Hi Readers: Sorry for the delay in getting this chapter out, but I ended up getting a bit distracted in between writing last chapter and this chapter. But now, I'm ready to write a couple more for you; some chapters that are most definitely going to include a bunch of time where the couples are going to spend time as family and friends (sorry for the spoilers), at Matt and Gabby's home while celebrating her birthday. But, I'm sure that you guys want to find out more about what happens on her birthday. So, how about we get to it. Thanks again for reading. Here's Chapter Seventy-Two.
Chapter Seventy-Two
All Together Now
Walking out of Will and Natalie's home this morning shortly after talking to Natalie about what she needed to talk to her about, Gabby smiled as she watched as Jay welcomed his brother to the gathering that they're having with their friends this morning; the brothers having just shared a hug this morning, one that will most definitely be replicated when Natalie makes her way over to the group of people (as Jay is going to want to say hi to his sister-in-law as well). And that gave Gabby a chance to spend a quick moment with Matt, while a majority of the group was concentrating on saying good morning to the doctors; after all, he was currently in the midst of looking at her with a glimmer of worry in his eyes. The thing that he was worried about? It was due to the fact that she both went to a doctor's home, and it took her a bit of time to come back to him. Well aware that was the case, Gabby smiled as she walked over to him (along with the rest of her friends); she then went ahead and wrapped her arms around him to calm him down right now.
"Hey." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, wrapping his arm around her before kissing her forehead softly. "Hey." Looking up at the man she loves, Gabby smiled at him. "You're worried." Matt nodded as Gabby asked him that, before going to tug out a chair for her so that she can sit down; which she promptly did after Matt tugged the chair out for her, as she knew that it was one of the ways that she was going to be able to calm her husband down this morning. Bending down after Gabby sat down, Matt smiled as he looked at his beautiful wife (who just so happens to be pregnant with their third child); and that was the reason why Matt was worried right now. She was gone for too long for his liking. Then again, should he really be worried? She was with his friend, who just so happens to be a doctor. That's when Gabby decided to stop him from worrying. "Hey, I can see that you're worried right now; but you have nothing to worry about baby." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, before sitting down next to her and moving closer.
After which, he grabbed her hand and intertwined their fingers. "Sorry, just a habit." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, before smiling as she put her hand on his arm; leaning in to kiss him shortly afterwards, Gabby smiled as she kissed him softly. "I love you." Matt agreed with his wife as she told him that, just looking into her beautiful eyes this morning. "I love you too." Gabby just smiled at her loving husband before putting her hand on his cheek. "I promise baby, you can relax; remember, I'm not going to do anything that will put this pregnancy at risk." Matt agreed with his wife when she told him that, never having any doubt that she would ever do anything that would put the pregnancy at risk; after all, that was exactly what she did the last time she was pregnant (with the boys). "Hey, you have no need to tell me that. I know that you're not going to do that baby. Please don't think that's what's on my mind. Plus, I know that you were with Natalie; and I know that she's always going to have your back." Gabby agreed with Matt.
Smiling at him as he told her that, she smiled and then gave him another kiss. Laying her head down on his shoulder, Gabby smiled as she cuddled up to him and just held her close. Turning his head, Matt smiled as he kissed her forehead softly. At the same time, he listened to her whisper to him. "I already asked Natalie." Matt was a bit confused as he heard Gabby say that, before turning his head as he was unsure as to what she asked Natalie; the two of them having not spoken ahead of time about what Gabby ended up asking Natalie to do for her while she was in her cottage. "What did you ask her Gabby?" Natalie then smiled as she walked up to the couple, especially her friend. "I'll be sending you a bill for some more equipment that I need." Turning his head, Matt sat up a bit and just looked at Natalie. "What are you talking about Natalie?" Natalie laughed a bit, before looking at Gabby. "Does he not understand what you asked me yet?" Gabby then turned to look at Matt again. "Matt, I want to introduce you to our OB/GYN for the pregnancy."
"Matt then realized that. "Oh, you want to get some tools for you to be able to…" Natalie agreed with her friend (and employer) when he asked her that, smiling at him. "Yes. That way, I can do what Gabby wants me to do. And that's make sure that she has the healthiest pregnancy in the entire world, especially after share shared her worries with me." Turning to look at Gabby, Matt was a bit confused; and in fact, he was starting to get worried as well. "Worries?" Gabby sighed as she looked at her husband, clearly able to see that he's getting quite worried right now. "Baby, take a breath and just listen to me. Remember, we got pregnant back-to-back, and that means that this is a high-risk pregnancy." Matt then realized that, agreeing with his beautiful wife as he proceeded to lean a kiss on her forehead. "Yeah, that make sense." Looking at Matt as she stood next to him, she put her hand on his shoulder and smiled. "I promise Matt, you can trust your wife in my hands." Matt smiled as he heard Natalie tell him that, well aware that's the case.
