Hi Readers: I hope that you guys enjoyed the last chapter, as well as the name that the couple have chosen for their hypothetical daughter. And I promise, that someday we'll put that name into use (and practice). Want to know what I mean? You'll have to keep reading my story to find out what I mean. But for now, I am going to do something else. And that's re-write Chapter Seventy-Six. I didn't like how short the chapter was, and I wanted to re-write it to make it longer. Hope you enjoy the new version of the chapter.
Chapter Seventy-Six
Nap Time, Business Time
When she woke up in bed after her afternoon nap, she woke up alone; which is most definitely not something that she enjoys, but that didn't mean that Gabby didn't already expect that was going to be the case. As much as her husband told her that he wasn't going to work on her birthday, she knew that he wouldn't be able to resist working for a bit; after all, her husband is very dedicated to the business that he's creating, and he's also very dedicated to his staff. And that's why he's working right now, to make sure that he shows his continued dedication to all of his staff, especially in a time of instability for the company. The reason that the company isn't as stable right now? That would be due to the fact that they are moving their operations from Hawaii to Los Angeles, which is something that Gabby is really happy about; but that didn't mean that it was going to be easy, especially for Matt and their corporate lawyers. Never could Matt have ever imagined that there would be so much paperwork, just to allow him to move his family to Los Angeles.
And that was something that Matt was in the midst of speaking to his legal team about, the location where their business is incorporated. "Is it too late to change this company from it's current state of incorporation, to the state of Delaware? I heard that if we do it there, then we can make things much easier on us. It means that we can move around the country much easier." That's when Gabby heard her husband's lawyer John Serhant (Corporate Affairs, Hawaii Office) speak to him this afternoon. "I can only assume that this means that you and your family have changed your mind when it comes to where you're going to be living?" Matt took a breath when he heard John ask him that, well aware of the fact that he's going to have to talk to all of his staff about the changes that he's going to be making when it comes to the business; along with also offering them the chance to move (with their jobs) to Los Angeles. At least some of them. Matt can't help but wonder whether he can still keep some of the jobs in Hawaii, as they may go there at times.
"Yes, me and my wife have decided to move to California; I mean, on a full-time basis. That doesn't mean that we aren't going to be visiting Hawaii at times, or that I'm not going to be working at our Hawaii office if required." Gabby smiled as she heard her husband say that, well aware of the fact that he's going to be working in Hawaii when they visit; and that's due to the fact that, as she just said, her husband is very dedicated to his work. "I hope that everything is okay, and that you aren't moving to California because you are having problems here in Hawaii? Is it the press again?" Hearing Hannah Ryan, the attorney for ELLA Apparel say that; Matt decided to shut that down. "Oh no, that's not it at all. We just like being here more, and we're happy over the fact that we're here in California. That, and we aren't going to be table to travel for a while based on the news that we've just received; news that I'm most definitely happy about." Hannah agreed with her boss when he said that, before speaking to him: "Am I allowed to ask what that news is?"
Mr. Serhant, Hannah Ryan's boss, just proceeded to shut that down for a moment. "Hannah, please keep this appropriate; this is a business conversation, not a personal conversation." Matt snickered as he heard John say that, not really caring about that. "It's okay. It's actually the reason we're going to be staying here for a while, and I really do thank you for allowing us to meet virtually." John agreed with his client when he said that, more than happy to meet virtually with the CEO. "Of course, Mr. Casey; we can always meet virtually if you need us, or you can go to my office in California." Matt agreed with John, his lawyer for Corporate Affairs; after which, he smiled at him. "And I know that very well. But there's actually a reason we're all on here, and that's because I need your help with the fact that we're moving to California; and that's because we need to figure out how we can move our operations here, and the legal procedures that come with that. Is there stuff that we're required to do so that you can move the company here?"
