Hi Readers: Sorry again for the huge delay. But I want to let you know that this is going to be our last chapter for tonight.
Chapter Three Hundred and Thirty-Six
She's Delusional
Sitting in the bar with Gabby and his friends, Matt took a breath as he took a sip of his drink; and by drink, he means beer. He told Gabby that he needed a drink, and that she was not going to stop him; and before she could argue, Kelly spoke up for him and just told her that he needs a drink. So, she let him do just that. She let him grab a drink, so that he could take a minute to just think about what the hell happened out there; and just what Sylvie even said to him, just how delusional she is right now based on those comments.
"Matt, I was going there (to Hawaii) for you."
"Last time I checked, any woman could've given you a baby."
God, just the thought of those statements playing back in his head were horrible; but at the same time, it worried him. It worried him that this could get dangerous, and that was something that he hated; that made him wonder if this was a mistake, a mistake for them to come back. As it meant that they were once more in the same city as her, the woman who's caused him hell; and could easily cause him hell again, as she seems hellbent on doing something to take him away from Gabby. And that worries him and scares him. No, it petrifies him; all based on the way that she looked at him, like she could just grab his shirt and kiss him. That it would be that easy for her to get him. That she could just kiss him, and that he would leave his family; and forget everything that she did to his wife.
That he would ever leave his miracles: his wife Gabriela, their sons Matteo and Noah, and his precious baby girls Bella and Sofia. Just the idea of him leaving them was something that made him shutter, especially since it's never going to happen. Gabby went through hell during both of her pregnancies so that she could make him a father, and that was something that was bonding them for life; the fact that Gabby loves him so much, that she would be pregnant with twins (triplets) two times in a year. Now that's true love, and something that Sylvie most definitely doesn't understand; nor does she understand the concept of marriage, which includes a vow that you stick with your wife and you're faithful to your spouse. God, that still bothered him; how she went to Hawaii for him.
And even worse, she went there on the day of his vow renewal; and that's the real reason why he thinks it's still bothering him, due to the fact that Sylvie just told him the real reason why Sylvie was in Hawaii on their vow renewal. It wasn't because she wanted to celebrate their love as one of their friends, she wanted to stop the vow renewal and try and turn it into a wedding for the two of them. There's no doubt in his mind that Sylvie would've tried to do that, while also trying to be with Gabby's brother. God, that woman just makes him sick; and that's why he's worried right now, and quite scared at the thought. The thought that Sylvie believes that she could easily replace Gabby, when she's both the love of his life. And that brings up another comment that Sylvie made to him just now.
"Matt, be honest with yourself. The only reason that you're with Gabby, is due to the fact that she trapped…"
He's glad though, that he didn't let her finish that sentence, as he already knew where she was going with it. She was going to say that she trapped him in their marriage, by giving him four beautiful children; children that are just as much a part of him, as they are a part of Gabby. And that's just…it's something that he can't even wonder. Heck, it's why he's drinking his beer some; but at the same time, that worried Gabby as he was drinking fast. "Hey, baby. Take a breath. You okay?" Taking a breath, Matt agreed as he went to look at the beer; noticing how much he already drank, he took a breath as he went to set it down…especially since it was just thee morning. But still, he did need to breathe. "Sorry, just a lot on my mind after that conversation with Sylvie." Gabby agreed with Matt.
Meanwhile, Kelly turned to look at his friend as he knew what he was talking about. "Do you want me to tell Gabby what she said?" Matt laughed. "I'd rather not." Turning her head as she heard Matt say that, Gabby just gave him a bit of side eye. "Oh, it's nothing. She's just delusional." Looking at her husband as he said that, Gabby started to get worried. "What are you talking about? And you better not say nothing, because that's a big word to say." Matt sighed as he looked at his wife. "Ok. So, you remember our vow renewal?" Gabby agreed. "God, I still hate that she was there." Matt laughed. "Apparently, she was there for me." Stella was confused as she heard Matt say that. "Okay, what are you talking about? She was there for…" Matt then went to explain it clear as day.
