"WHAT!" Adachi yelled in exasperation, frustration, disappointment, and immeasurable anger. "How is that fair?!
"It's not," the girl who had worked with him to defeat the bears spoke. "You don't happen to have a phone to call the police by any chance, do you?"
"Nope, you?" Adachi answered.
"Not at all," the girl said, "let's make a break for it."
"Deal," he said, not wanting to stick around with the wolves, he put his hand to the ground and made the most powerful earthquake he possibly could, which seemed to throw the wolves off balance.
He started to run towards where he knew civilization was and the girl followed him, only for her to pass him in just a few seconds. They kept on running for easily half an hour before they reached a road out of breath and stopped.
"I think we might have lost them," Adachi said, "by the way, what's your name? Mine's Adachi."
"I'm Yūki, nice to meet you Adachi," the girl said, holding her hand out and Adachi shook it.
"That's a neat quirk, what is it?" He asked, wondering how she was able to move so fast.
"It's called Enhanced Being. It allows me to surpass normal humans, it also allows me to sense danger in a decently sized radius around me. However it relies on the air quality, so it's almost useless in the city." She answered him, "yours was pretty cool too, some natural disaster type quirk I'm assuming."
"Yeah, well close enough," he said while noting down Enhanced Being in his mind. "It's called Weather or Not. It allows me to create mini natural disasters during the day and storms during the night, but it has a massive problem, that being when I sleep my dreams control my quirk, and I have nightmares every day."
"Yikes." Yūki said, "what are you doing in the wilderness? I don't usually see people around here."
"It's complicated, but basically I'm an orphan," Adachi said.
"Ah, I see." Yūki said, "I am also one, also complicated. But that doesn't answer my question, why don't you- oh I see. Because of your quirk you're scared that you might hurt someone while you're sleeping. I'm sorry."
"It's fine," Adachi lied, if only she knew the truth. "Why are you in the forest?"
"Because my goal is to save people wherever I can!" Yūki said, sounding VERY enthusiastic.
"So why didn't you go to a hero school? Or are you going to one?" He asked.
"Ah, well I just find it pointless. Why waste time learning stuff that you already know if you can just start rescuing people immediately." Yūki answered.
"Isn't that technically illegal?" Adachi asked.
"Well, yes but who cares about the finer details?" Yūki replied.
"The law does," he responded.
"You raise a fair point." Yūki said, "but the law just hinders my abilities."
"I see," Adachi said, "so you're a vigilante."
"Yea- oh no, the wolves have found us," Yūki said suddenly pulling him into a bush on the side of the road
What? They've found us already? Adachi thought, what are these things? Wait. They're made of electrical wires, if we can get near a water source I can make a mini tsunami and get rid of them for good! Of course!
"Yūki, I have an idea. If we get to a water source then I'll be able to create a mini tsunami, dowsing them in water and ultimately getting rid of them." He whispered.
"Alright, you know the river a little bit south of here? Go there and get ready, I'm gonna distract them and lead them to you." She whispered back.
"Deal, let's do this." Adachi said, and started running towards the direction of the water. By the time he reached the relatively small river he was out of breath, but mustered up some energy to jump to the other side. As he landed he immediately started to control his breathing, he would need to be focused to summon this tsunami.
Not so long after he had finished his breathing practice he was Yūki approaching at an insane speed with the two wolves behind her.
"Do it!" Yūki yelled and jumped over to the other side.
Here we go, Adachi thought as he imagined a wave coming out of the water and enveloping the wolves. Sure enough a wave crashed over the two wired animals and they fell to the ground, gone for good.
"Nice!" Yūki gave him a thumbs up.
"Thanks, if you don't mind I'm just gonna take a nap a few dozen feet away so no natural disasters hit you," Adachi said, completely exhausted.
"Okay, I'll be here." Yūki said, "I think I saw something on the wolves' wires that I need to check out anyway."
Adachi nodded, too tired to respond and headed over to a tree where he fell asleep almost immediately. His dreams were pretty peaceful all things considered and he woke up to see that the sun had barely moved so he guessed it was around 1:00 PM in the afternoon.
"How long was I asleep?" He asked no one in particular.
"Only about an hour," Yūki said, "well it was great meeting you but I have some stuff to do."
"Wait what? Where are you going?" Adachi asked, a little scared of losing a friend(maybe?) since he didn't know the next time he'd see an actual person.
