Chapter One Hundred and Forty
I Got You Breakfast, and a Journal
He just finished coming back upstairs from the cafeteria and gift shop, where he bought some things that Alex wanted this morning; things that she wish that she could've gotten for herself, but she couldn't as she's been ordered to stay in bed. But the truth was, Jay was glad that was the case; for the simple fact that he loves to take care of the woman he loves, and that's exactly what he was in the midst of doing right now. He was taking care of the woman he loves, as she's still on bedrest here at the hospital, which is something that Alex honestly loves, because she loves spending time with the man she loves. But preferably, she would like to spend some time with the man she loves…with him being shirtless; but that most definitely was not the case right now, because he just came back from being outside. But that was okay, because Alex would rather be the only woman to see Jay shirtless, which she most definitely will see soon, because she's going to give him an incentive to do just that. And that would be that he has to be shirtless if he wants to join her in bed, not that she would really enforce that deal; because she knows that he was just going to get in bed with her regardless.
After all, this was not just her hospital bed; rather, it was his bed too due to the fact that he was the father of the main patients that were being taken care of in this hospital room. Those patients would instead be their beautiful twins: Michael, and Olivia; the two little angels that Jay was currently in the midst of interacting with this beautiful Saturday morning. Looking at his beautiful daughter as he stood at her crib, Jay smirked as he put his hand on her neck and stroked her cheek. "Hello, my little princess, I hope you slept good last night." After which, he bent down and proceeded to kiss Liv's forehead softly, which was one of the most adorable things in the entire world, and always made Alex smile. And that was not just the case when he did it with their daughter, because she felt the same way when he does it with their son Michael. "Well, hello my handsome son; how are you feeling this morning? Are you okay my lil' man?" Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, before deciding to speak to the man she loves so that she can let him know she's awake. "I think that both he, as well as Olivia are both good; especially since I didn't hear them cry the entire time that you were gone."
Turning his head as he heard Alex speak to him this morning, Jay smiled as he was glad that he just heard her voice; after which, he decided to bend down and (finally) let Max off his leach. "Hey bud, I am going to let you off now. But you need to promise me that you're going to go right to your bed." Max agreed with Jay as he said that, before feeling Jay take off his leach; after which, he walked over to his bed so that he could lay down. At the same time, Jay smiled as he looked at the woman of his dreams, Ms. Alex Halstead. "Well, I am a bit surprised that you're awake." Alex shook her head when Jay said that because she knew that was not the case. "I think we both know that you're not surprised whatsoever, especially based on the time." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as that was the truth. After which, he decided to make his way over to her at their bed; after all, he does want something from his beautiful wife. Moving his hand to her neck, Jay smiled as he leaned over her and put his hand on her neck. "Hi beautiful." Alex smiled as she heard Jay tell her that, before putting her hand on his cheek; after which, he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves so much.
"God, I am so lucky to have you as my wife." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, glad that was the case; after which, she leaned her forehead against his while putting her hand on his cheek. "God, I am so glad that you're back; you know how I hate waking up when you're not in the room with me." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case. After which, he leaned in and proceeded to kiss him softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, Jay smirked due to the fact that this is everything that they both want right now; they want to hold each other close, and they just want to make sure that they take it easy with each other. And that was due to the fact that Alex is still recovering, which is something that they both know means that they just need to relax. "Okay, we need to calm down so that you can keep resting." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I know." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that, before getting up and just smiling at the woman he loves; after which, he noticed that Max just jumped on their hospital bed after he took a drink. "Hey Max, how was your walk today?"
Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that, really happy that she was okay with Max being on the bed; however, that was not something that he was okay. And that was due to the fact that he was in his spot, where he was about to have breakfast with the woman he loves. "Seriously? You're in the midst of sitting in my spot Max." Turning to look at his patient, Max was about to bark; that was, until Alex grabbed his nuzzle since she didn't want him to wake up the twins. Turning his head, Alex looked at the dog. "You wake up my kids, then you don't get any treats today; and you get to be stuck on your bed all day, with Jay not going to take you on a run. So, either shut up, and don't wake up my children. Or I am going to give you hell." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, well aware that was something that Alex would do. "Okay, take it easy and just relax baby." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before walking over to the door to their hospital suite; after all, they want to be alone with each other right now. They want to just make sure that they get to spend some time together, which is exactly what Alex wants to tell you the truth; she wants to be alone with her loving husband.
