Hi Readers: I wanted to let you guys know that today will be a low update day. Other than this chapter, I may only be able to write one more chapter. I apologize for getting distracted, and I truly hope to try and get better when it comes to concentrating on my writing. But for now, I think that I need to just concentrate on what I'm best at; and that's posting some updates here. I hope that you guys enjoyed Chapter Fifteen, and I hope that you guys enjoy this chapter too. Here we go with another one.

Chapter Sixteen
FLASHBACK: Jay & Alex's Romantic Night

Thursday, May 30th, 2019 – New Halstead Home, Honolulu
He decided to surprise his wife, surprise her with a night that she'll never forget; something that they are going to need to start doing much more often, especially before they have the kids. And there are reasons for that. The biggest reason? Jay wants to show his wife that nothing will change between the both of them. When they have the twins, he's still going to be the same man that she loves; and he's always going to be there for her. That will always be the case, and he just wants to take it easy with the woman he loves. He just hopes that he can pull her away from her work right now. Yes, her work. Even though they are now living in their new home, Alex seems to still want to work just as much as she did when they were working at the condo; the condo that they had as part of their compensation. But with them having kids soon, they both decided that it'd be better if they got their own place; and that was exactly what they have now. They have their own place, where they live alone.

A place where he plans on always treating Alex like the queen she is, as she truly is the love of his life. And right now, that was exactly what Jay planned on doing; and it all starts with them having their nice meal that he's already got all set up in the living room. Yes, the living room. He decided that he wanted his wife to be comfortable, and he also wanted to do something similar to what they could've done in the past on some cold nights in Chicago. And what might that have been? It was them sitting by the fire, as they cuddled up to each other; while also enjoying a nice meal together. But, they are in Honolulu after all, and that was probably not the best idea when it's already warm as it is. So, he decided to do something else; and that something else would be a candlelight living room picnic dinner, which he can only hope that Alex enjoys. But first, he needs to get her out of the design studio that she has here at their home, and out to the nice date that he has all set up for the both of them.

Walking into the office, Jay smiled as he looked at his wife; the wife who was hard at work for some of the designs that the girls are making for ELLA Apparel. Ever since they started the division, Alex has really found herself enjoying being a fashion designer more than an executive for Casey Police; and that was why he encourages her to follow her heart, and leave the Casey Police project behind. And while he does miss working with his wife every day, there's just something about the joy that he always sees on her face when she's designing that makes it all worth it; worth the time that they spend apart at work, which he definitely spends worrying about her and their daughters. The daughters that they are going to be born later this year. But right now, that was not what the husband needed to concentrate on; rather, he needs to concentrate on getting his wife out of the office and into the living room where they are going to have a nice night together. A nice romantic night, just the two of them.

And while Jay wouldn't mind having sex, he can go without it if that's what Alex needs; but what he needs right now, is his wife with him in the living room. Just making his way over to Alex his evening, Jay smiled as he walked up behind her and went to look at the designs that she was working on; and let's just say that they were gorgeous, gorgeous items that he hopes that she can wear on future dates. Yes, she was currently designing some lingerie, and Jay was a huge fan of the designs that he's already seen. But right now, he wants to have his wife to himself; and he plans on telling her that right now. Moving to tug her hair away from her neck, Jay bent down and smirked as he proceeded to kiss her neck softly; his way of telling her that he was here, and that he was liking what he was seeing. Smiling as she felt Jay kiss her neck, Alex just reached back and smiled as she put her hand on his neck. "I can see that my husband likes the designs that I'm making right now." Jay snickered.

"Yeah, I am. But I think it's time for you to get out of here, and come spend some time with your husband." Going to look at the time, Alex saw that it was quite late. "Oh god, is it already 7?" Jay agreed with his wife when she said that, smiling as he went to rub her shoulders; he then saw that they were really tight, and decided to start giving her a massage. And let's just say that Alex approved of the massage that he was in the midst of giving her, especially since it was exactly what she needed right now; looking down at designs for an extended period of time is hard on the neck, and she is definitely happy that her loving husband is currently giving her a sweet massage. "Oh, you are so earning me tonight." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, before watching as she turned around and faced him; seeing that he was a bit dressed up, Alex smiled. "You just come back from the office?" Jay shook his head. "No, this is for you." Alex was confused as she heard Jay said that, before getting up.

