Mira's POV:

It was day 4 of the Grand Magic Games and I was standing on the Fairy Tail Team B balcony alongside the rest of the team. Aisha had come back into the team but she had mentioned yesterday that she had found out the name of today's event. It was called Naval Battle, because of that the obvious candidate was Juvia. She was a fantastic water mage, Aisha had wanted to fight but she knew that she'd have been at a massive disadvantage with the water. She was used to fighting in the desert and dry areas, this was totally alien to her.

I looked over at the sand mage and she was standing at the far left, her hands folded behind her back. She was always standing to attention, it does make me wonder what her experiences were before she arrived here. She had mentioned being in the military but I had a feeling she was highborn too, with her mannerisms especially. She was very well spoken in our language, and I'd guess she could speak several more. As the event was starting to begin I walked past Cana who looked at me as I strolled past her, she really didn't trust Aisha which was something I could never understand. Aisha has seemed very comfortable in the guild and has made a few friends already. Though for some reason Cana could never see past that, I just hope after the games they can become friends.

As I stood next to Aisha and leaned on the balcony I looked over her, she was solely focused on the games, clearly annoyed she wasn't able to participate today. She was wearing a light robe with a face covering today. I could only see her dark brown eyes, which looked over at me and I swear I could see her smile beneath the mask.

"Mira, are you worried about this event at all? There's a sense of unease in the air, I don't like that woman that Sabertooth is sending in. She is powerful, but it's more than that. She seems cruel."

I looked over at the arena floor and saw who she was speaking about, Minerva. She is supposed to be extremely powerful, she was also the person who stepped in and stopped the fight between Natsu and Sabertooth's guild master. She took Happy hostage, she doesn't play fair.

"I think your concern is warranted, but Lucy and Juvia are powerful. I think they can handle her and win this event for us."

"I hope you're right, I don't know much about Lucy but I know Juvia. This is her element, she should knock the living daylights out of her."

I smiled at that comment, they are both really strong and they should take home the gold for us in this event. I looked into Aisha's eyes again and I could see there was something else troubling her.

"Aisha, are you okay? It seems like something else is bothering you today. Other than the games."

Aisha sighed and turned away from me, looking at the giant water sphere in the centre of the arena. She took her hand from behind her back and tapped the stone barrier in front of herself.

"There are a few things I am thinking about, it's just this time of year. This was about the time the war ended back home, when my entire life fell apart. I barely have any family left and they're thousands of miles away. It's hard being away from them at this time of the year, after the war I always made an effort to come find them in July."

I looked at her with sympathetic eyes, I have never seen her like this. She seems so down, she was annoyed that she couldn't fight but she just radiates this profound sadness.

"I know it can be hard being away from family, when Elfman and I thought Lisanna had died it was awful. Every anniversary of her disappearance we'd go to her grave every single year, it hurt every single time I saw her name on that gravestone. All I could do was mourn her, but I had Elfman there with me. You know if you wanted to talk about it more I'd be more than happy to listen."

Aisha sat up on the stone barrier and turned to look at me, her head hanging low.

"Thank you Mira, it's good to have someone here who I can speak to about this sort of thing. You understand what it's like, I haven't actually told you what happened during the war, especially those last few days."

I nodded back at her, looking into her eyes.

"When the war was coming to a close, Hijaara and the tribes from the north had come to a stalemate. They held onto a few key towns and still occupied a significant portion of the Northern Wastes. They had their eyes on a city called Osiris since the start of the Invasion, it was the second city of Hijaara and was the most heavily defended. The city had never fallen to a foreign army despite many sieges."

Aisha looked up and directly at me, her voice becoming more and more stern the longer she talked.

"In July X787, I was on a mission with a few other Priestesses to gather some intelligence. When we were away the city was betrayed. Someone had opened one of the main gates and a large force entered the city under the cover of night. We came back a few hours later and I found the city on fire. It lit up the night sky, all we could hear was the screams of the people. It was hell, the population who survived the initial attack were taken as slaves, women were raped and people were tortured. Osiris was completely sacked."

I couldn't hide my shock, that was awful. No wonder she had been so closed off before, I couldn't imagine seeing something like that. Nothing Fairy Tail had seen to this point had been as brutal as that.

"I snuck into the city and killed a few of the guards and managed to make my way into the Palace, the Lord of Osiris was killed as was his son. Almost the entire defence council were slaughtered except a few people, one of them being Saadiya. Saadiya was from a noble family and joined the Priestesses around the same time as me, she was a lovely person and very strong. She was taken by the empire alongside a few other Priestesses; they had already left the city with the high value prisoners."

Aisha got off the barrier and stood next to me whispering into my ear.

"With the fall of Osiris our defeat was almost guaranteed, the Prince of Hijaara did the only thing he could do and surrendered our independence to the Empire. With the Imperial army we marched on the tribes and we destroyed the Tribal army a month later. The problem was though, when I destroyed their camp I found out later that the prisoners were in there. I killed my own lover, I killed my friends. I cannot and will not ever forgive myself for that."

I looked over and saw that Aisha was crying, tears had welled up in her eyes and she avoided looking at me. The tears dropped on the ground in front of her, she walked past me and headed out of the arena before I could stop her. I let her go and looked at the door she stepped out of.

She feels beyond guilty, I have never seen her show that much emotion, especially to the point of tears. This is hurting her, I need to speak to her soon. Aisha needs comfort, and I'm the only person who can give her it.