"She was there for me. To try and get with me."
Gabby was shocked as she heard Matt say that. "Sorry, say what now? She came to our vow renewal, to try and break us up?" Matt agreed with Gabby as she asked him that, as that was exactly what Sylvie said. "She said, and I quote: "Matt, I was going there for you." There, being Hawaii." Gabby was shocked. "What?" Matt agreed. "Oh, and then she added on: "Last time I checked, any woman could've given you a baby."" Gabby was shocked. "EXCUSE ME!" Matt agreed with his wife. "Oh, you think that one is insulting? Just wait, there's one that's worse." Matt then went to go grab another sip of his beer, as he needs on before he can say that to Gabby.
"OK. What can be worse than saying that (1) she came to Hawaii for you, and (2) that anybody could give you a baby?"
Taking a breath, Matt looked at the woman he loves. "Remember, this is what Sylvie said." Gabby agreed with her husband. "Then what did she say?" Matt sighed. "She told me to be honest with myself. And that the only reason that I'm still with you is because you trapped me." Gabby, Stella, and Severide were all shocked as they heard Matt say that; with Stella saying what was on all of their minds. "EXCUSE ME?" Turning her head, Gabby looked at her friend. "Uhm, that's my line!" Gabby then turned to look at her husband once more. "What she said!" They all snickered a bit as Gabby said that, while Matt agreed with his wife. "Oh, that was too far for me. Well, it was all too much for me; but, that was way too much." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, as it was too far.
"And then I told her about the restraining order I have against her, and then I gave her a warning to stay away from us."
Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, well aware that was the case; after which, she couldn't help but think of something. "Okay, we need to do something." Matt was confused as he heard Gabby say that. "And what's that?" Turning her head, Gabby sighed as she got up. "Hey, can I get everybody's attention please?" Turning their heads after hearing Gabby, the entire firehouse all looked at Gabby. "Okay, I need to tell you guys something before we send you guys our new address. Here's the thing, Sylvie has been harassing us lately. And we are starting to get a bit scared. So, if we give you our address, then you need to promise us that under no circumstances is Sylvie to get it." Everybody got worried when they heard Gabby say that, before agreeing with the mom.
After which, Gabby took a breath and turned to look at her loving husband. And just the way that she looked at him made him worried, as he could see it in the way he was looking at her. "You okay babe?" Gabby took a breath and just breathed. "Uhm, I don't know whether I want to be here anymore." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, understanding why that would be the case; after which, he got up and made his way over to Gabby. "Then do you want to head out of here, go start unpacking with our friends?" Taking a breath, Gabby turned her head and agreed. "Kelly, Stella; how about you guys come first? I might uhm…" Moving his hand to Gabby's back, Matt could tell that something was wrong. "Do you just want to relax and take it easy as we unpack?"
Gabby bit her lip as her husband asked her that, as that was what she wanted. She wanted to sit in bed and hold her family close to her; but not him of course, as he needs to work. She then took a breath and looked around. "Kelly, Stella, Hawkins, Violet. How about you guys come with us now? Boden, can you and the firehouse give us thirty minutes? Me and Matt are going to get things in order, with Kelly and Hawkins being our lieutenants. I mean, if that's okay you guys." Hawkins agreed with Gabby as she said that. "That sounds great Gabby." Gabby agreed with Hawkins, before smiling at him. "Chief, is that okay?" Chief agreed with Gabby, before looking at Matt. "How about Matt texts us when you guys are ready for us. Just get settled and then take it easy." Matt agreed with Chief.
