Chapter Two Hundred and Forty-Four
That Call Must've Been Hard

He was glad that Andy didn't take long to go to the washroom, because Matt was famished. And that was even more this case due to the fact that his mom was making his favorite breakfast: fried eggs, bacon, and toast, which was one of the main factors that made the decision to go upstairs to the deck (rather than the ground floor) an easy decision to make, as it would allow Matt to take Andy out much faster. But now that Andy has gone to the washroom, he was ready to eat with his wife; well, he was. But now, he most certainly was not ready to eat…as his wife was not on the twenty-sixth floor, which is where the CEO expected her to be. So, it seemed that he either (a) had to try and find his wife, or (b) he could do the easy thing: ask their mothers where she is; and he chose to do the later, as it was much easier. So, he did just that. "Mom?" Turning their heads, the CEO's mother, and sister both smiled as they both heard him speak this morning; with the elder of the two responded by speaking to her son, saying the following: "Yes Matthew?" Matt sighed. "Do you know by any chance where Gabby went?" That's when Matt's sister spoke up. "Maybe before I tell you that, I should give you context." Matt was confused as he heard Christie say that, unsure as to what she meant…that was, until his sister explained.

"So, here's the thing. Apparently, your wife's best friend didn't realize that you are my brother…and she told me to do things regarding ads, and that she wanted me to pass them in front of her; even though you and Gabby both…" Matt already understood the situation, putting his hand up. "Okay, I can get all of this from Gabby; and I am going to need to talk to her about it anyways, because it can help me calm her down. So listen, as much as I want to talk to you…can you first tell me just where Gabby is?" The CEO's mother-in-law, realizing that he was worried, then gave him the answer that he was looking for; which would be where his wife was, as she spoke to her best friend this morning. "Here, I made Gabby some tea. How about you grab it, and bring it to her in the living room downstairs? You can help her calm down, and just get her to relax." Walking over to the kitchen, Matt agreed with Camila as she said that; after all, this is exactly what Gabby needs right now. She needs to drink a bit of tea and just calm down ahead of their meetings today. "Camila, do you mind finding the water bottles that we have here? Maybe fill them up with some water? I want Gabby to have one on her at all times in case she gets too warm today in the office. We haven't worked there all that often, as we like working from home."

Christie agreed with her brother as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I know, things do get heated in here at times." Turning his head, Matt just looked at his sister as it was not the time for jokes. "Christie…" Turning to look at her son, Nancy went ahead and told him that she would speak to his sister. "Matt, I already know what you're thinking about what Christie said; and I promise that I am going to speak to her for you, while you go concentrate on your wife with the tea that I have ready for you." Walking over to his mother in the kitchen, Matt smiled as he wrapped his arm around her and then kissed her cheek. "Thanks mom, I appreciate that." Nancy agreed with her son as he said that, smiling due to the fact that he has become such an amazing man. "Did I ever tell you just how proud of the man that you've become? You are a great father, and an even better husband and son." Matt smiled as he heard his mom say that, before moving to hug her, which Nancy responded by hugging him as well, which made both his sister and mother-in-law's heart swell. "Awe." Turning his head, Matt looked at both Camila and Christie this morning. "I'll be going, as I need to go concentrate on my wife and our daughters for a moment." Nancy agreed with her son as he said that, well aware he was concerned.

"Want me to bring you breakfast in the living room?" Matt shook his head. "No, we'll come join you…but can you maybe go check on the boys, make sure that they're still asleep?" Christie agreed with her brother as he said that, before turning around to look at both her mother, as well as Matt's mother-in-law. "I'll do that for you Matt. You ladies just concentrate on making breakfast." Camila agreed with her son-in-law's sister, nodding as she continued to make breakfast; meanwhile, Matt went to grab the tea that his mother made for Gabby. A tea that he knows will help her relax, while they talk to each other. "Listen, I am going to go take care of Gabby now. I will see you guys in a bit." Camila agreed with Matt as he said that, before watching as he walked away so that he can go take care of Gabby; at the same time, she also turned to look at Christie while she walked away to go check on her grandsons. "Thanks again for helping us out this morning mom and Camila." Looking at her son, Nancy shook her head. "It's no problem, but just go before that tea gets cold." Matt agreed with his mother as she said that, before making his way out of the kitchen and upstairs to the living room.

Walking up to the living room, Matt proceeded to walk over to the door with the hopes of giving Gabby the comfort that she needs right now; but little did Matt know, was that Gabby was still speaking to her best friend. "Stella, didn't the last name Casey give it away?" Oh boy, if only the CEO could hear the other side of that call, Stella's side of the call. But that can come later, when he speaks to Kelly; because there's no way that Kelly isn't already listening to the call, just like he is at the moment. "Girl, how do you think I feel right now? You told my sister-in-law that you want us to review all the ads before she does anything!" Sighing, Matt decided to just let Gabby have her moment with her best friend; the moment that she needs to have with her, and to talk to her. Matt just hopes that Gabby remembers that she's pregnant, and that she takes it easy. "No, Stella. You knew that was Matt's sister, because you met her when we got the boys baptized, when we did PTSD stuff with Matt." Taking a breath, Gabby made sure to relax for the kids.

