Aisha's POV:
The figure standing before me was Saadiya al-Hain, she was a priestess alongside me from the start of the war. We spent those years together, we fought together and eventually we fell in love. When the city of Osiris fell, I thought she was taken as a prisoner and when I destroyed the Tribal camp I thought I killed her. She was alive and I could tell from her aura that she was very much alive, she wasn't a historia or a reanimation.
I looked over at her and I felt the tears well up in my eyes, she looked right at me and she was audibly crying. Tears fell down her cheek and landed in the soft snow in front of her. It had been five years since the war ended and she had barely changed, she was still as beautiful as she was before. She had amazing clear dark skin, she had large brown eyes and perfect teeth. She wasn't as tall as me or as strong but she was very shapely. She wore a large white robe over her body but I could still see her curves through it. There had been a time in my life where I thought Saadiya was the most beautiful person in the world. I considered leaving Hijaara with her after the war but other things came up, I couldn't abandon my home or my family.
"Aisha, I am so sorry about this." Saadiya spoke up and fell to her knees, she had her face buried in her hands. She was sobbing uncontrollably, I bit my lip trying to not let my tears fall. I knew what she was apologising for, and as much as I hated to admit it. Ailenor was right.
"Sorry about what? What did you do Saadiya" I tried to sound menacing but my voice betrayed me, my voice cracked as I felt emotions I had buried resurface. I balled my hands into a fist and stared at her
"Aisha, none of this was supposed to happen! This wasn't part of the plan." She managed to look up at me and I could see the guilt in her eyes.
"What happened Saadiya?! Tell me!" I raised my hand and my squad ran to my side, staring her down. My squad was entirely composed of Hijaarans and they all had a personal connection to Osiris, they were baying for blood.
Saadiya looked down at the ground and put her hands into the snow trying to stabalise herself, she was breaking down completely. "I am so sorry Aisha, the deal the Empire offered me wasn't supposed to go down like this. All they said was if I let the Tribes into Osiris they would take it without any bloodshed and Hijaara would join the Empire."
I ran towards Saadiya and kicked her in the face, sending her onto her back. Her nose was broken and blood was flowing freely. I raised my hands ready to crush her in my sand. "Why the fuck did you do that?! You traitor, how could you do that to your country?! How could you do that to me?!"
Saadiya writhed in agony on the floor, she held onto her nose and didn't try to fight back against me. She was ready to die at my hands, and I would oblige but I needed answers first. Why would the Empire do that? Nothing made sense here.
"I'm sorry Aisha, after you had your marriage arranged I was devastated. I was going to lose you to that scion bastard. I couldn't lose you, the Empire said after the city was taken they would allow us to be together! Hijaara would be desperate after losing Osiris and would willingly join the Empire and bring peace!" As I prepared to crush her in my sand, I felt a change in the wind and dodged out of the way. A magical blast flew just past me, hitting Laila in the chest killing her instantly.
I sent my sand to kill Saadiya but she shot up and sent a blast of dark energy straight at my head, using my sand form to allow for it to pass straight through me. She jumped backwards and two people appeared either side of her, they were more reanimations she had summoned. I looked at the reanimations and they wore Imperial armour, I didn't recognise who they were but from the insignia on their chest it looks like they were from Invel's personal unit.
"Squad, contain the reanimations and I will kill Saadiya! You don't need to defeat them, just buy time and I will defeat the caster." I knew Saadiya was powerful and she had clearly learned new tricks. I had to kill her as quickly as possible to save my squad.
I put my hands together and conjured sand world, encasing the battlefield in a thick sandstorm. Anyone who wasn't a sand user would be affected horribly, the Fairy Tail mages would be further away from the battlefield as they helped the allies we saved earlier.
I used my sand form to try and sneak up on Saadiya as my squad distracted, forming a blade in my hand and trying to bring it down on her neck. She turned around and she wasn't able to dodge it. I brought down the blade on her. The hit connected and instead of soft flesh I was met with it being blocked by something rock hard, I felt the coldness emanating from her neck.
