In a chapter or two, I will be introducing most of the characters from DC. I may add more as I go along. So you know, Q is Queen. It is just for someone to have the last name Queen in this era. Also beware of swearing from now on mostly from Jason and Gwaine. I will bleep them, just so you get the jest of the word.
Setting: Camelot, lower town
Time: Three months before the twins birthday. Set in season 3-4, during the great peace. Arthur will be 23? I am sure its wrong but I don't feel like doing math. Dick will be 31 and Jason will be 29.
Yes, the majority of Merlin's and Arthur's adventures will have occurred, Arthur dose know about most of it. Balinor was Merlin's uncle, on his mother's side. Also Jason was included at the knights of the round table. Uther is insane, but he still has most ruling over things.
Third Person
Arthur was walking though the lower town, with several of his knights. Sir Gwaine was eating an apple and flirting with a woman, Sir Leon and Sir Elyan were checking the displays of weaponry. Sir Lancelot and Sir Percival were having their armor fixed by the blacksmith. Arthur was trying to lighten the mood Sir Jason was in. Jason felt almost as responsible for the Lady Morgana turning on the kingdom as Uther did. He saw the signs, but he did nothing to help her. Instead he was insuring the 3 of the rest of the king's wards and the princess.
Arthur didn't want his knight, friend, and brother, to feel this way. In Arthur's opinion, Jason was retrying to pin himself for the guilt he felt for not saving his mistress, and his daughter. Once Ruby's birthday occurred, it would be 13 years that they had seen nothing from their missing princess.
"Come on Jason. If you don't lighten up, I am going to have to listen to Gwaine babble all day."
Arthur had managed to convince his father to give Jason a day off. Saying that every man deserved a day off when it was well earned. Eventually, his father had agreed.
Jason huffed, "You'd deserve it"
"Welcome back to the land of speech! I thought you were trying to see who couldn't say a word all day. You or Perivcal."
"Thank you for the welcome back to the land of speech. However, I didn't have a bet with Percy. Gwaine may have placed one though."
"I certainly did not!" Gwaine yelled.
"How much did you lose Gwaine?" Elyan asked.
"That's none of your bussiness" Gwaine clamped a hand over his mouth. The prince and his knights laughed.
"Have you given any thought on what you will get Ruby this year? I know its early, but you love to procrastinate." Arthur mentioned to Jason.
Jason grunted at that statement. "Frist, you are worse with putting gifts off till the last minute. Second, I know what I want to give her but I am forbidden to. The truth."
Arthur rubbed his forehead. This was the one argument that was discussed for seven years between the two. Arthur fully agreed, but his father would not see sense. He didn't feel like bring it up now that Morgana had betrayed the kingdom. "Jason, you know that you can't. I wouldn't dare speak to the king of the matter now."
Jason sighed, looking up at the sky with his eyes closed. "I know. I know. But the truth is always better to hear, even if its harsh. I just-" Jason stopped mid-sentence. A girl had bummed into the giant of a knight. She appeared to be about 12 summers. Surprisingly she wore a white tunic, with brown pants. Her long black hair was pulled back out of her face with a red cloth (my equivalent to a headband), her skin was tan, but not completely. Her small face reminded the prince of someone long ago, but he couldn't place it. Her eyes are really what shocked him. Deep blue, like staring into the depths of the sea. The eyes seemed so familiar.
"Sorry." The girl said, she seemed a bit lost.
"It's quite alright child." Jason said soothingly, he really did know how to calm down children. However, at the word 'child' the girl flinched, but shook it off. Jason's expression drew into deep concern. He knelt before the girl. "Kid, where is your family?"
"I.. I lost them. I have never been in a big crowd and.." She was entirely scared.
Jason gave her a huge smile, "How about we find your family kid. I am Sir Jason, this is Prince Arthur."
"Hi" came from the girl in a small voice.