"Hey, of course I know that Natalie. Did you really ever think that I wouldn't trust you with my beautiful wife's health?" Natalie shook her head when Matt asked her that, before smiling at him. After which, she walked over to Will so that she can sit down with him and relax this morning; but first, she walked over to her sister-in-law this morning. "How are you feeling this morning Alex?" Alex smiled as she looked up at her sister-in-law, going to get up so that she can hug her. "I'm doing good. And I'm quite happy right now." Natalie agreed with Alex as she got close to her sister-in-law, proceeding to hug her. "Remember what I told you by the way, if you're ever worried…" Alex laughed, agreeing with her sister-in-law when she said that; after all, she's well aware of that fact. "Natalie, take a breath and relax okay? I promise that I'll do just that, and please do not make my husband worry when he has no reason to be worried right now." Jay laughed as he walked over to Alex, as that will never happen; he will always be worried for her while she's pregnant.
And she's well aware of that fact, which is why she decided to walk over to him. Wrapping her arms around him shortly afterwards, Alex smiled as she cuddled up to the man of her dreams. Jay then proceeded to wrap his arms around her as well, pressing his lips to her forehead as they held each other close; after which, he bent down and proceeded to kiss his beautiful wife softly. At the same time, his sister-in-law walked over to Stella this morning. Getting close to her, Natalie smiled as she bent down. "Before I sit down, I want to check on you. How are you feeling Stella?" Turning her head to look at Natalie, Stella smiled as she asked her how she's feeling. "Thanks for asking Natalie, I'm glad that you asked me that; unlike my best friend." Turning her head to look away from her husband after hearing Stella say that, Gabby snapped a bit. "Last time I checked Stella, I'm pregnant, and I have two sons to take care of." Stella gulped when Gabby said that, well aware that was her snapping voice. "Right, of course." At the same time, Matt sighed.
Putting his hand on her back, Matt took a breath before getting closer to her; kissing the side of her head, Matt then proceeded to whisper in her ear. "Hey, take a breath for me baby. Take a breath and relax, okay?" Gabby agreed with her husband when he told her to take a breath and relax, before going to grab his hand. Intertwining their fingers again, Gabby smiled as she went to grab some of her water and took a sip. After all, if there was one thing that she knew; it was that she needed to relax right now, and that was due to the fact that she was pregnant. Wrapping his arm around Gabby as he held her close to him, Matt smiled as he kissed her forehead again. And that got Gabby a bit concerned, because the last thing she wanted was for Matt to start getting worried. Putting his hand on her leg after wrapping his arm around her, Matt smiled as he kissed the side of her head and just held her close. Afterwards, Matt smiled as he turned his head once again and looked at their sons who are currently sitting down in their chairs. And they were cute.
Turning his head, Matt smiled as he looked at Gabby before pointing to Matteo and Noah in their chairs; turning her head shortly afterwards, Gabby smiled as they looked really cute. I mean, they are adorable babies. "I can't wait to see what our daughter is going to look like." Turning to look at Gabby as she said that, Stella smiled. "Let me guess, you think that you're having a girl?" Gabby agreed with Stella when she asked her that, smiling. "Yeah, so we're going to have to get to work; because last time I checked, I do not want to have to pay for baby clothes when I can design them myself." That's when Gabby heard her niece Eva (finally) come back outside. "I wouldn't mind helping out." However, Antonio later vetoed that. "Yeah, that's not happening. You're going to concentrate on your studies Miss Eva." Eva sighed when her dad said that, before agreeing with him; at least, she did until her aunt spoke up. "Antonio, she can help to earn her education some more." Antonio laughed, before agreeing with his sister as she said that today.
That's when Eva came to wrap her arms around Gabby. "Feliz cumpleaños Tia Gabby." Gabby smiled as she heard her sobrina (niece) say that to her. "Gracias Eva." Eva smiled as she heard her aunt say that, before walking away so that she can sit with her papa. "So, your brother isn't going to be joining us today?" Eva sighed as she looked at her father. "I thought that the shower I took would wake him up, but it didn't work. Sorry dad, but I give up." Antonio laughed as he heard his daughter say that, before looking at his sister. "Gabby, I'm going to go get Diego okay?" Gabby agreed with her brother when he said that, until she heard her mom come out. "Where are you going Antonio? We're celebrating Gabby's birthday with breakfast together today." Camila then smiled as she carried some pancakes and berries over to Gabby. "Here we go sweetheart." Gabby smiled as she heard her mom say that, after which Matt reached up to help her give his plate to him. However, the plates that she had in her hands were not for him. "Nope."