She raised her hands and cast a pillar of light that almost split me in half, using my sand to dodge out the way. I looked into her eyes and she looked dead inside, like she was being controlled. Then the pieces started to fall in together, the coldness, the sudden thrusting into battle. She was under Ice Slave, that bastard! Invel Yura, I am going to kill you.
Out of the corner of my eye I watched helplessly as one of the reanimations cleaved his axe through the head of one of my squad. I felt myself getting angrier and angrier, and I will torch this entire empire down. I created another sinkhole directly underneath us, sending my squad, the reanimations and Saadiya herself tumbling down into the pit. Without me right next to my squad I couldn't lend them my power to use my sand cloak, this is for the best. The reanimations won't be able to use their attack on my squad.
I used my sand cloak to float above the pit as everyone struggled to stay above the sand, desperately trying to not drown in the insurmountable amount of sand that I had created. I created sand harpies to try and rescue the remaining members of my squad, they lifted the three remaining members and raised them above the pit. I smiled as I watched them get out safely before I heard a thunderous bang and saw Saadiya laying on her back in the pit conjure a dark magic blast that split into three killing them all instantly. I turned around in absolute shock and went into a rampage.
I used my sand cloak to travel straight to her, trying to bring my foot down onto her face, crushing it. She crossed her arms and blocked my attack, I summoned a sand spear trying to stick it through her chest before she forced me off of her when her body illuminated with energy. Sending a pulsating blast through the entire pit, sending me flying backwards and into the centre of the pit. I used my sand cloak to stop myself from falling and conjured a sand tornado to force her upwards, and when she was suspended in mid air I used my sand bullets to kill her. The bullets hit her chest, arms, legs and head. I unsummoned all of my spells as the reanimations disappeared, before she fell lifelessly onto the ground.
I stormed forward and picked up her body effortlessly, pulling her robes down over her neck to check. I saw the ice slave collar that I suspected was wrapped tightly around her neck and underneath the collar I found a note as I took it and slipped it into my pocket. I laid her gently down onto the ground and looked over her, watching her lifeless body and I felt my emotion overcome me. I collapsed onto my knees and began to uncontrollably sob, my tears fell down freely onto my cheeks and onto the body below. I knelt over her and closed her eyes, I really had killed her now. Despite all she has done to me, I cannot deal with her death for the second time in my life.
I saw the Tribal soldiers march forward to me, I used my sand to create a barrier between us. Enclosing Saadiya and in an impenetrable box, I place my head on her chest. I took the note from my pocket and opened it.
"Aisha, if I die by your hands I want you to read this. During the war I wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for you, that's why I betrayed Osiris because I was willing to do anything to stay with you. Every night when I sleep I think about the city and you. I shouldn't have done it but Invel said that we could be together afterwards. He wanted the war to end in a way that would bring Hijaara and the Tribes into the Empire, everything was engineered from the start. After the Fairy Tail mage arrived in Vistarion he began to suspect you of treason and as a result changed war plans to leave you in the dark. He isn't in the North, nor is the Emperor. He is going to try and eliminate you and Ajeel during the war and purge the Empire of any Hijaaran influence. He put this collar on me in case you did rebel, if you have been forced to kill me I want to tell you that you shouldn't feel bad. The sins I have committed in my life are unforgivable, I will never ask you to forgive me as I hope when I am stood in front of Mai-at and Anu-ai they forgive me. Please move on Aisha."
I closed the note and put it back into my pocket and I felt the tears flow even worse than before, my whole body was wracked with grief. I have lost everyone that mattered in my life, I have lost my squad, Ajeel and my Grandfather would see me as a traitor to the Empire and because of that fucking information I gave to the Empire the guild and Mira hated me. I will kill the Emperor, I will kill the Twelve and I am going to brutally murder that bastard Invel.
I was taken out of my mind when I felt as the ground began to shake, I forced the sand walls to collapse and used the sand to push the soldiers away and looked into the sky. I saw the light luminate in a red glow, she had done it. Irene had used Universe One, she was going to remake the whole country. I felt myself glow as I was transported away.
