Admiral Janeway had not spent any significant time on the Protostar.
As Chakotay's former captain and a Starfleet darling, she'd been there for the christening and commissioning, of course, but that was about it.
So when Holo-Janeway discovered a particular holodeck program, her brown knit in confusion.
How was this here?
Why was it here?
Never one to turn down a mystery, she opened the holodeck use logs, thinking that was the first step in figuring this out.
As soon as she did, she closed her eyes. She let out a holographic breath, then slowly smiled.
Of course.
This was no mystery after all, though it was both endearing and heartbreaking.
Chakotay.
Chakotay had done this.
He'd uploaded the files, and he'd visited Lake George.
Many times, from the looks of it.
Janeway could only hope he'd found her old stomping grounds comforting on his journey.
And come to think of it, she knew another captain who could use some comfort.
She'd introduce Dal to the lake later.
But for now, she sat.
If only for a moment, she'd enjoy this.
Hologram or no, she could appreciate beauty.
And for just a moment, she'd remember what she wasn't supposed to.