Stepping close to his beautiful wife once she was standing up with him, Jay smiled as he wrapped his arms around her and just went to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you." Alex agreed with her husband as he told her that he loves her, madly in love with her dreamy husband too. "I love you too, and I am so glad that you came to get me; I need to eat for the sake of our girls." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as it was why he came to get her. "And I actually have that under control actually." Alex was confused as she heard Jay tell her that he had it under control, not exactly aware of why that was the case. "Okay? I'm not sure what you mean by that." Jay smirked when he heard Alex say that, before going to grab his beautiful wife's hand. "And that's why you're going to be coming with me." Alex smiled when Jay told her that. "I can only assume that's more of an order than a request?" Jay took a breath when he heard Alex say that, as she was his wife.

"I would say that it's a request, not an order." Alex just shook her head when she heard Jay say that, stepping close to him as she grabbed his hand. She then proceeded to intertwine their fingers, smiling as she looked at the man she loves. "I smell food, I'm hungry." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, smiling as he stepped close to her; after which, he put his hand on her hip and proceeded to kiss her softly. Just taking things nice and slow with Jay, Alex smiled as she put her hand on his neck and kissed him slowly. "Well, I am sure that you're going to love the food that we're having for supper." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before smiling as she proceeded to wrap her arms around his muscular bicep. At the same time, Jay proceeded to lead the woman he loves out of the office that they have here. Shutting off the lights, Jay smirked. "Promise me that you sleep in a bit tomorrow, you came down far too early Alex." Alex agreed with Jay, taking a breath as he told her that.

After all, she knew that was the case; and she hated that she ended up working all day. "Yeah, we need to spend some time together." Jay agreed with his wife when she said that, smiling at her. "Maybe we can invite Will and Natalie over tomorrow, just have a family day." Alex agreed with her husband when he said that, smiling as she laid her head down on his arm while Jay led her towards the living room; which is where he just so happened to have set up the date that he hopes to surprise Alex with. "Maybe we can even go on a date." Jay agreed with Alex when she said that, smiling at his beautiful wife. "Oh believe me, we're going on a date sooner than you think." Alex was confused as she heard Jay tell her that, not exactly sure what he means by that. However she didn't get a chance to ask him what he meant, because he started to speed walk shortly after saying it; her husband obviously not wanting her to ask questions about what he just said. And let's just say that she would soon know why.

She should've known, based solely on the way that her husband was dressed; the way that he was wearing something much more special that he usually wears around the house. Heck, that he was even wearing a shirt around the house at the moment. Ever since the couple moved to Hawaii, Jay has pretty much been shirtless; and Alex has only seen him wear a shirt when he has to, like when he's in public or when he's at work (or working out). Oh, but the times where he works out shirtless are quite nice. But this time where he's going to be wearing a shirt is the best one yet, and the most romantic. Feeling Jay get close to get, Alex smiled as she felt him wrap his arm around her while kissing the side of her head. "What do you think?" Turning to look at her husband when he asked her what she thought…she just didn't know what to say, as she was truly shocked that he even set this up for her. "I don't know what to say. I'm really shocked right now to tell you the truth." Jay agreed, smiling.

Turning to look at his beautiful wife, Jay smirked as he proceeded to get close to her before wrapping his arms around her. Putting her hands on Jay's strong arms shortly afterwards, Alex smiled as she got as close as she could to her husband, before feeling him give her forehead a soft kiss. And let's just say that was so adorable, and it just made Alex smile. Looking up at the man of her dreams, Alex smirked due to the fact that she was really happy right now. The way this man makes her feel is incredible, and she truly believes that Jay knows that he's the love of her life. Looking down at Alex while she looked up at him, Jay smirked as he stared into her eyes; after which, he stepped close to her and put his hand on her neck. Just taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, Jay smirked due to the fact that he was really happy right now. He had his gorgeous wife standing close to him, which was everything to him. She was everything to him in life.

Moving her hand to Jay's chest, Alex started to look around; after all, she wanted to know where Max was before she ate. It was something that she needed to know so that she doesn't feed him. Seeing just what his wife was doing, Jay smiled as he proceeded to put his hands on her arms and held her close to him. "I already put Max in his crate in our room, he's going to stay there while we eat; that way, you have nothing to worry about while we enjoy a nice supper together." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, smiling as that was exactly what the wife wanted to hear from her husband. Leaning up, she just smirked as she proceeded to kiss the man she loves more than anything nice and slowly this evening. "After supper, I want you." Jay smirked, agreeing with his wife as she told him that. "Good, because I want you too. I want you in bed, and I want to make love to you." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, smirking due to the fact that she's incredibly happy right now.

