On January 13th, Lucy goes to get Luke's anniversary cake, taking Luke with her. Luke hissed.
"You ok?" Lucy asked.
"My anniversary is very soon!" Luke shouted.
"I know, but the stores will be closed soon, so I want to order it by mail so it arrives on time." Lucy tells Luke, who looked annoyed.
They soon enter the bakery.
"Luke, you can go home." Lucy says. Luke leaves.
On January 16th, Lucy came in with Luke's anniversary breakfast.
"Happy Anniversary, Luke." Lucy says. Luke takes the breakfast and eats it.
Lucy smiled as Luke ate his breakfast.
After that, Lucy took Luke out. But Luke wasn't having much fun.
"Are you okay?" Lucy asked.
"I'm fine, I guess." Luke says.
Meanwhile, the others decorate for Luke's 5th performance anniversary.
"Like Luke said, one mistake, we're all disowned from his family." Lisa says.
They put the balloons up and even put some balloon bunches around the house.
Lana paints the party room walls Arctic blue.
"I hope this works." Lana says.
Lucy took Luke skating and he was enjoying it. Then they make a snowman.
Luke is smiling at this.
After a while, he walks home. There were decorations on the door and his picture was there as well. He opens the door.
Everyone came out. "Surprise! Happy Anniversary, Luke!" They cheer.
Luke was surprised by the decorations and the walls in his favorite color. There was food, gifts, a toy house, and a ball pit.
The party started with Ronnie Anne and Luke dancing around, smiling.
Soon, it was gift time as Luke opens Lucy's gift. It was a framed Grease movie poster. He loves this movie.
"Thank you!" Luke says.
Lucy smiled. Luna's gift was next.
It was tickets to his favorite Broadway show as Luke grinned.
Leni made him a suit, which he put on. Luke makes a grand entrance with the suit on as everyone cheered and clapped.
"Looking good, sweetie!" Charity says.
Luke smiles and opens Lincoln's gift. It was new video games.
After that, Luke and Ronnie Anne go skateboarding as Luke had fun.
Luke smiles once he comes back in.
It was soon photoshoot time. But he just looked away.
"Luke, what's wrong?" Lucy asked.
"I DON'T WANT IT!" Luke shouts.
"Okay, okay, we won't do it right now." Lucy says, nervous about ruining it.
Luke broke the pinata before it was time, and just took his candy silently.
He found out that Oliver was having his anniversary party today, and he wasn't happy about it.
"His anniversary is a different day. Excuse me" Lola says and goes to the bathroom.
It didn't make any difference when it was. Luke was still mad.
Lucy was nervous now. She had to make Luke's party better than Oliver's party. Lucy was panicking; she knew if she failed, Luke would hate her.
Lola snuck to Oliver's party. "Time for gifts…" Lola says with a grin as she slowly lights a flame on some paper and leaves.
Lola came and gave Luke a crown. Luke sniffed.
"It's okay, Luke. I'll try to be a better sibling." Lola says.
Lucy's stomach hit rock bottom as she decided to not tell anyone anything.
Soon, the lights went off. Luke cried, thinking his siblings ditched him when the lights came on. There was a nice big anniversary cake with an edible sash on it. It says "Happy 5th Anniversary, Luke!" in Arctic blue icing.
"I like the sash…." Luke sniffed as he wondered where the siblings went.
The lights finally lit up as the siblings popped up with 5 trays of cupcakes.
Luke smiled at this. Soon, the siblings and some of Luke's friends sang an anniversary song to Luke as he smiled. He could hardly believe this was all for him.
They soon finish. Luke wishes for his grandmother to get better from her sickness as he blew out the candles as everyone cheered.
The next day, Lucy grumbled walking to the bathroom and pushed Lola and Lana down.
"Hey!" Lana says.
"Shut it, door locker!" Lucy hissed.
Luke was already out of the house and going to the next Hitmaker tour stop without the siblings.
The siblings were trying to make it to the bus.
"Why would Luke leave us? Doesn't he need our support?" Leni asked.
"His mind reverts to bad moments and last night, we fell asleep late. So, if we catch up, we can talk to him." Lisa says as they make it just in time.
"Luke, please talk to us! Are you okay?" Luna asked.
"You guys are going to fake your support!" Luke screamed.
"No, we're not! We love you!" Leni says.
The bus soon makes it to Great Lakes City. Luke gets off of it and heads off to the theater to rehearse.
Luna followed him. "Can't we talk?" Luna asked.
"Luke will always hate….Luke never had happy times on his days…." Luke says to himself.
"I can hear you. Wasn't your birthday fun? I mean the one Lucy gave you. Plus, wasn't yesterday fun?" Luna asked Luke, who nodded.
"Oh, you're mad about that. Yeah, I'm upset too. Lucy must have figured it out. Listen, taking out your anger on people is wrong. Promise me you'll talk to someone if you feel hurt." Luna says.
