Chapter Eighty-Seven
Taking it Easy – Part Two

It took him a while, but Matt was finally back in his and Gabby's room; and boy, did he know that he needed to apologize for how long it took for him to get food. He knew that Gabby was hungry, and that was why he should've rushed a bit more. But, as you know, he ended up getting into a conversation with Jay; and that then led to him being a bit delayed, not that it really mattered. I mean, it wasn't like it really took him long to prepare the lunch that they were going to enjoy with each other; he just had to heat up the food in the microwave, and now it was ready. But that wasn't the only thing that was ready, because so was his apology. "Sorry it took so long; I really didn't plan on being that long." Turning her head as she heard her husband walk back into the room, Gabby snickered as she looked up from the designs that she was currently working on. Okay, maybe not working on; more like admiring, as she planned on showing them for the first time to Matt today. Then again, she was also playing around with the colors of the design.

So yes, maybe she was working on them; and that was due to the fact that she didn't like them very much anymore, and that was why she was thinking about changing them. But that didn't matter right now. Rather, what mattered right now was her having lunch with her husband. "Oh, that's fine." But Matt could tell right away that was not the case, and that everything was not fine as he glanced at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Okay, I know that isn't the truth. You stuttered and had a delayed response. I know that sign anywhere Gabby, and that's a sign that you have something on your mind right now; and if you don't tell me what it is, then you're not getting some of your mom's leftover pasta from last night." Gabby just looked at her husband as he told her that, not very happy over the fact that he just told her that. "I may not be getting the leftover pasta, but our daughter will. Or do you want to deprive your precious princess of the food she needs to grow in her mommy's stomach?" Matt snickered a bit.

Walking over to their bed shortly afterwards, he went ahead and set his bowl of shrimp pasta on his side table; then, and only then, did he walk around their bed so that he could give Gabby her bowl of pasta. Smiling at his girl as he walked up to her, he went ahead and proceeded to set her bowl down on her side table. "Hey, look at me." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, before smiling at the man of her dreams as he sat down next to her. Putting his hand on her stomach once he was sitting down next to Gabby, Matt smirked as he went ahead and looked into her eyes. Doing the same, Gabby smiled as she moved her hand to his neck. "You are so in trouble." Matt was confused as he heard Gabby say that. "And why exactly am I in trouble with you?" Gabby just smiled as she stared into Matt's eyes. "You just threatened to not feed me, when I am pregnant with our child." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, before sighing as he knew that was not something that he should have done. "Sorry about that." Gabby agreed with him.

After which, she leaned up and proceeded to put her hand on Matt's cheek; stroking it with her thumb, Gabby smiled at her loving husband. "I know." Matt smiled as she told him so, before moving his hand to hers and stroking it with his thumb. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "I know. But please don't do that again. Remember that I'm pregnant, and that means that you can't threaten my food." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, before smiling as he grabbed her hand. After which, Matt thought that he was going to get a chance to kiss her; so, he leaned in to do just that. But if Matt thought that Gabby was going to let him kiss her after what he just said, then he was wrong. Patting his cheek as he tried to kiss her, Gabby smirked. "Oh baby, did you really think that you're going to get a kiss from me?" Matt was confused as he looked at Gabby, unsure as to what she meant when she said that. "Wait, what?" Gabby smiled at Matt when he said that, agreeing with the man she loves.

After which, Matt proceeded to get up so that he could make his way over to the door to their room; walking away from their bed after turning around, Matt smiled as he proceeded to make his way over to their door. And as it didn't take long for him to close the door, it also meant that it wasn't going to be long before he gets an answer to the question that he wants to know about. Just why he didn't get a kiss. Closing the door behind him so they can have privacy, Matt couldn't help but ponder the question that he had in his head; just why, oh why didn't he get a kiss from his wife? Turning around to make his way back over to their bed, Matt was about to ask Gabby why he didn't get a kiss. But first, he looked at Andy (who was currently laying down at the end of their bed). Walking over to him, Matt smiled as he rubbed the top of his head. "Hey buddy, was mommy okay the entire time that I was gone?" Gabby laughed a bit as she heard Matt say that, before smiling at the man she loves more than anything in the entire world right now.

