Chapter One Hundred and Eighty-Four
Christmas Plans 2019
"Or we can talk about Christmas again." -Alex Halstead
It was clear to Jay the minute Alex said that, that she still had a lot on her mind when it comes to what they want to do for Christmas; including whether or not they want to invite her father to join them, on the twins' first Christmas. And Jay understood why that would be the case, based on the history that Hank and Alex have had in the past couple months; and as you know, that history isn't pretty. Yet, Alex still seems to be open to inviting him down for Christmas; so that the kids can celebrate Christmas with their entire family, including their grandfather. But there are just a lot of considerations, especially when it comes to the logistics of him coming down for Christmas; because there's on thing that Jay already knows, and a firm decision that he's already made for the both of them. In fact, it was a condition of Hank coming down; if they decide to invite him, then there's no way that he's staying here with them. As much as he loves Alex, and the relationship that she has with Hank; their relationship isn't what it once was, and that's a factor in this situation.
He doesn't want Hank to bring the stress that he has in Chicago, down here to Hawaii; the place where he's so relaxed, and truly has found happiness. How he feels here compared to how he felt in Chicago is like night and day, and he can see that it's made a world of a difference in how Alex is as well. And speaking of Alex, she's still trying to get Jay to answer her question; as they laid down in bed, facing each other this morning. "So, is there a reason why you haven't answered my question yet?" Sighing, Jay moved close to Alex so that he could hold her close to him; after which, he decided to wrap his arm around her back and tug her body against his chest his chest this morning. And let's just say that Alex really likes that feeling, because it was great; it was so comfortable, and very sexy (for the both of them). After all, Alex is just wearing a bra (but he wishes she wasn't). "God, I wish you weren't wearing a bra." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that. "I know you do, but that's not what you need to concentrate on right now Mr. Halstead." Jay agreed, smiling.
"Maybe after we talk about it, you can change into a tank top?" Alex laughing, agreeing with Jay. "On the condition that we go back to this question first, the question that is pressing." Propping his head up with his hand, Jay was confused as to why it was a pressing question. "Okay, I'm going to play dumb here for a second; but why exactly is it a pressing question?" Alex sighed as Jay asked her why it was a pressing question. "Because we need to tell my dad, so that he can make the bookings; and so that he doesn't send the gifts in the mail and brings them instead. I'm thinking about my dad, and how it'll work for him." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Right, that makes sense." That's when Alex decided to slip out of bed so that she could get changed for Jay, while they still talk about this. "Hey, where are you going?" Alex sighed. "I'm going to get changed, because you made me realize that I'm not that comfortable in a bra. God, I hate how engorged I am right now." Jay smirked as he heard Alex say that. "I don't."
Turning around to look at her husband, Alex just made her way over to her dresser so that she could grab a tank top. "Careful before I go get changed in the bathroom." Sitting up in bed, Jay leaned back against his pillow while looking at his beautiful wife. "Yeah, we'll see how long that threat stays." Alex was confused as she heard Jay say that, before finding a nice tank top that she can wear; one that she actually likes and is nice and soft. Oh, and that isn't see through. God, she made that mistake once while she was in the hospital; she wore a white tank top, and it got all wet (from the milk). And that meant that she was revealed to both her husband, as well as some of the male doctors that work in the NICU. "Yeah, you're right." Going to take off her bra for Jay (in front of him), Alex smirked as she could see that he loves the sight of her not wearing a bra. "I can only imagine that you love the sight of me not wearing a bra." Jay agreed with Alex as she asked him whether he likes the sight of her not wearing a bra, as he most definitely does like the sight.
"I mean, you're gorgeous baby; why wouldn't I like the sight of my topless wife?" Alex laughed a bit as she heard Jay say that, before going to grab her tank top; after which, she proceeded to put it on this morning. After all, that was what she needed to do right now. She needed to put her tank top on, and she needed to make sure that Jay didn't get any ideas; because under no circumstances are they having sex, when she'd rather relax and take it easy with him in bed. "Okay, don't you dare think that you're getting any action Mr. Halstead; because you aren't, and we're talking." Jay agreed with Alex as he said that, before turning the topic of the conversation back to the one that started the conversation. "So, I want to talk about your dad; and some requirements for me saying yes to your dad coming." Walking over to her hamper with her bra, Alex was a bit confused as she heard her husband say that. "What exactly are you talking about when you say that Jay?" Taking a breath as Alex asked him what he meant, Jay went to grab his water bottle.
