Chapter Two Hundred and Sixty-Two
Family Time: Conversations
They decided to just take a minute to breathe in silence, as they cuddled up to each other in bed with nothing but the sheets on top of the both of them. And when Jay thinks about just how perfect this is, he can't help but smile due to the fact that this is exactly what the husband wants to do right now. He wants to hold the woman he loves close to him, as they both just relax with each other. And the truth was, this is what Alex wants to do right now as well. She wants to breathe, and she wants to relax with her dreamy husband. Because that's what Jay is, the man of her dreams and the love of her life. The man she's crazy for: her loving husband, and the father of her children. And when she says that Jay loves her, she means it; because Jay will literally do anything for her, up to and including burning bridges with her father (not that he was the one that burned the bridges). Rather, her father was the one that burned the bridges; because he overstepped his boundaries, and he did it all the time. Heck, she wonders if she even wants him here right now.
And that's where her head was right now, whether her father should even be here right now; because right now, it seems like her father hasn't learned his lesson. He's overstepping again, and he's just messing in her marriage, which goes against everything that she wanted in her life. She didn't want her father to be in between them, and that's exactly what he is right now; he's something that they need to talk about, and what they're going to do about him…ahead of their children's first Christmas. And that's something else that's on her mind, whether she even wants him to be there for Christmas. Because if he stays, she's just going to think about him and how he's always hurt her. And this event is something that's bringing back some memories of what he did to her and was making her shake as she cuddled up to Jay. "Hey, it's okay Alex. Take breath and just relax baby." Moving his hand to Alex's back, Jay ran his hand up and down her back. At the same time, Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before taking a breath as she turned her head once more.
She then bent down and kissed his chest softly. "Thanks." Taking a breath, Jay looked at Alex and just couldn't help but think about what's been on his mind for a while, which is something that he already mentioned to Hank, but has yet to talk about with Alex. And that would be the signs of PTSD that he's starting to see coming out of his wife. "Baby, taking a breath and just relax for me." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that. "Alex, I want to talk right now. But only if you're okay, and you've been worrying me of late." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah, I can see that you're getting worried about me." Jay agreed with his wife as she said that. "Alex, of course I'm worried about you…" Turning his head, Jay left another soft kiss on Alex's forehead. "And I will always worry about you, simply because you're my wife." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before just holding her husband close. At the same time, Jay ran his fingers through her head and then whispered to her. "Do you want to start with it, and go slow?"
Alex agreed with Jay as he asked her whether she wanted to go slow right now, because that's exactly what she wants. She doesn't want to rush these conversations, and she wants to take things slow as they talk to each other. "I think I'd like that." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before running his fingers up and down her spine; because that's what she needs right now…for him to touch her a bit, but not too much. At the same time, he also needs to make sure that Alex takes it easy. "Before we start though, I want to just remind you that I love you." Looking up at Jay, Alex agreed with the man she loves. "I love you too Jay." Jay smiled as he looked at the woman he loves, before rubbing her back as they cuddled up to each other; at the same time, he bent down and proceeded to kiss her softly. "Alex, I need to be honest with you. And the truth is, I didn't want Hank to come to Christmas this year." Alex sighed as she heard Jay say that, before nodding as she cuddled up to him and ran her hand down his chest. "Alex, I'm not proud to admit that."
Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before feeling him wrap his arm around her back; after which, he turned his head and kissed her forehead softly. "I didn't want him to come for this exact reason, because I still don't trust him. Alex, it's only been two and a half months since everything went down. The twins are only two and a half months old." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that their children aren't even three months old yet. "But they are quite adorable." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, as that was the truth. "Olivia is really looking like you more and more now." Alex agreed with Jay as she said that, while moving her head to get comfortable; at the same time, Jay wrapped his arm around her head and then ran his fingers through her hair. "And that's why I was okay with him coming, because I looked at Olivia and I Just knew…I knew that she had every right in the world to know her grandpa, I knew that Mikey had every right in the world to know his grandpa; their only grandparent that they have left in the world."
Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case. "And that was why I was okay with this, for the simple fact that I wanted to make you and the twins happy; I wanted to have a big family Christmas, because that's what my children deserve. Regardless of how mad I am at your father, he's Mikey and Olivia's grandfather. And they have the right to know their grandpa." Alex nodded, because she knew that was the case. "But what I'm not okay with, is him not listening to us; Alex, we both know what we told your dad before he came for Christmas. We told him that he had to be on his best behavior, and he had to play by our rules." Alex laughed. "And he couldn't come into our room." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as that was the exact reason why they were having this conversation in the first place. They were having this conversation, because Hank walked into their room. "And Alex, I can't just forget what he did and put it past us; not when I am going to have to see him every day, if he stays here with us."
Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case; and that's why she's on Jay's side at the moment, especially when it comes them being alone right now. Jay and Alex need their space, and that's the entire reason why they moved here in the first place; because they need to be in place where they can be together, and just have their space…and so that they aren't always stuck inside, because that doesn't help Jay's mental health; which is something that she wants to talk to Jay about. "I know that Jay, and I also know that there's another reason why you don't want him here right now." Jay looked down at Alex as she said that. "It's due to the fact that it brings you back to Chicago." Taking a breath as Alex said that, Jay nodded as that was exactly what it made him think about. "Yeah, I guess I still have to talk to…" Alex shook her head. "I already spoke to him about that Jay, you have no need to worry about it." Turning his head, Jay looked down at the woman he loves. "Really?" Alex agreed with Jay when he asked her if they talked about it.
She talked to her father about the difference that she's seen since they came here, the difference that she's seen in her husband; especially when it came to his PTSD. "I told him about how much less PTSD you're having here in Hawaii." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case; and that was one of the reasons he really likes that they're living in Hawaii, as it's really helping him. "He was surprised at the statistics that I told him." Jay looked down at Alex as she said that. "Which one?" Alex smiled as she looked up at Jay as he asked her that. "I told him that you're having 50-60% less PTSD." Jay smiled and agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, as that most definitely is the truth; and she's one of the big reasons that's the case, because of what big help she is. "I hope you know that you are a big part of that Alex…the fact that you help me with my PTSD is one of the things I credit to having much less PTSD." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before cuddling up to him and stroking his chest with her thumb.
"I know. But it's not something that you need to thank me for, because it's my job to make sure that you have less PTSD." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that, before turning his head and kissing her forehead softly; at the same time, he turned his head when he felt Max jump up on the bed. "Well, maybe not entirely my job." Jay snickered as he heard Alex say that, before running his hand up and down her back; at the same time, Jay proceeded to put his hand on the top of Max's head. "Hey buddy, you miss me?" Moving close to Jay, Max laid down in bed with him and Alex this morning; at the same time, Jay smiled as he scratched the top of her head due to the fact that this is something that Jay wants to do. He wants to hold his beautiful wife, and his service dog close to him. And let's just say that both he and Alex are glad that this is what they're doing right now, and it's what they both want to do for the entire day. Turning his head, Jay smirked as he kissed her forehead softly. "I think we both know what we're doing today now." Alex laughed.
"I really like that idea, just laying down here like this for the entire day; with my on this nice chest that I get to cuddle up to for the rest of my life." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before kissing her forehead softly. "And while we keep talking about PTSD. More specifically, about your PTSD." Looking up at Jay as he said that, Alex was confused when he said that. After all, she isn't diagnosed with PTSD. "I don't have PTSD." Jay sighed as he looked at the woman he loves, before kissing her forehead softly. "Unfortunately, I'm not so sure that's the truth Alex, because I am starting to see some signs of you actually having PTSD." Alex sighed as she cuddled up to him. "Because of how things went down." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as that most definitely is the truth; and he hates that this is what something that they need to talk about, especially since it's related to one of the hardest times in their life…and that would be when she gave birth to the twins (which is something that she's been having dreams about lately).
"Have you been having dreams about when you gave birth to the kids again babe?" Alex took a breath and agreed with Jay as he asked her whether she was having dreams about when she gave birth to the kids again, as she most certainly was. That was exactly what she was dreaming about. "Unfortunately." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before kissing the top of her head; at the same time, Jay smiled due to the fact that he's very comfortable with Alex on his chest right now. "Alex, I hope you know that you can always talk to me about this. We need to be there for each other." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that. "I just don't want to make you worry too much, and make you have more PTSD." Jay shook his head as he heard Alex say that. "Alex, I am always worried about you; so, you can't make me any more worried than I already am about you." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before running her hand up and down his chest; after which, she kissed it once more. "I'm okay Jay, I promise." Jay agreed with Alex as she told him that she's okay.
