Hi Readers: What did you guys think of the last chapter? I hope that you guys liked it and are ready to read some more nice chapters that I plan on writing for you today. So, what do you say we get to it? Here's Chapter Fifty-Six, our third in California.

Chapter Fifty-Six

She just finished getting dressed for the day so that she can be with her husband, the husband whom she thought was going to be in bed with her as they woke up in each other's arms for the first time since they moved to California; moved to the place where they are going to be staying for a while, as there was no way that they were going to be buying another home. Her home was in Honolulu, and that was always going to be her home; but right now, he was more than okay with visiting California. She just wished that her husband would stick to the promises that he made to her when they were at home, and that was that they would always wake up in each other's arms. But she also knew that couldn't always happen anymore, and that was due to the fact that they did have a dog; and he had to go out in the morning. But she always expected her husband to come back to bed, crawling back in with her so that they can cuddle up as they woke up; but that was not what happened this morning, as you very well knew based on what was happening.

And that was that Alex was making her way out of the bedroom that they were sharing here for the summer, only to see Matt standing in the kitchen while making them some breakfast; she just didn't know whether they were going to have to make independent breakfasts while they were here, because that most definitely was something that they needed to figure out. And luckily for her, there was someone in the kitchen right now that she could ask; after all, he was the one that was going to be able to tell her everything that she needed to know, up to and including just where her husband is. Looking at Matt as he made breakfast, Alex smiled. "Okay, I am not going to assume this; but I have this feeling that you know where my husband is." Hearing Alex speak to him this morning, Matt laughed as he turned around to look at her. "Good morning to you too Alex." Alex agreed with the CEO when he said that, smiling before walking into the kitchen so that she could hug him; after all, the friends that are staying here have become more like family.

And that was due to the fact that they had to rely on each other much more, especially Matt; and that was due to the fact that he was the one that was paying for them to live their lives, which she is more than happy to take advantage of. "By the way, thanks again for inviting us to join you here in California; I hope you know that you didn't have to do that." Matt took a breath when he heard Alex say that, as that was not exactly the truth; there was actually a reason behind him asking her and Jay to join him here, a selfish one. "Uhm, yeah that may not have been the truth." Alex was confused when she heard Matt say that, before looking at her boss; after all, he was confusing her. "Do you mind?" Looking at Alex, Matt smiled as he pointed towards one of the bar stools that they have here. "You want anything to drink? Or a snack that Jay set up for you here in the kitchen?" Alex was shocked when she heard Matt say that, unaware that he knew about Jay having set up some snacks for her to have in his kitchen. "Jay set up some snacks for me in here?"

Matt laughed. "He basically asked me where he could put some the minute we got here, because he wants to make sure that he could find them easily." Alex agreed with Matt when he said that, before smiling about what he did; as it was just these little things that made her love her husband more each and every day, things like these exact things that he's done for her right now. Smiling at the CEO, Alex just pushed a strand of hair behind her ear as she was that happy. Seeing Alex do that, Matt could see that she was happy. "I can only imagine that you're currently thinking about how happy Jay doing this makes you?" Alex agreed with Matt when he said that, before thinking about how she might actually want to sit here and talk with the CEO for a bit. "Do you mind if I…" Matt then smiled as he proceeded to point to his chair. "Want some water or something?" Alex agreed with Matt when he said that. "How did you know what I need?" Matt laughed as he heard Alex ask him that, before walking over to the fridge where he can get Alex some water.

Going to open the fridge, Matt proceeded to grab a bottle of water for Alex; carrying it over to her as she sat on a bar stool, Matt smiled as he went to give it to her. "Here, make sure that you drink up." Alex just shook her head. "Last time I checked, you aren't my husband." Matt agreed with Alex when she said that. "I know that I'm not your husband, but he would say the same thing if he were here." Alex then thought about it, and just agreed with the CEO; after all, she can definitely see Jay doing that…because he does that. "I swear, it's like you're a carbon copy of him." Matt laughed as Alex said that, before looking at him. "Alex, who do you think gave him all of the do's and don'ts of taking care of your pregnant wife?" That's when Matt heard Antonio come out. "That would be me, of course." Looking up at Antonio, Matt shook his head. "Okay, that may be true; but not entirely." Antonio just looked at his brother-in-law when he said that, before putting his hands on his hips to get some more information; and that's exactly what Matt gave him.

