Hi Readers: Sorry for the MAJOR delay in starting today, but I ended up getting distracted ahead of starting; and honestly, I am just tired a bit today. But right now, I am not going to waste anymore time; because we have a lot to write. We have this story to write for you guys, and then I have my other story to write. But for now, let's just concentrate on THE CASEYS as that's the story that you want to read right now. And hopefully, your daily dose of the Caseys will be longer than yesterday's post; because that was just pathetic. Not even 3,000 words? Well, that's just not okay for my loyal readers; rather, you deserve long chapters…like this one.
Chapter Two Hundred and Seventy-Five
Family Time, Not Business Time
Casey Hospital Suite, 5 PM – Yes, it's already five in the afternoon; that's how long the new family of six have been asleep, as Noah and his parents all cuddled up to each other in the hospital bed. But now, things were starting to change as Matt was starting to wake up to the sound of his wife's voice finishing on the phone with the hospital (I mean, who else could she be ordering food from?). This is a hospital after all, and there is no skip the dishes or uber eats; plus, that's ordered from an app rather than a phone (well, voice wise).
"Yes, a nice warm bottle of fresh milk. Some baby food, and two chicken meals. One with a side of mashed potatoes, and the other with a baked potato."
Turning his head, Matt went to put his hand on Gabby's back as he wanted something else; more specifically, he wanted mashed potatoes too…as he didn't want to have to use a knife around Noah. And let's just say that Matt putting his hand on Gabby's back worked, as she soon turned her head and looked at the man she loves. "Yeah baby?" Matt smiled, before telling his wife what he wants for supper; that he wants to have mashed potatoes rather than his regular baked potato that he always gets.
"Can you get me mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato?"
Smiling as she heard Matt's voice, Gabby was just happy that one of her men were awake now; but unfortunately, she had to break his heart…because the baked potato was not for him, but for her. And that was something that she was going to tell her husband, as she put her hand on top of the phone so that they don't hear her voice. "Who said that I don't want a baked potato, as well as some mashed potatoes? We're sharing the two meals with each other, so don't say a word." Matt agreed wit his wife, smiling at her.
"Sorry."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before turning her head to go back to talking to the room service. "No, I'm still here. Sorry, my husband was just being picky in thinking that he was the only one that wanted to have a baked potato, when I am very much interested in having a baked potato. Just because I just gave birth, doesn't mean that I don't get to have a baked potato for supper." The receptionist for room service couldn't help but agree with the new mother as she said that, laughing through the phone.
"Okay, thank you so much. Now, how long? Okay, thank you and have a good night."
Going to hang up the phone that she just used to order some supper for both herself, and her boys; Gabby Casey smiled as she turned her head and just looked at her husband. After all, what he did was pretty selfish. "Wow. Didn't know that you were the only one that could enjoy a baked potato instead of mashed potatoes." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, before looking down at Noah; their little boy, who was still fast asleep in between the both of them this (late) afternoon. "What time is it anyways?" Turning her head, Gabby smiled as she went ahead and checked the time. "It's five, and that means that it's almost supper time." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case. "And that means he's going to be exhausted after eating." Gabby agreed.
"You know, there is something that you can do right now."
Smirking as he heard Gabby say that, Matt thought that she was going to ask him to lean over her and give her a kiss; so, he pushed himself up and went to start leaning over his son and wife. However, that was not what Gabby wanted; rather, she wanted her husband to do something for her. And that would be to give their little boy a bath, as he was really starting to stink; unless that was him, then he needs to go take a shower…because one thing that Gabby was not tolerating, was the smell that was in the room.
"Nice try Casey, I am talking about getting ourselves ready for bed. Or more specifically, Noah ready for bed."
Turning his head as Gabby said that, Matt soon realized what she wanted him to do; and that would be to get their beautiful son here changed into his PJs for the night, as well as to give him a bath. "Bath and PJs here for Noah?" Gabby agreed with her husband as he asked her to change Noah into his PJs (while also giving him a bath). "I don't think he's been washed since we left the house, because he smells; and my nose is not really enjoying it to tell you the truth." Matt laughed, agreeing with his beautiful wife.
"Honestly, I was getting a bit worried that I was the one that smelled like that."
Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, before going to smell him as he said that. "I can't help but think that it might be a good thing if you took a shower too, as I do not remember the last time that you took a shower. Maybe you can Noah can take a shower together?" That's when Noah started to wake up and look at Matt, while also reaching out for him. "Well, I think that can be arranged now that Noah is looking at me; what do you think Noah? Want to go take a shower with daddy?" Noah just smiled.