And that was due to the fact that he wanted to take a sip of water, and just calm things down in between the both of them; he can already see some of the stress levels going up, and that was the last thing that he wanted to happen. Rather, he wants things to stay calm; and he wants to make sure that they talk about this as husband and wife, and just make this decision together. And let's just say that Alex got that message as she walked over to the twins' cribs. Looking at Olivia this morning, Alex smiled as she saw that her pacifier was out a bit; so, she reached into her crib and moved it back to her mouth. However, that just ended waking her up. "Oh, c'mon baby girl; did you really need to cry right now?" Laughing a bit, Jay just looked at the woman he loves. "Hey, at least you can just slip her head under your shirt and feed her." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before going to look at Olivia; after which, she proceeded to pick her up in her arms. "Can you adjust my pillow? I need to change her first." Jay agreed with Alex, smiling at his girls.
He then turned in bed, reaching over to grab her pillows at the same time so that he can adjust them; meanwhile, Alex changed Olivia.
Sitting down in bed with his girls shortly after Alex finished changing Olivia, Jay smirked as he got close to the both of them while watching Alex get comfortable; moving Olivia's lips to her breast, Alex wanted to make sure that she latched on correctly so that she could feed her without any issues. And that's exactly what happened, and it led to Jay getting close to Alex so that he could look at both of his girls. Tugging the covers up shortly after getting comfortable with Alex, Jay smiled as he turned his head and then kissed her forehead softly; and let's just say that simple action put a big smile on Alex's face and made her want to turn her head and kiss her husband softly, which is something that she did shortly after making sure that Olivia was okay. "I swear, I love it when you kiss me like that." Jay smiled as he heard Alex tell him that she loves it when he kisses her like that, as that's something that he knows full well; especially since he loves to kiss Alex like that as well, it's just the best feeling in the entire world. "I love you too." Alex agreed.
"Now, are we going to talk about it while I feel Olivia? Or would you rather wait until I'm done feeding her, and when you're burping her instead?" Jay shook his head as Alex asked him whether he wanted to wait when it came to the conversation that they were having, as he would rather keep it going; he doesn't want to stop having the conversation, just because Olivia is here with them. It's not like she's going to understand what they're talking about right now. "She's not going to understand what we're talking about anyways, so we can just keep talking about it as you feed her." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, as they were all good points; I mean, it's not like Olivia can ever really understand what they really say. "I just wish they could understand some, because I love how you talk to her." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, before moving to look at his beautiful daughter; after which, he proceeded to stroke her cheek with her finger. Laying her head on Jay's shoulder as he did that, Alex couldn't help but smile and feel so happy.
"God, I love you." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before smiling as he turned his head; he then went ahead and kissed his beautiful wife once again, taking things nice and slow with her. "God, I love you; and I am so glad that we're on the same page when it comes to the fact that we're going to make this decision together, just like we should." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, as that most definitely is the truth. "Tell me about it, but back to that conversation that we were having; related to whether Grandpa Hank is going to finally meet his grandchildren, or if he's going to stay away." Jay sighed as Alex said that. "We agree that we're going to be completely honest with each other, right?" And with those words, Alex already knew what Jay's stance was. "You don't want to invite him to Christmas?" Jay sighed as Alex asked him that question. "Listen, maybe we wait until after we feed both kids. I'll grab a bottle and feed Michael, and then they can go back into their cribs while we talk about this." Alex agreed with Jay, before kissing him.
"I love you Jay, never forget that; okay?" Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before getting up so that he can go get Michael (and a bottle) so that he can feed him; and only after they feed the kids, will they talk about how Jay feels about inviting Hank to Christmas. And unfortunately, Jay is a bit hesitant when it comes to inviting him; after all, he's the one that caused Alex to go into premature labor, and that's not something that he wants to reward. And that's what he feels Christmas with the grandkids would be to Hank, them rewarding his reprehensible behavior, which under any other circumstances, would lead to them shunning him for a while. So, why would this be any different? Especially when it's their children. I mean, Hank did it while knowing that Alex was pregnant with their children, so what's to say that he won't do it with the kids around; the truth is, Jay wants to have as easy a first Christmas with the twins as possible, especially since they had to wait so long to bring them home. Too much stress, all related to Hank.