"Have you ever had to deal with a twin pregnancy?" Antonio then thought about it, and just went ahead and shut up. "Yeah, I didn't think so. Listen, your sister and the twins are outside…." Matt then proceeded to walk over to the fridge and grabbed Gabby's water bottle. "Uhm, can you just wait a minute, and I will give you something? I forgot to give her something this morning." Antonio and Alex were both confused when they heard Matt say that. "And what was…" Antonio then watched as Matt started to fill up a water bottle for Gabby. "Oh, you're getting her a water bottle to drink." Matt agreed with his brother-in-law when he said that, before proceeding to take it away from the tap. Screwing the tap on, Matt smiled as he walked over to Antonio; after which, he gave Antonio the bottle of water so that he can carry it outside to Gabby. "By the way, thanks for coming to join us here; I know that it was a lot to…" Antonio then stopped his brother-in-law from saying anything, because there was no reason for him to thank him for that.

"Matt, take a breath and just listen to me." Matt agreed with his brother-in-law when he said that, before listening to him. "Matt, I am more than happy to have come with you and Gabby here; because I know that you need me here to help with the kids, especially when I know that you're going to do business here this summer." Matt took a breath when he heard Antonio say that, as that was definitely something that he wanted to do. "Uhm, I am trying to get in touch with Tesla. While we're here, I want to try and get a meeting with their teams. You already know why of course." Antonio agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as he was well aware of the reason why he wanted to get a meeting with Tesla; and that was due to the fact that he wanted to try and make a deal with them to make some of their police car designs, as he wanted to try and make the earth better. That's something that Matt's wanted to do ever since he's had the boys. He's been much more of an environmentalist of late, as he wants to protect the earth.

"I know Matt." Matt smiled at Antonio. "Plus, I kind of like the idea of staying here during the summer since it's not as hot as Hawaii; we can do summers in California, winters in Hawaii." Antonio laughed. "We'll see. Let's just see how this summer goes, because we need to remember that we're all living together; I don't have the money to buy a place here in California, unlike you Mr. Billionaire." Alex then turned to look at Matt when he said that. "Billionaire?" Matt bit his lip. "I wasn't going to say anything, but I may have recently won the lottery here in California." Alex was shocked when she heard Matt say that. "You lucky son of a bitch!" Matt smirked when he heard Alex say that. "Oh, calm down. Last time I checked, you get to live the same lifestyle as I do; or would you rather go back to Chicago and be an intelligence officer?" Alex agreed with Matt when he said that, as she most definitely doesn't want that. "Hey, as long as I can be in Hawaii when I give birth; then I am more than okay with that, because I need to have my doctor."

Matt agreed with Alex when she said that, before looking at Antonio. "We need to be back in Hawaii by September for Eva." Antonio laughed. "Or you can stay here, and I can go back to Hawaii with my daughter." Matt smiled at Antonio. "Oh no, you need to stay with me for your godson out there." Antonio then realized that, before nodding. "By the way, my mom says hi from Hawaii." Matt nodded. "Want some coffee or anything?" Antonio shook his head. "No, I'm just going to go outside and be with Gabby and my nephews." Matt agreed with Antonio when he said that, before watching as he walked away so that he can go be with Gabby; at the same time, he turned to look at Alex again. "So, I saw that most recent design that you sent to Gabby." Alex sighed when she heard Matt say that, still feeling bad that she was working more at ELLA rather than at Casey Police (where she was originally going to work). "I hope you know that I'm still story that I work more at ELLA than Casey Police by the way." Matt just looked up at Alex when she said that.

After all, he didn't want her to feel bad. "Hey, don't even go there Alex; I don't want you to feel guilty whatsoever for wanting to work at ELLA rather than at Casey Police, especially because I know why you want to do it. You want to do it for the sake of your twins, and just do something that was much more relaxing." Alex agreed with Matt when he said that, as that was most definitely the truth. "Yeah, I am always worried that something is going to happen to the twins." That's when Jay came inside and just looked at his wife, not having expected to hear that. "Alex, do you need to talk to me?" Turning her head, Alex sighed as she knew that she did need to talk to her husband, and that was because of what she just said. Looking at Matt, Jay smiled. "Matt, can you make me and Alex some breakfast? I need to take a shower and talk to her." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, before smiling at Matt as she got up; after which she went to get close to her husband. Wrapping his arm around Alex, Jay smiled as he kissed her forehead while looking at Matt.

"Of course, Jay, go ahead and take a shower; I got breakfast for you guys." Jay agreed with Matt when he said that, before grabbing Alex's hand and leading her away so that they can go talk (in the shower).

