Sorry for the delay in getting this out to you, but I am ready to at least get this one out to you; however, I am not sure how long it's going to be, as I only have a few ideas for it. But still, I know that you guys are going to like it; at least, I hope you do. Let me know what you think as we check in on the Halstead Family ahead of work.
Chapter Two Hundred and Eighty-Two
You Okay with Me Going In?
Halstead Home – He made sure to be quiet as he walked out of his closet; carrying a nice shirt, and some freshly ironed pants that he was going to wear today. After all, he wanted to make sure that he represented their family (and the company) effectively; because the last thing that he wants to do, is embarrass his friend, or their family. And that was due to the fact that he's already going through enough with his family, and Jay most certainly does not want to add any more to what he needs to deal with at the moment; nor does he want to worry his wife and wake her up when she needs to rest. After all, the twins didn't sleep the best last night; and he hated the fact that he wasn't going to be here to help her if she needs him to, and just wants to make sure that Alex knows he'll stay.
And that was only possible due to the fact that she was awake at the moment, and clearly eyeing him as he stood in front of her in nothing but his boxers this morning. "I can only assume that you like the sight of me, just wearing my boxers as I walk around out room right now?" Smiling as she heard Jay say that, Alex extended her hand as she wanted her man to make his way over to her; something that he made sure to do, as he saw Alex extend her hand. But first, he set his clothes down on their bed; that way, he didn't get all ruined, which was the last thing that he wanted at the end of the day. He wants to look good as he stands in front of the press, ready to defend his friend and boss from the media right now, as he hates that they're doing this to him again…especially when he has PTSD.
Because yes, Jay is well aware of the fact that Matt still has PTSD about how everything happened the last time; including all the press that came after his family, the last time Gabby gave birth prematurely (to their twin sons). But this time, it was different; and that was due to the fact that she gave birth to their twin daughters, who are quite adorable based on the pictures that they've seen so far. However, there was another reason that Jay could relate to Matt; and that was due to the fact that he knew what he was dealing with, due to the fact that this happened to him and Alex when they had their own twins. And that was why he felt like he had to do it, so that he can make sure that their friends are well taken care of. And that's something that Alex understands more than anybody.
"So, I need to ask this because I'm your husband; you're positive that you're okay with me going to the office, and doing the press conference right?"
Agreeing with her loving husband as he asked her that, Alex smiled as she watched him make his way over to her; after which, she smirked as Jay sat down next to her on the bed. After which, he leaned over the woman he loves and put his hand next to her on the bed. "God, you look so beautiful this morning." Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, before feeling him more his hand to her neck; after which, she moved her hand to his arm and stared up into his eyes. "I've already told you that I'm proud of you, right?" Jay smirked as Alex asked him that, as that most certainly was something that she did, when they made love to each other the night before. "Oh, you most certainly did when we had all that fun last night." Alex smirked, and agreed with the man she loves today.
At the same time, Jay bent down and proceeded to kiss the woman he loves softly; taking things nice and slow with his gorgeous wife, Jay just smirked as this is exactly what he wants to do right now. He wants to take things nice and slow with his gorgeous wife, whom she loves more than anything in the entire world. "God, I am so glad that this is how we're starting our day." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case; after which, she put her hand on his arm and smiled due to the fact that she truly loves her husband more than anything in the entire world. "Me too, and I am really turned on by the outfit that you decided to wear for me this morning." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that. "Or the lack of an outfit, as I am just wearing my boxers for you right now." Alex agreed.
Plus, she loves the sight of Jay just wearing his boxers; so, she's not going to complain, and tell him that she wants him to wear anything other than his boxers right now.. "If it were me, then I would want to have you in this all day." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Well, listen…I am just going to the office for the press conference, and then I am coming home after a quick meeting with Antonio; we're going to just take it easy, and let our employees work from home for now. We don't need them in the office, not when there's a chance that we might have them be bothered by the press." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, as that most certainly is a possibility right now. "I hate that we all have to deal with this again." Jay agreed, before taking a breath.
"I know, but this is our reality at the moment; and we just need to do whatever we can to weather the storm."
