Chapter 240: Sam's Dad...

(May 20. Royal Woods High School. Royal Woods, Michigan.)

The bell has rung, and Luna closes her locker, and then she has the books she needs, then she stops an she sees Sam. "Hey Sam..." But, there seems to be something wrong. Sam doesn't look pleased, or even happy as usual when she sees her. "Sam, is something wrong?"

But Sam doesn't speak, and she just walks by Luna, and this concerns her, and then Sully and Mazzy show up and they saw what had happened. "Luna, what the heck was that all about?" asked Mazzy.

"I don't know, I don't think I have... Wait, I have seen Sam like this, but that was when..." Luna then realizes, the day and month, and this confuses Sully and Mazzy. "Today is, May 20."

Sully is confused. "Yeah, it is. Why? What's going on with Sam?"

Luna sighs. "Today, is supposed to be the birthday, of Sam's dad." This shocks the two, and now they recall. Sam had this ordeal last year, and the year before that and for her to act like this now... It all makes sense, again.

Sam and her father are very close, and they always spent some time together, bonded a lot and had fun. A fun time for both of them, and he was always there to give her advice, and help her with some problems, even if he was overseas. They even recall, the story of what had happened.

4 years ago, Sam's father: Reginald S. Sharp, was a soldier who fought in the Middle Eastern conflicts, the battle escalated and his forces were trying to stop this unexpected battle between two Middle Factions who have been at conflict for a long time, Sgt. Sharp and his team, were caught in the middle of this battle and needed to get out of there with the Minister of Defense.

Sgt. Reginald S. Sharp, was killed on the front line trying to save his team, and make sure they all make it out. But, the other sole reason he took the hits, he saved this toddler who was wandering the streets and got the kid out to safety. He never made it, and died of his wounds.

Sam was devastated after hearing that on the news, and she didn't bother to see anyone or go to school for a week. But, she managed to regain herself, and return to normal but bringing up her dad is something she doesn't appreciate or even wanna recall. It hurts and angers her.

Mazzy then asks. "So, what are we gonna do, Luna?"

Luna has an idea. "Sam always visits her dad, at where he is buried and she greets him on his birthday, and then she's gonna become a total mess after she speaks with him, a break down which has a lot of emotional tears and mental issues. I have to go with her, and give her some comfort. I can do this guys."

Sully and Mazzy nod, and they understand and they watch as Sam heads for the restroom, needing some time for herself, which concerns Luna.

(Timeskip, after school.)

Sam waits outside, for her mother Allyson Sharp to come and pick her up, she is hoping she would have better days than this, but then this day has to come, the one day that hurts her the most.

Just then, Luna shows up and she stands next to her, Sam sighs and then she speaks. "Luna, I don't have time to hang out with you..."

"Yeah, I know. I know about where you're going, and that is why I am coming with you. Your dad is important to you, and just as I see my little brother as someone important to me. I wanna be there, to help you through the bad vibes."

Sam gives her a questionable look, but she knows that Luna wants to help her. "Sam, everything about this day is a bad thing and moment for you, and also I would do the same thing as you would do, whenever it was Lincoln's birthday... for when one day, I lose him."

Sam thinks about this, and then she realizes that she is right. "Thank you, Luna... Thank you. I'll try not to break down or lose myself when we go and... And see him."

Just then, her mother arrives in her car, and both teenage girls go inside, and they drive off, but Allyson looks to her daughter. "Sam, are you alright with this? To go and see him?" Even she feels heart broken, knowing her husband is no longer with them.

Sam nods. "I am, and I have someone here who can help me through this." Sam then holds Luna's hand, and they share a small kiss, seeing this makes Allyson smile.

'Oh Reggie, if only you were here to see this.' she then recalls, her son Simon is busy with something else, his school project and Allyson believes now is not the time for him to see where his dad is, since he didn't have much time to spend with him, and it might make him super upset that his dad is gone. Something Sam also understands, and seems like it is the right thing.

But perhaps one day, Simon Sharp will come along with them to see him.

(Royal Woods Cemetery.)

They are now here, and the grave of Reginald Sharp is there, and Allyson speaks to him first, while Sam waits since she wants to speak with him alone, and her mother understands. Luna and Sam can hear her, talking about how things have been going for her, and the kids, and that she misses him and hasn't bothered to find another person in her life.

Sam sighs, and she feels hurt inside, and then her mother goes over, and gives her a hug, to which she returns the embrace, and then she lets Sam go and speak with him. Sam then goes towards the tombstone, and every step feels heavier and heavier for her, but Luna walks by her side, and she feels like she can walk normally once again.

Sam then looks to the grave stone with the words.

"Here lies Reginald S. Sharp, a loving husband, father and a hero."

Sam sighs, and she struggles to speak, but she takes a brief moment to calm down. "Hey dad, it's good to see you again and things have been... alright, I mean the Louds have changed a lot, and things have been less than good and less than bad for them, and I know that if you were here... You would give them a piece of your mind."

This makes Luna smirk, because Sam is not wrong. The Sharp's care about family, and surely Reginald Sharp wouldn't hesitate to send a fist to Lynnard's face.

Sam then continues. "Life has been, alright with me. I have been studying well, good grades and just... Trying my best, I have been through some bad times but I managed to toughen up and make sure the trouble doesn't come back. All that boxing you taught me, has come in handy for some incidents."

"Lunes and I are still a couple, Simon is still being himself, and I have been doing my part and keeping a close eye on him. Heck, he found a big brother figure within Lincoln Loud, and I see Linc as a little brother too. Our band is doing alright, and we're gonna go on this tour to stop some maniac manager, and show off what we can do on stage."

Sam then feels uncomfortable, and upset.

"I just... I really miss you, and it has been a total bummer still, that y-you're not here, and that everything I would wanna do to spend time w-with you is no m-more and... Gosh, darn it. I just... Why did you have to go?" Sam now has some tears, and she starts to break down and cry, Luna is heartbroken to see this and she kneels down and embraces Sam, to which she hugs her back.

Allyson also goes over, and she hugs them both.

Pretty soon, Sam stops and she wipes away her tears, and then looks to the gravestone of her father. She then places a yellow tulip flower onto the gravestone. "Happy Birthday dad. I miss you, but the memory of you will carry on, always. I love you, dad."

Sam then stands up, and she seems alright now. She then hugs Luna and her mom, to which they hug her back. The trio then depart from the hug, and they head back to the car. Luna then asks. "Sam, are you doing alright?"

Sam nods, and she smiles. "Yeah, I am. Even though he is gone, and no longer with us, I know that in my heart he is still alive and the memories we have had, will always be with me."

This makes Luna smile, she is glad that she did come along, and help her girlfriend. They then head into the car, and drive back home.

But, unbeknownst to them, a spiritual figure takes the flower from the gravestone and he smiles, and he watches them leave the area and is proud of the mature, strong and responsible girl his daughter has become, and then he fades away back to the ethereal plane.

...

But, from a hill not too far is a man in a cowboy hat, and he lowers his hat and sighs. 'Rest in Piece Reginald Sharp, and from one Sharp to another...We're both damn proud of what our daughters have become.' Peter Sharp/Pyron then walks away, back to his world.

A/N: Rest in Peace, and Happy Birthday Mr. Sharp, at least he can see that Sam has grown into a strong, and talented girl with friends, family and special loved ones by her side. I hope that you all enjoyed reading this new chapter guys.
