Chapter One Hundred and Twelve
MATT DREAM: Grace
Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 – Casey Home, Malibu
Today was the day. His first birthday as a father, a day that he's been waiting to celebrate for years; and a day which he thought was never going to happen, but now he is celebrating just that. His first birthday as a father, to three beautiful children: Matteo Andrew, Noah Matthew, and Grace Grace Casey; his newborn baby girl. And when he says newborn, he truly means it. In fact, his baby girl was only four hours old; and that was due to the fact that it was only two in the morning right now, but Matt couldn't sleep. He was far too happy to sleep right now, because he has his baby girl in his arms; the baby that Gabby gave birth to (with Natalie's help) in their bath yesterday. And let's just say that most definitely was a nice experience. The sight of his wife giving birth naturally, it was just something special; and it was the best birthday gift that a father could ever have, and it was all he needed. His little Grace, and her giving birth naturally. And that was why Gabby was currently fast asleep next to him as he relaxed in bed because she was tired.
No, not just tired; she was exhausted after having given birth to their baby girl, naturally, in their bath. But that didn't mean that they were on their own, and that was due to the fact that Natalie came here to help her; she was here to help Gabby give birth, and he was so grateful for that. And the truth was, he would be turned on if he wasn't married to Gabby; I mean, she helped Gabby give birth while thirty-one weeks pregnant with her and Will's first child. And that was why he was going to thank her right now, as she came back into the room still wearing her scrubs. "Let me guess, Will just finished checking you out in the guest room?" Natalie laughed a bit as she heard Matt say that, as that most definitely was what her husband just did for her. But what else would he do? Especially when she just helped her friend's wife do a home birth, while being thirty-one weeks pregnant. "Ultrasound was clear, and all was good." Matt agreed with Natalie as she said that, before smiling as he turned his head and looked down at his baby girl Grace.
The baby girl that he was currently having some skin-to-skin time with, as they cuddled up to each other in bed; something that he may not have been able to do, had they given birth at the hospital. And there was a reason for that, something called COVID. With COVID being around, they weren't allowing fathers to be in the room all the time; and that was why they gave birth here, why they made sure that they were going to give birth to their beautiful Grace at home, in the best way possible. But never in a million years did he think that he'd be spending his first morning as a father, with Grace in his arms. Speaking of that, Natalie just remembered what day it was. "By the way, happy birthday Matt." Matt smiled as he heard Natalie tell him that, glad that it was his birthday; especially since this was his birthday gift. The only birthday gift that he was going to have from his wife for a while right now. "You have no idea how much I really appreciate this Natalie." Natalie agreed with Matt as he said that, before hearing Will came in.
"Oh, I am sure that you appreciated the fact that Natalie helped you give birth at home." Turning his head, Matt smiled as he looked at the other doctor Halstead who just walked into his room. "Thank you so much for allowing Natalie to do this Will, I know that you were scared when it came to doing this; especially when Natalie is thirty-one weeks along with Owen right?" Will agreed with Matt when he mentioned the name of his and Natalie's first child, Owen William Halstead. "Yes, Owen William Halstead." Matt smiled as he heard Will say that, glad that was the case. "I can't promise we're going to return the favor, because I'm not sure if Gabby is going to be able to help Natalie give birth in the pandemic." Will agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case; in fact, it was why the doctor was currently wearing a mask as he walked around his room. "It's why I have a mask on. I promise that we're going to keep you guys safe the entire time." Matt agreed with Will when he said that, well aware that was the case; not having any doubt.
"Will, I know that. I know that you would never do anything to put my family at risk, because I have seen you do just that." Will agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware of the time he was talking about; he was talking about the first time Gabby was "pregnant", when he saved her life. "I still hate that you guys didn't get that baby." Matt shook his head when he heard Will say that, before turning his head and looking down at his beautiful Grace. "I would rather have this little girl here, than our first baby. All we need is Matteo, Noah, and our little Grace." Will agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case. "Maybe just take it easy for a while when it comes to you guys trying for a fourth child." And it was as if that magic word (fourth child) was all it took to wake Gabby up from her slumber. "Yeah, I don't think we're going for a fourth child. I don't know yet." Turning his head, Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that; completely okay with them not going for a fourth child, if she doesn't want to. "No decisions yet."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that he doesn't want to make any decisions yet; especially when she doesn't want to make any decisions yet either. Right now, she just wants to concentrate on the family that they already have: their twin boys Matteo and Noah, and their precious baby girl Grace. "Will, do you mind going to get Natalie so that she can check me out?" Will agreed with Gabby when she said that, before smiling as he walked away. At the same time, Gabby turned to look at the love of her life. "Listen, I know that you love holding her in your arms already but…." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, well aware of what she wants to do; after which, he moved close to the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. Going to give Grace to his beautiful wife, Matt smiled due to the fact that he loves the fact that Gabby had their baby girl in her arms; after which, Gabby sat up a bit and just moved her close to her chest. That way, she could feed her; in fact, that was why she was currently topless right now.