Alex agreed with her loving husband as he said that, well aware that was the case. "And I hope you know that me and the kids are going be fine, and that we can deal with you being gone for two hours." Jay snickered as he heard Alex say that, as that will be the longest he's gone; he can't see himself being gone any longer than that. But that doesn't mean that Jay wants to waste any time in just standing around, as the faster he leaves, the faster he's back with his family. "If I need to work, I already said that I'm working from home." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "I know that Jay, just take a breath and relax." Jay nodded as Alex told him that, before making his way over to the pants that he already got out to wear this morning.
After which, he went to grab them; but first, he saw his socks and decided to put them on so that he didn't have to waste anymore time bending down. So, he carried them over to his and Alex's bed and sat down on the edge of it; after which, he went ahead and bent down to put some small socks on. "I hope you know that I'm proud of the statement you wrote with Will." Turning his head as he put his socks on, Jay smiled as he very much knew that was the case. "It was the right thing to do, and I would've wanted Matt to do the same thing if we were in this situation." Alex agreed with Jay, before thinking about it. "I think that he did do the same thing when I gave birth to the twins prematurely, or it was Will and Natalie. I forget who it was, but there was a statement." Jay agreed.
And upon further thinking, he realized that it was actually all four of the people that Alex mentioned. "I think it was all of them, as it was released by Casey." Alex nodded, as that was right; after which, she smiled as Jay stood up after putting his socks on. And damn, did she love the sight of her husband just wearing his boxers; especially as he walked around their room, just so that he could go get dressed. And sure, him wearing pants was not as exciting as him just wearing boxers; but that was okay right now, as she knew that he needed to get ready. She just loved that Jay took his time when it came to putting his jeans on, though she also knew that there was a reason for that, which was that he wanted to tease her, just like he tries to do whenever he gets a chance to do so.
"I hope you know that you are a real tease when you do that to me."
Snickering once more, Jay nodded as he went ahead and did up his belt; after all, he very much knew that Alex was always turned on when he did things like this. "Oh, I know that you are really turned on when I do stuff like this." Alex agreed with the man she loves as he said that, before watching as he made his way over to her once more; however, this time, he was wearing his jeans. "Let me guess, someone wants a kiss from their wife?" Jay smirked as he agreed with Alex, while also knowing that he was going to get a kiss; and that's due to the fact that Alex is still hormonal, and always wants to give the man she loves whatever attention she can give him. "Oh, you're still hormonal anyways." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before smiling as she put her hands on his face this morning.
After which, Jay bent down once more and went ahead to kiss the woman he loves more than anything; the woman he craves, and the love of his life Alexandra Marie Halstead. However, the kiss wasn't long as Jay still needed to do other things. "Sorry, I need to get out of here; but listen, I was thinking of leaving Max here..." Walking over to his dresser, Jay proceeded to grab his deodorant and started to put some on as he turned around to face Alex once more. "…but only if that's okay with you, and you feel like you can take care of him alongside yourself, and the twins. If not, I can bring him to the office and put him in my office there." Alex bit her lip as she thought about it, before taking a breath; after all, she is still recovering from giving birth to the twins.
"Let me guess, you'd rather I bring him with me?"
Alex sighed as she looked at Jay as he asked her whether she'd prefer it if her brought Max with him to the office, because she truly would prefer if he did. "I was thinking of taking a nap while you were gone, since the twins wake me up anyways; other than during the press conference, when I'll be watching. So, I am not sure that…" Seeing that Alex was starting to get a bit worked up, Jay put his hand up as he grabbed his shirt. After which, he put it on as he made his way back over to her. "Hey, take a breath and just relax; let me finish getting ready, and then it'll sit with you as we talk. Remember, you need to relax babe." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, well aware of the fact that she needs to relax; especially since she's still in recovery after giving birth to the twins.
Walking back over to Alex once he was fully dressed, and ready to go to the office; Jay smiled as he went ahead and looked at the woman he loves, who just so happened to have just moved over in bed for a reason. And that reason would be that she wants the man she loves to sit down in bed with her and wrap his arm around her. And let's just say that Jay was more than ready to do just that, as he was happy to hold his beautiful wife in his arms; because he loves her more than anything in the entire world, and she's the woman of his dreams. So here he was, sitting down in bed with his beautiful wife as he wrapped his arm around her this morning; but at the same time, he felt Alex grab his hand…an action which also forced him to turn his head, and look into her gorgeous eyes today.