And that was something that Matt could tell that she was doing, and he was happy that she was doing. "And Stella, you don't speak for me Stella! Stella, we are going to have to talk when we get a chance, because I can't have you do this to me. Christie is my family, and she is your boss. I don't care if she's not your direct boss. If someone with the last name Casey or Dawson talks to you about something, I don't care if you're my COO; or if you're my best friend, because my family comes first. And if you don't respect my family, which I know you do…then we're going to have a problem, because Christie has a degree in advertising. It's why she got the job. So, you aren't going to question her; you are to follow her orders when it comes to advertising, is that clear?" Matt could only hope that Stella agreed with that, as he could really tell that Gabby was getting quite frustrated at the moment. "Listen, we can talk about this later; I Just needed to get it out of the way, and I needed to tell you that you are going to apologize to her today before the meeting."

Nodding, Matt could understand why that was going to be the case; but that was based solely on the information that he was getting from Gabby's side of the call, not that he didn't believe it. And even if Stella came to talk to him, he would always stand by his wife; and he would always be on her side, as that's what a husband does for his wife. "Remember, she's my sister-in-law; and she's also my son's aunt, because she's family." Taking one last breath as she listened to her friend, Gabby got ready to start ending this call. "Good, now I will see you soon. Have a good breakfast." Hearing Stella's salutation, Gabby took a breath as she hung up; after which, she proceeded to set her phone. And that was the moment Matt decided that he was going to tell his wife that he was here, and that he was going to support her through this. "That call must've been hard to make." Turning her head, Gabby was a bit shocked as she heard Matt. "Hey, uhm…how much did you hear?" Matt sighed. "I know everything, because my sister spoke to me when I came in."

Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before looking at the man she loves; the man who was currently walking over to her, so that he can comfort her and make her feel okay. That, and she could see that he was worried about their children; at least, she thought that was what he was worried about. But the truth was, Matt was just worried about his wife; as she's the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, and the woman he plans on comforting right now. And that starts with him sitting down next to her, wrapping his arm around her so that they can both hold each other close; and let's just say that Gabby as glad that Matt was going to do that for her, as she wants to cuddle up to her husband. But first, Matt had to give her something. "Here, your mom gave this to me. She thought that you could use some tea to calm down." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, glad that was the case. "Thanks." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before giving the tea that he brought to her; after which, he smiled at his wife.

Meanwhile, Gabby proceeded to take a sip of the tea that Matt brought for her. "My mom really does know what I need at times." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, well aware that was the case. "I just wish that Stella did." Moving to undo his jacket, Matt decided to take it off so that he could sit down with his wife; after all, that's what she needs right now. She needs him to sit down next to her, and just hold her close to him. He then set his jacket down on the couch, making sure that it was folded properly so that it didn't get wrinkled; not that it really mattered, as what really matters is that Gabby is okay for the sake of their daughters. Proceeding to sit down with his beautiful wife, Matt smiled as he wrapped his arm around her and just made her feel happy; not that it was hard to do that, because Gabby is always happy when Matt wraps his arm around her and holds her close. And that most definitely includes him holding her hand and intertwining their fingers. After all, that's everything that she wants right now. She wants to hold him.

And that was exactly what she was in the midst of doing right now, holding him as she cuddled up to the man of her dreams, her loving husband, Matthew Casey. The sexiest Chairman and CEO in the entire world, who just so happens to also be the best husband and father in the world at the same time. Turning his head, Matt smiled as he kissed Gabby's forehead softly. "Want to just take a minute to breathe before we talk about this?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, as that most definitely is exactly what she wanted to do right now; she wanted to take a moment to breathe, and she just wants to relax as she holds her man close to her. And if that's what she wants, then Matt is more than okay with doing for the woman he loves; because he wants to make her happy, and he wants to make sure that they are just holding each other right now. Because that's what Gabby needs right now, she needs to be held and given comfort. And that's what Matt plans on doing for the rest of their lives, give her the comfort that she needs right now.

Holding Gabby close to him as they both just breathed with each other as they relaxed in the screen, Matt smiled as he turned his head and kissed her forehead softly as they both made sure that they are happy with each other; and that Gabby knows that he's here for her, and that she can always talk to him. At the end of the day, he's her husband first; and if she needs him to stand up for her, he plans on doing just that to anybody. He doesn't care that woman she's currently in a fight with is also his best friend's wife, because Gabby is who really matters to him; her and their children, their daughters that she's still pregnant with. Just smiling at his beautiful wife, Matt kissed her forehead again before whispering to her. "How are you feeling right now? Are you okay with talking now?" Gabby sighed as she looked up at the man she loves more than anything in the entire world, before grabbing his hand and looking into his eyes. "So, what did Stella do?" Gabby sighed as she looked at Matt, before going to take a sip of her tea to calm herself down.