"So, did you get everything that I wanted you to get me?" Turning to look at Alex, Jay agreed with her as that most definitely was what something that he did for her. He got her everything that she wanted, including the journal that she was going to use while they are here in the hospital; and that he was going to read at times, because he knew that Alex always had a hard time talking to him. And that was why Jay really thought that her writing in a journal would really be a great idea and was planning on encouraging it every single day. And that was something that Alex most definitely knew and was ready to do without any encouragement; because then, Jay could know what was going on in her head without her having to tell him. But right now, that was not what she was concentrating on; because there was something else that she wanted to concentrate on, and that was her loving (and sexy) husband. After all, that's exactly what she wants to see. She wants to see her husband strip off for her, which is exactly what he soon did. Smirking as she looked at Jay as he did that, Alex was really happy right now; and the truth was, Jay already knew that. "Oh, you like that; don't you?"
Alex agreed with Jay as he asked her that, as that most definitely was the truth; she was incredibly happy over the fact that he was currently shirtless, and just showing off for her at the moment. "God, you are so damn sexy." Jay laughed as he heard his beautiful wife say that, before proceeding to make his way over to her; after all, there was something that he wanted before he gave Alex some breakfast. And that was a nice kiss. Just walking up to the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, Jay smirked as he leaned over her and put his hand on her neck; after which, he kissed her softly and took things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "God, you are so damn sexy." Alex agreed with Jay as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I know; and I know that you want me bad, but I can't give you what you want right now." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, but he was okay with that; and that was due to the fact that he would rather she relax, than they have sex with each other right now. "I'm okay with us relaxing and just taking it easy, I promise Alex." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, smiling at her husband.
"I love you, and I hope that you know that I am so glad that this is where we are; no matter the circumstances, I really like that we're together as a family." Jay agreed with Alex as she told him that, well aware that was the case. "Hey, that was never something that I was going to doubt. And that's what we're going to do, until the kids are out of the hospital; there's nowhere I'd rather be, other than with you at the hospital." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I already know that Jay." Jay agreed with Alex as she told him that, smirking due to the fact that his wife truly is absolutely gorgeous; something that Alex very much knows. "God, you are so damn sexy; and I am so glad that you're my wife." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "I know that Jay, but you need to calm down and relax now okay?" Jay agreed with Alex, before grabbing her hand. "Listen, how about we get you sitting up? Then we can make sure that you take it easy and relax." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that. After which, she started to sit up today. "Can you move the bed to sit up?" Jay agreed with Alex, before doing just that for her.
She was now sitting up, and very comfortable in bed; but now, she was just waiting for the man of her dreams to come back and join her in bed. And that most definitely was something that Jay was ready to do as well, because he loves the idea of them holding each other close and just cuddling up to each other; and that was due to the fact that Alex is the love of his life, and there's nobody he'd rather be spending some time with right now. And that was due to the fact that this really is something great. Walking out of the washroom with some water for Max, Jay smiled as he proceeded to set it down so that he could make sure that he was calm. "There we go boy, and just make sure that you relax buddy." Max agreed with his boss as he said that, before getting close to the water bowl so that he can take a sip of water; after which, Jay smiled as he proceeded to make his way back over to Alex in their bed. "You like the breakfast that I got for you?" Alex laughed as Jay asked her whether she was enjoying the breakfast that he got for her, as she most definitely does like it. But not as much as she likes the sight in front of her, and that would be her shirtless husband this morning.
"Well, I have to say that I don't like the breakfast as much as I like this." Laughing as he looked at the woman he loves, Jay knew exactly what she was talking about; she was talking about the fact that he was currently shirtless, and that was the exact reason what he was currently shirtless. He wanted to make sure that Alex was happy, but that she also relaxed; and by him being shirtless, it allowed for Alex to relax since she no longer had to basically beg him to take off his shirt. "Thanks again for this by the way, I am so glad that you got me the breakfast you got me." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, smiling at the woman he loves. "Hey, it's no problem; and I am just happy that you're comfortable right now." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, due to the fact that she most definitely was comfortable. "Well, I am going to get much more comfortable in a moment." Jay snickered as he heard Alex say that; well aware of what she was talking about. She was talking about the fact that they were going to be holding each other in bed, and just relax together. Going to grab his breakfast, Jay then smiled as he proceeded to bring the table that he was going to use closer to them.
