t was the last day of summer as Luke was bored.
Luna was getting the picnic table set up for dinner. They would be eating burgers and fries by the pool, then roasting marshmallows to make s'mores. Luna had invited Sam and her family to be a part of the evening's festivities.
Luke was just waiting for his birthday, still bored.
"I want my birthday." Luke says as his friends come over.
Luna looks at Luke and pats his head.
"Just a few more months, li'l dude." Luna says with a smile.
Lucy only invited Haiku and Maggie.
"I'm sorry for what I did." Lucy says.
"It wasn't your fault. It was an accident. Let's forget about it and have fun." Haiku says.
And with that, the end of summer celebration began.
Leni was packing for school when Lori came in sobbing.
"Like, what's the matter, Lori?" Leni asked.
"I'm not sure what to do. Mom is talking weirdly and I have no love " Lori sobbed.
"Bobby finally told you off?" Leni asked as Lori nodded.
Luan sighed as she had gotten used to being an outcast. Benny left her and she had no choice but to shut down her birthday party business as her heart wasn't in the right place for her to continue running it. She also gave up comedy entirely.
Lana was in her room as she felt lonely. She lost Hops and couldn't find him because of Lola. She sniffed and sobbed. Skippy was her only real friend in the midst of all this and has been there for her when he was needed. Skippy was with her even now, consoling and comforting her. And of course, Lana no longer considers Lola her twin.
Later, Luke was eating and looking around. He then sees a cake Sam made and looks at it.
"Cake." Luke said, smiling as he began to eat it.
Sam smiles. "It's good, isn't it? I made it myself."
"Thanks, Sam…" Luke said.
"Did you read what it said?" Sam asked.
"Uh, no…" Luke said, looking at Sam. "What did it say? You can tell me."
"It said 'Happy pre-birthday Luke', and I used blue icing to write it." Sam said with a smile.
"Thank you. I want my party to be big, grand, and all about me." Luke said.
"I'm sure it will." Sam said, sitting with Luke.
"They will ruin it…" Luke sobbed.
"Who will?" Sam asked.
"Lola, Lynn or someone else. It always happens…" Luke sobbed.
"That will not happen. Not while me and Lunes are around." Sam said to Luke. "And with my dad as the police sergeant, they know who they'll deal with if they try anything."
Luke smiled a bit. Lucy was thinking of a poem for Luke's birthday as she flashed back to the first birthday Luke celebrated with the Louds. It ended horribly with Luke sobbing and the family fighting.
"Sigh." Lucy sighed before going inside with Haiku.
Luke was done eating cake as he yawned and saw some news crews outside wanting interviews. Luke began to get overwhelmed from all of the attention.
Lucy's hand pulled Luke inside as she closed the door. She was sweating and looking nervous herself.
"Ever since the luck incident, we've been bombarded with questions. I hate it." Lucy said.
"Why not file a restraining order?" Sam asks Lucy.
"Against news crews? Is that possible?" Lucy asked.
Sam nods. "It is."
"I'll do it as soon as possible." Charity says.
Meanwhile, Lincoln was about to get ready for bed and saw the news crew outside.
Luan groans. "Why are they here now?!"
Lisa looks nervous and holds Luan's leg
"I am filing a restraining order." Rita says, looking annoyed.
Leni opens the door "Hello!" Leni said.
"Hi, Leni Loud, would you be kind enough to answer some questions?" Katherine says
"Sure." Leni said.
"What was your reaction to discovering that Luke wasn't bad luck?" Katherine asked.
"Well, I was disappointed in most of my siblings for their actions…." Leni said before Lori pulled Leni inside and slammed the door.
"Lori, that wasn't nice." Leni says.
"Leni, you're just going to make it worse." Lori says.
"You, like, brought it on yourselves. Me and Linky knew Luke wasn't bad luck, but you were all SO deep in denial that you kept trying to cover it up. Eventually, all of Royal Woods is going to find you all out." Leni said.
Lisa was crying with Lily as they hated seeing their siblings fight. Lincoln comforts them and takes them to another room.
