Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty-Seven
PTSD and Comfort

Casey Home – She had to get up and go grab some more water herself, and that was okay; because she wanted to let Matt get what he needs right now, and that seemed to be some sleep (after he fell asleep in the middle of the movie). And god, that was really adorable; so much so, that she thought about just shutting off the TV and joining him in taking a nap on his chest. But first, she realized that she was quite thirsty…and that her water bottle was empty, which meant that she needed to go refill it. So, that's exactly what she did; she went downstairs, and filled up her water bottle. However, that might have been the biggest mistake she made today.

"No dad, stop! I said stop!"

Those words, the way he was saying those words; Gabby just knew instantly what was going on with her husband right now, and that was that he was having PTSD. And that was the last thing that Gabby wanted him to have right now, PTSD; especially not some that's as horrible as the PTSD that he's currently having, PTSD related to the times when his father molested him. When he was abused by his father, when his mother was abused by his father. It was just the worst sight in the entire world, especially since he was currently flailing; and trying to get free of someone's grip, which is what his father used to do. He used to hold him down as he did it.

"Dad, please! I promise…"

Setting her water bottle down, Gabby just looked at her loving husband horrified; and just feeling so bad for him. This is not what Matt deserves. .He doesn't deserve this. He never deserved to have to deal with this, and right now…it's just horrible; she's just glad that Andy's there, trying to help him. After all, that was his job; his job is to help Matt when he has PTSD, and to jump on him. And that was what he was doing, but Matt was just too into it; that was, until Andy barked at him. And it seemed to work, but it didn't work completely, which meant that Gabby was needed. "Andy, come here boy; let me help." Turning his head, Andy agreed. After all, the dog knew that Gabby could help Matt just as much as he could; and she could do more, simply by kissing him and holding him. And that was exactly what Gabby was going to do, as she climbed into bed so that she could help Matt right now. Help him get out of his horrible situation that he finds himself him. Just crawling over to him, Gabby took a breath as she tried to calm him down.

"Dad, please!"

And that was when Gabby finally got close enough to help Matt, and just put her hand on his chest; that way, she could help Matt…just like she always promised him that she's do. She always promised Matt that she'd help him for the rest of her life, and that's what she's going to do now that she's here with him. But first, Matt just needs to wake up and come to. He needs to come to so that he can be present and concentrate on her. And luckily for her, that's exactly what Matt started to do; but she could also tell that he was dazed and confused at the moment, which was understandable. It always happens in the aftermath of Matt having PTSD, because it takes him a minute to come back to reality; for him to realize that it was just an episode of PTSD, and that he was okay. And now, with Andy and Gabby here; Matt is starting to realize that, and Gabby was glad that was the case as she sat down next to him on their bed. And as she sat there, she looked down at him with pure worry in her eyes; worry that Matt could clearly see as he looked up.

"What happened?" Taking a breath as Matt asked her what happened, Gabby just looked down at the man she loves; after which, she got up so that she could get in bed with him. And that was because she felt like she needed to be in bed with him and holding him as she talks to him about what happened. He needed that from her, because she was his wife; she needed her to comfort him and hold him close…because that's her role as his wife, to comfort and love her. "Matt, just do me a favor and take a breath okay? Maybe take some water and take a breather for a minute. I promise, I'm going to tell you what happened in a minute. But right now, you need to breathe and relax. Please, trust me when I say this." Looking at Gabby as she said that, Matt could tell that she was really worried about him; and that was the last thing that he wanted, especially since she doesn't need to worry while she's pregnant. And that's due to the fact that her worrying is something that can cause stress, which is not good for the pregnancy. "I trust you Gabby."

Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smiling as she looked at the man she loves. "Then you need to listen to me. You need to take a minute to just breathe, to take a sip of water; and let me go to the bathroom before I explain. I'll be right back babe." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, trusting her more than anything. "Of course." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, before getting close to him; after which, she kissed him softly and just smiled. "Everything's going to be okay, I promise Matt." Just looking at Gabby, Matt was about to question it; but he just promised her that wasn't what he was going to do. Rather, he was going to trust her and just listen to her; so, that's exactly what he did. He listened to his wife and trusted her as they got ready to talk to each other about whatever she needs to talk to him about. He's just glad that they're going to talk about whatever they need to talk about, because that's what husbands and wives do. They talk to each other when they need to talk about something.