Turning his head, Matt smiled at Gabby. "So, care to share why exactly I didn't get a kiss from you?" Gabby laughed as she heard Matt ask her why she didn't kiss him. "Hey, you were the one that threatened to not feed me." Matt agreed with Gabby when she told him that, before shaking his head. "Okay, c'mon. You know that I was just kidding. You had to know that Gabby." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "I know baby." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, before turning to look at Andy again. "Hey buddy, how was mommy while I was gone? Was she okay?" Gabby snickered a bit as she heard Matt say that, after which she turned her head and looked at the man she loves. "I was fine Matt, and you really don't have anything to worry about." Turning his head as he heard Gabby say that, Matt smiled as that most definitely was not the truth. "Oh Gabby. We both know that will never be the truth. You're pregnant with our child, and that means that I will always worry about you baby." Gabby agreed with Matt.

Smiling at the man of her dreams as she agreed with him (which she truly means, as she loves him like crazy), Gabby couldn't help but be really happy right now. "By the way, how did the family like that you were clad in nothing but a t-shirt and boxers when you went to get us some lunch?" Matt smiled as Gabby asked him that question, before going ahead with taking off his shirt for her (as he thought that was what she wanted him to do). "Remember to keep it nearby, as you're going to need it when you go bring our plates back to the kitchen." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, before deciding to just keep it on. "I'm just going to keep it on then." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, before turning her head to look at her phone. Seeing that it was flashing, Gabby took a breath. "Matt, if you look at that phone of yours; then I swear to god, I'm going to get dressed." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, as that most definitely isn't going to happen. He knows his wife far too well to know that she's going to follow through with that.

"Yeah, and then you're just going to end up getting undressed right away…because you want me to run my hands all over you after all." Gabby groaned as she heard Matt say that, as that most definitely was the truth. "God, I hate that you know me so well." Matt shook his head as he heard Gabby say that, as he most definitely knew that was a lie. "Yeah, that's the biggest lie that I've ever heard in a while." Gabby smiled, well aware that was the case. "Okay, yeah; that's a total lie, because I love that you know me so well." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, smiling at the woman he loves more than anything the entire world. After which, he proceeded to join her in bed ahead of the two of them having lunch together. Closing the covers on top of his legs shortly after climbing into bed, Matt smiled as he reached over to grab his pasta from his side table; bringing his bowl into his lap shortly afterwards, Matt smiled as he looked at his girl (who is more than happy to just have him in bed with her, even if he isn't shirtless right now).

Turning her head after Matt joined her in bed, Gabby smirked due to the fact that this is what she wants right now. She wants to have some time with him today, as they relax in bed with each other. "So, listen. There's something that I want to talk to you about while we're sitting her in bed and having a nice lunch with each other." Snapping out of her thoughts, Gabby agreed with him; after which, she went ahead and took a bite of her pasta. "Oh, do you know?" She said, in a seductive tone; after all, she thought that the thing he was going to talk to her about was the plans that he wants to set with her…as in, what they're going to do with each other after they're done having lunch. Agreeing with Gabby as he turned his head, Matt smirked as he knew what she had on her mind right now. "Yes, I do. But it's not sexual." Gabby felt a bit disappointed when she heard Matt say that. "Seriously?" Matt agreed with his wife. "Yes, I'm being serious." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, before going to take a bite of the pasta they were having.

The pasta that she knows is the same pasta that they had the night before, as it's just some of the leftovers. "Leftovers for lunch?" Taking a breath as he heard Gabby question what he got them for lunch, Matt couldn't help but wonder whether she was okay with that. "Sorry, I wanted to be lazy today for lunch. But if you want me to go…" Gabby shook her head when she heard Matt say that, as she was more than okay with what they were having with lunch together. "Hey, take it easy and relax. I'm happy that we're having this." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that. "Now, as to what I wanted to talk to you about. It was about a nice conversation that I had with your brother and Jay; and he actually asked me something, which I want to talk to you about." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "And what would that be?" Matt smiled. "He made two requests to me." Gabby laughed. "That Halstead boy, god he is so pushy at times." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that. "Well, he's doing it for the woman he loves."

Gabby then looked at Matt when he said that, smiling at him; after all, she knows that Matt has a real sweet spot for men who want to do something special for their wives. But before Matt could tell her what he really asked him, Gabby gave him an answer to the question she assumed he asked him. "Baby, of course Alex can join ELLA." Matt was a bit shocked when Gabby said that, as that was not what they were talking about. "Oh, that isn't what we talked about; but if you want to offer Alex that chance, then you can most definitely do that." Gabby agreed with Matt, before snickering a bit. "Oh, I know I can. Last time I checked, it is my company." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, before smiling at her; after which, Gabby decided to ask Matt what he and Jay talked about. "So, what did you and Jay talk about?" Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that. "We talked about how Jay and Alex want to move out, and how he wants to know where we're thinking of setting up our Los Angeles office." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling.