After all, that sounds like a great idea; especially since Matt could see that Gabby was a bit shaken at the moment. "Guys, we'll see you in a bit. Herrmann, put it on my credit card that I gave you." Herrmann looked at Matt. "Matt, I…" Matt looked at him. "You aren't staying for supper. So eat up and enjoy it on me." Herrmann agreed with Matt as he said that, before watching as Matt made his way over to his and Gabby's jackets; at the same time, Kelly and Hawkins did the same thing for Stella and Violet respectively. "Just to let you guys know, my mother and children are there. My mom is going to help, as is my sister." Gabby agreed with Matt, before thinking about it. "Maybe just half the house should come. The younger ones, as they aren't at risk as much." Matt agreed with Gabby.
He then looked at Stella. "Stella, can you lead Gabby out to the car? Babe, take Andy with you and breathe okay?" Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, before nodding. "Maybe Boden should come too, he can be in charge. Sorry, I may…" Matt then looked at his wife. "Let's just have everybody come, as it'll be faster." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, before feeling him grab his hand; after which, Matt looked at Boden. "Boden, thirty minutes?" Boden agreed with Matt as he said that. "Thirty minutes." Matt agreed. "Oh, quick thing. Leave your cars here. And make it forty-five minutes Boden. It's a 10–15-minute walk from here, and I want thirty minutes at home alone with Gabby for a bit." Boden agreed. "Okay, just go now!" Matt agreed with his former Chief.
After which, he proceeded to lead Gabby out of the bar so that they could head home; after all, that's what they need to do now.
Casey Home - They ended up not talking the entire walk home, simply due to the fact that Gabby needed a moment alone with him; and even when they did get home, Gabby grabbed Andy's leach and just went up to her and Matt's room. Because that's where she needs to be at the moment. Alone with her thoughts as she takes it easy. And he was okay with that, as Matt went to take off his shoes; at the same time, he turned to look at his friends. "Is Gabby okay?" Hearing Stella ask him that, he took a breath. "That's what I'm wondering and want to go talk to her about for a moment if that's okay?" Stella agreed with Matt, before smiling at him; after which, she heard his mom make her way over to the door. "I thought I heard you guys come in." Turning around, Matt smiled at his mom. "Mom, I think you remember Kelly and Stella." Nancy agreed with her son as he said that, waving at the two of them.
After which, Matt smiled as he turned to look at his other friends. "And mom, these are our other friends. Evan Hawkins and his girlfriend Violet Mikami. They replaced Gabby on Ambo 61." Nancy agreed with her son as he said that, before smiling. "Now, is there a reason why Gabby ran upstairs with Andy?" Matt sighed. "There was an incident at Molly's, which is why we're home. Now, I need a moment with Gabby. So, do you think you can give me a hand? Or, where have you already started unpacking?" Nancy smiled. "Me and Christie are…" That's when Matt heard Christie. "I thought I heard my brother." Matt smiled as he made his way over to Christie, before hugging her. "Hi sis." Christie agreed. "God, my nieces are looking more adorable by the minute." Matt agreed. "Thanks. But listen, as I was saying. Kelly, you're coming up with me because I'm going to get you started on something." Kelly was confused.
However, Matt soon explained. "You're the only dad here other than me." Kelly then realized. "Oh, the cribs." Matt agreed. "Hawkins, if you want to help in the boys' room for now?" Hawkins agreed. "Sounds good, I can help Kelly." Matt then smiled at Stella and Violet. "Stella, we have a bunch of clothes in the girls' room right now. We bought some on the way for the cold. And they all got in the same package. Some of them are boys, some are girls, and some are out of the boxes. Maybe you and Violet can work together, and you can maybe sort the boys from the girls, and whether it may fit. The boys are currently wearing 10-11 months still. They still fit in 10-month-old clothes as they were born premature, so keep that. And keep any gender-neutral clothes, and/or ambulance pyjamas." Stella laughed. "Let me guess, Gabby wants the girls to wear them?" Matt agreed with Stella, as that was exactly what Gabby wanted.
"Yes. Now, I am going to go take care of my wife for a moment. All of you, mask up and go wash your hands."
