Hi Readers: Sorry for the confusion when it comes to the last chapter, but I ended up having to do a bit of editing; and I just wanted to make sure that it was formatted correctly, and I'm still not sure whether it was. But hopefully, you guys are okay with it; and we can just continue as I have an idea for this chapter, an idea that I want to write before I forget it. Let me know what you guys think.

Also: I want to let you know that this chapter is a lot shorter, because of the transition that I want to create. But still, I hope you like it.

Chapter One Hundred and Seventy-Two
A Day to Breathe, Relax and Grieve: To Celebrate, or Not to Celebrate?

To say that Gabby was happy to be back in bed with Matt, well that would be a lie…because there are so many mixed emotions that come with her being in bed with Matt right now, and every single time that they've been in bed with each other (during the day) since they learned the news; and that's because most of the time that they've been spending in bed, is really just the both of them grieving for the lost that they suffered. And that's not something that she likes to thing about, not when she wants to (instead) be happy when she's in bed with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. But her being happy right now, just isn't in the cards; because she needs to do this right now, she needs to grieve the loss of their third child. Yet, at the same time…she's trying to be happy for their friends, who just got home from the hospital with their twins today. So, that's a lot to take in, and a lot of emotions that she has to deal with all at once; and she was hoping to be a good mom and spend time with the boys today (as it's the weekend).

But rather, she's here in bed; spending some time alone with Matt, rather than spending time with Matteo and Noah (like she believes she should be). She just hopes that it doesn't make her selfish, wanting this time with Matt; and speaking of Matt, who better to ask when it comes to whether she's being selfish when it relates to her wanting to be alone with him…while they grieve for the loss of their son, which is something that they need to do together anyways. So, that's another thing that's bothering her; how this might not just be something that she wants to do, but it may be something that Matt wants to do as well. So, by asking the question, there's a chance that she risks offending Matt by even asking him his question, but she also knows that Matt won't let her get away with not talking to him about something that she (obviously) has on her mind right now. In fact, Matt just turned to kiss the top of her head; that way, he could get Gabby's attention. And that's exactly what he got, as Gabby soon turned her head to look up at Matt.

Smiling at the woman he loves, Matt ran his fingers up and down her back so that he could (try) and make her feel better; after all, he knows that he won't be able to do it very easily…not when she's in deep mourning for something that they both wanted for the longest time, which is more children. Bending down after looking up at Matt for a moment, Gabby proceeded to kiss his chest; while Matt ran his hand up and down her back, kissing the top of her head at the same time. After all, that was the simplest way for him to show him that he's here for her; and that he's available to talk, whenever she wants to talk to him. Right now, Matt's more than okay with him just holding her close; at the same time, they can relax and just take it easy while they grieve. Because Matt knows that's the real reason for them taking this day alone, so that she could mourn away from the boys. Wrapping his arm around her back as they both held each other close, Matt smiled as he put his hand on her leg; at the same time, he moved his other hand on top of hers.

On top of her hand, which was currently on his chest as she stroked it with her thumb; that way, he could give her a bit of (non-sexual) attention (which Gabby most certainly wants). She wants his full, undivided (non-sexual) attention, as it will allow her to grieve (with his help). And it's already helping, even though it's still hard; especially when their anniversary is Friday, which makes her wonder what's going to happen on that day (in light of the recent turn of events). With them being all sad, should they really celebrate their anniversary, when it's just going to be during this sad time; she just hopes that Matt understands where she's coming from, and is open to having this conversation with her. "Matt?" Turning his head to look down at Gabby, Matt smiled. "Yeah babe?" Turning her head to look up at Matt, Gabby (faked) a smile as she stared into her eyes; at the same time, Gabby decided that she wouldn't bring it up. And that was because it didn't really matter at the end of the day, only they mattered right now. "You know what, never mind."

Shaking his head as he heard Gabby say that, Matt moved his finger under her chin; after which, Matt pushed it up and looked down at his girl. He then bent down and smiled as he proceeded to kiss her softly, before whispering to her. "I'm not going to be left hanging like that again, and I want to hear you talk to me if you need to talk to me; so, I'm going to ask you to talk to me now Gabby. What's up? What do you need to talk to me about?" Taking a breath, Gabby knew that she had to talk to Matt right now; that was something that Gabby couldn't deny, especially not when Matt could tell. Laying her head down on Matt's chest again, Gabby cuddled up to him (while slipping her legs in between his) to get the comfort she needs; ahead of her asking him the question that she has on her mind, which she promptly did after getting comfortable. "I'm just thinking about Friday." Matt then thought about the significance of that date, until he realized that. "Shit, our anniversary is Friday." Gabby looked up at her husband as he said that, not impressed.