"So, what do you want to do today?" Alex sighed as Jay asked her that. "I was thinking of drawing…" Jay sighed. "Alex, we're on leave until the new year." Alex agreed with Jay as she said that, well aware that was the case. "I know what you mean, then I think that we just take it easy as we watch a movie together." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as he most definitely does like the idea of the both of them just watching a movie together. "And I think that's exactly what we need to do. We need to watch a movie, because you need to relax and just take it easy." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, glad that he was feeling the same way. "Well, I most definitely am ready to just take it easy right now. But first, you need to get in bed with me please." Jay agreed with Alex as she told him that, well aware of the fact that she wants him in bed; but she doesn't want him in bed in a sexual way if that's what you're thinking, because she needs to just take it easy and relax. She doesn't need to do anything other than cuddle up to the man of her dreams, all day. After all, what's better than the two of them just holding each other close as they cuddle in bed with each other right now.
"God, I am so ready to just hold you close now that you're back in bed." Jay agreed with Alex, smiling at the woman he loves. "Okay, you really need to take it easy and just relax now; okay Alex?" Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, before smiling at him; after which, Jay got his table set up close to his side of the hospital bed. He then got in bed and smiled as he proceeded to get close to the woman he loves, wrapping his arm around her like she wants him to do. Turning his head shortly after he got in bed, Jay smiled at his beautiful wife and then proceeded to grab the blankets; tugging them up on top of the both of them, Jay smiled as he looked at the woman he loves. And it was just then that she finally realized that he was looking at her, when he was tugging the covers up on top of the both of them. "Creep." Laughing a bit as he heard Alex say that, Jay got nice and close to his gorgeous wife right now. "Really, you're going to call me a creep…when you're the one that ogles me every single time I take off my shirt?"
Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, before watching as he got close to him; after which, Jay leaned in and proceeded to kiss her softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Jay smirked due to the fact that this is everything that he wants right now. He wants to make sure that they just take it easy with each other, and make sure that they're relaxing right now. "God, you are so beautiful." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "Thanks baby, and I am glad that you're back. I missed you when I woke up." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case; after all, that was always the case, and he just knows that she needs to relax. "I know you do, but you need to remember that I'm here and back with you." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, before going to grab his hand; after which, he intertwined their fingers and just smirked due to the fact that this is perfect right now. "I'm just glad that I have my husband back, and that you're here with me." Jay took a breath.
"Bad dream again?" Alex looked down and took a breath. "Yeah, it was uhm..." Jay didn't need to hear anything; and that was due to the fact that she's had this dream before, and he just hates the fact that she has to continue to have this dream. After which, he kissed the side of her head and just held her close. "Hey, take a breath and turn your head so that you can look into my eyes." Turning her head, Alex agreed as she looked into Jay's eyes. After which, he proceeded to intertwine their fingers as he leaned in and kissed her softly. "Baby, I love you; and you don't need to hide things from me, especially when I already know what the dream is about." Alex took a breath when she heard Jay say that, well aware of the fact that he knew what dream she was talking about; and the dream was of one of their twins not making it. "Baby, they're going to make it. And they're going to be okay, I promise." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, well aware that she had to believe that. "Listen, how about we eat; and then I can hold you?" Alex agreed, nodding.
Climbing back into bed with Alex after bringing their garbage to the trash can, Jay took a breath as he wrapped his arm around Alex; tugging the covers up again (just like he did before they had breakfast), Jay then smiled as he turned his head and then kissed the top of her head. After all, this is everything that he wants right now. He wants to hold the woman he loves in his arms, and he wants to make sure that she feels better. And that's exactly what Alex wants right now. She wants to hold Jay in her arms, so that he can make her feel better. Putting his hand on her arm, Jay ran his hand up and down her arm as they both held each other close. "Alex, please listen to me. Alex, the kids are going to be okay; and you already know that. The kids are going to be fine, and we are going to make sure that they are happy right now. They are safe, they are taken care of; and they are always going to be safe, because we have the best people in the entire world taking care of them right now. And that includes Natalie." Alex agreed with Jay, smiling.