Mr. Serhant agreed with his boss when he said that, before smiling at him. "I think the best bet would be to register your company as a Delaware Corporation." Matt agreed with John when he said that, having read about those in the past. "Yes, I do believe that would be very helpful; that way, me and my wife…along with our three children can run the company from wherever we want to live." That's when Hannah put the clues together, realizing another reason why her boss is moving to California. "For those who didn't get what I was saying, I'm trying to say that we're pregnant with our third children." All of the lawyers agreed with Matt when he said that, all of them being extremely happy for the father. "Congratulations Mr. Casey, please send our best wishes to Gabby as well." The three lawyers said together, which made all of them laugh; they laughed because of the odds of them saying that all at once. After which, John proceeded to speak up; bringing them back to business, he smiled. "Would you like me to speak with Mr. Carson about that?"
Mr. Carson being Adam Carson, Matt's tax attorney in his California Office; and that was why Matt agreed with John when he asked him whether he should talk to him (on his behalf). "I would very much appreciate that John, as I'm sure that he can figure it out for me." John agreed with his boss when he said that, but he could also see that Matt was a bit overwhelmed at the moment. "I can only assume that you're a bit overwhelmed at the moment with everything that needs to happen?" Matt took a breath, before agreeing with John as he asked him that; after all, he most definitely is a bit overwhelmed when it comes to all of this. He never imagined just how much legal paperwork that he'd have to do when it came to starting (and moving) a business; but still, he feels like it's worth it, based solely on the number of jobs that he's created with the wealth that he's recently been blessed with. He wants to give back.
And that's exactly what he's already done, and will continue to do as he continues to build the company (with Gabby's help). "Now, of course, we're also going to have to adjust my billing address; and that means that I'm going to want to get my mail in Los Angeles." The lawyers all agreed with the CEO when he said that, after which Linda Errs (Contracts) spoke up. "Just curious Mr. Casey, I can't help but want to ask about what this means for the entire group of staff that we have here in the Hawaii Office?" Matt smiled as he heard Linda ask him that, as he most definitely does not want to worry any of his staff when it comes to their jobs. "I do not want anybody to worry about their jobs, as they are all safe in Hawaii; if people want to work there, they will continue to be able to work there. However, any current staff who wish to stay at the new main office; they will have first pick when it comes to them being offered a chance to move to Los Angeles." Linda agreed with Matt when he said that, glad that's going to be the case.
"Would you like me to send a memo about that around here? Let people know that there are business opportunities, with guaranteed positions in Los Angeles?" Matt smiled as Linda asked him that, as he most certain did not know whether he wanted to do that; then again, he did like the idea of having some of his existing staff come join them in Los Angeles. That way, they already trust them when it comes to them working on critical projects. "I haven't really thought about that yet Linda, and I am really only talking to you as I need to get it off my plate; as me telling you this allows you guys to get to work on the documents that you guys need to work on, related to the move from Hawaii to Los Angeles. I hope that I can trust you guys to do that without me as much as possible?" John agreed with his boss when he said that. "I believe we would only need your signature at times." Matt agreed with John when he said that, as that made sense. "And I promise, I will give you my signature whenever you need it." That's when Matt opening his e-mail.
After all, he does need to send an e-mail to one of his executives in Hawaii; one of which is not currently on the call, which would be his Chief Technology Officer. As a tech guy, he must know a way for him to do signatures from California for documents in Hawaii.

SUBJECT: Signature Technology
Hi Gabriel and David:
I am writing you today to ask you both to get something set up for me, and to try and find a technology that I can use. I have yet to say this to the rest of the company, as I am doing it slowly; but I am going to be moving to California (along with the rest of my family), and that means that I need to figure out how to send documents in Hawaii from California. If you both could work together and find me a good technology to use for signatures on legal documents, and other documents, of course. Then I would really appreciate that. Please make sure that it can be used by all executives, and not just myself; you have a budget of $1,000 for the technology. I will send a message to the CFO to make sure that they release funds to you. Thanks again.

