'12 hours'
Those words ran through the young heir's mind as he looked at the clock reading midnight. He looked at his two suitcases.
'Just enough for me till i can buy more in Vale' His mind cataloging all of his belongings and gear he was taking. A week's worth of clothes. Only two sets of dress clothing. The rest are just commoner's standards, Jeans, hoodies, t-shirts, and one pair of shorts. He didn't like it but he knew he couldn't bring his full wardrobe of expensive outfits. Two would do. One for in the field. One for professional meetings.
Slowly standing up finally grabbing his utility belt and putting it on around his waist. "Time to do this properly. Elegance and finesse." He spoke to himself as he picked up his two suitcases and walked out his room. The door closing softly as a note could be seen on his nightstand.
The halls were quiet as usual. Echoes of footsteps as he reached the main room. A sigh as he saw Klein waiting for him. A man dressed in fine clothing with orange hair that was balding. A mustache that looked nicer than Whitley's father's own. "Master Whitley." the butler bowed to him. "Your chariot awaits. I do hope you know what you're doing."
A smile formed on his face as he placed his hand over his chest. "Don't worry, by the time they realize I'm gone it'll be too late for them to try and come and get me. If they can even find me that is. I left some breadcrumbs saying something about going to the only safe Haven in the world." A smirk replacing the smile as he walked towards the hidden tunnel. Only stopping as he saw his mother rounding the corner looking at him.
"So… you're leaving?" Willow asked him with no alcohol in her hands for a change. It was odd having her here to see him off. Sure she'd sign the consent papers to have him attend Beacon. Whitley just assumed that was for her to get a jab at his father.
"I am… I'll try to write to you mother." He said with a bow before trying to leave before getting embraced in a hug by her.
"It- It's not fair having all my children being run off by a man that should love his children.." She muttered holding him firmly. "Hold out your hand for me son…" She asked him to do. Something she didn't do often. He held out his hand only to have her place something in it. Her White Cravat with her silver brooch adorned with a red gem that had the Schnee crest in it. "Please… know I love you and that I'm here for you when you need someone…" She muttered to him as the sound of crying could be heard.
A heavy breath escaped him as he wrapped his arms around her. "I know moth- mom… I love you too. I'll write to you to keep you updated on the happenings of my education." He spoke softly before letting her go. He looked at the cravat, before then putting it on around his neck, securing it with the brooch. Then walking towards the tunnel as it closed shut behind him.
Weiss was already on her way there and tomorrow she'd get a nice surprise when she saw him. If she saw him.
Blood was strong in the air as the sounds of heels could be heard clicking against the floor with each step. A sigh came from the girl in white as she stretched her arms. "Sheesh… Can't believe we have to go to school tomorrow. Such an annoyance" She looked down, kicking one of the bodies nearby.
"Think we'll see any cute guys?" The one in red spoke as she crouched down poking another body with her claws. Looking at it before grabbing a wallet and pocketing the Lien.
"That's what you're worried about Miltia? Pft. trust me no man there is gonna be worth our time. All just hero wannabes there that can't save anyone." Melanie scoffed as she kicked the body harder before looking at the shattered moon through the window.
"Well.. I'm just trying to find the best in this situation. At least Neo isn't complaining." Miltia chuckled, gesturing to the mute girl that was sitting on a pile of bloodied bodies. The ice cream haired girl kicking her feet back and forth. "So, what do you think initiation will entail?"
Melanie tapped her chin before her voice came out. "Well if our sources are correct we'll be in a forest full of Grimm." She walked over and sat on a nearby couch. "So something with getting to a location while fighting them off." She shrugged.
"Don't huntresses usually fight on teams? Ugh… that means we're gonna be forced into a team with people. Think they'd make us fight in a team of randos?" Miltia pouted thinking of being forced from her sister.
A ping could be heard from two scrolls as the twins pulled them out. Then, looked at the girl sitting on the pile of bodies. "So four people on a team?" Miltia asked before seeing Neo nod her head with a smile on her face. "And you're saying that the teams will be determined on pairings that form at the start?" Melanie asked with an annoyed tone as Neo nodded her head rapidly before typing on her own scroll again. Another two pings coming. "So… we just need to find each other as soon as possible." A smirk forming on the twins' faces, as they then looked at Neo. "Well guess we'll need to pick out who you'll be forming a partnership with Neo." Miltia said the obvious as Neo just shrugged seeming indifferent.
A yawn could be heard before Neo and Miltia looked at the one in white. "What? It's been a long day and I'm tired. Now we got to go to sleep to be going to school in like… what 10 hours? Let's go." Melanie said with a stretch of her arms as she walked out the apartment door. Her steps got further away as the two left the room following.
Light began to seep through the Bullhead's windows as Whitley yawned slowly awakening from the seat he'd slept in that night. A cargo bullhead was bringing him that had all of Weiss's stuff in it. She really did pack too much.
"Alright brat." The voice of the pilot spoke up. "Grab your shit and jump out. Can't really get caught with a stowaway."
