Backdraft was a firefighter and a hero. Sometimes, he put more emphasis on the former than the latter.
With a quirk like his, Backdraft really hadn't had many career options. He didn't want to spend life as some water park attraction, but he also didn't desire to do harm with his water cannon hands. Getting hired on at the Musutafu Fire Department seemed a good compromise; getting a hero license was more him just fulfilling another aspect of his job. Still, it wasn't a hero agency despite its workers routinely saving people. Did he don a uniform or costume daily?