"Don't tell me that you actually forgot the fact that our anniversary is Friday Mr. Casey." Matt shook his head. "Just had to think about it for a second, because a lot has happened recently; I got lost when it came to the date, and I just…I knew it was coming up, but I thought it was…." Gabby then realized what he was trying to say, and just cuddled up to the love of her life once again; trying to give him the message that everything was okay, because it was okay. Everything was fine in between him and will always be fine in between them. "It's okay baby, I get it; you have a lot on your mind." Matt shook his head as he heard Gabby say that, as that was no excuse. "That's no excuse Gabby, it's a big day for us; it's our anniversary. Our third anniversary, and first one as parents." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I know, but I'm not going to want to celebrate when this happened. Can we maybe…" Matt sighed as he heard Gabby start to go down this path, well aware of what she wants to do on their anniversary.

"You want to skip our anniversary this year?"

Well, that's one way to say what Gabby was thinking of doing; she just didn't want to use those exact terms, especially not when it's related to their anniversary. I mean, the way he said it was horrible; and she can't help but wonder whether he realizes just how horrible it sounds. And the truth was, Matt thought about how horrible it sounded the minute he said it; and that's why he's currently in the midst of trying to get onto Gabby's good side, as he wants to apologize to her. "Shit, I'm so sorry Gabby. That's not what I mean to say. It came out…" Gabby shook her head as she heard Matt say that, as that was something that she was thinking too; whether or not they are really in a celebrating mood, when they are both pretty sad right now. "To tell you the truth, I was thinking the same thing; especially not when we're in this headspace." Matt agreed with Gabby, before turning his head and kissing her forehead softly. "As long as we don't skip the sex." Turning her head, Gabby looked up at the man of her dreams and laughed a bit.

After all, she was thinking the same way. I mean, of course she's thinking that way; she loves having sex with the man of her dreams, and it's something that she most definitely wants to (try) and do this Friday on their anniversary. "I think that I can agree to that." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before wrapping his arm around her waist; after which, he bent down and kissed her softly. Just taking things nice and slow with Gabby, Matt smiled as they're both really happy right now. "I still can't believe everything that's happened this year; because we've had quite a year." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, as they have dealt with a lot over the past year. "We moved to Hawaii, twice." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that. "We became Millionaires a year ago." Matt then realized something as he looked down at Gabby. "I think I actually found out a year ago today to tell you the truth." Gabby smiled as she thought about that, before stroking his chest with her thumb. "And then four and a half months later, we had the boys."

Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before wrapping his arm around her back and holding her close; at the same time, he put his hand on her back and stroked it with his thumb. He then kissed her forehead, smiling as he was very comfortable with the woman he loves currently laying down in her arms this way. And he truly means that, as there's nothing like the two of them just holding each other close this way; and there's nothing else he'd rather be doing right now, especially since they're in bed together. "No regrets in not going to lay down on the couch instead, right?" Gabby shook her head as she cuddled up to her loving husband. "Slip down in bed some more, and you'll understand why I have no regrets when it comes to us laying down here in bed; rather than us having relaxed on the couch." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before watching as she moved away from him; after which, he slipped down in bed for his beautiful wife. Getting comfortable afterwards, Matt smiled as he felt Gabby cuddle up to him not too long after.

Wrapping her arms around his muscular torso, Gabby smiled as she laid her head down on Matt's chest while cuddling up to him; at the same time, she laid her head down on his chest and just cuddled up to him. Meanwhile, Matt wrapped his arm around her and went ahead with kissing the top of her head; that way, he could make her smile some…after all, that was one of the ways that he could guarantee a smile was on Gabby's face. Another way he could do that? By asking whether he can take off her bra for her. "Can I…" Gabby laughed a bit as Matt went ahead and started to ask her the question that they both wanted him to ask, as she was already expecting it the moment she laid down. "Baby, of course you can." Laughing a bit as he heard Gabby tell him that, Matt went ahead and proceeded to throw off her bra for her; after all, that was exactly what she wanted him to do. Cuddling up to him again, Gabby smirked as she pushed her breasts against his chest (as a way to tease the man she loves more than anything in the entire world).

Laughing as Gabby did that, Matt wrapped his arm around her and just stroked her back as he recognized the fact that she's a real tease; something that he most definitely will acknowledge, right now. "I swear, I should've predicted that would happen the minute I took off your bra." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that he was really turned on right now. "I can only assume that's due to the fact that it just turned you on?" Matt agreed with Gabby as she asked him whether it turned him on, as it most definitely it; I mean, how could it have not turned him on? She's a sexy woman, and his gorgeous wife; she's also the love of his life, which is the exact reason that he loves holding her this way. It's exactly what he wants to do, whenever he gets a chance to do it. And it's exactly how Gabby wants to cuddle up to her man, whenever she can; because it's very comfortable for her. "But I also know that it's your way of getting comfortable and trying to grieve with me." Gabby sighed, agreeing with Matt as that's the truth.

"Yeah, that's the truth." Matt nodded as he turned his head, deciding to kiss the top of her head as his way to acknowledge the fact that he already knew it was the truth; simply because he knows his wife better than anybody in the entire world, which was how he was able to see that on her face. He could just tell that she was trying to do whatever she can right now to be comfortable, which is something that Alex can relate to right now; because she's trying to do the same thing, shortly after having just fed the twins.