"Still, I feel like I have every right to still be worried about you." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before smiling; that was, until she heard her dad's voice. Walking up to the door, Hank knocked and took a breath. "Uhm, I just wanted to let you know that I'm leaving. I'll see you when you…" Alex shook her head. "Hank, no. You're going back to Chicago." He was a bit taken aback when he heard Alex tell him that he was going back to Chicago, as that was not something that he was expecting to hear; and that was due to the fact that he thought that he would just go to a hotel, not leave whatsoever. "What?" Alex took a breath as she looked at her father. "Hank, listen….I love you; you know that right?" Hank agreed with his daughter. "Hank, you did it to us again. You keep doing it to us. Hank, you could've killed me, and I am still worried about you at times. And after what you did, I am not okay with you being here anymore." Hank took a breath as he heard Alex say that. "Not even if I'm…" Alex shook her head.
"Hank, I am not doing it. I am not playing this game anymore, because you are just causing me and Jay stress right now. And I do not want to have stress on my twins' first Christmas." Hank sighed as he heard Alex say that. "Alex, we can…" Jay just looked at Alex as he said that. "Hank, no. We are not doing this. Alex just asked you to leave, and you are going to respect my wife's wishes right now." Hank looked at Jay as he said that, before taking a breath. "And there's no…." Alex just looked at her husband as he said that. "Can you take care of this for me?" Jay agreed with Alex as she asked him to take care of this right now. "Yes, I will. I will take care of him, okay?" Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before rolling off of his chest; after which, Jay got up out of his bed once more. "Let's go. Let's get you on the road." Hank just looked at Jay when he said that, before watching as he walked over to him and then pushed him out. "Let's go, because I am done playing." Hank got worried as Jay said that, before walking out ahead of him. "Seriously, at least put pants…"
Jay shook his head. "Just shut up." Jay then went to grab Hank's shirt, before leading him out of their home so that they can be alone.
They were now alone with each other, which is exactly what Jay and Alex both wanted right now. They wanted to be alone with the kids, and just holding each other close as they cuddled up to each other in bed; and now, they had their home alone once more. And that's what Jay and Alex really need right now, and it's exactly what they should've had in the first place; because they truly regret even having to go through this experience, as Alex feels like they shouldn't have invited him to come in the first place. And now, she felt like she needed to apologize to her husband; and not by giving him pleasure (other than soft kisses on her neck), but by actually saying it. But first, one more soft kiss on her neck. "Sorry." Turning his head to look at his topless wife while she cuddled up to him in bed, Jay shook his head. "Hey, you have no need to apologize Alex. This is not your fault baby." Alex sighed as she heard Jay say that, before pushing herself up off his chest. "Jay, I'm the one that wanted him here in the first place." Jay shook his head and sighed.
"Alex, this is not your fault; Hank was the one that did this to us, he was the one that did what he did. He didn't play by our rules, and that was why he left our place. We didn't want him here, and that's why he's gone. That's not your fault, nor will I ever blame you for what he did to us. Alex, he did it to you; just as much as he did it to me." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, smiling as she felt Jay turn his head and kiss her forehead softly. "I love you Alex, and that will never change. You are the love of my life, and the woman of my dreams. I will always want to be with you, more than anything in the entire world." Alex smiled as Jay told her that, really happy that was the truth; and she could tell that it was the truth, simply because of how Jay always held her when she needed it. "Jay, I know that; you don't always have to say it, because I know you do. And I also know that you paid his cab fair back to the airport." Jay looked down at his wife and smiled as he turned his head and kissed her forehead softly. "I may have had an ulterior motive for that."
Alex was confused as she heard Jay say that, before looking up at her husband. "And what would that be?" Moving to grab his phone, Jay smiled as he opened it; after which, he proceeded to open the Taxi app that he has on his phone. The taxi app that shows the exact route that the taxi took today. "It's so that I could get this." Going to grab Jay's phone, Alex sat up for a minute as she looked at the map; however, she was confused as to just what it was. "Okay, what the hell is this?" Jay smirked as he put his hand on Alex's back and stroked it with his thumb. "It's the map of your dad's taxi ride." Alex just looked at Jay as he said that. "Oh, that way you could see that he was at the airport? Wait, where else would he…" Jay laughed. "A hotel?" Alex thought about it. "Oh, I could definitely…." Reaching up, Jay put his hand on her neck and then put his thumb over her mouth. "Shut up." Alex was confused as she heard Jay say that, before feeling him grab her phone; after which, Jay proceeded to put it down on his side table charger. "Come lay down."
Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before laying down on his chest once more; after all, that's what Jay just asked her to do. Lay down on his muscular chest, as they cuddled up to each other; and damn was this comfortable, for both Jay and Alex. And now, they are both just holding each other close…with Alex's hand on his toned chest, and Jay's arm around her back. After which, Jay started to run his fingers through her hair and kissed her forehead softly. "I love you." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "I love you too Jay, and I am so glad that we're alone right now; because this is exactly what we both need right now. Just to be alone and taking it easy with our children." Jay took a breath as he heard Alex say that. "Alex, can we talk though?" Alex agreed with Jay as he said that. "Of course, we can. Is everything okay?" Jay sighed as he moved his hand to Alex's leg and stroked it with his thumb, after which Alex turned her head and left a soft kiss on her neck; and boy did Jay love the feeling of that kiss.
"Oh, now that was something sexy." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that. "And so are you, especially when you have sex with me." Jay snickered as he heard Alex say that, before turning her head and kissing her forehead softly. "Oh, now that was incredible." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that. "But listen, about what I need to talk to you about." Alex agreed. "What is it?" Jay sighed. "It's about what happened." Alex agreed with Jay, while he turned his head and left some kisses on her forehead. "I think we need to keep our distance from him. And I'm not just talking for now, or just for a while…but I think that we need to really just take a long break." Alex sighed and agreed with her husband as he said that; after which, she ran her hand down his chest. "Alex, I'm worried whenever he's around us. I'm worried he's going to do something that will just screw everything up, and I am not comfortable with him around us; and that's why…I think that if we want to see him, we should go to Chicago. He shouldn't come here, because then we're stuck with him."
Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, as that most definitely is the truth. "Yeah." Jay took a breath, and just ran his hand up and down her back. "So, are we in agreement that we keep Hawaii as our getaway…and our paradise, while Chicago is where we see him?" Alex smirked and agreed with Jay as he said that; after which, she turned her head and kissed his chest softly. "I want you to be happy Jay, and I know that you aren't happy when Hank is here; so we are going to do that. We're going to do what we can to make sure that you're happy. And that means that you're not going to have to deal with him here in Hawaii anymore. He's going to stay far away." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before running his fingers up and down her back; meanwhile, Alex went to kiss Jay's neck softly. After all, that was exactly what Jay wanted to feel right now; she wanted to feel his beautiful wife's lips on his neck…especially since she is extremely sexy. And Alex knows that she's sexy, which is why she's currently laying down on his chest right now.
"So, we're going to have to tell your brother that we're alone on Christmas." Turning his head, Jay smiled as he was actually interested in that. "Actually, I think I might keep that to myself." Alex just looked up at her husband as he said that. "I mean, that was the original plan; for us to just have Christmas with the kids. And I like that idea, especially when this is what we need right now. We need to be alone, and we need to just take it easy and relax with each other." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, really liking that idea; after which, Alex proceeded to kiss his neck softly once more. "God, I am so ready to just do that for the rest of the time. This is exactly what we both need to do right now, just hold each other as we relax in bed together." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that, before moving his hand to Alex's back; after which, Jay stroked it with her thumb while turning his head and kissing her forehead softly. "I still want to talk about the Christmas thing. I think that we should just be alone: me, you, and the kids alone with each other."
Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, actually really liking that idea. "I like that idea. Well, for Christmas Day at least. Or are we talking about Christmas Eve too?" Running his fingers up and down her back, Jay smiled as he turned his head and kissed Alex's forehead softly. "I think that we should be alone with the kids." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that and smiled as they both cuddled up to each other; after which, Jay turned his head and kissed the top of her head. "I'll talk to my brother about that, but not right now; because I am too comfortable right now." Alex smirked as that was exactly how she felt like now. She feels extremely comfortable, and she just wants to hold Jay close to her right now. "I want to stay like this for the rest of the day, and I want to just stay in your naked arms like this." Jay smirked as he heard Alex say that, as that was something that he loves the idea of; the two of them holding each other close, and just taking it easy with each other. "Well, I really do like that idea. The two of us just doing this right now."
Alex agreed with Jay as he said that. "Then let's just do this for now, and we can call Matt and Gabby later too." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, as that's something that they most definitely do need to do. They need to call their friends and check on them, which is exactly what Ethan and April are currently in the midst of doing at the hospital.