Halstead Primary Suite
She decided to make her way up to bed a bit earlier than her husband, the pregnant Ms. Halstead wanting to stand in the way that would quite easily seduce her husband from the moment he walked into their room; and that was exactly what was happening as her loving husband walked into their bedroom this evening, while just wearing his jeans. And let's just say that Alex loved the sight. As much as she would've really loved to take off her husband's shirt for him, she was plenty okay with what she was getting from Jay right now; and that was him walking into their room shirtless. And Jay felt the same way, as he was happy to see what Alex was wearing for him right now. And just what might that be? Well, she was just wearing her little underwear, and one of his dress shirts while it was (partially) undone. And boy was that a real turn on for the husband. The sight of his wife standing at the end of their bed like that definitely was something that he enjoyed. He loved it so much.

And he was definitely going to be taking his wife in his arms tonight, that was for certain; because either he was going to have to initiate it, or his wife would herself. Regardless of who initiates the intimacy tonight, Alex was getting her husband in bed; after all, she is extremely hormonal right now. "Well, what do we have here?" Jay said, as he walked into the bedroom and threw his shirt towards the laundry hamper. Seeing that it went in, Jay smirked as he went ahead and spoke to his beautiful wife. "Well, looks like daddy has good aim tonight; and that's not always the case. So, I must be lucky; does that mean that I'm getting lucky in bed?" Alex smiled as she watched Jay walk up to her, wanting to put her hands on his chest before he says anything; which was something that Jay knew, as he soon made his way over to her. Placing his hands on Alex's hips, Jay smirked as he stepped close to his beautiful wife while leaning in and proceeding to kiss her softly this evening. "So sexy."

Alex smiled as she heard Jay call her sexy, as she loves being called sexy; especially when she's pregnant with their twins. The twins that Jay is positive is twin girls. Turning his head as he heard Max walk into their room, Jay smiled. "Max, bed." Looking up at his master, Max agreed with him before walking away to go lay down in his bed; after all, the service dog is not blind. He could clearly tell that his human wants to take things slow with his wife right now. Just moving his hand to Alex's neck, Jay smiled as he leaned in and proceeded to take things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything. "Thank you for walking in shirtless." Jay smirked as he heard Alex thank him for walking in shirtless, which was something that he's always happy to do. "I do it for you baby, and so that I can show off just how good I look shirtless." Alex smirked when she heard Jay say that, as he definitely did look good shirtless; which was something he knew when she ran her hands down his abs.

Feeling Alex's hands on his abs, Jay smirked as he put his hands on her arms once again while leaning in and proceeding to kiss her softly. At the same time, Jay took things nice and slow with his gorgeous wife; which was something that Alex wanted more than anything. "I swear, you are such a turn on; and I am so glad that this is what we're in the midst of doing right now. I really want this so bad." Alex agreed with her loving husband as he told her that, smiling as she ran her hands up his toned chest. "Believe me when I say this Jay, but I feel the same way. I just want you to take me in your arms, and I want you to just hold me close to you for a while. I don't know why but…" Jay then put his hand on Alex's neck, before stroking her cheek and finishing her sentence. "You've been missing me." Alex sighed as she heard Jay tell her that, hating that she feels that way; especially since they're together a lot. "Do you want to just lay down in bed for a bit? We can talk about that." Alex agreed with Jay.

"Do you mind?" Shaking his head, Jay smiled as he put his hands on her hips and then leaned in to kiss the woman he loves slowly. "No, I don't mind. If this is what you need, then it's what you'll get. I'll hold you close, and we can take it easy Alex. I promise. I just want to give you what you need, and I think we both know that's what you need right now. You need me to hold you close, and just take it easy with you." Alex agreed with jay as he told her that, smiling as that truly did sound incredible; the idea of Jay holding her in his arms this evening is everything that she wants, and she's so happy that it's what he wants to do as well. She then proceeded to get close to him, moving her hands to his toned chest once again before kissing him softly. "I promise, you can get some in the morning." Jay smirked as he heard Alex say that, definitely interested in getting some attention from her in the morning. "Oh, I'm going to hold you to that Ms. Halstead." Alex smirked, agreeing with Jay.