"You guys have no one to blame for all this but yourselves. You lost a lot of things now. And as school starts, you'll be losing lots more." Leni said.
"What are you going to do, run away?" Lori asked.
Leni nods. "I am not staying in this place with luck-mongers. And I'm taking Lily with me. She's been through enough of this and doesn't need to be around when it eventually will get worse."
"Coward, you're such an idiot, that you're ditching your own family?!" Lori shouts before covering her mouth.
"Leni, I didn't mean it…" Lori says.
Leni cries and runs upstairs into Lisa's room "Linky, we're leaving now." Leni sobs.
"Way ahead of you." Lincoln says packed up.
"Don't you dare think about running away, Lincoln!" Lori shouts.
"Good thing I had a plan." Lincoln says as he climbs out the window with Lily and Leni as Lisa was following.
"Leni, please don't go…" Lisa sniffed.
"Lisa, do you remember what happened to Luke?" Leni asked.
"Not really…" Lisa says.
"Leni, we need to get Lisa out of here. I know she's a bit crazy, but this may be a chance for a fresh start." Lincoln says.
Leni smiled and took Lisa's hand. She then texted Luna.
Charity was smiling with Luke when Luna saw the text. Luke was confused.
"Mom, should we pick them up?" Luna asked before realizing her mistake "I mean Miss Huntington " Luna said as her face was red.
Charity goes to pick them up as she finds them by the roadside.
"Um, hello again." Leni says, not sure what to say.
"Luna told me everything. Come on, let's get home." Charity says. Everyone gets in the car.
They soon arrive at Huntington Manor as Lisa and Lincoln's jaws drop.
"Wucy!" Lily says as Lucy hugged Lily.
"Hi Lily, it's been a while." Lucy says.
Lincoln hugged Luna as Luna smiled and hugged Lincoln.
Luke surprisingly hugged Leni.
Luke smiles. "Welcome home."
"So, where do we put our things?" Lincoln asked.
"In your rooms, of course." Charity said.
"Our rooms?" Leni asked.
"I had rooms prepared for you all." Charity says.
"Since when?" Lincoln asked.
Charity smiled and showed them to their rooms.
Lincoln's room was themed around space as it had a Starship Groupers theme. There were other elements of the other shows he liked around the room. His comics were shelved on a sherbet orange bookshelf.
Lincoln was in awe of everything in his room.
Leni looked at her room.
It was a fashion designer's paradise with lots of colorful fabric, mannequins, and everything she would need to design perfect outfits. Her bed was minty green with a comforter in minty blue and pillows made with floral fabrics.
Leni squealed.
Lisa looks around her room. It was themed around science. Lisa looked around as her memories was starting to come back.
Lisa shook her head. "I did that. I fell for it. Well, no more, I am a woman of science!" Lisa says and decides to get to work on a gift for Luke.
Luke hears this and got interested at the sound of Lisa making him a gift.
"Wait, where am I?" Lisa asked.
Luke smiles. "You're in your new home."
"Where are our mother and father units?" Lisa asked as no one knew how to tell her.
"We can't tell her. Not now." Lincoln says.
"I'll tell her." Lucy says as she begins to explain.
Lisa was beginning to tear up.
"I can't believe they're gone…." Lisa says, sad.
Lucy sobbed. "I think I killed Mom." Lucy says.
"How?" Luan says.
"I gave her a heart attack. I'm a freak. I mean, you all are afraid of me." Lucy sobbed.
"None of us think that anymore." Luan says.
"Yeah." Lori says. "After all that's happened, we're going to learn to accept our siblings for who they are."
"Really, you don't mind me?" Lucy asked.
"Not at all!" Luan says.
After a while, Luke just took Luna and Lucy to his room and closed the door, indicating he really didn't want to be around any people.
"Do those siblings love Luke?" Luke asks Luna.
"Yeah. It may seem like they don't, but they do." Luna says.
"How come they never show it?" Luke asks, sadness in his voice.
"Sometimes you're too angry to see it. Don't worry, we accept you." Luna says.
Luke gets sad. "They'll never show it again…." He then goes to bed and cries.
