Hi Readers: I want to first start by apologizing for the long delay between the last chapter, and this chapter. However, I had to go out this afternoon to get some things done; and that was why I was MIA this afternoon. I hope you can forgive me and accept a bunch of new chapters as my way of giving back what you've been missing. Now, what do you say we start with some more chapters?

Chapter One Hundred and Forty-Seven
Daddy's Back, and Ready to Eat

It took him a good forty-seven minutes, but he was finally back with Max and some food. And let's just say that Alex is not the happiest over the fact that Jay took so long, because she's hungry now. No, she's hangry now. And that's not an Alex that you want to mess with. You never want to mess with a hangry Alex, because she can easily snap at you; and that was why Jay decided to get something special for his beautiful wife. Something that they don't often have at the cafeteria, but that he specifically made sure to grab while he was there; as it was his way to try and get back in Alex's good graces, which is where he needs to be if he wants to get any action when they're back home with the twins. And while he's okay with not having sex so that his wife (and their beautiful children) can recover, that doesn't mean that Jay isn't still craving it. I mean, have you seen his wife? She's gorgeous, and that would any man make her want her in bed; but god, Jay is so damn lucky to be the only man whom Alex will ever want to be in bed with. Because that's what he is.

He feels like the luckiest man in the entire world, and he really does love his wife more than anything in the entire world; for the simple fact that Alex is the mother of his beautiful twins, and the love of his life. And he's never been able to say that for any other woman that he's loved, because he's never felt this way about any other woman that he loved; Alex is just something else, and she understands him better than anybody in the entire world. Heck, she even understands him more than his brother ever has; and that may be due to the fact that he truly believes that he can be more open and let his guard down with Alex. He can talk to her about things that he's never felt like he could talk to anybody else about, and that he's felt like he's had to keep inside of him; but Alex has really gotten him out of his shell, and she's truly changed his life for the better. And he means that more than she'll ever know, but he hopes that he can show her in the way that he can treat her; in the way that he can show her that he loves her, with actions.

Because yes, he can always say that he loves her; but there's just something about showing Alex that he loves her that makes him happy, which is everything that he always does. It's something that he does each and every day, and she's glad that this is what they're going to do for the rest of their lives; they're going to make each other happy, as they ensure that their children feel loved. Because that's something else that Jay wants to do for the rest of his life, he wants to make his children know that he loves them; and that starts with him making his way over to them, after he (quickly) speaks to his sister-in-law and gives Alex a kiss. "I can only assume that you guys had a good conversation based on how comfortable you are in bed Natalie?" Turning her head, Natalie smiled as she saw that her brother-in-law was back, which was what she was actually looking out for, so that she could head back to work. That, and she also knows that he and Alex are going to want to be alone with each other; as they enjoy a nice lunch together, in their hospital bed.

"Oh, me and Alex are just having fun and talking; she's giving me some tips over how to do stuff when it comes to the pregnancy and more." Jay agreed with Natalie as she said that, well aware that was something that Alex was doing for Natalie; and that was due to the fact that he was doing the same for Will, since he's worried when it comes to letting Natalie down as a father. And that's actually something that he's going to tell Natalie, so that she can speak to Will about it; and so that he can calm down and just relax, because he's been there, and he's seen the affect that it can have on your spouse (and the pregnancy). It can make them feel like they're hiding something, which is the last thing that any man needs to do when his wife is pregnant; rather, they need to be open with their spouse. And thanks to what Jay is about to do, Will is going to be able to do that with Natalie; but first, he decided to ask Alex whether she spoke to Natalie about it first (because yes, he told Alex so that he could get her advice on whether to say something to Natalie).

