Now, this is the last chapter for today; so I hope you enjoy it. See you guys tomorrow when we go back to the Caseys. Yes, I am only doing one chapter with the Halsteads; and that's because the Caseys are currently taking a nap. And that means that I get a chance to check on the Halsteads, before starting the next storyline that I have for the Caseys; a storyline that I can't wait for you to read.

Chapter One Hundred and Twenty-Six
Day Five

Halstead Hospital Room, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
No father wants to be here, in the NICU with their newborn children; but that was where he was right now, because it was where he needed to be. He needed to be here for his wife, and for his children; his beautiful babies who were only five days old, and whom they've barely held. Sure, they've been able to touch them here and there; but it's not the same as what you could normally get, the skin-to-sin contract that you could normally get. But right now, that was not what Jay could have right now; for the simple fact that the babies needed to be in their hospital beds, which would allow them to thrive here at the hospital. And at the end of the day, that was what Jay wanted his children to do; he wanted them to thrive, so that he could take them home eventually, and he was so glad that was going to happen someday. But right now, he just needed to pray for them; and just hope that they're okay at the end of the day, which is everything that he wants. And the truth is, what everybody in their family wants, especially his brother, Dr. William Halstead.

So much so, that he always comes to check on his twin niece and nephew every once and a while; just like he was in the midst of doing, and so that he could offer Jay to do something that he hasn't seen him do for a while. And that was take Max out to the washroom, because the last thing he wanted was for him to go to the washroom in their room; because that wouldn't be good, since it meant that Will would have to get in his brother's face. After all, he told the hospital administration that he would be professional; and if something happened here that broke NICU rules, then his brother would have to hold his brother to the same standards that he would hold any other patient. And the truth is, he would do that in an instant; especially since he needed to make sure that his brother was held accountable for embarrassing. Yes, you heard that right, embarrassing him. I mean, he is Jay's brother; and he is going to be associated with anything that happens in his room, for the rest of his life. But now, it's time for Will to stop creeping his brother out.

Especially since Jay has now realized that his brother was there and called him out on it. "You do realize that I can see your bushy head in the shade, which means that I know that you're there Will." Laughing a bit as he heard Jay say that, Will agreed with him before smiling at his brother. "Do you mind if I come in and see my niece and nephew?" Getting up, Jay turned around and looked at his brother; after which, he smiled at his brother. "Of course, you can, if you're on a break at least. I am not going to get in trouble with the hospital if you aren't working when you should be." Will agreed with Jay as he said that, before smiling at her; after which, he smiled as he proceeded to walk into his and Alex's hospital room. Turning his head, Will smiled when he saw that Alex was still fast asleep; something that she needs right now, because she's quite worried. "Is Alex finally sleeping better?" Will sighed as he looked at his brother, before going to wash his hands; but first, Max decided to walk over to his 'uncle' Will so that he can get some attention.

Looking down at Max, Will laughed; after which, he turned his head and looked at his brother. "Can I…" Jay agreed with Will when he asked him whether he can rub his head, because he can. "Before you wash your hands, and not after." Will agreed with his brother as he said that, before smiling as he proceeded to rub his head. "Hey buddy, you miss me today?" Jay laughed as he heard Will say that. "Yeah, because he wants to see his uncle; more than he want to see his veteran owner." Will agreed with Jay as he said that, before smiling as he rubbed Max's head again; after which, Jay looked at Max. "Max, go lay down. You don't want your uncle Will to smell like dog if he has to go take care of a patient, who just so happens to be allergic to dogs." Will agreed with Jay when he said that, as that most definitely is something that he needs to worry about; and it's something that he didn't think about. But he most definitely is grateful that his brother thought about it, as he was going to make sure to change before he goes back to seeing more patients.

"Thanks for reminding me, and I will get changed before I go see more patients; it's something that I need to do soon anyways, because it's really hot down in the ED today. God, I think the A/C is down or something." Jay agreed with his brother as he said that, before walking over to him; after which, he (finally) hugged him this afternoon. He then proceeded to smell him and just agreed. "Oh god, you really do smell." Will laughed as he heard Jay say that, well aware that was the case. "I know, and I'm sorry about that." Jay shook his head. "No, it makes sense now why you decided to come up here now." Will sighed as he heard his brother say that. "Yeah, I thought that I'd come see you; and also, Max by extension, before I go take a shower and clean up before getting changed." Jay agreed with his brother as he said that, just smiling due to the fact that he was happy. "But damn, it's cold up here." Will agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I know that it's cold up here; and that's why I decided to come up here for a bit."