"Well, I hope they do that; I know what it's like to live in a small space, because we've done that in the past." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, as she most definitely does. However, he now has to tell her about what he offered Jay to talk to him about. "Well,, that's not the only thing that we talked about. Of course, you know that moving out does mean that he needs to get a down payment." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "Yeah, that's going to be a lot of money here in the LA area." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, before telling him what he offered. "And that's why I offered to give him a loan for a down payment if he wanted one…" Gabby was about to take a bite of her pasta when he said that, before stopping as she was shocked.

"You did what now?"

She was currently siting in bed, waiting for Matt to come back so that they can get in bed with each other close in their bed; after all, that was exactly what they both wanted to do right now. They want to hold each other close, as they talked about what Jay spoke to Matt about in the kitchen, which was something that Gabby was a bit worried about. I mean, do they really want to do this? Then again, they are their friends (as well as their employees) and they trust them more than anybody. But there was just something that worried Gabby, so she wasn't sure. But first, they needed to talk about this; they needed to sit in bed and talk about this as husband and wife. Well, only after Matt did something for the woman he loves. Walking into their bedroom clad in nothing but his boxers, Gabby was actually quite shocked; after all, that meant that he walked around their home like that for a bit. "Okay, now I seriously think you're crazy. I mean, you walk around like that when we have family here?" Matt laughed and smiled at his beautiful wife.

"Oh, don't act like you don't like the fact that I'm just wearing my boxers right now." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, as she most definitely loves the fact that he's just wearing his boxers for her right now; he's so damn sexy, and so damn muscular. And it's exactly what she wants to see her husband wearing right now. She wants to see him wearing this exact thing, and that was exactly why Matt did it. "Oh, I didn't say anything about not liking it. I'm just a bit worried about whether anybody saw you on your way back here?" Matt shook his head. "I did it right outside of our room, so nobody." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, as she was glad that was the case. "Good, because I don't want any other woman to see that nice body of yours." Matt laughed when he heard Gabby say that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, you have nothing to worry about baby. Remember, I love you more than anything; and you're the only woman I ever want to have run her hands all over my body." Gabby agreed with Matt, smirking at her man.

She then put her hand up to show him the wedding ring that she has on her hand. "That better be the case, because I'm your wife." Matt snickered as he heard Gabby say that, before walking over to his dresser; after which, he set his shirt down on the top of the dress. After all, that was exactly where Gabby wanted it to be right now; she wants him to be shirtless, and she wants to cuddle up to him in their bed. And now, that's exactly what she's going to get a chance to do as they relax in bed with each other. Walking over to their bed, Matt smiled as he looked at Andy who was currently laying down at the foot of their bed. Putting his hand on the top of Andy's head, Matt smiled as he stroked it and then bent down to kiss the top of his head. "Hey you." Gabby just smiled as she heard Matt say that, loving how he treats Andy like another one of their children. "You better wipe your lips before you kiss me." Laughing, Matt made his way back over to his shirt; afterwards, he picked it up and went to wipe his lips so that they were cleaner.

Then, he turned back around so that he can make his way to bed with Gabby; the place where he wants to be right now, so that they can cuddle up to each other and just hold each other close. Making his way over to Gabby at their bed, Matt smiled as he opened the covers and then climbed in with her. Slipping close to his beautiful, lingerie-clad wife in their bed; Matt smiled as he put his hand on her side as he got close to her. At the same time, Matt slipped towards the center of the bed so he would have the ability to tug Gabby against his chest; which he did shortly afterwards. Looking at her dreamy husband as soon as she was against his muscular chest, Gabby smiled as she put her hands on his toned body and just looked at the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. Afterwards, she smiled as she ran her hand up and down his chest. Smirking at him, Gabby leaned up and kissed her husband softly. Just taking things nice and slow with her husband, Gabby was extremely right now. "God, you are so damn sexy."

Matt agreed with Gabby as he said that. "And you are too, very beautiful." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, before smiling at him. After which, he cuddled up to her and smirked as he put his hand on her side. "So, listen…I want to talk to you about what you said." Matt sighed as he heard Gabby say that, as he knew that was something that was going to be a bit contentious when it comes to what they're going to be talking about. "Listen, I just want to say that I'm sorry about how we even have to talk about this. If you don't want to do this, then I understand." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "I still want to talk about this." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, well aware that was the case. "Hey, I know that; and we are going to talk about this." Gabby agreed with Matt smiling at the woman he loves. After which, he smirked at his gorgeous wife. "So listen, there are a couple things. Jay had two questions." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah, I know." Matt agreed.