"Well, basically I'm trying to take down this organization and this wolves a clue to where the organization is." Yūki said, holding up a badge that had the letters E.Q.S. on it. "This is a badge of someone who's a part of the 'Experimental Quirk Supremacy' a group that kidnaps people with extremely powerful quirks and experiments on them. I assume that these wolves were sent by someone in the group and that might help me take down the organization in the long-run "
"Let me help you then!" Adachi blurted out.
"Why would you want to help me take down an organization that might capture and experiment on you?" Yūki asked, looking a little confused.
"Uh, no reason, okay fine." He started to answer, "basically when I was a kid I had an especially bad nightmare. So bad that my quirk went INSANELY haywire, so much so that my house was destroyed and after that I was disowned by my parents and all my 'friends' abandoned me."
"Yikes, well if you really want to then come along. I'll need all the help I can get and if you train then your powers could be devastating for any villains we come across." Yūki replied, "Besides, traveling alone is boring and dangerous, and we've already proven that we're a good team, so let's do this."
"YEAH!" Adachi yelled, "I HAVE A FRIEND!"

Yūki and Adachi were heading towards a town to get supplies when Yūki suddenly had a great idea.
"Hey Adachi! Why don't we spar? To see how well we do against each other in case we come across someone with a mind control quirk." She asked Adachi.
"Sure, I don't see why we shouldn't, it would be good to see what the other's capabilities are in a 1 on 1 fight." Adachi replied.
"Great! I don't want you to lose too quickly so let's head to the beach that's next to the town we're going to. Hopefully there won't be too many people there." She said, thank goodness I picked this town because there's almost no one living in it.
When they arrived at the town they saw only a few people walking about . Knew it, Yūki thought, now we won't have to worry about the law, any people bothering us, or my quirk being weakened.
"Not a lot of people in this town," Adachi stated.
"Yup, there aren't that many people and this was the closest town. Literally perfect." She said, then took out some money from her pocket, "here, go buy us some supplies."
"Why don't you do it?" Adachi asked her.
"Heh, well I don't like people that much and also if the air quality is not good then my quirk gets weakened and I would really like to have that not happen especially since the effects of the air quality linger." Yūki replied, "anyway have fun shopping! I'm gonna head for the beach now."
Yūki was at the beach doing push-ups, sit-ups, and other exercises when she saw Adachi running towards her with two backpacks presumably full of supplies.
"I've got the goods!" Adachi yelled.
"Great , so you've got rations?" Yūki asked.
"Yes."
"Water?"
"Yes."
"Two tents?"
"Yes."
"Sleeping bags?"
"Yes."
"Extra clothes?"
"No."
"A map- wait what?" Yūki asked, "You forgot to get clothes?"
"Yeah… Sorry." Adachi said, rubbing the back of his head.
"I'll just get them," Yūki said, "Where's the leftover money?"
"Here you go," Adachi said, handing her the cash. "There's not too much left but should be enough for you to buy clothes for the both of us. Meet up here in an hour?"
One hour later.
Yūki had just finished buying clothes and realized that she was cutting it close, so she decided to run back to the beach so she wouldn't be late and saw Adachi lying down with his face in the sand.
"Uhh, what are you doing?" Yūki asked.
"I am becoming one with the ocean to increase my powers with tsunami- BLEGH." Adachi spat out a mouthful of sand at the end of what he said.
"Shouldn't you actually be in the ocean to become one with it?" She asked.
"Damn, I should've thought of that. Anyway, wanna spar?" Adachi said, straightening up and breathing in and out to prepare.
"You're on!" Yūki said enthusiastically.

Adachi walked around 50 feet away from Yūki so they could have some room to work with.
"You ready?" He heard Yūki call from where she was standing across from him.
"Never been more ready!" He shouted back.

Immediately Adachi saw Yūki running towards him at that same incredible speed she had used against the weird wire creature or creatures. He really didn't know anymore, in response he put his hand on the ground and an earthquake started knocking Yūki off her feet and shifting sand a little bit. This time he didn't need to worry about knocking Yūki off her feet cause that was the entire goal. That's when he had an idea, I think I'll play the long game instead of trying to win immediately.