Hitting send on the e-mail, Matt smiled as he was glad that he just sent that e-mail; the way it just came out of his brain so easily was really nice. Yet, he also knew that was not the only e-mail that he needed to compose at the moment; rather, he still needs to compose another e-mail to his Chief Financial Officer in order to get him to release the money that his heads of technology are going to need to pay for somehow. So, that was the next e-mail that he went ahead and wrote; but first, he decided to continue speaking to his lawyers. "Sorry, I'm just in the midst of writing some e-mails." John agreed with Matt when he said that. "I think that we're pretty much done with everything. Maybe other than us congratulating you again." Matt laughed as he heard John say that, continuing to speak to him. "Well, I'm really happy that we're pregnant again; and I thank you all for the congratulations." One of Matt's lawyers agreed with him. "I just hope that you come back to Hawaii someday so that we can meet your third little one."
Matt agreed with his other lawyer; Jamie Bland, Esq. when he mentioned that he wants to meet the baby. "Of course, Jamie, I promise that we will come there sometime. Now listen, I am going to just let you guys go so that I can send another e-mail out; that way, I won't get in trouble with my wife. She didn't want me to work today as it's her birthday." Mr. Serhant laughed as he heard Matt say that, as that most definitely is not a good idea. "Oh boy, if Amelia caught me doing that; I'd be sleeping on the sofa tonight." Matt laughed as he heard John say that. "How's Amelia anyways? I know you said that she wasn't feeling the best in one of your e-mails." John agreed with Matt when he said that. "Thanks for asking, but she's feeling better. Now, how about you get that last e-mail out? Then, you can concentrate on your wife?" Matt agreed with his lawyer when he said that. "Oh believe me, I plan on doing that. Thanks again for doing that. Have a good day everybody." They all agreed with the CEO when he said that, proceeding to hang up.
Hanging up as well, Matt smiled as he continued with working on what he was working on right now; the CEO needing to send another e-mail to some of his staff. Luckily, he can send them one e-mail all at once. It's so much easier.

SUBJECT: Update re: Operations
Hello Casey Employees:
I am writing you all today so that I can give you an update with regards to something that I hope you can all share with your staff, if they have not read the e-mail that I am also sending to them. And this e-mail is just to give you an update on the future of the company, and it's operations. But first, I would like to let you all know that there's going to be a change coming, but in no way does it mean that jobs are at risk. And that's something that I want to make clear; and that I want you to make it clear to all of your staff at our office in Honolulu. And that would be that all jobs currently at the offices in Honolulu, are safe; and there will be no layoffs. However, that doesn't mean that some jobs in Hawaii will not be subject to relocation in the future. More specifically, to Los Angeles.
And that's why I'm giving this update to you all with regards to the company's operations, about the fact that we're moving them to Los Angeles; and that's due to the fact that me and my wife have recently learned that we're pregnant with our third child, and that means that we're going to be staying here in California for the foreseeable future. And since we're already going to be staying here for a while, it's got us thinking about where we'd like to be in general; and we believe that we'd like to be in California. At the same time, our corporate operations will become split between Hawaii and California. While the details are not yet all ironed out, you will be the first ones to know when they're finalized. Yet, at doesn't mean that you can't contact me. I am available for any questions.
Thank you for your time.

Taking a breath after writing the e-mail, Matt then proceeded to read some more of the e-mails that he has; after all, he does need to keep the business running while he's here for a moment. And of course, it's also due to the fact that he doesn't yet know that Gabby is awake at the moment. Had he know, then he most definitely would not be here at the moment; rather, he'd be in bed with her. But right now, that's not the case; which is why Gabby decided to do something. Getting up out of bed this afternoon, Gabby smiled as she proceeded to make her way over to the man she loves (and craves) more than anything in the entire world. And hopefully, she can get a bit of intimate time with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; heck, maybe they can even talk about the dream that she just had. The dream that she had about what they're going to do on their next anniversary, with their baby girl Grace Elizabeth. Just walking over to her husband at his desk, Gabby smirked as she walked over clad in nothing but her underwear.