So say that he liked the sight of his beautiful wife naked in the shower most definitely was an understatement, as he always thought that his gorgeous wife looked so damn sexy whenever she was naked in the shower; and that was exactly what she wanted her husband to feel right now, as she wanted her husband to come join her in the shower so that they could talk for a bit. Making his way into the washroom wearing a towel, Jay smirked as he looked at his beautiful wife before just taking a minute to admire her; but he didn't take too long, as he did want to get in with her and wash her before she did it herself. So, he went ahead and did what he needed to do so that he could get in the shower with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. Taking off his towel, Jay smirked as he went ahead and hung it up next to Alex's on the hooks; grabbing the shower door shortly afterwards, he quietly opened it so that he could (try) and sneak into the shower with Alex. However, she ended up realizing that the door was opened.

Turning to look at her dreamy husband as soon as the door to the shower was opened, Alex smiled due to the fact that she was happy that he just gave to join her in the shower. "Hey handsome." Jay smiled when he heard Alex say that, before stepping in with her. "How did you realize that I was about to join you in the shower?" Getting into the shower, Jay smiled as he moved close to the woman he loves while also closing the door behind him. Stepping really close to her, Jay smiled as he put his hands on her stomach; after which, Alex put her hands on his toned chest and smiled at the man of her dreams. Stepping close to Alex, Jay smiled as he put his hand on the side of her face; kissing her softly, Jay smirked due to the fact that this is everything that he's ever wanted in life. Stepping close to her dreamy husband even more, Alex ran her hands up and down his chest. Wrapping his arms around Alex, Jay smirked as he leaned in and proceeded to kiss her softly. Taking things nice and slow with the man she loves, Alex just kissed him nice and slowly.

"I love you." Jay agreed with his beautiful wife when she said that, before smiling as he continued to kiss her; but what he could never expect was that Alex would push him back against the wall, which most definitely turned him on. "Damn baby, such a turn on." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, before smiling as he put his hands on her back. Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, Jay smirked due to the fact that he is so glad that they are in the midst of taking things nice and slow with each other; after all, this is perfect. "I love you." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that. "I know Jay, but you can please just relax with that." Jay agreed with his wife when she said that, before bending down and proceeding to kiss her neck softly. However, that was not what Alex wanted; rather, she wanted her husband's soft lips on hers. So, that was where she brought them back to. She brought his lips to hers and started to kiss him slowly. "Keep them here, where they belong." Jay agreed, smirking.

He then started to take things nice and slow with the most beautiful woman in the entire world, and the woman who has his heart; the woman who will always have his heart, which is something that Alex knows. Running his hands up and down her back, Jay smirked due to the fact that he was very happy right now. I mean, what man wouldn't be happy to be in the shower with his wife? "God, you make me so happy." Alex laughed as she heard Jay say that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I know that Jay; you have no need to tell me that I make you happy, as I am really happy too. And I already know that you're going to be the best dad." Jay smiled when he heard Alex mention that he's going to be a great dad, as he is ready to be a dad more than anything. "I just hope you know that you and the kids are always going to be my priority." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, well aware of what he was talking about; and if she knows anything about her husband, it's that he loves her more than anything in the entire world.

"Jay, I know that. I know that you are going to always prioritize me and the kids, because I also know that someone would kill you if you didn't" Just looking at his wife when she said that, Jay was in disbelief that she even did that. Setting his wife down on his ground, Jay just sighed as he went ahead and proceeded to open the shower door; because it was enough, he was not going to take it anymore. "Jay, hey. Where are you going?" Going to grab his towel, Jay dried off a bit before walking away so that he can get dressed.

He was not happy over the fact that she mentioned his father, while they were naked in the shower; and that was definitely something that Alex should've known, that he hated the fact that she just mentioned her father in the shower. If there was anywhere that she should not mention her father, then it was in the shower; where they were naked with each other. Putting his boxers on underneath his towel, Jay just tugged them up so that he can make sure that he at least has them on; that was, until he heard his wife walk out of the shower clad in nothing but a towel. "Excuse me?" Turning around to face Alex, Jay took a breath due to the fact that he knew that he was going to be in trouble with his wife; but he didn't care, because he was not happy with her. He mentioned her father's name in the shower, and that was not something that he liked. Taking off his towel after putting his boxers on, Jay walked over to the hook that he has on the side of the bed; after which, Jay proceeded to hang the towel up on his hook. After which, he looked at his wife.