Turning around, Camila smiled as she looked at her son. "Antonio, can you come inside and help me with making some breakfast? I need some hands." That's when all of the women turned to look at their respective husbands, not too happy over the fact that their husbands are all sitting there. "Uhm, boys?" Matt, Jay, Kelly, and Will all then turned to look at their respective wives; with Matt speaking first. "We have two kids and a…" Gabby just looked at Matt when he tried to play that card. "And I have four capable women here to help me take care of them, along with myself." Jay then added on. "What about the dogs?" Alex turned her head and then looked at Max and Andy as they relaxed together. "Seems like they're keeping each other company, so no reason to play that card." Jay sighed, before getting up so that they can head inside. "Fine, let's go make breakfast boys." Gabby laughed, shaking her head as Jay said that. "Matt, make sure that you make breakfast the way I liked it while I was pregnant with the boys."
Getting up again, Matt smiled as he bent down to kiss the top of her head. "Of course, dear." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, smiling as he walked away. That was, until she heard Matteo start to cry. Taking a breath, Matt looked at Gabby. "Want me to get him for you?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her whether she wanted him to get Matteo for her (ahead of him going to make them some breakfast). "Would you?" Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she asked him that, before going to get Matteo for her.
Coming back from getting Matteo, Matt smiled as he looked at his beautiful wife who currently had her hands out so that she could grab him. After all, that's exactly what she wants to have right now. She wants to hold her baby boy in her arms, and she wants to cuddle up to him on her birthday. "Hey Matteo, it seems like mommy wants to hold you in her arms." Gabby smiled as she heard her husband tell her that, before watching as he walked over to her; after which, Matt smiled as he set their little guy in her arms. Afterwards, Matt smiled as he looked at his beautiful wife and sat down with her. At the same time, he heard Antonio come out of the house with some food. "Hey Gabby?" Turning to look at her brother, Gabby smiled at him. "What's up Antonio?" Antonio smiled at his sister when she asked him what's up, before going ahead with making a 'dad joke'. "The sky." Looking at his father as he heard him say that, Diego shook his head when he said that. "Yeah, still not funny dad." Turning around, Antonio looked at his son and smiled.
"Oh wow. Look who's finally blessing us with his presence." Diego snickered when he heard his father say that, before sharking his head. "Yeah, it's summer break; means that I get to sleep in over the summer." Matt agreed with Diego when he said that, well aware that was something that he probably wants to do all the time. "Well, I most definitely agree with you there." Turning around, Antonio just looked at his brother-in-law. "Did you seriously just say that?" Gabby then turned to look at Matt, agreeing with her brother when it comes to her disappointment over what Matt just said. "Yeah, did you really just say that Matt?" Matt was shocked when he heard Gabby say that. "Seriously? You're taking his side?" Looking at her husband when he told her that, Gabby got up before moving to whisper in his ear. "Remember that it's my birthday, and that I'm pregnant…which makes me tired." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that. "Oh, I'm not worried about that whatsoever." Gabby just looked at Matt when he said that, shocked that he said that.
"Excuse me?" Looking at her husband, Gabby then decided that she didn't need him out here anymore. "You know what, I think just decided that I want my husband to help with breakfast after all; so get up, and leave now Mr. Casey." Matt just looked at Gabby when she said that. "What? You can't take care of…" Gabby just looked at her husband as he told her that, not that happy with him. "You know what? I'm going to shut up and go do what I need to do." Gabby agreed with her husband when he told her that, before watching as he got up. After which, he got up and proceeded to kiss Gabby softly. "Love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that; after which, Camila spoke to her son-in-law. "Oh, Matthew?" Matt agreed with Camila when she said that, smiling at her. "Yes?" Camila smiled at her son-in-law. "Can you get me a cup of tea please?" Matt agreed with his mother-in-law when she asked him for some tea, Matt smiled at her. "Of course, Camila, I'll be right back with some tea for you." Gabby then looked at her husband.