Everybody agreed with Matt as he said that. "Mom, show Kelly and Stella to the powder room please; and then Mikami and Violet to the kitchen." Turning around, Matt looked at Mikami. "Oh, quick thing. Mikami." Mikami agreed. "Yeah Matt?" Matt smiled. "Today, you need to go by Mikami. Because Violet is going to be my niece since she's going to come help." That's when Matt heard his niece come down. "I'm already here Uncle Matt, I was just cleaning the tub for you guys." Turning around Matt smiled as he walked up to his niece and then wrapped his arm around her, kissing the top of her head at the same time. "Staying safe?" Violet agreed with her uncle as he asked her that. "I most certainly am." Matt smiled. "Good. Now, I need to go talk to your aunt for a moment."
Casey Primary Suite – His wife was currently in the midst of walking around their room, trying to calm down after getting changed into something more comfortable; while at the same time, she was listening to her husband. "Gabby, she's not well! There's no use in doing this, as you're just punishing yourself. Gabby, do you really think I could ever be interested in her?" Turning around, Gabby looked at her husband. "I don't know. She keeps making me question what happened that summer." Matt sighed as he heard his wife say that, as that was the last thing that he wanted to hear his wife say. "Here, how about you sit down? Please baby, sit down." Taking a breath, Gabby agreed with Matt as she made her way over to their comfortable bed; the bed where they made love last night. She then proceeded to sit on her side of the bed, while getting under the covers; meanwhile, Matt walked around their bed.
That way, he could get in with her and hold her close. "Here, slip over a bit; because I am going to join you in bed, and I am going to hold you for a bit." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that was exactly what she needed. She needed Matt to join her in bed and hold her for a bit; as that would start to make her feel better, because it always makes her feel better when she's being held by the man she loves. And now, that's exactly what she has as Matt sat down in bed with her and wrapped his arm around her; at the same time, she cuddled up to his side and wrapped her arms around him. And let's just say that, Matt was so happy that he was currently holding his wife like this, as it's exactly what she needs right now. But she also needs to know that they are forever, as he's always said that.
"Gabby, can you look up at me for a minute baby?"
Turning her head, Gabby did just that for the man she loves. "Gabby, can you remind me how long we've been together now?" Gabby agreed with Matt. "We've been together for six years, and three months." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before bending down and kissing her softly. "Best six years and three months of my life." Gabby smiled, agreeing with her husband. "Gabby, I mean it. Gabby, you're the love of my life; and you're the mother of my children, you made all my dreams come true. You made me a husband, and you made me a father. You risked your life for me twice." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that. "And you're helped me through a lot of my demons over the past year. Gabby, I hope you know just how much I need you in my life." Gabby smiled. "Gabby, you complete me. And you help me with everything." Turning her head, Gabby looked up at Matt as she listened to him.
"Whether it be telling me that I can do this thing called business or dealing with my PTSD; I don't see a way for me to do it without you Gabby."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that. "And I mean that more than anything in the entire world. Because as much as you want to believe that I could do this on my own, I can't. You're my other half, and you complete me. It's why I needed you to come back from Puerto Rico that summer. Honestly, looking back now that we're back in Chicago…I think I now realize just why I really needed you that summer." Gabby took a breath as she looked at her husband. "You think that's when you started to see the symptoms of PTSD?" Matt sighed. "And I think being here in Chicago made me realize that, and it just made me appreciate having you in my arms so much more; because of how much you help me with my PTSD, and how I…" Taking a breath, Matt looked at Gabby as she needed to hear this.
"Gabby, you know that there are very few people that I feel comfortable talking about my childhood trauma with."