"Sorry Will saw me topless." Moving to get close to his wife as she sat up in bed, Matt smiled as he watched Grace started feeding off her breast; at the same time, Matt wrapped his arm around his beautiful wife while grabbing the covers. He then tugged them up on top of the both of them, smiling at the most beautiful woman in the entire world. After which, he kissed the side of her head as he watched her start feeding their daughter; the daughter that he's always wanted, their gorgeous Grace Grace Casey. Moving his hand to the back of her head, Matt smiled as he stroked it with his thumb as he held her close. "Isn't she the most beautiful thing in the entire world?" Turning her head, Gabby smiled as she looked at her husband. "You'll pay for that later." Matt took a breath. "Baby, you know that you're sexy and beautiful; baby, I love you more than anything in the entire world." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I know that you love me; and that's why I'm going to forgive you right now." Matt agreed.
After which, Matt smiled as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world; after all, that was all he wanted to do right now. He wanted to take things nice and slow with the woman he loves, who just gave birth to their beautiful daughter. "God, I am so proud of you. You did such a great job." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "You have no idea how scared I was." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, as he knew that was the case. "Oh, I know that you were scared. But I can tell you this, nobody could tell that was the case; you were a rockstar, and you just did it perfectly." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before smiling as she turned her head and looked down at Grace; after which, she kissed her forehead and just smiled. After all, this is everything that they want to do right now. They want to take some time with their beautiful daughter, whom they already love more than anything in the entire world. "I swear, now this is my dream come true." Matt agreed.
"This is probably what you have always wanted when it came to you giving birth, because that way we have no problems." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, as that most definitely is the case. "Oh, I love the fact that we're already home with each other. And I just love that I have you here next to me, especially since you're already in your boxers." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that. "If you want, we can just stay like this for the rest of the night; as I highly doubt that you're going to be able to sleep for the rest of the night." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, as she doubts that's going to be the case. "Oh no, I am going to try and sleep; especially since I am already tired again, and I am going to want to cuddle up to all of my babies. Matteo, Noah, and Grace." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, well aware that was something that they're going to do today. "Well, then we'll do that. But right now, how about you concentrate on feeding Grace? And you need to get rest before we bring the boys in here."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. I mean, she did just give birth to Grace. "I am so glad that we did a home birth, because we're home now." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, as he felt the same way. "Oh, I am so glad that's the case too. Now, I hope you know that we do have some people waiting for us downstairs." Gabby smiled. "Everybody's still here?" Matt agreed. "I'm going to have to take her down quickly, and then I'll be right back. I'll let them know you're okay, and then we can go to bed okay?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, smiling as that was exactly what she wanted. "I'm glad that we stayed here in Los Angeles, it's nice here." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, before leaning in as he kissed her softly. "Listen, I need to grab a shirt ahead of me taking her downstairs to show her off. Do you mind?" Gabby shook her head. "I need to take a shower after anyways." Matt shook his head. "Later today. Rest for now. Now, I'm going to grab a shirt." Gabby agreed, smiling.
After which, Matt got up and proceeded to go grab a shirt which he could wear while he goes downstairs to introduce Grace to their friends and family quickly; then, they would be able to go to bed with each other.
Casey Living Room – He loved this feeling, the feeling of his beautiful baby girl all cuddled up to him; with her body curled up to his chest, and her head in the crook of his neck. At the same time, Matt had his arm wrapped around her bottom and his hand on her back; at the same time, he was kissing the top of her head as they both held each other close. Just smiling as he walked downstairs, Matt went ahead and made his way over to the living room where their family is currently waiting to see their daughter. Smiling as he walked into the living room with Grace in his arms, Matt was really happy right now. He then looked up to tell everybody that he was here, as they were all concentrating on the TV right now. "Hey, can you guys turn off the TV?" Everybody then turned around, seeing that Matt was there with their baby girl. Shutting off the TV, Camila smiled as she stood up and looked at her son-in-law. "How's Gabby?" Matt smiled as Camila asked him that. "She asked you to go upstairs, and I'm just going to show her off quickly."