"I know, and I am so glad that they took a job here; rather than the two of them getting a job at the normal hospital, because this is where I want to be a patient from now on." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case. "And I feel the same way, because I am so glad that we're here. This place is really nice, and I am just glad that this is exactly what we need to do right now. We need to hold each other close, and we need to relax together; and I need to be held by the man of my dreams." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that. "Do you need me to call him?" Looking up at the man she loves, Alex smiled due to the fact that Jay already knew that he's the man of her dreams. "Jay, you already know that you're the man of my dreams." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, well aware that was the case. "Hey, I know that Alex; and I am so glad that's the case. But truly, I am just happy right now. And we're glad that we're cuddling to each other." That's when Alex decided to reach over and grab the TV remote, because she's bored.
"Really, you can't just cuddle up to me? And you need to watch TV?" Turning her head, Alex smiled as she looked at the man she loves. "Jay, I am not going to do anything with you; I am just going to relax, and I am going to take it easy. Do you really think that I want to be sexy with my husband right now?" Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I am well aware of the fact that you like to hold me in your arms, and that you want to do it today; and that most definitely is exactly what we're going to do for the entire day." Alex agreed with Jay as she said that, before smiling. "Well, maybe not the entire day; I might write in my new journal at some point, thanks again for getting that for me." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as it was his pleasure. "Hey, it was my pleasure Alex. I want to make sure that you're okay, and that's exactly what you are now." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before smiling as he bent down and kissed her softly. "God, I love you so much; and I am so glad that this is what we're doing." Jay agreed.
"Me too, and I am more than ready to just relax all day; and maybe even write in my journal." Jay smiled. "Just lay down right now baby, and take it easy okay? You need to relax, and you just need to take it easy. I promise that you can write later, and you can write later." Alex agreed with Jay as she said that, before wrapping her arms around his torso; after which, Jay wrapped his arm around her back before turning his head and just smiled as he kissed the top of her head. That was, until he heard Alex's phone ring on his side table. Going to grab it, Jay sighed when he saw who was calling; more specifically, it was one Hank Voight. Taking a break, Jay sighed and turned to look at Alex. "Can I…" Alex agreed with Jay as she laid her head down on his chest some more. "Yes, you can. I want to cuddle up to my man right now, and just hold you close; because this is very comfortable, and I still need to wake up some more." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Sorry I wasn't here when you woke up." Alex shook her head.
"Hey, it's okay. You always have to do things, and you got me some good breakfast; I know that you need to go early to get me that breakfast, and I appreciate that." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before bending down and proceeding to kiss her again. "And I thought that I could just get it done sooner, so that I could be here longer." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, really happy that was the case. "And I'm glad, because I love cuddling up to my dreamy husband." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, well aware that was the case. "Good, because you're stuck with me for the rest of the day now." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, as that was exactly what she wanted to hear. She wanted to be with her loving husband, and she just wanted to relax with him; and luckily, that was exactly what she was in the midst of doing right now. She was cuddling up to the man of her dreams, as they held each other close in their hospital bed. "I can't wait to do this at home." Turning his head, Jay agreed with Alex; after all, he felt the same way.
Turning his head, Jay looked down at the woman he loves. "Hey, look up at me." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before looking up at the man she loves. "I promise you right now, that we will do that when we're home; and I'm going to treat you as if you just gave birth, because that's what I want you to feel. I want you to feel that way, and I am counting down the days until we have the kids home with us." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, before laying her head down on his chest once again. After which, he bent down and proceeded to kiss the top of her head. And that was exactly what Alex wanted him to do, because it made her feel so loved. "I am so glad that this is what we're doing. Thanks again for kissing the top of my head." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, because he's more than okay with him kissing the top of her head. "Hey, I will do that for the rest of my life. And I promise that'll always be the case." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case; especially since she loves her incredible husband so much.