"Not even gonna offer a parachute?" Whitley said with a smirk on his face. The pilot then laughed before looking at him dead in the eyes.
"No"
The door next to Whitley then began to slide partially open for him as wind could be heard blowing rapidly past them. He grabbed his suitcase and sighed. 'Alright. Let's try this out…'
He grabbed one of his grenades off his hip before pulling a pin and throwing it out. "Bon Voyage… perhaps Bombs Voyage?" He said chuckling before jumping out seeing Beacon in the distance as he begun to fall. He'd be fine mostly if he messed it up thanks to aura… doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt though if it backfired. Right on queue the explosion from his grenade came as he landed right onto a stasis glyph that formed from the grenade. "Well that's good… was worried tha-" the glyph then began to blink multiple times before fading beneath him. He began to fall the rest of the one hundred meters down landing onto the ground far from the courtyard as students began to walk through it towards where the intro ceremony was being held. Pain could be felt in his legs as he staggered standing up."That was anything but… elegance and finesse." A sigh escaped his lips "ok so I need to work on the timing of that…" He noted to himself as he stood up and flipped up the hood on his hoodie. The student seemingly didn't care that there was a random guy falling from the sky. Well that's good. Then another explosion could be heard.
"UNBELIEVABLE! This is exactly what I was talking about!" Well he found his sister… screaming at a middle schooler in the middle of the courtyard.
"Just gonna stay away from that…" Whitley said as he turned walking away, blending in with the rest of the students. This was at least gonna go a little smoothly. No one even cared about the guy who fell from the sky or the girl that was blown up by his sister. So at least no one would say anything about him being there. Except for Weiss but she could be avoided probably.
"Melanie, did you like see that?" A voice came through the crowd of people. "He like totally fell from an explosion in the sky."
Well there goes no one noticing…
"Yes Miltia, I seen that. Who is he? Student?" A similar voice came on through. Was the girl talking to herself? He turned his head to see who it was only to be met by a pink and brown pair of eyes staring right at him.
"U- uh… hi…" He muttered softly, then saw two other girls that looked almost the same as each other begin to approach behind the pink and brunette haired girl. He was beginning to get nervous. This wasn't supposed to happen at all. He wasn't exactly stealthy with his entrance sure but he didn't think he'd get someone right in his face.
The girl just smiled and waved at him before quirking an eyebrow looking at him with a curious expression. The other two girls approached them. One was in a red dress with a black bow around her waist. Black fur around her neck and he could see now that her hair was black short like a bob cut with a red feather in it. Black and red could be what described her outfit. The twin of the girl was in a white dress with blue accents, with long black hair, white fur with white and blue feathers sticking out of it. The brunette pink haired girl was dressed in fine clothing as well. Not a dress but a suit-like outfit that had a corset. White, black and pink being the main colors of it. The girl just leaned in closer to him. Close. Too close. He took a step back to try and get some space. The girl just followed each step as if she was inspecting his face.
"Ca- Can I he-" He tried to speak out with a flushed nervous look on his face. Girls should be easy to talk to, right? He had sisters after all. These girls weren't his sisters. They dressed kind of nice like them. Well trying to look proper at least.
"Neo… did you start to take an interest in the sky faller?" The one in white spoke as the girl in front of him just nodded her head.
"Melanie doesn't he look familiar?" The one in red asking. This isn't good, they might recognize him. "Feels like I've seen him on tv or something." the girl was pondering it, tapping her chin.
"I don't know Miltia but we need to get to this stupid entrance ceremony." Melanie spoke, grabbing the girl presumably named Neo's arm to try and drag her off. "Come on Neo. You can bother other boys later."
This didn't help the case as Neo just grabbed his arm. He froze up.
'Touching. They are touching me oh no. oh no no no.'
"Wow she's really attached to him for some reason." Miltia said before she took a step forward leaning to him now trying to get a good look at him as well.
"I- uh… can I have.. My arm back" He stammered out trying to get away pulling his arm as the two girls leaned in close to his face. Melanie just crossed her arms behind Neo and Miltia.
"I don't think you're getting it back anytime soon Sky Boy." Melanie said tapping her foot as Miltia began to reach for his hood to bring it down.
"I- It's Whitley… actua- actually." He stammered out some words poorly again. His face flushed. Then bringing his hand up to stop Miltia from bringing his hood down. "Please don't." His voice came out stern and annoyed, not stammering like before. These girls were ruining his plans of going unnoticed and almost ruined him blending into the crowd.
"Oooh trying to hi-" Miltia tried to finished her sentence only to be cut off.
"Miltia come on just drag him along with Neo to the ceremony." Melanie spoke a bit annoyed as she started walking off to the ceremony.
"You heard her, Sky Boy." Miltia said, grabbing his other arm pulling him along with Neo as they followed the girl in white to the ceremony.
'How did I get into this situation' being the only thing he wondered as they walked through the doors.
Melanie was annoyed. Right now her sister was clinging to some guy who fell from the sky and Neo was ignoring things that needed to be done and just wanting to hang on to some dude. They entered the auditorium and were made to form rows standing as a man on the stage approached the microphone. Headmaster Ozpin.
