A.N. — Today's birthday character is someone who seems more popular in the fandom than her number of appearances suggest. Because a lot of my "knowledge" originally came from reading fanfics, I'm rather partial to her myself.

36. Emi Fukukado/Ms. Joke

Ketsubutsu was a pretty ordinary institution — well, as plain as a hero training academy could be. So having the vibrant Ms. Joke be their most visible instructor seemed off-brand. Emi liked to think she provided a counterbalance to the school's staidness. After all, these kids were going to eventually see plenty in the field to jade them; while they were in her care, at least, they got to enjoy growing up happily unencumbered. Aizawa showed tough love to his students, but Emi taught with levity lacing her lessons and thought her graduates all the more well-adjusted for it.

A.N. 2 — Why, oh why, does this site not allow periods in the chapter titles? This one's the second drabble to fall victim to that little issue (Tommy S. Gordon being the other).