While the plan slowly but surely fell into place in his mind he saw that Yūki had gotten back on her feet and had started running towards him again, she was now around 25 feet away from him. He touched his hand to the ground to make an earthquake and then lifted it up guessing that Yūki would already have a strategy to use against his earthquakes. He was right.
"Ha! I won't fall for the same trick again!" Yūki exclaimed, and Adachi saw her jump towards him to avoid the earthquake and to get on the offensive.
Perfect, he thought and a mini tornado he had been building flung Yūki away right before she would've punched him.
"What?!" He heard Yūki yell in disbelief.
"Perfect, and I'm still ready to use my ultimate plan," Adachi said, "okay wow that sounded cheesy."
He stopped the tornado and stood, watching Yūki get back on her feet again, now pushed back around 40 feet away from him. He saw Yūki finish getting back on her feet and she just stood there, confusing Adachi a little. Huh? That's supposed to be my strategy, why would she just be doing nothing? Her quirk is made for offense, or is it? His mind began racing with all the possibilities of what she could be doing or planning to do.
Yūki answered that question soon enough by straight up running at him, he prepared to touch his hand to the ground but saw her move to jump and quickly switched to making a tornado. Wait what?! He thought as he saw Yūki fake him out by continuing to run at him. He stopped the tornado and decided to have a little fun, he then stomped on the ground and his strongest ever earthquake shot out from where his foot was. Catching Yūki's attempt to charge at him and making her fall over for a third time.
Before he could think of what to do next he saw Yūki jump up from the ground almost immediately and begin to run at him again. Shit, she'll reach me before I can do anything about it, he thought, and sure enough she punched him in the gut and he got sent 20 feet backwards. He could feel that she wasn't punching him at full strength but it still hurt.
"Ouch," Adachi said, "it seems we're pretty good against each other as well."
"It does seem like that is the case," Yūki said, "but now is not the time for conversation."
She immediately started to charge at him again, this time he knew how to respond. He got up and sent out an earthquake then immediately made a tornado, after the tornado was fully formed he began repeating that in an onslaught of attacks. This would drain him almost completely but he wanted to go all out to show Yūki what he was made of. Plus, he still had his master plan if all this didn't work.
He saw Yūki go with the same strategy as before, jumping then faking him out, but she couldn't get close because of the constant tornadoes and earthquakes. This allowed Adachi to look at the ocean to see how his ultimate master plan was coming along, almost ready. However he didn't expect Yūki to be able to adapt to his plan so quickly and she had finally found a way to get close to him where she punched him once again in the gut, this time a little stronger, pushing him back 30 feet instead of 20.
She charged at him again, but Adachi didn't move, his plan was about to come into complete effect.
"Ha!" Yūki said, "do you give up?"
"Oh no, why would I do that?" Adachi said, "Tell me Yūki, did you notice anything strange about the beach as of recently?"
"Huh?" Yūki said, seeming confused and began to look around until her eyes spotted the ocean, well the lack of ocean. "No. Way."
"You see, I knew I couldn't beat you with just my earthquakes and tornadoes so in the background while I was attacking you I was also focusing on something else. Something that would, 'change the tide' of this battle if I say so myself." Adachi said, "and this little something would be the perfect way to win this battle. A battle I knew I couldn't win unless I played a sneaky strategy and planned the entire battle from the beginning."
He looked towards the ocean and sure enough, in the distance a wave was approaching, a wave larger than anything he had ever tried to summon before.
"Well, I give up." Yūki said, "there's no way I can beat that."
"Great," Adachi said, grateful he could let his concentration on the tsunami go down. "I thought you were gonna make me have the tsunami actually hit us."
As he finished talking, the rest of the water from the tsunami that crashed down a little off-shore reached them but it wasn't too much, just a little inconvenient.
"That's actually insane," Yūki said, reaching a hand out to help him up. "I'm glad that you're on my side."
"Yeah, although I feel like I'm about to pass out so I'm just gonna have a power nap over there," he said, exhaustion starting to kick in from going all out and he pointed towards a bit of shade from a tree on the beach.
He rubbed his eyes and looked at the spot where he was planning on taking a power nap, but to his surprise he saw someone there, a person probably in their twenties had been watching them and as Adachi spotted the man he saw the strange figure disappear into what seemed to be dust.
That's strange, I wonder if I'm hallucinating, Adachi thought and walked over to the spot then immediately passed out.