"Matt, I don't need you to get involved. You're in the middle, because this is already hard enough; I don't need to make things…" Shaking his head, Matt let go of her hand; after which, he moved his finger under her chin, and pushed her chin up so that he can stare into her eyes. That way, he can make sure that she's okay. "Hey, hey…look at me." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, looking up into his eyes. "Gabby, you're my wife. And you come first, regardless of my position. Baby, we're in this together, right?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "Of course, we're in this together, how can you.." Bending down, Meet bent down and kissed her softly. "Hey, take a breath and relax. I am not accusing you of anything, and I am making sure that you're okay; you need to take it easy, and you need to relax for the sake of our baby girls. And right now, you need to breathe and just remember that we're okay." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, and just took a breath as she relaxed for the sake of their daughters: Bella and Sofia.

"Now, what did Stella do?" Gabby sighed. "She told your sister that she has to approve all the ads before she does sends them out." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case; after which, he kissed her forehead as they both held each other close. "Gabby, I'm sorry that you find yourself in this position right now." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I know, I just…it's a lot to deal with." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Gabby, do you think that you're okay right now? Do you feel like you can still go to the meetings?" Turning her head, Gabby looked up at the man she loves; she then agreed with him and put her hand on his face, before kissing him softly. "Listen, I know you said you have a meeting at 11 with Stella. Do you still want to have it? Because I can reschedule things. Maybe I can change things around…" Gabby shook her head. "I just think that I am going to take it easy today, and I am going to relax." Matt agreed with Gabby.

"I want to be at the meeting you have with Stella, okay? Don't keep me out of that because I am going to be worried." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case; and that's why she's more than okay with that, because she wants to make sure that her husband doesn't worry. "Okay, I promise that you're going to be there." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, glad that was the case. After which, he proceeded to lean in; smiling, Matt was really happy to have this time with Gabby. "Tomorrow, work from home day?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before smiling. "I like that idea. But maybe we go to the big house." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that. "Wednesday night we go there. Or maybe Thursday, make Friday a work from home day." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, liking that idea. "I like that idea, because that way we can be at home when we leave for the hotel." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that. "I love that we're going to get some time alone next weekend." Gabby agreed.

After which, she leaned in and proceeded to kiss the man of her dreams softly. "Okay, we can't get too hot and heated, because we need to get to work." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "We can do that later." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before getting up and looking at his beautiful wife; extending his hand in the process, Matt hoped to help her up. "Want to get out of here and go have breakfast?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her whether she was ready to have breakfast, as she most definitely was. "I think that's exactly what I need after that, because I am starting to get hungry." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, watching as she got up; after which, he watched Gabby get close to him and grab his hands. Meanwhile, Matt wrapped his arms around her and just smiled as Gabby put her hands on his arms; after all, that was exactly what he wanted. He wanted to have her hold him close, as they relaxed and just took it easy with each other today.

"I want you to work in my office area today, so that I can be with you. I'm going to be worried today." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before getting close to her; after which, she wrapped her arms around his neck (while Matt wrapped his arms around her waist). And let's just say that made the both of them very comfortable, because it was the best way for the both of them to show each other that they love each other. Running his hands up and down his wife's back, Matt smiled due to the fact that this is exactly what they both want. They want to hold each other close, and they want to make sure that they are okay with each other; and right now, that's exactly what Gabby is. She's okay, and she's ready to tell everybody that as soon as they're downstairs; including her brother, whom she didn't know was going to be joining them for breakfast.

Making their way back downstairs after finishing in the living room, Matt smiled as he held Gabby's hand close to him; at the same time, they both breathed while getting ready to spend some time with their family. And while they were hoping to spend some time with their sons, it was not meant to be. Turning her head as soon as she heard her brother and sister-in-law come back into the kitchen, Christie Casey smiled. "Well, I hope everything is okay?" Gabby agreed with Christie as she said that. "Yeah, things are okay now. And how are the boys? They still asleep? Matt told me that you went to check on them." Christie agreed with her sister-in-law as she said that, before making her way over to her. After which, she proceeded to make her way over to her so that she can hug her; which is exactly what she did, prompting Matt to let Gabby's hand go. "Gabby, I'm going to go check on our breakfast." But that wasn't something that he had to do, as Camila was already ready to give them food. "Oh, things are ready Matt; we were just waiting for you."