The eyes that he loves to stare into, because she truly is the love of his life; but it also prompted him to do something else, which would be to lean in and kiss the woman he loves softly. And let's just say that Alex love that feeling, the feeling of his soft lips on hers as they took things nice and slow with each other. "Damn, I love that feeling so much." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I am well aware of the fact that you love the feeling of my lips on yours; and I also know that you wished that I was shirtless, as I kiss you this morning." Alex shook her head, as that most certainly was not the case; and that was due to the fact that she wanted to take it easy, and she just wanted to relax with him this morning (which is what she needs to do anyways).
"No, I'm more than okay with you not being shirtless…as we need to take it easy right now."
Jay agreed with Alex as she told him that, before smiling as he turned his head and kissed her forehead softly; after which, he turned his head and bent down to kiss the woman he loves softly. "I love you." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that he loves her, as that was something that she knew; so much so, that he didn't have to tell her. "Jay, you don't have to tell me that you love me. You do so much for me, that I know that you love me. You are such a great father, an amazing husband; and you always protect me, and our interests." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, because that's something that he'll always so; simply due to the fact that he is her husband. It's his job as her husband to protect her, and that's never going to be something that she can't rely on him to do.
The last thing that Jay wants Alex to be is hurt, emotionally or physically; and it pained him to see her hurt when she was giving birth to the twins, because that was something that truly broke his heart. "Alex, I love you; and I will always protect you, even when you don't want me to protect you. And I know you are a very strong woman, but you are going to have to put up with me protecting you; you and our family, and our marriage means more to me than anything. And I will always defend and protect us and our family." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, well aware that was the case as she proceeded to put her hands on his face; after all, she wants something from her husband right now. And that would be another kiss, a sweet this on her lips; given to her by the man she loves.
"Come here handsome and give mommy what she wants right now."
Jay smiled and agreed with Alex as she told him that, before leaning over her and going to kiss her softly; after all, that was exactly what they both wanted him to do right now. They both wanted him to lean over her, and kiss her softly. However, what they didn't expect was to be disturbed. But unfortunately, that was exactly what happened right now. "And that would be my brother, who always has the best timing in the entire world." Alex was a bit confused as she heard Jay mention that his brother is here, as she didn't know why. "Why's Will here?" Jay smiled. "Did you really think that I would take I'll be okay for an adequate answer? I already called them, and asked Natalie to be here; so that she can help if you need help, as we have twins." Alex laughed, before agreeing with Jay.
After all, she should've expected him to do something like this. "How did I not realize that you were going to do that even if you didn't need to?" Jay smiled as Alex asked him that, before going to get up; after which, he leaned over her once more and kissed the woman he loves softly. However, that was soon interrupted by the doorbell once more; as that was exactly what his brother just had to do, disturb him going ahead and kissing his wife again. "I am going to kill my brother." Alex shook her head. "You do that and get in jail; then I am not bailing you out today." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that, before getting up so that he can make his way out of their room and to the front door so that he can let his brother and sister-in-law into their home, and comment on the timing.
Halstead Front Door - He just finished ringing the doorbell a second time, which most certainly was not something that Jay was going to appreciate, as it risked waking up his children; and right now, he wants Michael and Olivia to stay asleep. That way, Alex can just take it easy and relax ahead of them going to the office; anyways, he still has stuff to do. Most importantly, he has to put Max outside so that he can go to the washroom; as the last place that he wanted him to do that, was at the office. But now that he was outside, he had something else to do; and that was speak to his brother about just how rude he's being, and how he's risking waking up his children. And if he did that again, then he would not be here on Christmas Day with them; not that he could be here.
But first, Will had to do something else; and that was apologize to his wife, who just told him not to do what he just did. "Will, I just told you that you shouldn't do that; they have kids, who may be asleep." Turning his head, Will realize that and got nervous as he looked at his beautiful wife; after which, he decided to lean in and kiss the woman he loves. "Sorry." And that was when Will heard his brother open his door, with the same message. "Sorry is right, just be lucky that the twins didn't wake up." Turning his head to look at his brother, Will smiled. "Looking handsome Jay." Jay agreed with Will, before looking at him. "I can say the same thing about you Will. Now, are you going to just stand there? Or are you going to let your wife walk into the house?" Will laughed, before letting Natalie go.
