Hi Readers: Sorry for the delay in getting this chapter out to you guys. But I had to run some errands today, ahead of me writing. But now, I'm here to write for you guys. A chapter involving another father in our story. And on that note, I want to wish all the Fathers who (maybe) read my story a Happy Father's Day. Now, let's get to the chapter that I get to write for you guys today.

Chapter Two Hundred and Seventy-Six
Taking Care of It – Part One

Office of the Interim Chairman and CEO – Taking a breath as he walked around his office on the twenty-first floor of the Casey Headquarters this Wednesday Afternoon, Rafael Solano took a breath as he spoke to his wife; after all, he did need to give her an update on just what was going on here at the office. And that was due to the fact that he was going to be late today, and he wasn't going to be able to have supper with her and Matteo; rather, he was going to have to stay at the office, and work with their boss' sister so that he can take care of the newest crisis that he has to deal with in his position. He just hopes that his wife understands. "Yeah, I can only assume that you already know why I am making this phone call from the office ring now." Jane Villanueva Solano sighed, but she also agreed with her husband; after all, she already had a feeling why he was calling her. And she was going to state the reason.

"Is it related to the story that came out? The one regarding Mr. and Ms. Casey?"

Rafael sighed as Jane asked him whether the reason why he had to stay was related to that story, because it was; that was the entire reason why he had to stay and take care of it for their boss. "Jane, you know that it pains me more than anything than to have to stay away from you and Matteo. You know that I want to be there every night, but this is my job at the moment; and I don't want Mr. Casey to have to deal with it when he needs to concentrate on his family at the moment." Jane agreed with her husband as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I definitely understand. I also heard from Luisa that his son was admitted to the hospital." Rafael was shocked as he heard that. "Oh dear, I didn't hear that part. I just hope that he's okay at the end of the day." Jane agreed.

"Heaven knows that the couple already have enough to deal with at the moment."

Rafael agreed with his wife once more, before taking a breath. "Well, I promise to send my best by way of his sister; that's who I'm going to be meeting with as we have supper together." Jane agreed with her husband as he said that, as that was a great way to get the message to the family. "I think that's a good idea. Say hi to Ms. Casey on my behalf, and tell her that I will keep in touch with her if she wants for the ELLA marketing, because I heard that Ms. Severide is suspended?" Rafael agreed with his wife. "I'm going to talk to Mr. Casey in a few days to figure out how we're going to deal with that, as I'm not sure. But for now, maybe just go through me for ELLA Apparel. I will communicate with them at the hospital for the division." Jane agreed with her husband as he said that.

"Not like that's going to be hard, because we see each other every night."

Rafael agreed with Jane as she said that, as that most definitely is the truth. "I promise that I'm going to try and be home before we put Matteo to bed…" Jane stopped her husband as he said that. "I will keep him in our room tonight, and then you can bring him over to his nursery later. How does that sound?" Rafael smiled as he heard Jane say that, as that sounds like a great idea. "Maybe we should start doing that when I work late. We keep him in our room, until I get home; then I can move him to his room to say goodnight?" Jane agreed with her husband as he said that, as that sounds like the best idea. "I love that idea." That's when Rafael heard a knock on his door. "Hey Rafael, our takeout just got here." Rafael agreed as he looked at Ms. Casey. "One minute, wife." Christie agreed.

"I can only assume that's Ms. Casey, and your meeting is starting now?"

Rafael agreed with Jane once more, as that most certainly was the truth; and that also means that he needs to go, and just get to work. "Well, here's the good thing now that she's here; the sooner we get this started, the sooner I can get home to you and Matteo." Jane agreed with Rafael as he said that, as that most certainly is the truth. "Well, if that isn't the truth. Now listen, how about you get to work and have a good supper. Love you." Rafael agreed with Jane as she said that. "Love you and Matteo too." Going to hang up, Rafael put his phone in his pocket while taking a breath; after which, he turned to look at Ms. Casey. "My apologies Ms. Casey." Christie shook her head. "It's okay, you're the acting CEO after all; and please, call me Christie." Rafael agreed with Christie.

Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, before walking over to his desk so that he can sit down. "Still, you are a shareholder in the company; while I'm not a shareholder, and I therefore work for you." Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that. "Well, I guess that would be fair. But at the same time, I am only a minority shareholder; I only own 5% of the company, far less than my brother owns." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, before walking over to his desk and sitting down. "So, I hope that we can both agree to speak a bit personal first?" Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that. "Well, I first want to send my best to your brother and his wife on behalf of both me and my wife." Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that, really appreciating that he said that.

"I will make sure to send those to my brother and sister-in-law."

Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, glad that was the case. "Thank you Christie. Now, do you want to eat first? Or would you rather we just get right to work? That way, we can both get home." Christie laughed. "Not that I really WANT to get home at the moment." Rafael was confused. "Do you mind if I ask why?" Christie sighed. "I am not going to worry you about the transition from teenager to adulthood yet, as that is not something you need to worry about having such a young son. How old is he again?" Rafael smiled. "He's seven months old today." Christie was shocked. "Oh wow, you and my brother have sons born 20 days apart." Rafael agreed. "Oh, about his sons. How are they? God, I can only imagine what they're going through right now?" Christie sighed.