And she's well aware of the fact that Matt is going to love that, without a doubt. Walking up behind Matt's chair, Gabby smiled as she leaned over him and put her hands on his chest. "Hey handsome." Turning around, Matt got a bit nervous; at the same time, he also got a bit turned on. "Hey." Smirking, Gabby proceeded to grab his shirt and tugged on it. "Off." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby tell him to take off his shirt, which he did shortly afterwards; after all, he does need to please his birthday girl. "Sorry for…" Shaking her head, Gabby smiled. "Not yet." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, before watching as she climbed into his lap. Moving his hands to her sides, Matt smirked as he looked up at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. Running his hands up her back, Matt smiled as he kissed her softly. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, wrapping her arms around his head. "I love you too, and I am so happy that you're shirtless now." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, before turning back around.
After which, he moved close to his desk; that way, she won't have the ability to move away from his chest. And that most certain is something that she wants to enjoy with her man. She wants to have her man's body right against her chest, and that's exactly what she has right now. Running his hand up and down her side, Matt smiled as he leaned up and proceeded to kiss her softly; taking things nice and slow with Gabby afterwards, Matt smirked due to the fact that he's really happy right now. Running his hand up her back, Matt smirked as he tugged her body against his chest some more. After which, Gabby grabbed the back of his head while kissing him; however, Matt used this as an opportunity to bend down and kiss her neck. "Oh baby." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, loving that she just moaned for him. "God, I love you so much." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she ran her hands down his chest. After which, she turned her head and leaned in to kiss her softly; taking things nice and slow with him, Gabby just smirked.
"God, you seem to be quite hormonal right now baby." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, smirking. "Oh, I am definitely hormonal; especially after the nice dream that I had while I took my nap." Looking at Gabby as she told him that she had a nice dream, Matt smirked. "Oh, did you now?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smiling as she ran her hands down his chest. "Oh, I most certainly did. And I am so glad that I did. You want to hear about it?" Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, as he most definitely does want to hear about what she dreamed about this afternoon. "Of course, I do, but I need to get you a snack first." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smirking; that was, until she heard her mother come into their room. "Actually Matt, I just…" Wrapping his arms around Gabby when he heard Camila, he got nervous. "Camila, not wearing appropriate clothes right now." Camila was confused when she heard that. "Oh, sorry. Wait, why are you…" Gabby then proceeded to snap at her mother. "Mother!"
Camila then understood what that mean, she had to leave. "Of course. Want me to leave the snack that I made for you guys on the bed?" Gabby sighed, agreeing with her mother after she heard her mom ask her that. "Yes please." After which, Matt leaned back and looked up at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world; kissing her softly, Matt just smiled at his beautiful wife. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, before kissing him again; at the same time, Camila saw what was on the ground. And that was Gabby's bra. "Sorry guys." Matt agreed with Camila when she said that. "Just leave the snack on the bed okay?" Camila agreed with Matt when he said that, before proceeding to walk out of their room again; that way, they can be alone. At the same time, Matt kissed her shoulder before running his hands up and down her back. "I love you Gabby." Gabby agreed with Matt as she held him close, breathing as she wanted to make sure that she relaxed for the sake of their child right now.
Her mom just left their room this afternoon, taking a breath due to the fact that he knew that Gabby was still nervous; at the same time, Gabby leaned back and looked at Matt. "Sorry for being all…" Leaning in, Matt kissed his beautiful wife softly. "No, no apologies." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, before putting her hands on his face. After which, she took things nice and slow with her husband. Running her hand down his face, Gabby smiled as she's really happy with her dreamy husband; after which, he picked her up in his arms and wrapped her legs around his waist. "Care for me to carry you to bed?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her whether she was interested in him carrying her to bed. "Oh, I most definitely want you to carry me to bed; after will, we can hold each other close as we enjoy that snack." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, kissing her softly as he carried the woman he loves more than anything back to bed; the place where they want to hold each other close, as they enjoy a nice snack with each other.