Camila agreed with Matt as he said that. "Make sure to watch your hands when you're upstairs, because then you might be able to hold her." Camila smiled as she heard Matt say that, before walking over to him so that she can look at her new granddaughter. "Ola Grace." Matt smiled as he heard Camila say that, loving the name of his daughter. "Tell Gabby that I'll be up soon, I just need to hand her over. First up, that would be my mother." Nancy smiled as she heard her son say that, before putting her hands out. At the same time, Matt walked over to her and set his beautiful daughter down in her arms. "Here you go mom, this is Grace." Nancy agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling due to the fact that Grace is adorable; and she is so glad that she was here. "How was the birth? Did it go okay?" Matt agreed with his mom as she asked him whether everything was okay upstairs. "Yeah, but I just want to say this…" Turning around to look at the rest of their family and friends that were here, Matt smiled as he was happy they were here.
"Listen, I think that it's just going to be my mom who holds her. You guys can hold her over a few days, because we're tired; and we need to go bed, because this is going to be a long day." Antonio agreed with his brother-in-law when he said that, smiling at him. "I understand that's the case Matt." Matt smiled when he heard Antonio say that, before walking over to him. After which, he proceeded to hug him. "Think you can take care of the boys today? I am going to be exhauste…" Antonio laughed. "More like, you want to spend time with Gabby and that little girl of yours." Matt smiled as Antonio said that, as that most definitely was the case. "Yeah, that's true as well. By the way, it's Grace Marie Casey. I know, we changed the name again." Antonio agreed with Matt as he said that, who then turned to look at his sister. Walking over to her, Matt smiled as he hugged her. "I'm surprised that you're still up, especially since you had that meeting yesterday." Christie agreed with Matt when he said that, before smiling at her brother.
"There's nowhere else I'd rather be, especially when this might be my last chance to see you for a while." Matt agreed with Christie when she said that. "Yeah, I think it will. It's why I'm wearing a mask, and I think we need to just take it easy when it comes to our health and safety." Christie agreed with Matt as he said that. "I know what you mean. I am just so happy that you have a daughter now, so you can stop treating mine as yours." Matt laughed as he heard his sister say that. "I have to say, best birthday gift in the entire world." Christie then thought about that. "Right, happy birthday Matt." Nancy then turned her head and smiled. "Oh my gosh, yes. Happy birthday sweetie." Matt smiled, agreeing with his mother. "Thanks mom." Matt then proceeded to make his way over to her again, before looking down at his baby girl, the beautiful Grace Marie. "Best birthday gift in the entire world." Nancy agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I can definitely see that being the case. I am so happy you have a daughter."
Matt smiled. "Me too." That's when Matt started to hear Grace cry. "Sorry mom, looks like somebody needs me." Nancy agreed with her son as he said that, before watching as he bent down so that he could grab Grace from her arms; after which, Matt bent down and picked her up again. Cuddling up to her, Matt smiled as he patted her back and adjusted the onesie that she was already wearing today. He got her dressed before he came downstairs, and she just looked adorable; but not as adorable as she looked when she was cuddling up to him, with her little hand on his chest. And that was exactly what Grace just started to do. Tapping her back as he pressed his lips to her forehead, Matt smiled as he looked at her. "Yeah, I think my little Grace here is starting to get tired again. And the truth is, so is her daddy; I've been awake since we started the entire process of giving birth, and I am just tired." Antonio agreed with Matt when he said that. "And you still have to deal with my mom for a bit." Matt agreed with Antonio. "I can get ready for bed."
Antonio agreed with Matt when he said that, while Matt turned to look at his mom. "Mom, do you mind locking up after everybody leaves?" Jay smiled when he heard Matt say that. "Hey Matt, you want me to go get Andy for you?" Matt smiled when he heard Jay, not realizing that he was here. "You can just let him in, and he can make his way upstairs." Jay agreed with Matt as he said that, before smiling as he got up so that he could go let Andy in; at the same time, Matt smiled as he looked at his friends and family. "Thanks again for coming, and I'm so happy that you came; but we need to go rest now, because this little girl needs to take it easy. And the truth is, I need to go lay down too; I'm tired." Everybody agreed with the father as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I'm sure that's the case. Tell Gabby congratulations for me." Matt agreed. "You can do it when you come back later to help take care of my boys, because we both know you're going to do that." Antonio agreed with Matt when he said that. "Thanks again for staying."
Everybody agreed. "No problem Matt, congratulations again." Matt smiled as he heard his sister say that, before looking at her. "Make sure that Violet doesn't call until this afternoon at the earliest, because we're going to be tired; and we're going to relax in bed with each other." Christie agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case. "Of course, Matt." Matt smiled as he heard his sister say that, before proceeding to turn around so that he can make his way upstairs; that way, he and Gabby can relax with their daughter some more, which is exactly what they need to do right now. They need to take it easy, and just cuddle up to their baby girl; and let's just say that's going to be a lot of fun, and he can't wait to do it for the rest of his life. Grace is the most adorable baby girl in the entire world, and he can't wait to just spend the rest of his life being his baby girl's father for the rest of their life. And that's exactly what he's been blessed with a chance to do right now, be her father for the rest of her life.