"They're doing good. Wait, did that come out in the news too?" Rafael was confused as he heard Christie say that. "Sorry, did what come into the news?" Christie sighed. "Okay, you didn't hear this from me but…my nephew was found unconscious today and was just admitted to the hospital with his parents." Rafael was about to take a bite of his supper, when he heard Ms. Casey say that. "I'm sorry, what? Gosh, I am so sorry. Wait, do you…" Christie agreed. "Don't even ask me whether I want to work, as I need a distraction." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that. "Yeah, I think we should concentrate on the reason why we need to be here." Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that. "Okay, how about we start with this? How about we bring up the headlines?" Rafael agreed.

Turning his head, he then proceeded to grab his computer screen. "Here, I'll give you this one." Turning her head, Christie watched as Rafael gave her full view of one of the screens, which also made her realize that he had three screens. "Wait, how do you have three screens?" Rafael sighed. "I asked your brother to let me have it, along with having a desktop computer; my laptop is connected to the server, and I can log onto my account on both my desktop computer and my laptop. But the desktop is needed, because I need a bigger processor based on everything that I need to take care of. And all the news that always comes out. So, I have a set up. Left screen is a constant stream of news and social media. Center screen is for work, and this other one is to read my e-mails and reply."

Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that, as he has it set up. "Well, I'm glad that you have it set up the way you can work really well; because if I know one thing, you really help my brother. But we're getting off topic, and we need to get to work." Rafael agreed. "Oh trust me, this is just our first of many meetings that we have with each other; I'm sure of it." Christie agreed. "Are you saying that we should meet up every single day to try and control all of this?" Rafael agreed with Christie as she asked him that, as that most certainly is what he was thinking about. "Oh, I most definitely do think that would be a good idea. However, we just need to take it easy and concentrate right now. I guess, there's a reason that the both of us need to talk." Christie agreed with her boss as he said that.

"You want to screen what you want to say to the outside world?"

Rafael sighed. "Also, I wanted to meet with you personally; and I want to make sure that we have a good working relationship, especially since I know that I'm in a tricky situation when it comes to you." Going to take a bite, Christie was confused. "Can you explain to me why that would be the case?" Rafael sighed. "You're both the President and Chief Brand Officer. By the way, I think that's a much better way to explain your title; especially since you do marketing, and you control what we put out to the world." Christie agreed. "With the assistance of my brother's friend Heather Darden. And I want to make sure that you know that I've already spoken to her, and that she's going to be joining us permanently in a couple weeks. She hates working remotely from Los Angeles."

Rafael agreed. "Thank god. I have to say, I really hate when I need to wake up early for a morning meeting with her from Los Angeles, especially when I have a son. Heck, I always come into the office and need to miss him waking up; amongst other things." Christie just looked at Rafael when he said that, before realizing that he was talking about things with his wife. "Oh…" Rafael agreed. "Yeah, this just turned awkward." Christie agreed. "Rafael, believe me. I am more than used to it, as I only have a brother." Rafael agreed. "At least you're close to your brother, because my sister is crazy; and I have been keeping her far away from my son." Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that. "Yeah, that's bad. So, I can only assume that you understand some of why we need to have a clear message?"

Rafael agreed. "I just hate that this is happening to your brother again, right after Gabby gave birth once more; because it happened again, last time she gave birth to the boys." Christie agreed. "Yes, yes it did. Now, How about we get back to talking about that. And the shit that her friend has brought upon our family." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, before turning to look at his computer. "I just want to let you know that I have been brought up to speed when it comes to just why things have been so tense between you, your brother, your sister-in-law, and Mr. and Ms. Severide. And I have yet to speak to them, as I want to make sure that I get your family's point of view first. But now, we need to get back to that; and we need to make sure that we concentrate on the message."

Christie agreed. "I think that the first part that we need to concentrate on is the fact that this happened in the past, and we can't let it happen again." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, as that most certainly is the truth. "I know that's the case, and we do need to ensure that this doesn't happen again; and I am not just talking for the sake of the company, but I'm talking for the sake of your family. I can only imagine how hard your brother is taking this." Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that, as that most certainly is the case. "Oh, that most certainly is the truth. They are taking it pretty hard, but they're dealing with it as good as they can." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Can you really prepare yourself for this though?" Christie sighed.

"I think my brother and sister-in-law can, as this is something they dealt with before."

Rafael sighed when he heard Christie say that, as that most certainly is the truth. "I know that they most certainly do have a lot to deal with. But right now, we are going back to concentrating on this once more. Now, how are we going to deal with this; are we going to talk about this? Or are we just going to follow the same script that we followed the last time that we had to deal with this?" Christie thought about it, because she believes that would most definitely be the best way for them to deal with it. "I think that most certainly was something that we could do, because that would be the best way to deal with everything." Christie agreed as she went to grab her tablet. After which, she proceeded to take note of that. "But, I have one more thing that we're going to do."