She kind of blurred the words he said as he spoke. None of it really mattered, stuff about being responsible and better than when they came here. She highly doubted that. She was already one of the best fighters in the Spider.
Her eyes darted to the Schnee boy. She recognized him. Why he was hiding in a hood she didn't know nor cared. Her sister did though which made it annoying. Though she could probably see the benefit of using him perhaps. The boy did have a lot of money and he seemed dumb enough to just be putty in her hands.
The man finished speaking on the stage as a blonde woman spoke into the microphone. "You will gather in the barn tonight. Tomorrow initiation begins. Be ready." The woman spoke with a calm stern voice.
"Alright you two. Stop bothering him." She said looking at her twin and Neo still holding onto the SDC Heir. They probably didn't even realize who he was yet. She grabbed them both by the ear and dragged them off following the other students. She could hear a sigh escape from him as they walked away.
Miltia wasn't sure who the Sky Boy was exactly but he seemed familiar. She didn't care and as they entered the Barn as the woman on stage called it she followed her sister to a corner of the room as they organized their stuff and bed rolls.
"Melanie what did you think of that guy?" she asked as she unrolled her bed roll. "He seems like he has something he's hiding." She pointed out what was clearly obvious to her sister at least. Miltia was the one that just cut through where she was pointed. Not make the plans or gather intel. She was there just for the fun of it. Melanie was the brains usually.
"He is." Her sister said plainly as she grabbed their sleepwear and started walking to the nearby locker rooms where they were supposed to put their weapons and other gear. "It's none of our business though."
"Ya but what about the issues of teams? We'll need a fourth member. He's about the onl-" She was cut off by the locker door slamming as she saw her sister in her white PJs.
"He seems incompetent to me. Couldn't even hold a conversation with us or speak up." Melanie spoke firmly with a hmph escaping her as she walked away.
"Eh he's kind of cute I guess. Couldn't hurt to at least use him as a meat shield or something." Miltia said with a shrug. Not like she cared if some random dude bit the bullet.
They returned to the corner they claimed away from everyone else as Neo just sat in the corner with her clothing changed already without even going to the locker room. Did she even change her clothes? She was in PJs now but that could just be her semblance. She sat against the wall as her sister stood next to the window looking at the moon.
Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the Sky Boy in the opposite corner staying as far away from everyone else as he could. He was prepping his bed roll and making it look all neat and tidy.
'Weird'
She looked back at Neo who was laying on her stomach smiling as she looked at him with her eyes never leaving him.
"Seems like Neo is fine with him. For some reason." Miltia spoke up as her sister then looked at Neo then to the guy in the corner. She looked back at him too. "Is he going to sleep in jeans and a hoodie?"
"Well that just seems odd. Maybe he forgot his sleepwear." Melanie said a bit disinterested.
"Whatever the case… he's weird. Stands with proper posture and has an air of confidence till we approach. Falls from the sky. Preps and tidies his bedroll but then freezes up from us and sleeps in jeans and a hoodie." Melanie continued. "Didn't even put his gear in a locker either. It's like he's trying to avoid being singled out."
"Well that's odd… I suppose it doesn't really matter though. Neo just has to team with him and then we can just avoid him most of the time." Miltia said as she laid down in her bed roll. "We got about ten hours till initiation. Let's sleep."
Neo watched the Schnee boy all the way across the large room. Her eyes tracing over him. A peculiar look. She heard the words spoken by the twin brats but didn't really listen. It was all just noise. She was more interested in a Schnee hiding like a commoner and how she could rob him blind later on.
She glanced over and saw the other Schnee yelling at a girl with red hair and another with blonde hair. Only for a brief moment did she look at them. Before looking back to the Schnee boy that was watching his sister. Clearly he was avoiding her. Although she didn't understand why.
A silent sigh of no noise escaped her lips as she rolled on her back closing her eyes as things went dark in the room and it got quiet. Sleep taking over.
Author's Note:
I was really eager to continue this story and kind of jumped the gun on the girls meeting him and was really not sure how I was gonna have Whitley enter Beacon but not run into his sister immediately. So the best course of action? Jump from the sky into an explosion of dust! Sure it's dumb and silly but that's what RWBY was at the end of the day. Dumb and silly.
You might've realized by now that i kind of switched up writing style in the middle of it towards the end of switching perspectives from the main four. It's mostly to get a grip on how each character thinks and feels. I do hope I'm conveying them well enough to make them seem different.
So now I just have two questions.
1. Do you guys think I should do the perspective switching more? Whitley's will still be the main one but there might be moments where I want to show the girls' perspectives on things.
2. If we are going to pair Whitley up with anyone who should we pair him up with? I'm not against a harem… however I feel like him with one of the girls would be better. So take your vote
Neo
Miltia
Melanie
Harem
I'll have this poll going for idk about 6 chapters or more. I'll update the votes as the story goes on. Just put who in the review if you leave one.
Thanks for reading all of this and the story!