Looking at the woman he loves, Jay took a breath as he smiled at her. "Alex, did you already talk to Natalie about…" Interrupting her brother-in-law, Natalie decided to answer the question that Jay was going to ask; because she already knew what he was going to ask his wife, since that was actually what they were just talking about. "Jay, if you're going to ask whether Alex spoke to me about how Will is feeling…then you have no need to worry about that, because she did speak to me about it." Getting up from the bed, Natalie smiled as she proceeded to make her way over to Jay; that way, she could give him a hug and thank from for everything that he's doing for Will. More specifically, how he's really been a great sounding board for her husband; because that's what he needs at times, and he needs to just have somebody that he can talk to. And in return, Jay needs to know what he can talk to them whenever they need to; especially her, since she can probably help him out whenever he has problems with Alex…just like Jay just did for Will.

Getting out of their bed, Natalie smiled as she looked at her brother-in-law as he walked over to the table that he and Alex have in their room; after which, he set their food down on the table. Meanwhile, Max got close to him (since he was still on his leach) so that he could let him have freedom. Looking down at his service dog, Jay smiled as he bent down and then proceeded to unclip his leach from his collar. After which, he proceeded to take off his vest (which he always does when he's in the hospital room); that way, he's comfortable when he lays down on his bed. "Go lay down boy." Nodding, Max proceeded to walk away so that he can go lay down on his bed; after which, Jay got up and turned around to look at his wife and sister-in-law (who was currently making her way over to him as she wanted to hug him today). "Jay, I want to thank you for what you did for Will; and I promise that you're going to really help me and Will." Jay agreed with Natalie as she said that, glad that was the case. "Good, and I'm glad that you're okay with what he did."

Natalie agreed with Jay as he said that, smiling at him. "Hey, of course I'm okay with Will speaking to you rather than go ahead and speak to me directly. I know that it's hard to speak to your spouse, and I'm just glad that he has somebody to speak to." Jay agreed with Natalie as she said that, because that's something that his brother can always count on him for; somebody to talk to things about, especially as he prepares to be a father. "Natalie, I hope you know that you and Will can always talk to us; and you can always get advice from us, because it may help us too." Alex was a bit confused as she heard Jay say that, unsure as to what he meant by that. "What do you mean by that Jay?" Smiling at his beautiful wife, Jay went ahead and answered her question. "It will lead to us having conversations, conversations that we may not know that we need to have; and if we have them, then I think we will really appreciate the fact that we're going to have them." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, as that was something that she liked as well.

"Well, I most definitely do like the sound of that." Jay agreed with Alex as she told him that, glad that she felt that way. "Good, so you understand what I said then?" Alex smiled, agreeing with the man she loves; after which, she extended her hand and just smiled at the man she loves. "Come here you." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before smiling as he made his way over to her; that way, he can do exactly what she wants him to do. And that was kiss her softly. After all, what's better than the two of them sharing a quick kiss before they eat. Smiling at his gorgeous wife, Jay just got close to her and then leaned over her; putting his hand on the side of her face, Jay smiled as he bent down and proceeded to take things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, glad that was the case. "And I love you, and always will." That's when Jay and Alex both heard Natalie speak to him, while she was standing at the crib. "I have to say, you guys are adorable."

Seeing Natalie cry a bit, Alex smiled. "Oh god, I think we got the hormones going Jay." Going to wipe her eyes, Natalie took a breath as she hated the fact that she was crying. "Oh god, I hate hormones." Natalie then made her way over to the counter (where Jay set the food down), before going to grab one of the Kleenexes that they have in the hospital room; after which, she went to wipe her eyes. "God, I hate that you made me hormonal and then cry." Jay agreed with Natalie as she said that, clearly able to see that was the case. "Of course." Natalie smiled as she turned her head and just looked at her brother-in-law, who soon walked back over to her so that he can hug her; after which, he smiled as he went to hug her. "Thanks again for staying with her while I was gone." Natalie agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that he was grateful for what she did for him. "It was my pleasure Jay, because I know that you're worried for your kids." Jay agreed with Natalie as she said that as that was he truth, but not in Alex's eyes; as she definitely disagreed.