Matt agreed with his mother-in-law as she said that, before watching as she carried their plates to the table which they were going to eat at; meanwhile, Christie looked at her sister-in-law. "You sure that you're okay Gabby?" Gabby agreed with Christie as she said that. "I just hope that you're okay, I hate that Stella even did that." Christie agreed. "I know you are Gabby, and I promise that everything's okay; it's all okay, and we're done with that." Gabby agreed with Christie as she said that, before moving to hug her once again. "Listen, we need to eat so that we can head downstairs." Christie agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case. "And we are going to have breakfast right now, we're going to have breakfast and you're going to take it easy." Gabby agreed with Christie as she said that, before walking away so that she can go sit down; at the same time, Christie watched her walk away. And while she thought about following her, she first decided to make her way over to her brother to talk to him right now.

And that was due to the fact that she wanted to make sure that they're okay, that they are in a good place; and that she still has her job, as she most definitely doesn't want to keep her job if she's causing problems between her brother and sister-in-law. Right now, she wants them to be together, and she wants to make sure that they are both okay; and that starts with her joining him in the kitchen, where Matt is getting their plates. But before he could pick them up, Christie walked up behind him and rubbed his back. "Hey." Turning around to look at his sister as she said that, Matt smiled. "Hey." Taking a breath, Christie looked at her brother. "Listen, I'm not going to say anything. But I want to make sure that everything is okay." Matt agreed with Christie as she said that because they're okay. "Things are okay, and I promise that you have nothing to worry about sis." Christie agreed with Matt as he said that, before smiling as she went to grab his hand. "I just hate that I created drama this morning." Matt laughed as he heard that.

"Oh Christie, there's always drama in this house; especially when our family is around. I mean, my in-laws are pretty dramatic at times." Turning her head, Gabby looked at her husband. "I may need comfort tonight Matthew, do you want me to use a bath, or my husband?" And just then, that was when Gabby's brother came upstairs. "Did you seriously have to say that…the moment I came in?" Turning her head, Gabby smiled as she saw her brother there, because she was more than happy to have him here. "Hey." Getting up from the table, Gabby proceeded to make her way over to her brother so that she can hug him and Eva. "I didn't know you were joining us." Antonio smiled as he heard Gabby say that, hugging his sister. "I have a bit of time before my first meeting, and I thought I'd come help mom." Gabby was confused. "You could've just waited until your meeting to come to the office." That's when Antonio turned to look at Eva. "No, because I had to drive Eva to work now that she's changed her school program."

Looking at Eva as he heard that she changed her school program, which he's paying for…without telling him first, well he was mad.
"Eva, what's your father talking about!" Eva sighed as she looked at her uncle, well aware that he was mad; she then walked over to him and looked at him. "Okay, I know what you're saying. You're mad. But let me explain." Looking at his niece, Matt was not impressed. "Okay first, I want to correct what my father said and not give you a heart attack." Eva specifically said that, as she turned to look at her father and gave him a glare which was well deserved; after all, she did just make her boss a bit mad. "What my father said wasn't true because that is not the case. I am still a student at the Law School, and you have no reason to worry about that. However, I changed from in-person school to online school. That's the only difference, and it's the same cost. But at the same time, it allows me to work more at your office with the law firm; and it also allows me to work at my own pace and do all of my things on time on the weekend."

Taking a breath as he heard Eva say that, Matt proceeded to walk over to his niece and then proceeded to hug her as he got worried. "Okay, I'm sorry for yelling at you." Eva agreed with her uncle as he said that, before looking up at her uncle. "I promise, I am not quitting the University, I promise tio Matt. I just did what I thought would be better, as I wanted to do what I thought was better for the company. It gives you another employee, who can work in the law firm. Plus, I think I might concentrate on corporate law and stay here after I graduate; so, I might as well just work here while doing school. I promise, I already worked it out with Mr. Serhant; and he said that I can do my work, while also working for him. And he's going to help me out." Matt agreed with Eva as she said that, before smiling at her; after which, he looked at Antonio. "Don't do that to me again, or else I don't offer to pay for Diego's schooling." Turning around, Gabby looked at her husband. "Really?" Matt smiled. "Gabby, I might as well. It'd be fair." Antonio laughed.

After which, he turned to look at his mom. "By the way, mom…" Camila laughed as she heard her son say that, before walking over to him. "Finally, you came to say hi." Antonio agreed, walking up to his mother before going to hug her; after which, he kissed her cheek softly. "Sorry I haven't been over more often." Camila agreed. "Now, what did you have to say to me?" Antonio smiled. "Well, Diego is going to be joining us in Hawaii at Christmas after Laura got a job here." Camila smiled as she heard Antonio say that, loving the sound of that. "Well, I am ready for that; and that's something that we need to concentrate. But now, we need to eat ahead of the meetings you have today. So, let's eat before the food gets cold." Everybody agreed with Camila as she said that, before making their way over to the table so that they can all enjoy a nice breakfast as a family.