There was a reason why Gabby had to go to the bathroom, and it was not at all related to the fact that she had to go; rather, it was just so that she could give Matt a minute to relax and just breathe. After all, that's what he needs to do right now. He needs to take a minute to breathe, and just take it easy; meanwhile, she needs to figure out just how she's going to talk about this with Matt. After all, he just had the worse type of PTSD that he can have, PTSD that's related to when his dad abused him; and that type of PTSD, is the type of PTSD that he hates to talk about. But right now, he's going to need to talk to her about it, because it was something on the top of her mind; and if they don't talk about it, then she thinks that she might go crazy. And she's not the only one who seems to be thinking that they're going to go crazy, as Matt is actually feeling the same way; simply because she's taking a lot time in the bathroom, which is why he's in the midst of walking into the bathroom in the first place. That way, he can check on her; and makes sure she's ok.

Leaning against the door frame as he stood there in his boxers, Matt smiled at his beautiful wife as he tried to get a sense as to whether she was okay; and he was hoping to figure that out without having to ask her whether she was okay, but he couldn't read her right now. She was being quite silent, and that didn't help things. So, that meant that he was going to have to talk first. "You're taking a while here in the bathroom." Looking up into the mirror when she finally realized that Matt was there, Gabby took a breath as she didn't see him there. "Sorry, I didn't see you there baby." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, clearly able to see that was the case. "I can see that's the case." Walking into the bathroom behind her, Matt smiled as he got ready to stand behind her; that way, he could hold her in his arms and make her feel better…not that Gabby wanted him to do that, because that's what she should be doing for him right now. But that didn't mean that she wasn't going to accept a bit of attention from the man of her dreams, as he held her.

Bending down as soon as he was holding Gabby (while standing behind her), Matt smirked as he went ahead and kissed her neck softly; after which, he started to suck on it as a say to tease her. And let's just say that was a real turn on. "Oh Matt." Smirking as he heard Gabby say that, Matt decided to turn Gabby around so that he could hold her close to him; after which, he wrapped his arms around her and just held her close. "Baby, what's going on? You seem distant right now, and you seem like you need to talk." Gabby took a breath as she put her hands on Matt's chest. "I was just thinking about how to talk to you about it." Matt was confused as he heard Gabby say that, not understanding why she needed to think about how she needs to talk to him about something; especially not when it's on her mind. "Gabby, you okay?" Taking a breath, Gabby looked up at her dreamy husband. "I should be asking you that, because of what I saw when I came back into our room…" Matt took a breath as he heard Gabby say that. "What was happening?"

Gabby took a breath and just looked at the man she loves, who just moved his hands to her neck so that he could hold her extra close to him; at the same time, Gabby moved her hands to his back and just held him close to her. After which, Matt bent down so that he could kiss Gabby softly; which then led him to picking her up in his arms, and moving close to her. Wrapping her legs around his waist, Matt held Gabby close to him before putting his hands on her sides; at the same time, Gabby put her hand son his chest and stared up into his eyes. "Gabby, what's wrong? Talk to me." Gabby sighed as she looked at Matt. "Matt, I should be asking you that. I mean it when I say that, because when I came up into our room after going to get some water….you were having some PTSD." Taking a breath as he heard Gabby say that, he could just see that she was quite worried for him right now; and he understood everything now. Why she didn't want to talk right away, why she came in here; it was so that he could take a minute to breathe, which he appreciates.

And now that he understands, he just looked at Gabby; after which, he felt her put her hands on his chest and get close to him. "Matt, give me a minute; and then I'll be right out in bed, where I promise we'll talk. Just know that you need to brace yourself, because you obviously don't remember what type of PTSD you just had." Matt was confused as he heard Gabby say that. "It wasn't the typical fire related PTSD?" Gabby bit her lip as Matt asked her that, before feeling him move his hand to her stomach. "Miscarriage in the past." Shaking her head, Gabby looked up into Matt's eyes. "Childhood." And just by hearing that one simple word, Matt knew the exact type of PTSD that he just had; he was having a nightmare about his youth, when his dad abused him and his mom…and molested him. And now, it was all coming together; why Gabby told him that he needed a minute to calm down, why she needed time alone in here. And why Gabby was currently holding him like she is, with her legs around his waist (and her hand on his cheek); she's comforting him.

And she's also ready to tell Matt something that he needs to do, which would be go get back in bed; he needs to get back in bed, where he can just relax and take it easy. Anyways, he won't be alone for long; because she's on her way out, so that she can help him through this. That's something that Matt already knows, and he can't help but feel glad that's the case. But before he left, he felt Gabby tug him close by grabbing the back of his head; after which, he moved to help her off the counter and wrapped his arms around her. And let's just say that they were both glad that he just did that, as it allowed her to wrap her arms around him and cuddle up to him, which he did shortly after, because he was happy to have Gabby in his arms. He's always happy to have Gabby in his arms, especially after he just had PTSD. "Matt, how about you go lay down in bed and breathe for me? I have to go to the washroom, and then I'll be right out. I promise." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before bending down to kiss her softly.