Jay then thought about it and agreed with Will as he said that. "Well, that makes sense; but seriously, that's the reason WHY you decided to come visit your niece and nephew?" Will smiled as he heard his brother say that, because that most definitely was (one) of the reasons why he wanted to come see his niece and nephew. "Jay, I wanted to come check on all of you guys too." Jay agreed with Will when he said that, before smiling at him. "Too bad you didn't tell me that you were coming up, because then I would've told you to take Max out first; then you would be able to come in, after you take him out." Will laughed as he heard Jay say that, well aware that was the case. "Okay, that makes sense." Will just smiled at him. "I'm not used to seventy-degree weather in early October." Jay laughed as he heard Will say that, as he agreed with him. "Oh, I feel the same way; can't say that Alex doesn't love it though." Will was a bit confused as his brother said that, before walking over to his niece and nephew. "Uhm, why exactly?" Jay just smirked.

"Oh, now I get it." Jay snickered as he heard Will say that, now well aware that he knew what he was talking about; after all, that was what he was thinking about right now. He was thinking about the fact that he gets some attention from Alex, with her running her hand over his body; and that was all he needed right now, because it was something that they could do easily. "So, how's Alex doing right now? Is she taking it easy?" Jay agreed with Will as he asked him that, because that most definitely is exactly what Alex was in the midst of doing; well, he hoped so. Turning around, he decided to make sure that was what she was still doing this afternoon, resting in bed, but no longer taking a nap. Looking at the woman he loves, Jay smiled as he now saw that Alex was awake. "Hey, when did you wake up?" Alex just sighed as she tried to sit up in bed. "Hey, stay down Alex; you know what Natalie, and your OB/GYN said. They said that you need to take it easy, and you need to relax." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, leaning back against her pillow.

At the same time, Jay smiled as he looked at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world; walking up to her afterwards, Jay smiled as he grabbed her hand and put his hand on the top of her head. "Hey, how was your nap?" Alex smiled as Jay asked her how her nap was because it was nice. "It was nice, and I'm glad that I napped." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before moving his hand to her neck; after which, he bent down and proceeded to kiss her softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Jay smiled due to the fact that this really is everything that he wants right now. He wants to hold the woman he loves close to him, and that may even mean getting in bed with her; but for now, he needs to make sure that they don't get too sexual in front of his brother. And that's due to the fact that he would rather not have to see his brother kissing his wife, which could lead to something else; not that he would do that, especially not when Alex is recovering in a hospital bed right now. And Jay knows her limits right now.

And those limits were mostly related to what she can do when it comes to movement, and not related to sexual limits whatsoever; after all, Jay would under no circumstance make love to his wife here in the hospital. Right now, they are here with their children; as well as his brother, which means that they need to be calm. "Do you need any pain meds right now? Maybe I can ask my brother to get some for you?" Alex smiled as Jay asked her that, as she most definitely does love how attentive her husband is; it just makes Jay the best husband in the entire world, and it (therefore) makes her the luckiest woman in the entire world. "Yeah, I'd like that." Turning around to look at his brother (who was currently checking on their kids), Jay smiled due to the fact that Will was currently talking to his niece. "Yeah, you're happy to see your uncle Will today…aren't you? You're happy that you're with your uncle Will." Jay laughed as he heard Will say that, before looking at Alex. "Here, want me to get in bed with you?" Alex smiled, as that was exactly what she wanted.

She wanted to cuddle up to her dreamy husband, as he holds her in their hospital bed. "Here, let me move over; then you can get in bed with me." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before watching as she slipped over in bed so that the man she loves could join her in bed. Opening the covers, Jay smirked as he proceeded to sit down next to his wife; after which, he wrapped his arm around her back and put his hand on her leg. Cuddling up to the man she loves, Alex then laid her head down on his chest and just cuddled up to Jay (who then tugged the covers up on top of the both of them). After which, Alex put her hand on Jay's chest and just smiled as she felt him put his hand on hers; but that was not all he did, as he also turned his head and kissed her forehead softly. Looking down at his beautiful wife as he held her close, Jay smirked as he bent down so that he could kiss her softly; taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Jay smirked due to the fact that this really is everything that he wants to do with her right now. Kissing her slowly.

