Chapter 230: Go-Kart testing...
(May 10. The Loud House, Franklin Avenue. Royal Woods, Michigan.)
We head to the garage, and here Michelle Lewis is helping add the finishing touches to the Go-Kart, and checking for any issue, and she knows how to do this because Michelle always come prepared when her Ferrari needs a tune up or some much needed attention.
The others show up, and they see the Go-Kart of Lana, and they are amazed.
Lana's Go-Kart – Light Blue, with some red flame patterns on the side, and a frog logo on the front, all spray painted. Two small front tires, and two somewhat big tires in the back. The engine is in the back as well, and is covered by a large metal box which has eleven flags, and each flag is a color of the siblings. Two headlights on the front, and two seats, with seatbelts. There is even a special seat for Hops.
"Now that is a Go-Kart" replied Lynn. "Nice work on this guys."
"The color is nice too, love the flags. It totes speaks about family" replied Leni.
"She looks revving up to speed away, and dodge some cones!" chuckled Luan.
"I recall that the parts were salvaged from many dumpsites, which means this is a well-handed put together vehicle, I wish only to see if the engine is working fine" replied Lisa.
"We already did that before Lisa" replied Michelle. "This thing runs on steam power, and is capable of staying in motion for three hours or so, but we need to know how fast she is."
"Then let's get Croak Lightning a test run!" cheered Lana, and she has her helmet and goggles, and so does Hops. Lola wants to say something about the name, but Lori keeps her quiet, since this is Lana's choice. Lincoln and Luna are happy at the help they gave for this, and the kart looks good too.
Michelle smiles and she has an idea. "And I know just the place."
(Later.)
They all arrived, to this location, to where the Go-Kart race is to begin, but everything hasn't been setup yet. "Here we are, and don't worry guys. I know the manager here, and he is a fan of kids making their own rides, and if they wanna give them a test run, then this is where it will happen."
Lana then hugs Michelle. "Thanks mom!"
Michelle smiles, and then she hugs Lana. "Alright, now let's see how fast this ride of yours can go."
They have the Go-Kart on the track and ready, Lana gets inside and so does Hops. Lana takes a deep breath, and she turns on the ignition button, and the Go-Kart is working and purring her engines. "Yes, she is revving and ready for this!"
Lana then sees everyone give he the thumbs up, and she hits the gas pedal and she is off. They watch as she goes with great speed, and Lana cheers. "OOOOOOOOOH YEEEEEEAAAAH!"
They are amazed, and Luna speaks. "Whoever owned the old Go-Kart engine, really did an amazing job with the speed limit. Heck, she seems as fast as a racecar, or a sports car."
"Without a shadow of a doubt, Lana Loud will win this!" cheered Lola. "And everyone else is gonna eat her dust! Literally!"
Lisa is surprised. "Lola might be correct, the race will be in Lana's favor. Also, I have heard many rumors at the school, involving other students who plan to compete, and they just buy a complete Go-Kart, and they don't even try to test it if it is good, or scammed."
Lincoln then recalls. "Wait, wait. Guys, Lisa. You said, the other kids bought their Go-Karts? But, didn't they read the flier?" He then has it and reads it. "It says, make your own Go-Kart, and we looked it up online and it said that the race will only accept Go-Karts made by others."
Lori also realizes this. "Wait that would literally mean that Lana will win, because every other kid literally didn't even build their own."
"Whoa, whoa! Automatic disqualification? Dang" replied Lynn. "There goes the competition, well serves them right!"
The others liked the sound of this, and Michelle records this so that everyone else will know and see, that this is one kid who knows her mechanics, and had some good old fashioned sibling help to make what she is driving now.
(A couple of laps later.)
Lana's Go-Kart soon arrives, and both Lana and Hops are surprised. "This is awesome, and the Croak lightning works like a charm and her speed is awesome and super-fast, heck she is as fast as lightning too!" Lisa is about to say something logical about lightning, and speed, but Luan keeps her from sating it.
Then she asks. "Hey Lola, I was wondering if you would like to be my Co-Driver. Because, it would be better if I had my twin racing with me, and all the way to the finish line."
Lola is surprised to hear this, and she hugs her twin. "I'll do it, and we're gonna leave the others in the dust!"
The others are happy to see this, and even though they should tell Lana that she had won already because of everyone else not building their own Go-Kart, it seems best if she knew at the actual event soon, this Saturday.
(Timeskip, night time at the Loud House.)
Everyone is now asleep. Well, Michelle Lewis is awake and finishing off her work. But Lynn, she is awake and she lays down looking to the ceiling and she has some thoughts in her head. 'Another date with Annabelle, and I don't know what is gonna happen when I finally ask her out and ask her to be... My girlfriend. I need advice.'
A/N: Lana is bound to win, even before the race starts, and as for Lynn... Well, that's for tomorrow. I do hope that you all enjoyed reading this new chapter guys.