Arthur knelt himself, eye to eye with the girl. He now noticed a simple chain around her neck, that was tucked under her tunic. 'Probably a necklace her mother made for her.' Arthur thought. He could also see scars on her arms. Her selves only traveled half way down her thin arms. Arthur frowned, then asked "What's you name?"
"Abigail"
"Well Abigail lets go find your family. Who did you come with?" Jason asked pleasantly.
"My brothers, sister, and friends"
Arthur stood up trying to see if there was anyone frantic in the crowd. There was, a tall man with black hair. He was jumping to try to see over the crowd. "I think I found someone you know." Arthur stated. Jason got up himself, to see where Arthur was pointing. When Jason saw the man, his breath hitched.
Arthur looked at Jason, "Jason, what's wrong?"
"It can't be" Jason whispered to himself. The black haired man saw the knight and prince staring at him. The man's eyes went wide, and he nearly chocked. Then the man came running over to them. Jason however was frozen in place.
"Jay!" The man screamed and hugged Jason. Arthur was taken aback. The man hugging his knight was tall but not all tall as he thought. His wide grin filled with joy, pain, disbelief. Then the man put his shoulders on his knight taking him in. Arthur noticed that the man had a handsome face, but a bit babyish. The girl looked suddenly overjoyed as well.
"Dick!" The girl yelled, pulling at the man's leg. The man looked down at the ground, and laughed agian, with pure delight on his face.
"Ab's! Don't you ever run off like that again.'' He said with a smile still plastered on his face. Arthur was suddenly reminded of his little brother, Merlin, and his stupid grin. Then the man turned back to Jason. "Jay. It's really you. What happened to your hair?"
The man pulled on it. "Ow! Really? We barely reunite for one minute and you are already pulling my hair?" Jason yelled.
The man just laughed. Then some thought struck him. "Jason. Everyone is here"
"What do you 'everyone is here'? You can't possibly mean the entire family is here?"
"Umm.. It is a bit more complicated then that."
"What do you mean, Dick?"
Before this mysterious Dick could answer, a girl's voice roared from halfway across the market. 'Jason is a hard man to miss due to his height and build.' Arthur thought. "JASON TODD WYANE!"
(side note: I am using their last names from the comics as their middle name)
"Rose?!" Jason yelled a grin on his face. The girl that yelled came running over. She had blonde hair, that nearly looked white, sharp ice blue eyes, a small figure, and a short tattered orange dress. She jumped on top of Jason, kneeing him in the soft spot, then she proceeded to curse him out. She was on top of his chest. Arthur took a step back, unsure what to do. He wanted to help his knight, but Jason knew these people.
"JASON TODD WAYEN! HOW THE HELL ARE YOU ALIVE?! FOR 13 YEARS YOU-"
Jason, still rolling in pain, grabbed the back of her head and forced her head down to kiss her. She willingly accepted. When he let her go Jason said, "So how is my lovely assassin? Please don't say you killed your brothers."
She huffed. "Imbecile. I did not kill them yet. Don't think your off the hook." She said getting off of him.
"Didn't think you unhooked from the last time we saw each other." He got up, still hunched over. By now, the rest of the knights had gathered around the scene. "You look beautiful as ever"
The girl blushed. Before she could speak, Arthur held his hand. "Rose was it? We have some questions of our own. Could you please refrain from killing him till they're answered?"
She huffed, "Who the hell are you, thinking you can boss me around, pretty boy?" Gwaine had to stuff his hand in his mouth to keep from bursting with laughter.
"I thought that was Dickhead's nickname?" Jason observed. He managed to stand straighter.
"It can apply to more than one person"
"I am not sure if that is compliment or not in this context" The man called Dick spoke. At some point he had picked up the girl, resting her on his hip.
"I am Prince Arthur. Do you mind telling me why you attacked Sir Jason?" Arthur intervened before a another argument could break out.
The man's and older girl's eyes went wide. Staring at the prince then at Jason.
The man spoke up. "Since when are YOU a Knight?!"
Jason cringed. "Umm, long story. Arthur this is Dick, my elder brother. This is Rose. We fell in love back in the village" Everyone's eyes went wide, then they heard more yelling.