Their daughter was finally where she belongs, in her crib located at the end of their bed; and that most definitely was something that Matt was really happy about. But he wasn't as happy as his wife, who was currently pushing past the pain; just so that he could stand at the crib and look down at their daughter. After all, that was something that she wanted to do right now. She wanted to stand at the edge of the bed, and he wanted to make sure that they were relaxing. Making his way over to his beautiful wife, Matt smiled as he went ahead and proceeded to walk up behind her; after which, he wrapped his arms around her and smiled due to the fact that this is something that they both have always wanted. A beautiful family with three children, including two boys and a daughter; and that's exactly what they have now. They have their sons Matteo and Noah, and a beautiful daughter named Grace. And god, is she the most adorable thing in the entire world. Moving his hands to her hips as soon as he was standing behind his wife, Matt smiled at her.
After which, Matt wrapped his arms around her and smiled due to the fact that this really is everything that he wants right now. He wants to hold the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, and he wants to make sure that they take it easy with each other. But right now, Gabby needs to turn around in his arms; that way, she can do what she wants. And that would be kiss the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. Stepping close to Matt, Gabby smirked due to the fact that this is everything that she's ever wanted; after which, she looked up at her wonderful husband. Bending down, Matt smirked as he went ahead and kissed his beautiful wife softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Matt smirked due to the fact that this really is something that he's happy about. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "I love you too. And I am ready to just cuddle up to my husband in bed." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife, well aware that was the case; as he felt the same way.
Putting his hand out for his wife, Matt smiled as he felt Gabby grab it; after which, he intertwined their fingers and just smiled due to the fact that this is everything that they have ever wanted to have in life. They want to have this life with each other, they want to have their beautiful children; and even better, they want to make sure that they have a healthy life. "Listen, you need to sit down and just relax." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, after which she turned around to lead him to their bed; and let's just say that's exactly what Matt wants to do right now. He wants to cuddle up to his beautiful wife, as they hold each other close in bed; just hours after she gave birth to their baby girl, Grace. And god, she is so damn beautiful, the most beautiful thing in the entire world, in his opinion. But now, it was time for them to relax in bed; which is just what Gabby needs to do for a while, as she recovers from giving birth. Making their way right up to their bed, Matt smiled as he opened the covers for Gabby. Climbing in afterwards, Gabby got comfortable.
At the same time, Matt looked down at his beautiful wife as soon as she was laying down in their bed; and god is she beautiful, something that he's always felt. Even more so now. Just looking down at his beautiful wife as he stared down into her eyes, Matt smiled as he put his hand on her neck and then bent down to kiss her softly. Taking things nice and slow with his beautiful wife, Matt smirked due to the fact that this is always going to be what he wants in life; he wants to have his wife with him, as well as their beautiful children. "I love you, and I am so proud of you Gabby. You blow me away every single day, and I am so glad that this sis what we have in life." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before putting her hand on his cheek; after which, Matt smiled as he bent down and kissed her again. "Listen, how about you slip over? That way, I can get in bed with you so that we can cuddle up to each other." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, as that was exactly what she wanted to do right now; she wants to cuddle with Matt.
But first, he needed to get in bed with the woman he loves; which he did promptly after she asked him to. Getting in with Gabby, Matt smirked as he looked at her; at the same time, Gabby got close to Matt and proceeded to cuddle up to him. Wrapping her arms around Matt, Gabby smiled as she laid her head down on his chest as they cuddled up to each other; meanwhile, Matt grabbed the covers and tugged them on top of each other. After which, Matt put his hand on her back and proceeded to stroke it with his thumb. Turning his head, Matt smiled as he held his gorgeous wife in his arms. "How are you feeling?" Gabby smiled as Matt asked her how she was feeling. "Natalie gave me some pain meds, and they're in my side table." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before putting his hand on hers; after which, he stroked her hand with his thumb and turned his head to kiss her forehead softly this morning. "I love you so much." Looking up at Matt, Gabby smiled as she heard him say that; after which, he bent down to kiss her softly.
Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Matt smirked due to the fact that this is everything that the couple want to do right now. They want to take it easy, and they want to relax with each other; and that's exactly what they plan on doing for the entire day. "I promise that we're going to do this all day, okay?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, as that's exactly what she wanted to hear her husband tell her. "Good, because that's exactly what I want to hear." Matt smirked as he turned his head and kissed her forehead softly. "God, I am so happy that this is what we're doing." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, feeling the same way. "Good, because this is what you're stuck doing for a while." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case; after which, she just cuddled up to him before falling asleep in his arms early this morning.