After which, Natalie proceeded to walk into the house and went to hug Jay this morning. "How are you doing?" Jay smiled as he hugged his sister-in-law. "Good, just need to remind my brother here that I have a wife who is still recovering, twins, and a dog that I had to put outside." Natalie agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case as she proceeded to take off her shoes; after which, she looked at him. "Is Alex already up?" Jay agreed with Natalie, before turning to look at her and smiling. "And she's patiently waiting for her sister-in-law to join her in our room. We're going to make breakfast for you ladies in bed." Natalie agreed with Jay as he said that, truly appreciating that. "Thanks Jay." Jay agreed with Natalie as she said that and smiled at her.
At the same time, Natalie walked away so that she could go see Alex; meanwhile, Jay turned to look at his brother as he wasn't too happy. "Are you really that impatient? You're acting like a child William." Will agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case as he made his way into the house; after which, he shook his hand and smiled. "C'mon, let's just go make our wives some breakfast this morning. And we can also look over the new statement that is coming out, and how we're going to do it. I just got an e-mail from Rafael with some information." Will agreed with his brother as he said that, before proceeding to walk further into his brother's house so that they could make breakfast for their wives this morning; breakfast they would all enjoy this morning.
Primary Suite – Walking up to the primary suite of her brother and sister-in-law's home, Natalie Halstead couldn't help but smile at the sight of Alex just relaxing there in bed; all the while, her niece and nephew relaxed in their cribs this morning. And that was when she just decided to speak to Alex. "I hope you're okay with a guest today." Turning her head, Alex smiled as she most certainly was okay with having a guest today; because that was exactly what she wanted as Jay went into the office, a guest. "Oh thank god, you came. I need some girl time." Natalie laughed as she heard Alex say that, before carrying her bag over to Jay's side table this morning; after which, she decided to make her way around his and Alex's bed so that she can go hug her sister-in-law this morning.
After all, she still needs to rest and take it easy; but first, she decided to do something else. And that would be take a look at the adorable duo that were currently at the end of their bed, and whom she was currently in the midst of walking by. "God, they are both so adorable." Smiling as she heard Natalie say that, Alex couldn't help but agree. "I can only agree with you there Natalie." Natalie smiled as she heard Alex say that, before continuing to make her way over to her. "So, how are you feeling?" Leaning over her sister-in-law, Natalie proceeded to hug her with the hopes of seeing how she was doing. "Considering my husband waits on me all the time, I am doing really good." Natalie agreed with Alex as she said that, well aware that was the case; just as she expected it.
"Honestly, I had no doubt in my mind that was how it was going to be with Jay. He loves you too much to let you out of bed, when you need to rest and take it easy after such a hard birth."
Alex agreed with Natalie as she said that, as that most certainly is the truth; but at the same time, she let out a sigh as she tries not to remember what she had to go through with her father. "Yeah, still trying to get over that." Natalie sighed, before shaking her head. "Let me guess, you need to talk about that with someone other than your husband?" Alex shook her head. "Just don't want to think about it. Today, I just want to rest and take it easy." Natalie agreed with her as she said that, before smiling as she walked around the bed once more. "Well, I have something that we can do today." Alex was a bit confused as she heard Natalie say that. "Oh, and what would that be?" Natalie smirked. "Christmas shopping online!" Alex agreed with Natalie, before smiling at the idea.
"Yes, please! I will make sure that Jay gives me the credit card so that I can use it."
Natalie just smiled as she proceeded to climb into bed, as she got comfortable ahead of spending the day with her sister-in-law. A day where they most certainly will be doing some Christmas shopping. "When do you want to start?" Alex smiled. "Let me just wake up and take it easy please. And I need to do something else." Natalie agreed. "What's that?" Alex took a breath. "Breast pump, on my dresser." Natalie agreed with Alex as she said that, before walking over to it so that she can grab it. "Where are the bottles?" Alex sighed as she heard Natalie ask her that, before going to call for Jay. "JAY!"
Rushing back into the primary suite after being called by his wife, Jay just got worried as that was not what he expected to hear. "Alex, hey, what's wrong? Is it the kids? I can…" Seeing her husband all frazzled, Alex smiled as she got him to breathe. "Okay, breathe Jay. Breathe for me." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before taking a breath; after which, he looked at the woman he loves. "I was just going to ask you to get me the bottles so that I can make some for the kids." Jay just looked at Alex as she said that, as that was not something that he liked the sound of; after which, he proceeded to walk away. "We're going to talk about that when I get back." Alex sighed, well aware that was the case.