(This event above roughly took an half hour. )
Setting: same as above, just at the gates
Time: At the same time as the story above.
Dick's pov
We are all heading to Camelot. Our village burned years ago, not long after I brought Abigail home with me. Every adult in our village was killed, we managed to fight them off. So, we took what we could salvage, buried our dead, and burned the village. We wanted the man who had sent the raid, to believe that almost no one survived. Hopefully he won't hunt us then. We have traveling in the woods for six years, heading on seven. All of us kids managed to survive. We are not kids anymore. I married Barbra five years ago, we have a daughter now Mari. Only four, and she has become the light of my life. Though I must admit, I feel similar to Abigail. She is a mixture of little sister and daughter to me. Including Mari, there 22 of us that survived the attack. Somehow I was voted as leader of our traveling band of misfits. A majority have been cursed with some magical ability, about a fourth are Druids which is basically just the Wayne's are druids, then there are a few who don't have any enhanced ability of magic at all. I am fairly sure that is only Roy and his brother and sister who don't have magic.
When we entered the gates of Camelot we all gawked. The place was huge. I had Mari on my shoulders, Abigail was on Roy's. She is getting a little big for that, but neither of them care. She always enjoyed being carried around. I don't understand it. She makes sure on her birthday's, she was carried around a lot more then was warranted. Technically, Abigail didn't know when her birthday was. So we had just made it the day we arrived back to our village.
I glanced over to look at her, to make sure her hair tie was securely on. We had hidden the white streak beneath it, so she won't cause any suspicion.
"Roy, please put me down"
Roy chuckled. "What if I don't?"
''I'll call your girlfriend over"
Roy fanned mocked hurt, he loves Kori but she is a little clingy. "You Wouldn't dare"
"I do dare. Oh K-" Roy quickly set her down. She grinned at him. Her grins are so innocent, they sometimes remind me of Jay. I sigh, looking at the ground. I really miss Jay. I had pushed him, after father said terrible things. It wasn't right what I said, but I can't take it back now. My wife limped over to me.
Babs looked into my eyes, "Don't think of the past today." I nodded in agreement.
Suddenly I remember that Abby is off of Roy's shoulder's. I need to tell to stay close. She isn't use to crowds, she may not be able to pick out one heartbeat from another with all of these people. "Ab's I-" She was gone. "Abigail!"
Panic filled my heart. "Roy, where did she go?"
He looked just as flustered. "I just set her down, where-?"
I set Mari down, giving her to Babs. "I am going to find her. Roy, Rose, Grant, Jo, Wally. Abigail got lost, come with me the rest of you stick together."
We are running into the crowd to find her. I ran, I jumped to try to see no luck. "Abigail!" I ran again, I came to a stop and turned looking around for her. 'Where did you go?' I saw a man with blonde hair looking around. 'Mabey he found her, and he is helping her look?' He locked eyes with me, then said something. 'Where is Cass? I could use her lip reading abilities right now.' Then a man stood up. He had black hair, blue eyes, chiseled features. His skin was scared. He was wearing a simple red shirt and brown leather jacket. It can't be.
Jay. I run over, pushing my way through the crowd. I am ashamed to admit, once I saw my brother, I completely forgot about Abigail. He was too stunned to move. "Jay!" I hugged the air out of his lungs.
"Air" He whispered. I chuckled, stepping back to look at him. I still held onto his shoulder, I thought he would disappeared if I let him go. I just grinned, his look told me he couldn't believe it either. That's when I heard my name, and a tug at my pants.
"Ab's! Don't you ever run off like that again!" She nodded, but I was secretly happy that she did. She had found Jay. I turned back to Jason. I now am noticing he has a streak of white. I pull at it. "Jay. It's really you. What happened to your hair?"
"Ow! Really? We barely reunite for one minute and you are already pulling my hair?" Jason yelled.
