"Rock n' Not Loud Adventures!"
Chapter 142: Clearing the attic...
(February 11. The Loud House, Franklin Avenue. Royal Woods Michigan.)
The normal things are going down for everyone in the Loud House, and it's all happening upstairs.
Lola is checking her pink car, and with Lana's help and they see the problem is her jump rope got stuck and thankfully Lana knows how to handle that, and then Lisa shows up to provide some help. Lucy is in one of the vents, and she is writing down a new poem, Luan is preparing for a new comedy gig, Lynn is in her room and coming up with a new plan for their soccer game.
Lori and Leni are in their room, and the duo are talking to their friends on the phone, and Lori is also seeing the text messages from Bobby, since she has free time now. Lily is in her crib and playing with her teddy bear, and we see Lincoln and Luna are done with homework, they come out of the room and see everyone doing their usual thing.
But then Michelle comes up the stairs, and she calls out. "Everyone, stop what you're doing and listen up!" they all stop what they were doing, and they come out of their rooms, Lynn does go and pick up Lily and they all listen to what Michelle Lewis has to say.
"Alright, so the other day I went up to the attic and I saw just how cluttered and cramped it is, which means there is a ton of old things in there that need to be removed before it turns into a pigsty and possibly attract some unwanted company. So, we're gonna be cleaning out the attic of the old stuff."
Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, and Lincoln understand, but then they hear the others groan, and then Michelle whistles and then she explains. "Guys, you are all growing up and there are some things in there that might not be needed, things that were from before but are too old for the rest of you guys. We could either sell some of them, or just give them away. It is for the best."
They all now see what she means, and they could hand the old things down to folks who might need or want them. They then head to the attic and get to cleaning. They all get there, and Michelle turns on the lights and they see the things all in there.
"Michelle was not wrong, this is a lot of clutter, and no slippery butter." Luan then chuckles.
Lori then makes her hair into a ponytail. "Alright, guys. Let's do this thing." Leni does the same, and even Luna and they all get to it.
Michelle is surprised by the old stuff they used to have and keep back when they were little. Lily and her old toilet roll, which she chewed on and should be thrown out, Lori and Leni's old toys of fashion and a phone, Luan's old puppet theater which she made from cardboard, Lynn's old sports stuff, and small basketball hoop and her Pre-K punchers.
Lucy's shovel from back then that she used for digging up and burying things. Lola's old tiaras and dolls, Lana's mud pies and even the CD's with the rhymes and songs that the twins used to watch, and apparently horrified the parents, and even Lisa's fecal specimens, that are her diapers from back then, and this makes Michelle horrified that she should contact a garbage truck.
Michelle Lewis then sees the annoyed look on Luna. "Lunes, what's wrong?"
Luna sighs and she shows her a box she found. "Found the things I used to love!" They see the book of birds, a camera, feathers collection and photos of birds that she took. "I was into both leaf collecting and bird watching, and all of this... Those morons whom we called parents, are the ones who did this! They told me some raccoons took them."
Michelle's right eye twitches, and now she has another thing to talk to Lynnard and Rita about. "Well, you can keep them, Lunes."
Luna thinks about this. "The book on the birds I have taken I will keep, but the book on bird information I can give to some kid who might like this, and even the old camera, and... Wow, that is a lot of unused film. Perhaps I can sell these, for a bird watcher to use."
Michelle is happy to hear this, but then both Luna and Lincoln see a box of things that Lincoln doesn't need, his old tricycle and baby clothes, but then he is just looking into this box and they go over. "Little brother, something the matter?"
Luna looks inside, and she sees, the box filled with the mugs he made for their parents for their anniversary. They're many anniversaries. Luna then hugs Lincoln, to which he returns and feels sad. Michelle then asks. "What the heck is this?"
Leni then goes over and she explains. "Those are the mugs Lincoln made, for our parents when it was their wedding anniversary. He made them, by himself."
Lori sighs and she too explains. "Ever since Lincoln made them, they have been secretly putting them somewhere, and the rest of us literally never knew where they put them, and now we know."
Lucy goes over and speaks. "I have been up here many times, and I don't think I have even noticed the box with the mugs, but we have heard them talk about how they don't understand the mugs."
Luan speaks. "Almost like they don't even know how hard it was for Lincoln to make them, and also they were embarrassed by how they looked and even asked how it made any sense. So, we all agreed to make a photo of ourselves together, and it was possibly the only gift they liked from Lincoln."
Lisa then speaks, but she doesn't sound happy. "And yet, they acknowledged us more when we presented the portrait to our parental units, but Luna told them that it was Lincoln's idea, and they gave him some small form of gratitude and attention."
Lynn Jr didn't wanna talk, and she feels bad for her brother, and she goes over and rubs his back. Lily crawls over and hugs him as well, and so do the twins. They can hear Lincoln slowly crying, and it hurts for them to see him like this. His gifts, denied and left here to rot.
Michelle is surprised to hear this. "Those pathetic little... do they not understand that it's not the way it looks, it's how it was made. These were made by Lincoln, with hard work and I can tell, and yet for some reason they just didn't bother to see the sentimental value, and it's the thought that counts, just like a Christmas gift. A bunch of..."
All of them speak. "Stupid, misguided, and dumb morons for parents!" But Lincoln remains hugging Luna. Then Luna speaks.
"They never really did understand their actions, and never even bothered to give him much attention, almost like they don't even know he is around or to the fact they have a son. I wish they appreciated him more, and they never did have him attend some activities, but only attend those that involved our sisters and their big talented moments." This made the other sisters feel bad, mostly Lynn Jr.
They then go over, and hug Lincoln. Michelle is flustered from this and she wants to know more about these neglecting incidents, but she'll have to wait for next time, for now they need to clean the attic. But she does grab one of the mug's, and it is white and almost has an actual mug appearance, and is only slightly crooked.
Michelle smiles. 'I'm keeping this one, it looks like it has sentimental and true hard working value.' But she looks to the box with the other mugs he made and she feels bad for Lincoln. 'I think Lincoln should be the one to choose what to do with these, not our choice to make.'
(Later in the day.)
We now see all the louds, and they are giving their things away to those who might need them, though a garbage truck arrived earlier to pick up the... Fecal samples from Lisa, damn those are so many.
Luan has given away her old rabbit puppet and comedy gear to a kid who could make a play out of this, Lucy hands her small shovel to a young Goth boy who could become a future Young Morticians Club member. The twins give away some of their toys to some kids, and even Jillian and her baby Lucas are here, and are also given some of the old toys the loud kids used to play.
Luna then goes over to Michelle, and then she asks. "So, Lunes. How much did you get?"
Luna smirks. "Rosa Casagrande showed up." they are surprised to hear this. "She gave me more than a thousand bucks for the camera, the book on bird information, and of course the film for the camera. Seems like she might be planning something, I don't know what it is."
(Hint: It will lead to one of the episodes from the Casagrandes in the future chapters.)
Michelle is happy to hear this, but then they see Lincoln is done handing over his old things, and even his old trike, he then heads over and he hugs Michelle. She then hugs him back, and then she sees the box of the mugs he used to make is in the trash.
They all recall, he chose to throw them out because they gave him some bad memories, and this concerns Michelle Lewis and Luna. The others also feel bad, and embrace Lincoln, comforting him after all he has made for their parents back then.
Deep within the thoughts of Michelle, she is angered. 'I need to know, how many times did those morons keep neglecting him. Because it seems like, this is a worse case of child neglect, one not reported for this long.'