Just standing there in her robe, Alex crossed her arms. "Seriously?" Alex looked at her husband as he stood there, as she still wasn't happy over the fact that she was left alone in the shower. "Yeah, seriously; what in the world led you to leave the shower out of the blue?" Jay just sighed as he looked at his wife, before deciding to walk over to the end of their bed so that they can stand together. "Come here, and I'll explain." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, walking over to the man she loves; and the future father of their children, which is just one of the reasons why she loves the man who is currently standing at the end of her bed. Walking up to him, Alex smiled as she put her hands on his chest; at the same time, Jay wrapped his arms around his wife before smiling at his wife. "Alex, do I really need to point it out? Alex, you mentioned your father in the shower; I think we both know what that does to me." Alex took a breath when she heard Jay say that, well aware that was the case. "I know, I'm sorry." Jay agreed with Alex, nodding at his wife.

After which, he proceeded to put his hand on her neck and just held her close to him. He knows that she hates making him mad about this, but it's just something that always happens. Getting close to Jay, Alex went to hug him; after which, he wrapped his arms around his wife and just sighed. Running his hand up and down her back, Jay held Alex close due to the fact that he knew that this was hard for her. "Alex, you know that I hate it; yet you keep doing it. Are you okay?" Alex sighed as she looked at Jay. "It's just something I'm still trying to stop doing." Jay agreed with his wife when she said that, well aware that was the case. "I'm sorry Jay, I'm trying to stop; and I hope you k now that." Jay agreed with his wife when she said that, well aware that was the case. After which, they both held each other close and just took a breath. She then went to walk over to her dresser so that he could go put some undergarments on. "Do you want to sit in bed and talk about this before we go out?" Alex then sighed as she grabbed some lingerie.

Starting with her underwear, she went to put it on while turning around to look at her loving husband; after which, she went to take off her robe and threw it onto the bed. After which, she went to put her bra on. "I just feel like we're just…I'm not sure." Jay agreed with his wife when she said that, clearly able to see that she had a lot on her mind right now. "Alex, I'm sorry that I stormed out; I can only imagine how that made you feel." Alex sighed as she looked at Jay and just looked down, after which Jay made his way over to her. Moving his hands to her stomach after walking over to the woman he loves, Jay smiled as he held her close to him; after which, he leaned in and kissed her softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Jay smiled at her. "I'm sorry, I overreacted." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, before cuddling up to him. "And I just feel like I keep messing up." Jay shook his head. "I'm the one that messed up Alex, I promised. I need to relax and stop overreacting like I did. Please, don't blame yourself for something that I did."

Alex took a breath, before agreeing with the man she loves as he told her that; after all, that was exactly what she needed to hear right now. She just needs to hear the truth that he needs to tell her, and she's so glad that he's telling her this truth right now. "You know that I love you more than anything, and hate hurting you; right Jay?" Getting close to Alex, Jay put his hands on her hips before nodding as he stared into her eyes. "Hey, of course I know that Alex; of course, I know that, and I don't want you to ever think that I don't know that. That's the last thing that you need to worry about baby." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, before smiling as she leaned in and proceeded to kiss the man she loves more than anything once again. After which, they both just took things slow with each other; I mean, what's better than sharing a nice kiss with the man/woman you love more than anything in the entire world? "Listen, can we just agree that we can get past this?" Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, smiling at her beautiful husband.

After which, Alex hugged Jay and smiled due to the fact that this is everything that they want. They want to be happy with each other, and they just want to have fun with each other; that was exactly what they both wanted and needed to do with each other, and they both just smiled with each other. "I hate that we have to work today." Jay agreed with Alex when she said that, before smiling at her. "I know, but we can take time together tonight okay?" Alex agreed with her husband when he said that, smiling at him. "Sounds good." That's when Alex heard Max bark from their bed. Turning to look at Max, Alex shook her head. "I swear, that dog there just knows when he needs to interrupt us." Jay agreed with Alex when she said that, before smiling as she proceeded to grab her hand. After which, he grabbed her hand and smiled as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you, and I am so glad that we are here with each other; as that's all that matters." Alex agreed with Jay, smiling at him.

"Listen, we can get sexy with each other tonight; because I know that we need to work today." Jay agreed with Alex when he said that, smiling as he proceeded to give her one last kiss. After which, he walked over to his clothes so that he could get dressed this morning; and then, they'll go out to have breakfast together.