His towel was wrapped tight around his waist as he walked over to Gabby and Noah in bed, with his little boy also just wearing a towel this evening; after all, Gabby wanted to help him do something rather than just sit there and do nothing. She already can't help him wash their son, so she can at least help him get undressed so that he can take a shower with Matt; something that Gabby would most definitely love to be doing right now, especially since it would mean that she gets to enjoy Matt's hands all over her body.
"Yeah, you're going to go have fun with daddy in the shower. The truth is, I think you're pretty lucky; because I would love to be in the shower with daddy right now."
Laughing a bit as he heard Gabby say that, Matt shook his head as that probably isn't something that she should probably tell their son; especially when it has sexual annotations as to what she really wants to do with him, because they always do it when they're in the shower with each other. And let's just say that Matt loves it just as much as his wife, but he's not going to advertise that to their son (who doesn't even understand what Gabby is talking about right now). "Okay, maybe calm down with the sexual talk with him." Turning her head to look up at her husband, Gabby just laughed before shaking her head; after all, he was one to talk with him always telling their boys about how beautiful he thinks she looks…and sometimes even calls her sexy in front of them. "You're one to talk, already getting the word 'sexy' in their vocabulary!" Matt sighed as he heard Gabby say that, as he wasn't to blame.
"You do realize that my best friend does spend time with them too? You know, the one who doesn't have that good of a filter when it comes to those things?"
Thinking about it, Gabby agreed with her husband as that most definitely is the truth; Kelly Severide does not really have a filter on his mouth when it comes to that, and she can clearly see that their sons might be picking some of that up from their uncle Severide. "I swear, I better not ever hear them call me sexy." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, before deciding that he wants to do something ahead of picking Noah up off their bed; but that action requires him to be next to Gabby, on the other side of their bed. So, he went ahead and walked around their bed; that way, he can be right next to his beautiful wife (and have the ability to lean over her). I mean, that is exactly what Gabby wants him to do right now after all; she wants him to lean over her and kiss her softly. "I think we both know that you are desperate to have this right now." Gabby smiled, agreeing with Matt as he told her that.
"I think you're just as desperate to have it daddy."
Matt smirked as Gabby called him a 'daddy' as that most definitely is exactly what he is. He's a daddy, and he's proud of that, because he loves being a father to all four of their kids. But he just wishes that he'd be doing it all at the same time right now, because they only have three of the kids right now; but for now, that's okay. Someday soon, all four of the kids are going to be here; and they are going to be here for the rest of the hospital stay. "I think in a couple days, when Noah is off monitoring…I think I might want to go from a daddy of three, to a daddy of four." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware of just what he was talking about; and that would be that he wants to have Matteo here with them as well. "We can talk about that after your shower okay?" Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before leaning over her and proceeding to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world.
After which, he turned his head and looked at Noah; the little boy who was going to be joining him in the shower. "Listen, promise me that you ask the nurses or whoever brings food to knock on the door rather than you? I want you to just take it easy and rest in bed." Gabby agreed with her loving husband as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I know baby, and I promise that I'm going to stay here in bed rather than get up to tell you that the food is here." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, as that was exactly what he wanted to hear; he wanted to hear that his wife was going to stay put, and not come get him when she needs to rest. "Good, because that's exactly what I want to hear the love of my life tell me." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, before moving her hand to the side of his face. After which, she started to take things nice and slow with the man she loves. "I love you" Matt agreed with Gabby.
"I love you too, forever. Now, I'll be right back."
He might have exaggerated a bit when he said that he'd be right back. As that most certainly was not what Matt Casey was, as he ended up taking a bit longer than expected in the shower; but there was a reason for that, which was Noah. He wanted to get out so much, but Noah was just having so much fun in the shower with him…and what father could really deny his son what he wanted most in life? To have fun with his daddy? If there was on thing that Matt knew, it was that he was not going to be the one who had to tug him out of the shower kicking and screaming; rather, he was going to have to be told to get out of the shower with his son. And that was exactly what just happened, as Matt came out of the shower with his son his arms; the father having just finished getting the both of them ready for bed. With him wearing a fresh pair of boxers, and Noah wearing a fresh diaper and some comfortable pyjamas.