The twins were now safely back in their cribs, and they were both fed (which meant that they were got for a while); which also meant that Jay and Alex were going to be able to talk to each other about Christmas for a while, which is going to be a topic that they (may) have differing views on…especially when it relates to a certain guest that they're thinking about, Alex's dad (Hank). And that's the entire reason why Jay recommended that they put the kids back in their cribs, prior to them talking about this topic; as he had a feeling that their would be a bit of tension in between them, which was not something that he wanted to have the kids in bed with them for. Rather, he wanted to be holding Alex in his arms as they spoke about it calmly; as that's how they need to talk about things that can cause them tension, because they want to make sure that their marriage is strong. (Not that they really have to worry about that right now, as their marriage is currently the strongest than it's ever been; all because of the experience they just had).
An experience that's as a result of Hank's actions, which is related to the reason that Jay doesn't feel like he should be invited; not when Alex is still going to be recovering, and they're still going to be getting used to their new life with the kids. This Christmas, Jay is already going to be worrying about all of the logistics; with two babies, and a dog…as well as his brother. That's a lot to deal with, and he's also going back to work right after Christmas; and he'd rather not have to deal with the possibility of Hank throwing a wrench into their celebrations, not when he has already affected them in a bad way. Jay just hopes that Alex understands where he's coming from and will listen to what he's thinking about when it comes to them not inviting Hank. Walking over to their bed this morning, Jay smiled as he proceeded to climb back into bed with the woman he loves; that way he can get close to Alex and hold her in his arms, which is how he's going to make sure that she stays calm as they talk about this with each other today. Calmly, and without too many issues.
Moving close to Alex as soon as he was in bed with her, Jay smiled as he closed the covers on top of the both of them and then put his hand on her side; at the same time, he once again slipped his arm under her head as they both got close to one another (including Alex getting close to his chest once again). Moving nice and close to the man she loves, Alex decided to wrap her arms around his torso as she cuddled up to the man she loves; at the same time, Jay moved his hand to her back and stroked it with his thumb. "Comfortable?" Alex agreed with Jay as he asked her whether she was comfortable, because she most definitely was comfortable while she laid down in his arms. "What do you think?" Snickering, Jay agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that; after which, he turned his head and looked down into her eyes. At the same time, he moved his hand to the back of her head and bent down so that he could take things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world.
And let's just say that Alex loves the feeling of Jay kissing her slowly, especially when it's exactly what she wanted him to do right now. She wanted him to take things nice and slow with her, and she just loves the feeling of his lips on hers; and now, that's exactly what she has. She has his lips on hers, as they hold each other close (which Jay's hand on her back as he stroked it with his thumb). And god, was that comfortable and relaxing at the same time. Alex just loves it more than anything in the entire world, especially since it's really relaxing. "So listen, I want to talk about this." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that they both want to talk about Christmas. But Jay wants to talk about it for a reason that she doesn't want to talk about, which is the fact that he's not interested in inviting her father to Christmas. "Alex, I want to be honest with you; and I want you to hear me out." Turning her head, Alex looked up at the man she loves, clearly hearing the worry in his voice. "Jay, I can hear the worry in your voice; is everything okay?"
Sighing, Jay looked down at the woman he loves. "I don't know if I'm comfortable with Hank coming at Christmas."
She should've seen this coming, that Jay wouldn't be okay with her dad coming for Christmas; and if this is what he wants, then she's going to respect his wishes. After all, he probably has his reasons to not want her dad to come; and she wants to let him have the best first Christmas as a father that he could ever want, which is why she feels like she needs to respect his wishes. And it was also why the answer to Jay's statement was going to surprise him, and lead to another conversation. "Okay, I'm confused. You aren't at all going to protest?" Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, before moving her hand to his heart; after which, she leaned in and kissed the man she loves softly. "Jay, I could hear it in your voice; you have a reason not to invite him, and I want this to be an easy Christmas for us. Especially after everything that's happened." Jay sighed as he heard Alex say that, before moving his hand to hers; at the same time, Alex slipped her legs in between his so that they could cuddle up to each other. And boy, were they both very comfortable like this.