I just laughed. Then some thought struck me. Everyone is hear, were a family again. "Jason. Everyone is here"
"What do you 'everyone is here'? You can't possibly mean the entire family is here?"
"Umm.. It is a bit more complicated then that." How do I discreetly explain that only 22 of us are alive, from the entire village.
"What do you mean, Dick?" I hesitated to respond when I was saved for the time being. Rose's shrill scream pierced the air from halfway cross the market. 'Everyone is going to know somethings up.' I still grin, giddy because I have my little brother back.
"JASON TODD WYANE!"
(slight skip, you already read all of this)
'Prince Arthur himself?! Jay what have you gotten yourself into? A knight? How did you manage that?' Jason cringed. "Umm, long story. Arthur this is Dick, my elder brother. This is Rose. We fell in love back in the village" Everyone's eyes went wide, then they heard more yelling. Here comes what is left of out village.
Jason pov,
When I saw everyone from back home, I smiled ear to ear.
"ROY!" I yelled, he turned saw me and grinned. We went barreling at each other. I have always seen Roy as my brother, basically my twin who looks nothing like me, even if it isn't though blood. I got him in a headlock while he proceeded to head but me with his bow on his back. He managed to put me on my back, I looked up to see a freckled, orange haired, and green eyed speedster.
"Thought you could drop off the face of the earth and not tell us? That is so rude." Wally grinned over me.
"What can I say Wally, I am the rudest in the family. " Wally helped me up. Then he put one arm around my back.
"You are in so much trouble, and surprises." He whispered. I glance at him to try to see what he meant. Before I could get a good look, someone had kicked the back of my knee cap to make me fall.
I glanced around and saw Duke was awkward as ever but still very much happy, Tim is analyzing me trying to determine if I am really here, still with bags under his eyes 'Still have a addition to tea Timmy?' and finally a very mad Cass. I know Cass hit me. I don't care. I twisted and hugged her, picking her up in the process.
"Cass!" Just saying her name brings me so much joy. I put her down then she slapped me, and processed to curse me out in sign language. I just laugh, "Really am I all those things? You can clearly see I am not a zombie, and what do mean by jester suit? I literally wore this everyday when you were small!"
Gwaine roars with laughter. I completely forgot about the knights and prince before me. Sh!t. How am I suppose to tell five about this.
Gwaine is holding his stomach, "What did she just say?!"
"A long string of curses that you wouldn't dare say Gwaine." I called.
"And it is not going to be repeated. Is it Jason?" Barbra. I went to hug but I noticed three new things about her. One, their is a young kid with her. Two, a ring is around her finger. Three, she has a limp.
"Babs. Who is the kid? Who did you marry? And what the bloody hell happened to make you limp!?" I know Babs has always been able to take care of herself. How the hell did she let this happen to her?
"Last question, I will answer later. This Mari, she's four. She is my daughter, and Dick is her father." She grinned. I grin and punched my elder brother in the arm.
"What the hell was that for?"
"For finally asking her on date. What took you so long?"
Dick huffed. "I married her five years ago. Before that we were busy.''
"Busy with what?" Realization hit as I looked around. All I saw from my village were it's youth. No one older than Dick. But Dick had said 'everyone is here'. "Dick, where is Bruce? Alfred? All the old people?"
Dick hung his head. He still had the kid on his hip. She glared at me. 'Women and their glares. Talia's was just as bad.' I wince at the thought of Talia.
"Only... only 21 made it out alive. Were all here Jay. They killed Alfred, Bruce, Clark, Diana, Oliver. Everyone." Everyone who was listening went silent. 'Alfred the kindest old man alive? Clark a good man who took care of his kids? Diana everyone's surrogate mother?'
"Why? Who?" A cold edge came to my voice, that I usually reserve to put the four boys in their place.
Dick shook his head. "Not now Jay please."
Arthur then suggested that his father should be informed that so many new people were looking for sanctuary.
"Yeah." Then I grin evilly. "Wait till you met the quadtupiltes. They are Bruce's sons."