Pyjamas that the baby boy loves so much that he always wants to wear them; in fact, they had to get a couple pairs of them just so that he would be happy. But hey, at least they aren't all the same design; and they're changing now. The last ones that he wanted to wear? Thomas the Tank Engine, now he's wearing Paw Patrol PJs. Yes, you heard that right. Noah is a huge fan of Paw Patrol, and he loves watching the show; but he's not watching too much of it, as Matt and Gabby are keeping the boys away from TV of late…and Matt is also keeping Gabby away from the news right now. Especially after some of the most recent headlines, from an "inside source" at Casey. Those headlines: "ELLA CEO Gabby Casey goes into premature labor with twins, after fight with now-suspended ELLA Chief Creative Officer, Stella Kidd." And that was what Gabby was in the midst of reading right now, as Matt came out of the washroom.
"What are you reading baby?"
Turning her head, Gabby sighed as she watched as Matt walked over to the crib so that he could set Noah down for a bit; after all, they set up some toys for him in there. And he can play in there for a while. "There you go buddy, how about you play with your toys ahead of supper?" Looking up at his dad, Noah was quite happy with that idea; but he was still missing something, and that would be his blanket. After all, he needs to get comfortable with his blanket; and that was something Gabby knew, as she saw Matt set him down in his crib. "Here, you might want to give him this if you want him to lay down in his crib for now." Turning his head, Matt watched as Gabby held out his blankie for him; after which, he walked up to her and went to grab it. "Good idea." Gabby agreed. "And good idea to put him in there for a bit. He can play, and just get comfortable in here." Matt agreed with Gabby, smiling at his girl.
After which, he proceeded to lean over her and kissed her softly; that was, until he saw the headlines too. Just looking at them, Matt sighed as he could just tell that Gabby has been looking at them for a bit; especially since they are still on her iPad. "Listen, how about you leave that page open? As I am going to want to read it." Gabby agreed with her husband. "Just to let you know, I already texted Rafael and he's going to talk to your sister to deal with it." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, getting the message that she was sending him loud and clear; the message being that she didn't want him to take care of it, not when they are in the hospital right now. "Listen, I am going to set Noah up in bed; then, I am going to come join you in bed. You need to breathe and take it easy. I can read the article, and then we can talk about it ahead of us having supper." Gabby agreed with her husband, liking the idea he just proposed.
Tugging his shirt down shortly after putting it on this afternoon, Matt smiled as he made his way over to bed so that he can join his wife in bed; but first, he decided to lean over her and kiss the woman he loves. "Hey, look up at me." Looking up at her loving husband as he said that, Gabby smiled as he looks really good in what he was wearing right now; after all, what wife doesn't like the sight of her husband just wearing his boxers and a t-shirt for her. And right now, that's exactly what Matt is wearing for Gabby as he leaned over her and put his hand on the sides of her face; after which, he leaned over her and proceeded to kiss the woman he loves softly. "I love you." Gabby agreed with her loving husband as he told her that, especially since she feels the same way about her amazing husband.
"How about you get in bed, then you can sit with me as I show you what I'm going to call Christie about?"
Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before going to get in bed with Gabby once more; after all, that was exactly what he wanted to do right now. He wanted to get in bed with the woman he loves, and just hold her close to him; plus, she wanted the same. And now, she has it as Matt climbed into bed with her right now. "God, I love it when you join me in bed." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Good, because I love being in bed with you. Now, are you going to show me what I need to worry about, if I need to worry about anything?" Gabby agreed with her husband as she watched him get close to her (while wrapping his arm around her some more), while also getting quite comfortable; after all, this is what she wants right now. To be held by her husband as they cuddled up to each other in bed. "So, what do we need to talk to Christie about?"
Sighing, Gabby proceeded to open her iPad to show Matt exactly what was going on. And let's just say that the headlines were not the best. "ELLA CEO Gabby Casey goes into premature labor with twins, after fight with now-suspended ELLA Chief Creative Officer, Stella Kidd." Taking a breath as he read the title, Matt turned his head and looked at his wife. "Our teams will take care of it Gabby, I promise. Right now, I am going to concentrate on you and Noah; because this is where I'm needed right now." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, loving that he just said that. "I hope you know that it means the world to me to hear you say that." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, well aware that was the case as he leaned in and proceeded to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Good, because you're my wife; and I love you. And that's why I am not going to work right now."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "You are my wife, and you are my priority right now; and you will always be my priority." Gabby smiled as she agreed with Matt, starting to take things nice and slow with him. That was, until they were disturbed.
"Oh, am I disturbing?"
Turning their heads, Matt, and Gabby both saw the nurse with food. "Please, no. Come on in and we can eat." The nurse agreed with the couple before doing just that for the both of them, she brought the meal over to the both of them so that they can eat tonight. Meanwhile, Matt's sister and Rafael Solano are going to take care of it at the office…even if that means that they have to take time away from their own families, which is exactly what Rafael is in the midst of telling his wife he has to do….