Making his way over to bed after getting undressed this evening, Jay smirked due to the fact that Alex looks absolutely stunning tonight. The way she's laying down in their bed is such a turn on, and he's just so glad that they're going to be holding each other close. It's exactly what they need to do, and Jay never wanted Alex to feel like they had to do anything tonight; and now, that's exactly how she feels. She feels like she can just lay back and relax, while Jay holds her in his arms and kisses her tonight. And that's definitely something that Jay is more than ready to do, since he wants to do it as well. He wants to hold his beautiful, pregnant wife in his arms; and he wants to kiss her slowly rather than make love to her tonight. He doesn't need sex tonight, all he needs is to take things nice and slow with her; and that will always be the truth. He just needs to hold Alex close to him, and share a sweet kiss with her every night for the rest of their lives. Climbing into bed with Alex, Jay smirked as he got close to her.

Jay's POV:
Bringing Alex against my chest this evening shortly after joining her in bed, I smirked due to the fact that I am incredibly happy right now. I really do have the most beautiful wife in the entire world, and I just feel so lucky to have her as my wife; especially when we're laying down in bed together like this, with my hand on her sexy lingerie. Yes, Alex ended up going to change into some lingerie for me as we aren't having sex tonight; and I am more than okay with that. The way that we're going to hold each other close is more than okay with me, and that's why we're going to do it. We're just going to relax, as we hold each other close in bed this evening; and that's all that we both want to do anyways. We want to hold each other close as we relax in each other's arms. But now, it's time to give Alex what she really wants right now. And that's me holding her close to me in my arms. Wrapping my arm around her back, I smiled as I brought Alex against my chest this evening to just take it easy with her.

Slipping close to me at the same time, Alex smiled as she wrapped her arms around my neck and then leaned in to kiss me softly. Smirking as she did that, I put my hand on her beck and proceeded to stroke it as a way to make sure that the woman I love more than anything in the entire world knows that I'm happy; that I'm happy to be here with her right now, and that I'm happy that we're just holding each other close in bed rather than having sex. I can see that she's tired, and that she just needs to take it easy. However, I can't help but wonder if that was due to the fact that my beautiful wife was awake in the middle of the night again last night. Just holding her close to me, I smiled as I stared into Alex's eyes so that I could talk to her about whether or not she woke up in the middle of the night last night; and I can only hope that she's honest with me about it, because then we can get extra sleep if that's what she needs to get tonight. She is pregnant after all, and that's important.

Staring into those gorgeous eyes that I love, I smiled as I leaned in and proceeded to kiss Alex softly while taking things slow with her; and let's just say that Alex was glad that's what I'm in the midst of doing. I heard her moan a bit, and I could tell that was her telling me that she was more than happy with what I was in the midst of doing right now. Moving her hand to the back of my head, Alex smiled as she brought herself against my chest and just started to take things nice and slow with me tonight. "I love you." I agreed with Alex as she told me that she loves me, which I promptly responded by saying: "I love you too Alex, and I always will. I just hope that you don't feel like we need to stay awake if you're tired. I would never want you to feel that way Alex." Alex took a breath as I told her that, clearly starting to feel that way about how we always stay up late. Taking a breath, she stared into my eyes and then proceeded to kiss me softly once again to try and hide the fact that it was the case.

"Alex, you need to tell me the truth. How tired are you babe?" Alex sighed as I asked her how tired she was, before just cuddling up to me and wrapping her arms around my torso. "More tired than I expected." I agreed with Alex when she told me that, before running my hand (and wedding band) up and down her arm. "I think that maybe you working in the office before we had supper wasn't the best idea. I think you needed to get more rest." Alex agreed with me when I told her that, clearly understanding where I was coming from; and that was a place of love and concern for her, as she is my wife and that's my right to worry about her. And not just her right now, but our unborn children as well. Gently caressing Alex's arm with my thumb as we held each other close, I smiled due to the fact that this is what we need to do right now. We just need to take it easy and relax as we hold each other close. "I can see that you're tired tonight too." Alex sighed as I mentioned that she looks tired.

"Yeah, I am pretty tired." I agreed with Alex when she told me that, hating that she felt like she had to stay awake longer than she needs to. If she needs to sleep, then she should get the sleep she needs. "Do you want to just go to bed baby? I mean it when I say that we don't need to take it easy with each other right now." Alex agreed with me as I said that, before leaning in and kissing me softly. After which, I put my hand on her arm and just continued to take things nice and slow with my beautiful wife until we fell asleep in each other's arms. "I love you Jay, and I am so glad that you're my husband. You're my world, and I am so proud of the life that we've started with each other." I agreed with Alex when she told me that, smiling as I felt the same way. This is our dream life, and I am so glad that this is the life that we get to share with each other every day.