Well, not with the statement; rather, she disagreed with who he was worried about. And that was due to the fact that he wasn't JUST worried about their children, as he was also worried about her on a daily basis; which is why she has to call the statement that Natalie just made an understatement, and she's going to say that. "Now, that's a big understatement; because we all know that Jay isn't just worried for the kids, but he's also worried about me." Turning around to look at his beautiful wife, Jay agreed as that most definitely was the case; and it will always be a fact, due to the fact she's his wife…and the love of his life. "Do you really expect me to do anything other than worry about you, when you're my wife and the love of my life?" Making his way back over to Alex, Jay smirked as he got ready to kiss his wife again; and that was something that Alex most definitely wanted. She wanted her loving husband to kiss her softly, and just hold her close to him. "You're the love of my life too." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, smiling at his wife.

Leaning over his beautiful wife as soon as he was standing next to their bed, Jay smiled as he put his hand on her neck and then kissed her softly; taking things nice and slow with Alex, Jay smirked due to the fact that this is everything that they both want to do right now. They want to make sure that they show each other love and respect, which is great. "God, you are so beautiful." That's when Natalie decided to tell her in-laws that she was leaving, so that they could have some time alone. "Hey guys, I'm going to give you guys some time okay?" Turning around to look at Natalie, Jay agreed with her and smiled. "Of course, thanks again for staying here while I was gone." Natalie agreed with Jay as he said that. "It was my pleasure, and I'll do it again next time; just page me, and I will be back." Jay agreed with Natalie as she said that, before watching as she walked away (closing the door in the process); at the same time, Jay turned around to look at his beautiful wife. "You need anything before I get in the bed, so that we can eat?" Alex smirked.

"Shirt." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, well aware of just what she meant by that; she wanted him to take off his shirt, which he did shortly after she asked him to do so. And that was due to the fact that he was here to please his gorgeous wife.

To say that Alex liked the sight of her dreamy husband shirtless, well that was an understatement; especially when he's such a hunk, which he knows. He knows that he turns her on more than anything in the entire world, which is why she always wants him to be shirtless; and Jay's more than okay with that, which is why he pretty much always just takes off his shirt when they're alone. It's because he wants to get attention from his wife, attention that he knows he's guaranteed if he takes his shirt off. He just wishes that Alex was wearing some lingerie for him, because then he'd have the same amount of pleasure that she was having right now as she watched him walk around their hospital room; shirtless, wearing nothing but the sweatpants that she loves when he wears. "If you think you're getting me to take off my pants, then you're crazy Ms. Halstead; I am not taking off my pants, and that's final." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, as that most definitely was exactly what she wanted to hear; because she didn't want him in his boxers, not yet at least. Right now, she just wants him to say like this; because she wants that package of his to remain hers, and only hears.

"Oh, I am telling you right now; you aren't going to be taking off those pants anytime soon, because that package of yours belongs to me." Jay snickered as he heard Alex tell him that, well aware that was the case; after which, he proceeded to make his way over to his beautiful wife. That way, he can join her in bed and just hold her close to him; after all, that was exactly what they both wanted to do right now. They wanted to hold each other close, and just relax in each other's arms. Smiling as he looked at his beautiful wife, Jay smirked as he walked right up to the woman he loves (on her side of the bed). After which, he leaned over her and smiled as he put his hand on her neck, which then proceeded to kiss her softly, taking things nice and slow with the most beautiful woman in the entire world. "God, you are so damn sexy." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, and you are so damn sexy too Jay." Jay agreed with Alex as he said that, before smiling gas he kissed her once again; after all, he was incredibly happy.

"I love you." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I hope you know that I know that Jay, and that you don't need to tell me that all the time." Jay agreed with Alex as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Of course, I know that Alex, but that doesn't mean that I don't like to tell you regardless." Alex agreed with her loving husband as he said that, glad that was the case; however, she was starting to get a little annoyed right now. And that was due to the fact that he was stalling, and because she wants in him in bed (both physically, and sexually). I mean, what wife doesn't want a man like Jay in her bed; as often as she can, because he's such a hunk. More specifically, he's her military hunk. "Okay, are you just going to get in bed with me now?" Jay agreed with Alex as she asked him whether he was going to join her in bed, which was exactly what he was going to do. He was going to join her in bed so that they can cuddle up to each other, which is exactly what they both want to do with each other right now.