After which, Gabby took a breath. "So, they asked for a loan or an advance to buy a new place?" Matt bit his lip. "I may have offered in advance. I know, I should've have done that but…" Putting her hand on Matt's cheek, Gabby smiled at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Baby, I know that you did that because of your big heart. So, I know that." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, before taking a breath. "Ok, so here's the reason. I mean, we already know the prices here in Los Angeles are enormous." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case. "And then Jay's thinking about the fact that he and Alex are going to have a family." Gabby then thought about it. "Oh…" Matt nodded. "I mean, yes.. I know that we have a lot to talk about. Heck, we've barely figured out where we want to have our office. And Jay said that he can wait for that, because he doesn't want to be too far for the sake of the kids; and I agree with that. But I am still thinking about it." Gabby took a breath, sighing.

"Do you want to tell me what you're thinking right now?" Matt took a breath as he heard Gabby say that. "We already agreed that we weren't going to talk about business today." Gabby then proceeded to grab Matt's hand. "This is different. This is something that's related to our family, and how we're going to work things out when it comes to our schedules." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, as he's grateful over the fact that she feels that way; after which, he leaned in and proceeded to kiss her softly. Just taking things nice and slow with his girl, Matt smirked as he tugged her body against his chest. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smirking due to the fact that she's incredibly happy with her amazing husband. Just cuddling up to him, Gabby smiled as she's just so happy right now. "So, I am just thinking about all the options. And I have a bunch of them in my head." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "What are you thinking right now?" Matt sighed as he looked at the woman he loves.

"I'm either debating between bringing all of the Hawaii operations to Los Angeles, or I'm going to leave them there and just have a mini office here in Los Angeles; and then in the future, maybe we add more mini offices around the country for future staff." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that. "Well, the truth is…I like that idea. It means that we can have staff located close to a little office and be close to their families." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, as that's what he was thinking. "And this is where Jay comes in…." Taking a breath, Matt sighed. "He wants to know where we're going to set up our office. And he's wondering where we want to do it, because he wants to buy a place for him and Alex. He already has a place in mind, and it's near Santa Monica at the corner of Interstates 10 and 405; and he wants it to be there, because it's near the ocean." Gabby then realized why he wanted to be there. "For his PTSD?" Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, before taking a breath as he looked at his wife.

"Listen, I know that shouldn't impact what I want to do. But when I think about it…" Gabby smiled at Matt as she grabbed his hand, just calming him down as she understands what he's trying to tell her. "Hey, take a breath and relax baby. I already know what you're trying to tell me." Matt agreed with his wife as she told him that, before leaning in and proceeding to kiss her softly. "What are you thinking about it?" Gabby smiled as she looked at her incredible husband. "I think that you should do it. Also, I know that you're going to want to do it anyways." Matt sighed as he heard his wife say that. "But I want to do this together. I don't want you to feel like I'm forcing you to do this." Gabby shook her head as she heard Matt tell her that, as that's not at all how she feels right now. "And that isn't how I feel. I feel like you're doing it because you want to help our friend, which makes me proud to call you my husband." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby tell him that, as he loves her so much. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with Matt.

"And I love you too, and that's why I think that we should do this. We should do this because we both know that you're going to want to do this anyways." Matt sighed. "I only want to do it with your permission. And Jay actually said that he might ask his brother to go in with him, so they'd pay half-and-half. I think we'd just do the down payment. I'm not sure yet." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "We'd have to talk to them about it." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she told him that, before smiling as he leaned in and proceeded to kiss him softly. After which, he leaned in and proceeded to kiss her softly. Just taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Matt smirked as he's really happy right now. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that. "I love you too, and I think we have a phone call to make." Matt was a bit shocked as he heard Gabby say that. "Wait, so you mean that we're going to do it?" Moving close to Matt, Gabby smiled as she pushed her chest against his.

Wrapping his arm around Gabby as she held him close, Matt smirked as he loved the feeling of Gabby's body against his chest. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I love you too, and I am so glad that this is what we're doing right now; just holding each other close as we relax in bed, which is all I want to do right now." Wrapping his arm around Gabby's back some more, Matt smirked as he rolled over onto his back and cuddled up to his girl. "Not even this?" Putting her hand on Matt's neck, Gabby smiled as she leaned in and kissed the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. At the same time, Matt wrapped both of his arms around her and grabbed the back of her head; that way, he can hold her close as they enjoyed this time with each other. And that's exactly what they're in the midst of doing with each other right now. They're enjoying a bunch of sexy time with each other. And there'll never be anything better than the feeling he has right now.