"God, I am so happy that you just did that." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as he felt the same way about them sharing kisses; there's just nothing like the feeling of the both of them sharing some kisses, while they just relax in their hospital bed. Going to grab Jay's hand, Alex smiled as she intertwined their fingers and laid her head down on his chest again; after which, Jay ran his hand up and down her back (while also letting Alex listen to his heartbeat). And that always calmed her down, immediately. "God, I still love that sound that I have under her ear; the sound of your heartbeat." Jay laughed as he heard Alex tell him that, before wrapping his arm around her back; after which, he turned her head and smiled as he kissed her forehead softly. Turning to look at his brother as he did that, Will smiled due to the fact that he and Alex look quite adorable as they cuddle up to each other in bed, which is something that they always do when they're in their hospital bed, because they need to hold each other close, and just relax.

"How are you feeling right now Alex?" Alex smiled as she laid her head down on Jay's chest and just looked at Will, because she most definitely was feeling better. "I'm feeling better, and just trying to get through all of this." Will agreed with Alex as she said that, because that was exactly what he wanted to hear from his sister-in-law; he wanted her to be okay, and he wanted her to feel better. "Listen, if you ever need to talk to anybody; then just page me, and I will come see you guys…okay?" Jay agreed with Will as he said that, before going to shake his hand. "By the way, you were adorable with the kids." Will agreed with Jay as he said that, before smiling at him. "Listen, I still have another 20 minutes on my break; want me to take Max out for you, now that you're comfortable with Alex?" Jay laughed as he heard Will ask him that, as that most definitely is something that he would love; he would love it if he would take Max out, because he wants to just relax with Alex for a moment without Max interrupting them.

They were now alone (without Max) for the first time in a while, which is something that Alex most definitely appreciates; and that was due to the fact that it let her wake up, without Max being too loud. Walking back to bed from the washroom, Alex smiled as she looked at the man she loves (who refuses to take off his shirt), while he relaxed in bed today. "Are you sure that you can't take off your shirt?" Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, because that was something that he wasn't going to do for her; she needs to rest, and she needs to recover. Maybe after she gets her stitches out, he'll be okay with taking off his shirt. "Maybe after you get your stitches out, okay Alex?" Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, smiling as she made her way over to the hospital bed where they're going to keep relaxing with each other. Getting in bed with Jay, Alex smiled as she crawled over to him; after which, she moved to cuddle up to him. Smiling as Alex did that, Jay wrapped his arm around her back and then tugged the covers up on top of the both of them.

Cuddling up to Jay, Alex smiled as she put her hand on his toned chest; after which, she also put her leg in his lap as a way to tease her husband. Smirking as he felt Alex do that, Jay reached under the covers and put his hand on Alex's leg; after which, he turned his head and just smiled due to the fact that this is everything that he wanted to do right now. He wanted to hold the woman he loves close to him, as they relax in the hospital bed. Turning his head, Jay smiled as he kissed her forehead softly. "So, the kids are four days old now." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case; and she was happy. "And you seem to be much happier now, is that what's happening now?" Alex took a breath as she looked up at the man she loves. "I think it's due to the fact that things are just getting better with the babies." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as that most definitely is something that he's happy about too; after which, he smiled as Alex cuddled up to him. Afterwards, Jay wrapped his arm around her back this afternoon.

Turning his head, Jay smiled as he kissed her forehead once again; after which, he ran his hand up and down her back as a way to make sure that Alex just relaxed and held her close to him right now. "How are you feeling right now?" Alex smiled. "Comfortable and glad that we're relaxing." Jay agreed with Alex as she told him that, as that most definitely is something that he feels the same way about. Alex needs to relax, and she just needs to take it easy with his arm around her right now. "I think we both know that this is everything that we want to do right now, because we want to just relax right now." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, smiling due to the fact that she's very comfortable with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "So, what do you want to do right now? Do you want to turn the TV on or anything?" Alex sighed as Jay asked her that, while also laying her head down on his chest. "I love the idea; we can watch some of my soap operas." Jay looked down at Alex as she said that. "Excuse me?" Alex then looked up at Jay.

Reaching over to grab the TV remote, Jay just handed it over to Alex; and that was due to the fact that he didn't want to make his wife even more mad than she already was; after which, he wrapped his arm around her lower back once again. Bending down, Jay smiled as he proceeded to start taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world; and let's just say that was exactly what Alex wanted him to do right now, because she loves it when Jay kisses her. "God, you are so damn sexy; and I love it when we kiss each other." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, feeling the same way. "Oh, I know that." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, cuddling up to the man she loves once again; after which, she felt Jay grab her hand. Stroking her hand with his thumb, Jay smiled as he was incredibly comfortable with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world; and that was not just because she's his wife, and the mother of his children. It's due to the fact that she's also the love of his life.