Wrapping his arm around Alex shortly after climbing back into bed with her, Jay smiled as he proceeded to bring their food close to the both of them; that way they can enjoy a nice lunch together. And let's just say that was exactly what they both wanted to do. They want to enjoy a nice lunch with each other, while they also watch some TV together; and that was due to the fact that Alex just put the show back on. Turning his head as she did that, Jay smiled as he kissed the side of her head and just held her close. "By the way, I forgot to say this a couple days ago; happy ten months." Alex laughed as she heard Jay tell her that, before going to grab the wrap that he got for her; after which, she brought her wrap close to her and took a bite. "God, I am still shocked that we've only been married for ten months; it feels like we've been married for much longer." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as he felt the same way. "That's probably because I've had your back for years." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, smiling as he turned his head.

"I know what you mean. But god, I am just so that that we have this life with each other; because this really is the life that I've always wanted. A life with my gorgeous wife, Alex Halstead." Alex laughed as she heard Jay say that, well aware of that fact; after which, she watched as he turned his head and kissed her shoulder softly. Smiling as she felt Jay kiss her shoulder, Alex leaned back and then put her hand on his cheek. Smiling as he felt Alex do that, Jay wrapped his arm around her so that he could keep her close to him; after which, he put his hand on her leg and went to go take another bite of his wrap. "So, what are you thinking about right now as we eat lunch?" Alex smiled as Jay asked her what she was thinking about while they were eating lunch. "I'm thinking that I'm very comfortable, and happy that I have my husband back in my arms." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I am sure that you're very happy to have me back in your arms. Well, you in my arms more specifically." Alex agreed with Jay.

"Oh, and I'm also happy that we finally have Michael and Olivia." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that, well aware that was the case. "I know you are." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, before taking another bite of her food before thinking about something; something that she and Jay have never talked about, but that she doesn't know whether she should even ask him. At least, she was thinking about not asking him; until Jay spoke to her and asked her what was on her mind. "So, what do you have on your mind Alex?" Turning her head, Alex smiled as she looked at the man she loves. "I guess, I was just thinking about something that I've yet to ask you yet." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that. "Are you going to tell me what that is now? That way, we can talk about it?" Alex agreed with Jay as she asked him that, before nodding. But first, she decided to preface her question. "Okay, listen; I am just going to say this. I know that this is something that I shouldn't have to ask you, because I know that you're happy regardless." Jay agreed with Alex.

However, he also knew what Alex was asking him; she was trying to ask him whether he was okay with the fact that they a son and a daughter, rather than them having two daughters (which they originally thought that they were going to have). "But still, I can't help but want to know; and just ask you the question, as I…" Jay then went to lean closer to his beautiful wife, before turning her head; after which, he moved his hand her under chin (which led to Alex calming down). Jay then shut her up by putting his finger on her lips, which she most definitely loves. After which, Jay bent down and kiss Alex; that way, they can take things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. The woman who just so happens to also be the mother of his children, his beautiful daughter; as well as their handsome son, whom he already loves more than anything. At the end of the day, all that mattered was the fact that she made him a father; not the gender of their children, and that was what he was going to tell her right now.

But first, they're going to finish eating. That way, they can cuddle up to each other as they talk; because that was what they needed to do right now, they needed to have lunch and just take a breath. Because if Alex started to think about it too much, then she was going to obsess about it; and that was the last thing that Jay wanted, as it would distract Alex rather than let her relax. And that was what Alex needed to do right now, she needed to relax and just take it easy; and that was due to the fact that she's still recovering from giving birth. "Alex, take a breath and just relax. You need to take a breath and just relax okay?" Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Right, of course." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, smiling at the woman he loves; after which, he kissed the side of her head again as they both held each other close. "Listen, let's just finish eating. And then we can cuddle up to each other as we talk about it." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, because that was exactly what she wanted to do.
