking things nice and slow with each other, Matt and Gabby both smiled due to the fact that they are parents now. "I'm going to call your brother and Kelly okay? They can take care of it for me." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "Do it up here, I want to see you come back and tell me first thing." Matt smirked, agreeing with Gabby as he walked over to their top porch so that he can cancel the meeting that he scheduled.
Reaching Kelly and Antonio this morning, Matt took a breath as he stood on the top deck of his and Gabby's home this morning. "Well, if it isn't the CEO. God, are you really here to tell us about what exactly we're going to talk about today at the meeting today Matt?" Antonio laughed when Kelly said that. "I actually think there's another reason for this call. And god, I am so hoping it's the lather reason." Matt was confused when he heard Antonio say that. "Is there a reason why that would be the case Antonio?" Antonio got worried. "I may have misplaced my research you asked me to complete for Casey Police. I know you want to do some stuff about guns…" Matt then forgot. "Oh, I thought it was another thing. Sorry, I complete forgot about that." Antonio then got a bit worried when he heard Matt say that. "You okay Matt?" Matt sighed. "The truth is, I'm just not into the idea of having a meeting today. I think I'd rather do something else today."
Kelly laughed when Matt said that. "Let me guess, those adorable sons of yours are calling for daddy to spend time with them daddy?" Matt agreed with Kelly. "Yeah, they are. Listen, I'll just send you guys your living expenses through eTransfer this week okay? Also, I'm going to ask you guys to talk to Linda Errs about your employment contracts. I was going to sign them today after she brought them, but if you guys can go into the office and sign them; then that would be great. I'm just…" Matt sighed. "I'm exhausted after everything that happened recently. Add in the fact that I just found out that my mom was okay, that was really emotionally draining." Kelly agreed with Matt when he said that. "You want to talk about that man?" Matt sighed when he heard Kelly ask him that. "I'm still processing everything, and I'd like to just take it easy for a while. I honestly have no clue why I even scheduled a meeting, or why you guys thought that I'd be happening."
Matt then went to speak directly to Antonio. "Especially you Antonio. We just got home with Matteo and Noah yesterday. Plus, Will is mad at me; he didn't want to work today, since he wants to take it easy after marrying Natalie last Saturday." That's when Matt decided to put his call with Antonio and Kelly on speakerphone so that he could text Will. 'Hey, just an FYI. We're cancelling today. Enjoy the start of married life with Nat today.' Matt then spoke to Antonio and Kelly. "Listen, you guys just stay course with everything. And Kelly, go ahead and leave to go to Oahu early." Antonio was confused. "Why you going to Oahu when you live in Honolulu?" Kelly laughed. "Babymoon-Honeymoon with Stella until the 11th. Thanks Matt, have a good day with Gabby and those boys. Now, I want an updated picture!" Antonio agreed with Kelly when he said that. "Same here!" Matt laughed. "We'll take one with you when you come here this weekend."
Antonio sighed. "You do realize I'm still in Chicago right? Trying to find my dad?" Matt then realized that. "Kelly…" Kelly agreed. "Good luck Antonio." Antonio agreed with him, while Kelly proceeded to hang up. At the same time, Matt went to speak to his brother-in-law about that. "How's that coming along? I completely forgot you were in Chicago; I am so sorry." Antonio agreed. "Hey, you have a lot on your mind; your PTSD, the boys, Gabby. But I've yet to find him. I'm going to go out with Intelligence today." Matt agreed with Antonio. "Listen, I'm going to regret saying this; but bring him home with you when you find him. I don't care anymore. I want him in Hawaii, where we can monitor him; and so that Matteo and Noah can meet their abuelo." Antonio agreed with Matt when he said that. "Gabby will love you. I promise, I'm going to find him." Matt took a breath when Antonio said that. "Just find him okay Antonio? I want to be able to tell my wife that we found him."
That's when Matt got a text from will. 'Thanks so much. I hated the idea of having to wake up early. F.U' Matt then texted him that. 'What did you just text your CEO!' Natalie then texted Matt. 'Please accept my apologies on behalf of both me and my husband. Sorry Matt.' Matt laughed. 'I'll put it to a slip of a finger JUST THIS ONCE. Now, no meeting today. I need to rest with Matteo and Noah.' Natalie agreed. 'OK. Have a good day.' Matt then went back to the conversation he was having with Antonio. "Sorry, I was just dealing with the newlyweds." Antonio laughed when he heard Matt tell him that. "How's Gabby feeling this morning?" Matt smiled. "She's happy to be back in her bed. Her back hurts." Antonio agreed. "Make sure that she moves sometimes. I remember when Laura recovered from giving birth, she didn't move much; and that really ruined her back before I went back to work, so I had to take more time off to help her recover from her back." Matt agreed.
"I promise, I'll do just that. But listen, I probably need to get off. I know that I need to take care of my family right now more than I need to talk to you guys. But listen, I think that right now, we can agree to cancel until after Antonio finds Ramon, and Kelly and Stella are back from their honeymoon/babymoon. Have a good time, and I have to go. I think my breakfast might be here soon." Antonio agreed. "Say hi to my mom and sister for me." I agreed with Antonio when he said that. "I will. Good luck in your search for your dad." Antonio agreed with me when I said that, ready to do just that. Hanging up his phone, Matt took a breath before getting up so that he can make his way back inside where he's going to rest with his beautiful family this morning. Walking in, Matt smiled. "How are things in Chicago in the search for my dad?" Taking a breath when Gabby asked him that, he proceeded to make his way over to bed so that he can talk to her about it.