Thinking about it, Gabby agreed with her husband; while also feeling him press his lips to her forehead, as they held each other close. "And baby, we've been through so much together. We've lost four children together." Gabby looked up at Matt. "Baby 1, Louie, Puerto Rico, Baby Boy." Gabby realized that and agreed with her husband. "Right." Matt nodded, as he proceeded to kiss her forehead softly. "Gabby, remember what I told you. You understood me from the moment we got together. Hallie never understood me the way you do. And that's why I call you the love of my life, and that's never going to change. The connection we have, and the children we share. That's forever baby, and you have nothing to worry about when it comes out marriage; as this is forever, until death do us part." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, loving the sound of them being together until they die in each other's arms.
After which, she turned her head and looked up at the man she loves. "I love you." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before bending down and kissing her softly; he then took things nice and slow with the woman he loves as a way to make sure that she knows just how much he loves her. "Gabby, I love you. And that's never going to change. I almost lost you this year baby, and…" Taking a breath, Matt looked at his wife. "There were times where I wondered whether we made the wrong decision in having kids." Gabby was shocked as she heard Matt say that. "Baby, no." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, as that's how he feels. "Well, I used to. But now that we're safe, I think that it'll get better. But we just need to remember that this is forever, because I don't want to live without you." Gabby smiled as she heard her loving husband say that, as that's something that she really loves the idea of.
Another thing she loves the idea of them having the place to themselves tonight. "We get the place to ourselves tonight, right?" Matt smirked and agreed with Gabby, as they most certainly do get the house to themselves tonight. "I already have one ready." Confused, Gabby looked up at the man she loves as she wanted answers. "What are you…" Matt smirked as he looked at Gabby. "A nice bath, just for the two of us." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that's exactly what she wants to do later; she wants to take a bath with the man she loves. "Or we can do it tomorrow morning and do something else instead." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that. "Something related to this?" Rolling over on top of his wife, Matt smirked as he bent down and kissed her; after which, he bent down and started to kiss her neck. Meanwhile, Gabby put her hand on the side of his face and moaned as that was really hot. "Oh baby."
Smirking as he heard Gabby say that, Matt teased her by pulling away and moving his hand to her neck; after which, he leaned his forehead against hers and smiled as he put his hand on her neck and stroked her cheek. "I promise you right here, right now; that you're my forever, and that you will be my wife until the end of my life." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before staring into his eyes. "Do me a favor?" Matt agreed with Gabby. "Can you kiss me for a bit?" Matt agreed with Gabby as she asked him that question, before starting to take things nice and slow with the woman he loves; after all, he had a feeling that she was going to need this for a bit. A bit of him showing her that he loves her. "I love you Gabby, and you're going to feel my love tonight." Gabby smirked as she heard Matt say that, as that most certainly is something that she wants to have later. "I love that idea."
Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that. "And I love you, forever." Gabby nodded, as she feels the same way; so much so, that she started to kiss him and actually thought that maybe they could go pretty far. That was, until they were disturbed. Turning their heads, they saw it was Stella. "Oh shit, I thought this was the boys' nursery. Your mom…" Matt laughed as he went ahead and climbed off of Gabby. That way, he can do it for her. "Here, you going to spend time with Stella?" Gabby agreed with Matt. "I'll talk to her about what Sylvie said." Matt agreed. "Maybe you can get a design out of it." Gabby and Stella then both looked at each other, as that was perfect. "Are you think what I'm thinking?" Stella smirked. "A he's mine/revenge dress line?" Gabby laughed and agreed with Stella.
"God, we have so many ideas and so many lines. Baby, how about you get to work while me and Stella get to work on a recap."
Matt agreed with Gabby. "Maybe you take it easy for a bit, and maybe fill Stella in on what she's been missing when it comes to work. We made a lot of changes to the line. Oh, show her what I showed you." Gabby smirked. "You mean the Times Square-New York City Taxi deal?" Stella was confused as she heard Gabby say that. "What Times Square-New York City Taxi deal?" Matt then proceeded to walk away so that he could get to work, while Stella turned to look at Gabby so that she could ask him the question again.
"I am not going to repeat myself again. What Times Square-New York City Taxi deal?"