"Fine. I promise." Luke says.
Lucy was still upset as the siblings tried to cheer her up, but Lucy wasn't having it, even biting Leni. Leni told Charity.
"Lucy, sweetie, what happened?" Charity asked.
Lucy sighed.
Flashback
One nice day in May, Luke was relaxing in his room when Lynn barged in.
"Hey, Luke, I need you to attend my game." Lynn says.
Luke looks at Lynn. "Why should I?" Luke asks her.
"You've skipped most of them and this is the semifinal game before the state finals." Lynn says.
"No!" Luke says as Lynn raises her baseball bat.
"You better come this time!" Lynn says. "Or I will hurt you with my bat!"
"Fine, I will!" Luke says.
After the game, Lynn screamed as she lost.
"This is your fault, Luke! You're bad luck!" Lynn says.
"My fault?! What did I do?!" Luke asked.
"I was on a big winning streak! But, on the day you finally come to a game, I end up losing!" Lynn says. "Unlucky Luke!"
"I hope this doesn't go too far…" Luke says.
A few nights later, Luke was forced to sleep outside.
"Hey! What gives?!" Luke screams.
"You're bad luck!" Lola says.
"Wait!" Lucy says, but no one other than Luna listens.
Lola slammed the door on Luke.
It started to rain outside.
Luke begins to sob. "Let Luke in…" Luke says.
As soon as everyone is asleep, Luke is let in by Lucy. Lucy leads Luke to the attic and puts him to bed, using an air mattress. Luke soon falls asleep.
Lucy sighed.
The next morning, Lucy wakes up to see Lola dragging Luke downstairs.
"Let him go!" Luna says as Lola tossed Luke out of the house.
"Why did you do that?!" Luna asked.
"He's bad luck!" Lola says and slammed the door on Luke's hand. Luke screamed and sobbed before freeing his hand.
Luke begins to cry outside.
"Luke wants to be inside!" Luke sobbed.
Lucy sighed, explaining it.
"Oh, honey…." Charity says as she holds Lucy.
"I couldn't even help him because of Lynn's sports. I got sick and I couldn't even give him an anniversary party. Once I tried but…but.." Lucy says and opened up more of her face behind her hair as there was a scar with a baseball bat mark. Charity gasped.
"I'm a horrible sister." Lucy sniffed.
"No, honey, you aren't. Luke loves you and Luna so much…." Charity says. "And he's opened up to more of the siblings, but he has his share of anger issues sometimes, too."
Charity looks at the mark.
"Please stop!" Lucy says, pushing her back, feeling uncomfortable. But Charity grabs Lucy's hands.
Soon, it's showtime, but Luke isn't feeling ready.
Charity came to Luke. "Honey, I talked to Lucy and she said some things. Is it true?" Charity asked.
"What are you talking about?" Luke asked.
Charity wasn't sure if she should say it, but decided to keep it for later.
Lucy finds her siblings "Sorry I got mad." Lucy says and walks to Luna, feeling she could trust Luna.
Luke shatters his dressing table mirror and hisses at the pieces.
Luna came in. "What's wrong?" Luna asked, holding the goth's hand.
Luke looks over at the other dressing tables where the other contestants got good-luck gifts and goodies and his jealousy begins to set in. He then storms away from his broken mirror table and leaves the area. He knew how unloved he felt.
Luna tells the siblings to buy Luke goodies as they nod and soon return with as many goodies and gifts as they could get. Luke came back a few minutes later.
"Surprise!" The siblings say holding gifts and goodies. Luke looks at it all.
There was a white chocolate sculpture of Luke in the center of it all.
"You like it?" Lana asked.
Luke didn't know what to say.
Soon, the show began. Luke just watched Oliver as he performed.
Oliver performed "Forget You" by Cee Lo Green, the crowd really loving it. Luke gasped and just looked away. Oliver had stolen the song he was going to do.
Luke feels unconfident now. Lucy pats his back.
"What song will I do now?" Luke asked.
Lucy thinks about this. Luke just gets up.
"I got an idea…." Luna says and whispered to him so no one could steal it.
"You have my permission to use it." Luna says to Luke.
Soon, Luke went on stage. People cheered as he sang "Play It Loud".
Some girls fainted as Luke sang and did a guitar solo.
Luna smiled as Luke got a standing ovation.
"Way to go!" Luna says.
Luke got the platinum button, which made him smile.
Soon Luke heads backstage, being met by Luna, who is smiling at him.
"What?" Luke asked.
"You did great!" Luna says.
"Whatever…." Luke says.
"Why are you mad? You were amazing out there!" Luna says.
Luke smiled a bit.
The results were in. This was a semifinals show, so Luke was nervous.
Oliver was still in. And so was Luke.
Rita smiled proudly as Luke looked away.