Taking things nice and slow with Gabby, Matt just held her in his arms; at the same time, Gabby put her hand on his face and just took things nice and slow with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "I'll be right out, okay Matt?" Matt agreed. He then proceeded to walk away so that he can go lay down in bed, while Gabby turned around and just looked at herself in the mirror; after all, she does need to figure out just how she's going to talk to her husband about this. This is a lot to deal with, and she knows that Matt always has a hard time dealing with it; but that doesn't mean that she's not here to help him, because she is. She's always going to be here to help him with his PTSD, because that's her job as his wife; and it's also due to the fact that she loves him more than anything in the entire world, and this is part of Matt's past. And that means that Gabby needs to help him through it, because that's what spouses do for each other; they love each other for better or for worse, and they help each other through the bad times.

He already knew that this was going to be a hard topic to talk about when he first learned that this is what he had PTSD about, but he also knew that he needed to talk to Gabby about it; because she's his partner in this, and he needs to talk to her so that she can help him. And since she's going to be here, she's going to make it much easier to talk about it; because that's what she always does, she makes things a lot easier to talk about simply by holding him close in bed. And that was what Matt was waiting for Gabby to do, to hold him in bed (rather than have him hold her in bed for a change); oh, who are we kidding, they're both going to hold each other equally as it's what they need to do. They need to hold each other, and they need to give each other comfort, which is something that Gabby's more than okay with doing. But first, she needs to talk out of the washroom and join him in bed, which is something that he's still waiting for her to do. "You coming babe?" And it was just then that Gabby came out of the washroom. "Calm down, I'm coming."

Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, well aware that was the case. "I can see that's the case. And I have to say that you look quite good right now." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, calm down Matt, you may look comfortable in bed; but that doesn't mean that you're getting sex from me, because you just had PTSD." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I'm not expecting sex whatsoever. I'm just expecting to hold the woman I love in my arms and cuddle up to her as she gives me comfort after I had PTSD, which is what I need right now." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case as she walked out of the bathroom so that she could go join the man she loves in bed. After all, that's exactly what he wants her to do right now; he wants her to join him in bed and hold him close. Not that she would want to do anything else, because her husband is a real hunk; and she likes to hold him close all the time, because he's comfortable.'

But right now, she needs to do it for practical purposes; that are related to his health, his mental health (more specifically, his PTSD). And she's more than okay with doing that because she loves her husband; and she wants to do whatever she can to make sure that he's okay at the end of the day. "I'm going to lay down next to you for a bit, because I want to talk; that okay?" Matt agreed with Gabby as she asked him that, as he was more than okay with that. "I like that idea actually." And since he liked that idea so much, Matt decided to roll over onto his side so that he could already be facing Gabby when she climbs into bed with him; after all, they are going to be facing each other as they talk to each other. "Come here gorgeous." Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her to get close to him, which is exactly what she went ahead and did; she got into bed with him, so that she could talk to him and make sure that she was okay. And boy, was she going to be comfortable as she did it; because she's always comfortable when she's in bed with Matt.

Oh, and kissing him softly; because that's something else that she's going to do with her husband, she's going to kiss him softly as they hold each other close. After all, that's how she's going to help him feel better. She's going to comfort, talk to, and kiss him as they relax in bed together; and that's perfect, because it's exactly what Matt wants. He wants her to kiss him, and talk to him for a while. So now, it's time for them to start doing that; it's time for the two of them to hold each other close, as they cuddle up to each other and talk. And that's exactly what they're going to do, starting right now as Gabby moved close to him; while Matt put his hand on her hip, so that he could hold her close. "So, are you going to fill mem in on what you heard?" Taking a breath, Gabby agreed with Matt as she knew that she needed to do that; she needed to tell him what she heard, so that he knew what was going on when she came in. "You were yelling out, and asking your dad to not do it." Taking a breath, Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that. "Yeah, I know…hard."

Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that, because he also hopes that he didn't scare her. "I just hope that I didn't scare you." Looking at her husband as he said that, Gabby was shocked that he was worried about that; especially when they should be worried about him first, as he was the one that had PTSD. "Hey, you don't need to worry about that Matt. You were the one that had PTSD, please worry about that more. I'm used to seeing it now." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before taking a breath. "And the boys? Are they going to be used to seeing it? The girls?" Taking a breath as she heard Matt say that, Gabby had a feeling that this has been on his mind for a while. "We can talk about that after, but we need to talk about this first." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Baby, I want you to open up to me; just let me know what's going on, and talk to me." Matt agreed with Gabby. "I guess, I just thought about it for some reason. And it hasn't happened for a long time, and it scares me."

Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware of the fact that it hasn't happened for a while; and that's why she's actually a bit more concerned than normal. "That's actually why I'm a bit more concerned than normal, because of how rare it is now; and while that is a good thing, it's just surprising when I see it." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before bringing her close to him again; after which, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her softly. And let's just say that was exactly what the couple wanted right now. They wanted to take things nice and slow with each other, because it was perfect; and Gabby is just glad that Matt's in the midst of doing it right now, kissing her slowly as they open up to each other. "Do you need a minute to take a breather before we talk about it more Matt?" Matt sighed as he heard Gabby ask him whether he needs to take a breather before they talk about it more, because he isn't sure what he needs. All he knows is that he likes to hold her close like this, and hopes that he doesn't need to stop holding her.

"Are you okay with staying like this? Us holding each other close? Because I don't want you to…." Just staring into Matt's eyes, Gabby then leaned in and kissed him softly; not wanting him to think that she wasn't okay with staying in his arms, because there's nowhere else that she'd rather be than in his arms right now. That's just a fact, and that's never going to change. "That isn't something that you need to worry about Matt, because I'm always going to want to be in your arms; just take a breather, and relax honey. I'm here for you, and I'm always going to be here for you. That's a fact, one that you don't need to question." Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that, glad that was the case. After which, he wrapped both of his arms around her and brought her against his chest; and Gabby had to say, this is quite comfortable. Especially when she gets a chance to slip her legs in between his. And right now, that's exactly what she just did. She just slipped her legs in between his, as they both held each other close in bed. "Comfortable?" Matt agreed, smiling.

"Of course, I'm comfortable, I'm holding my girl in my arms as we cuddle up to each other in bed." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, well aware that was the case; and it was also why she just decided to grab the back of her head and take things nice and slow with him, because of how sexy her dreamy husband is. "I love you Matt, and I want you to remember that as we both hold each other close and just make sure that you talk to me." Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that, as that's exactly what he plans on doing for his wife. He plans on talking to her, so that they can make sure that they're always on the same page; but first, he wants to hold her close to his chest and cuddle up to her. And it seems like Gabby knew that, as she just got nice and close to him.

Wrapping her arms around Matt's neck as soon as she was comfortable in his arms, Gabby smiled as she held him close so that she could give the man of her dreams some comfort; because that's what she needs to give him right now, comfort. She knows that Matt will never say it, but she knows that he's going through a hard time right now, and she doesn't want Matt to feel like he's alone in this. Because Matt will never be alone in this, because she's here for him; she'll always be here for him, and she's going to make sur that they deal with this together. And she's just glad that he's holding her right now, because she's very comfortable as she lays down in his arms. "I can only assume that you're glad that I'm currently holding you in my arms?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her whether she was currently comfortable in his arms, because she most certainly was comfortable in his arms; so much so, that she leaned back and looked into his eyes. "Baby, of course I'm comfortable; I'm always comfortable when I'm in your arms."

Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, before leaning in and going to kiss the woman he loves softly; the woman he loves and craves more than anything in the entire world, and whom he would very much like to make love to. But he knows that he can't right now, because he just needs to relax as they hold her close; he's just glad that Gabby decided to get nice and close to him, because it allowed him to move his hand to her stomach as they cuddled up to each other. But not just move his hand to her stomach but stroke it with his thumb; because that was what Gabby wanted him to do right now, stroke her stomach with her thumb…especially since the girls were currently kicking. In fact, Matt just realized that now; so he turned his head and looked at Gabby. "The girls are kicking." Moving her hand to Matt's face, Gabby smirked as she leaned in and then proceeded to kiss him softly. "Why do you think I just moved close to you? I wanted you to feel the girls kicking." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, before bending down to kiss her.

Just taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Matt smirked due to the fact that this really is exactly what he wants to do right now as he recovers from having PTSD. And he just loves the fact that he's recovering with the amazing help of his beautiful wife, the amazing Gabriela Marie Casey; so much so, that he just decided to tell her that he loves her (even though she already knows that). "I love you Gabby." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, smiling as she looked up into his eyes. "I love you too Matt." Bending down, Matt smirked as he took things nice and slow with Gabby..