"Can you make me some too Matt? You know the one I like, the one that calms my stomach down when I'm pregnant?" Matt smiled when he heard Gabby say that. "Like now?" Gabby agreed with her loving husband as he told her that, smiling as he walked away so that he can go make her some breakfast on her birthday; which is something that he should've done a while earlier, as it is now late in the day. That's when Gabby felt somebody grab her wrist, which then prompted her to turn her head; seeing that it was Natalie, Gabby was confused. "What exactly are you doing?" Natalie sighed. "Just checking your pulse as I checked on the time. It's pretty late, and you haven't ate yet." Gabby sighed and agreed with the doctor when she said that. After which, Gabby turned to look at her sobrina (niece). "Eva?" Eva smiled as she looked at her aunt. "Yes tia Gabby?" Gabby smiled. "Can you ask your tio Matt to give you one of my granola bars that I used to always have while I was pregnant? Tell him that Natalie says I need to have one."
Eva agreed with her aunt when she asked her that, before smiling at her. "Of course." She then got up, smiling as she walked away so that she can go get her a bar this morning. Why she didn't ask her husband before he left, she doesn't understand; then again, he did leave before she could ask him to give her a granola bar.
Walking inside as her aunt asked her to do so, Eva smiled as she walked in to hear her father and uncle speaking. "Okay, so how in the world do we do this again?" Seeing that her father was looking at the kettle, Eva shook her head. "Did you seriously forget how to make tea?" Turning around to look at the young lady after they all heard her come in, they smiled at her. "What's up Eva? Everything okay?" Eva agreed with her father when she heard him ask him if she was okay, as she most definitely was; but the one who wasn't okay was Gabby. "Dr. Manning asked me to come get a granola bar for Gabby as she needs to have something to eat." Hearing Eva say that, Matt got a bit nervous. "Okay then." Jay then proceeded to speak to Matt. "Can you grab another one for Alex? Maybe give her one too. I mean, if Gabby needs one; then I'm sure that Alex needs one too." Matt agreed with his friend when he said that, before going ahead with grabbing two granola bars; after which, he turned around and walked over to Eva. "Here you go Eva."
Eva agreed with her uncle when he said that, before smiling as she proceeded to turn back around so that she can go outside and give the granola bars to her aunt, as well as Ms. Halstead. At the same time, Jay turned to look at Matt. "Thanks for letting Alex have a bar." Matt shook his head when he heard Jay say that, not needing him to thank him. "Hey, don't even bother thanking me. Jay, I know what it's like to have a wife who's pregnant with twins. I know that you need to make sure that they stay fed." Jay agreed with his friend when he said that, smiling at him. "So, what are the odds that you really aren't going to be working today?" Matt looked at him when he said that. "Uhm, no. We are not even talking about this; we aren't working today, remember?" Hearing Matt say that, Gabby yelled inside. "GOT THAT RIGHT MISTER! NOW, CAN YOU GET ME BRUNCH? IT'S TOO LATE FOR JUST BREAKFAST." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, as that's most definitely the truth. "Oh, we can definitely do that. I think that's a good idea." Antonio agreed.
"Then let's make some pancakes, and maybe even some other stuff to make sure that they can be full for a while." Matt agreed with Antonio when he said that, well aware of the fact that Gabby is going to need a bunch of food. "Maybe then we can take a swim." Antonio agreed with Matt when he said that, obviously loving that idea; and it seemed that Jay thought the same way. "Oh, I love that idea." Matt smiled. "Is it too soon to bring the boys swimming?" Will shook his head when Matt asked if it was too soon to take the twins swimming, as it wasn't. "I think that they'd enjoy that. But you can't do it for too long." Matt agreed with the doctor when he said that, smiling due to the fact that he's more than ready to take a swim with both his wife and their sons; it's going to be a lot of fun. "I'm going to really like taking the boys swimming for the first time." Antonio smiled as he heard Matt say that, as it brought back memories. "I remember when me and Laura took the kids swimming for the first time, it was a bunch of great memories."
Matt smiled as he heard Antonio say that, well aware that was something that he was going to enjoy too. "Well, I can't wait then." Antonio smiled as he heard Matt say that, clearly able to see that was the case. "So, are you excited to be a dad of three?" Matt smiled as he heard Antonio ask him whether he's excited to be a dad of three. "Oh, I am so excited to be a dad of three." Antonio smiled as he heard Matt say that, well aware that's the case. "I'm glad that's the case. Now listen, we need to make some breakfast for everybody; then we go take that swim that we all want to take." Jay and Antonio both agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case; after all, they all want to get in the pool as it's hot here in California.