Just stroking Alex's hand, Jay stared into her eyes before bending down and proceeding to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Alex, I'm just thinking about you. As much as we would want your dad to be here, we both know that him being here might not be the best thing; especially not when he always brings drama with him, and that's why I don't want him here. At least not this year, because I want this year to go okay. I want this year to be easy, and I don't want him to stir up drama." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I understand Jay, and I think that the decision we made is the right one, because that's how I feel. I don't want drama over Christmas, and I just want an easy one this year." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before leaning in so that he can kiss the woman he loves softly. After all, that's what they both want. They want to take things nice and slow with each other. "God, I love you so much." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, before cuddling up to him.
Wrapping her arms around her back, Alex got nice and comfortable with the man of her dreams; at the same time, Jay wrapped his arms around Alex and then pressed his lips to her forehead softly. "Are you happy that we're home?" Turning her head, Alex smiled and agreed with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "Of course, I am." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before smiling as he bent down and proceeded to kiss her softly (while also wrapping his arm around her back); at the same time, Alex wrapped her arm around Jay's neck and held him close. Taking things nice and slow with the man she loves, Alex smiled due to the fact that this is everything that they both want right now. They want to hold each other close, and they want to share a sweet kiss with each other. "So, is there anything that you want to do right now?" Alex sighed as Jay asked her that. "The truth is, I like the silence." Jay then realized something. "By any chance, are you thinking of doing some work?" Alex bit her lip. "I'm so bored."
Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that she's bored right now, well aware that was the case. "So, what do you want to do?" Moving away from Jay, Alex rolled over and then went to open her side table; grabbing her iPad afterwards, Alex smiled as she looked at Jay. "If you want to watch TV, you can." Jay agreed with Alex as he rolled over as well so that he could grab the TV remote from his side table drawer, as that was where they always kept it; and then, he went ahead and turned it on. Seeing that there was a movie that she liked on, Alex then went to rescind the fact that he can watch TV. "Okay, I change my mind as to what you can do with the TV; you are not changing the channel." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, before turning his head and looking at his wife; after which, he leaned in and proceeded to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Get close to me, and just cuddle up to me as we watch this movie that you like." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before smiling as she felt him wrap his arm around her.
At the same time, Alex opened her iPad so that she could do some work on a something that she's interested in creating for the company; and that would be a course for Special Victims. They can sell it to police departments around the country, and let them create the best type of Special Victims Units to serve survivors of rape in their communities. And luckily for her, she has a great person who's currently in the midst of helping.

Hi Olivia and Amanda:
Alex Halstead here. Hopefully this got to you guys at least. But right now, I am not reaching out on a personal level; rather, I am writing you guys so that I can talk to you guys about something over e-mail. As you know, me and Jay now work for Matt Casey at his company in Hawaii. Part of our jobs is creating a company called "Casey Police", and part of that company is police training; and I was thinking of what we can teach some of the people in these classes, and I thought of what you guys are doing there at the Special Victims Unit. And I know that you guys are the best unit that I have ever meet, and I am so glad that I got to meet you guys as I now have resources.
And that's why I'm e-mailing you guys, to see whether you guys can give me some information as to what we should teach Special Victims Unit detectives; and how we can do that in a classroom setting, and what you guys think of that. I hope that you guys can let me know what you think of that and can maybe help me out when it comes to me creating this. Thanks again ladies.

SUBJECT: Casey Police-SVU Course
Hi Matt:
I just wanted to let you know that I just sent an e-mail to Olivia Benson, the NYPD Captain that you met previously when we worked a joint investigation with them (and CFD gave us a hand). And that's because I was thinking that we could do something through Casey Police, and through the training programs that we're going to do. I know that you're a victim of your father, and I was just thinking that maybe we can be part of solving the problem of child abuse; we can start teaching police officers, or at least offering courses to police departments that can tell them what they need to look for when it comes to abuse; and as a result, we can save some lives.
I already sent the Manhattan SVU team (well, Benson and Rollins) an e-mail asking them for advice on what we should teach people in said courses (if you want to create them), and I will let you know what they write back to me; but for now, I just wanted to let you know what I'm thinking about. Now, don't worry about replying; as I know that you need to grieve. Therefore, I send you me and Jay's love.
Sincerely, Alex.