Christie looked up at Rafael as he said that. "What's that?" Rafael looked at his fellow executive. "Well, it's about how we released the statement." Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that, while continuing to take notes; that was, until she heard Rafael say something. "More specifically, who is going to make the statement." And that was when Rafael started to loose Christie, as she didn't understand what he was talking about; after all, they already have a spokesperson for the company. "I have no clue what you're talking about. I mean, we already have a spokesperson for the company. Aren't we going to have her do it?" Rafael shook his head. "No." Christie was confused as she heard the interim Chief Executive Officer say that, before asking him the question at hand. "Then who?" Rafael smiled.

"You."

"Me? You want me to make the statement?"

Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, as that most certainly is exactly what he wants her to do. He wants her to make the statement, and there was a reason for that. "Mr. Solano, we already have a spokesperson for the company; and that would Ms. Heather Darden." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, well aware that Heather Darden is the Chief Communications Officer for the company. "I know that Ms. Darden is the CCO for the company, but that's not the person that I think would have the biggest impact on the press." Christie was confused as she heard Mr. Solano say that. "Oh, you're loosing me." Rafael agreed. "What title do you think would have the most impact with the press?" Christie was still confused, but just listened to the acting CEO.

"Heather Darden, Chief Communications Officer? Or Christie CASEY, Family Member and Chief Brand Officer?"

Christie thought about it and agreed with Rafael for two reasons: (1) because of her last name, which would truly allow her to speak on behalf of the family; and (2) because she's also an officer of the company, which allows her to speak on behalf of the company. "As much as we trust Ms. Darden to speak on behalf of your family, I truly believe that a member of your own family will have a much bigger impact. Because you can put your heart and soul into the statement. And we can tailor it to be much more personal. Rather than have to say, 'the family of the Chairman and CEO.' We can say, my family, my brother, my nieces, my nephews. You can personalize it, and I am sure that it will be much more personal; and it will look more like a pleading from the family to just take it easy."

Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that, as that most certainly is the truth when it comes to what would be best for the company. "Now I understand why my brother put you in charge of running the company while he was in the hospital, because you most certainly do have a bunch of experience." Rafael smiled as he heard Christie say that, glad that was the case. "But that doesn't mean that we're going to just let you write the statement on your own, because we're going to write it on behalf of the company. We're going to have Heather come in and we're going to talk about it. We can work on it tomorrow with her, and we will make the statement tomorrow. But for now, I think we can start with just a tweet." Christie agreed. "I think we already know what we can say." Rafael agreed.

"We can figure it out as we go, but I just want to make sure that you help us make the statement."

Christie agreed with Rafael once more, as that's something that she feels like she should do anyways. "I think that I should do that anyways, because we want to make sure that we do it in a way that our family would say it." Rafael agreed with Christie, before smiling at her. "Now, what are we going to do now? We going to eat and then work? Or do you want to start?" Christie smiled as Rafael asked her that. "How about you open the word document, and we can get to work? I want to send it to my brother too, and he can read it. I know that we should leave him out, but I also know that this is related to his family; and if it was related to my family, then I would want to get a chance to read it." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, as that most certainly is the truth.

"I completely understand, especially since I am a father. Just like your brother, I would do anything to protect my family." Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that, because she could tell that the acting Chairman and CEO was going to protect his family at all costs. "We both know that you're always going to do that, and I'm positive that your wife is happy about that." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, more than ready to get home to his family as he went to eat once more. "What do you say we eat and keep writing this statement, then we can get your brother's input?" Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that. "Well, we need to start with the fact that we need to make sure that people know that it is true that Stella is suspended." Rafael agreed.

"And I think that Mr. Casey did the right thing, and that he was justified in doing it."

Christie agreed. "I would rather not speak about her right now, as she's currently putting my nieces at risk." Rafael agreed with Christie as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Speaking of which, I want to talk to you about her suspension. I want to know what you're thinking about it, and how long we should keep her suspended." Christie sighed. "I'm not in the best place to answer, but what were you thinking?" Rafael took a breath. "I was thinking of keeping her suspended until they're out of the hospital." Christie agreed with Rafael as he said that, as that was what she was thinking as well. "Good, because if you were thinking of bringing her back any sooner than that; then I was going to have to veto you as a shareholder in the company." Rafael agreed with Ms. Casey.

After all, he was well aware that he wasn't going to let her back too soon. "I promise, we're going to keep her away from the company until maybe when Mr. Casey is back so that he can monitor things." Christie agreed. "I might even try and get appointed as an interim Deputy CEO to oversee ELLA until Gabby can come back permanently." Rafael smiled ads he heard Christie say that, because that's exactly what he wants Christie to do. "Actually, that's exactly what we're going to do. We're going to put you as interim Deputy CEO to oversee ELLA until Gabby is back permanently. How does that sound?" Christie smiled as she heard Rafael say that. "Do you want to include that in the statement?" Rafael agreed. "And they can approve it before we put it out." Christie smiled. "Let's do it."
