Chapter Three Hundred and Sixty-Two
Happy Birthday Daddy, Part Three: Four Weeks
"Speaking of our kids, the boys turn one in four weeks." -Gabby Casey
His little boys turn one in four weeks, now that was a statement that made Matt's head spin as it was still something he didn't believe. That his little boys, the boys that were so little when they were born; were turning a year old in four weeks. Twenty-eight days. Now that was something that Matt really blew his mind. "Wow, now if that statement doesn't blow my mind." Gabby snickered as she heard Matt say that, while leaning her forehead against his. After which, she leaned in and kissed her loving husband softly. And boy did Matt love the fact that Gabby just kissed him, as he loves the sweet feeling of her lips on his; so much so, that he just moved his hand to her neck. After which, he leaned in and proceeded to kiss her again. "God, I love the feeling of your lips on mine." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, well aware that was the case; after all they are experts in kissing each other.
How do you think that they got to having four beautiful children? As every single round of sex that led to them getting pregnant, started with a sweet kiss that they both always enjoy with each other. "Well, that's probably due to the fact that I'm the only woman you love kissing; and the only woman that you're allowed to kiss." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, before tugging her body against his more and moving to kiss her again. "Well, I love the fact that my lips belong to yours. They just fit so well together, and there's nothing better than the feeling of them on mine." Gabby agreed with Matt, before deciding to bring the topic of conversation back to what they were talking about; and that would be how Matteo and Noah turn one in four weeks. "So, are you sad that you aren't going to be able to give the boys the party that you've always wanted to give you first child?" Matt sighed, agreeing with Gabby.
After all, celebrating their sons' first birthday in the middle of a pandemic is something that the couple never expected; nor could anybody really expect how to celebrate this. "Okay, let's just start with this. Let's take a breath." Gabby was confused as she heard her husband say that, until he told her to take a breath again. "Breathe." Gabby agreed with her loving husband, before doing just that for him; after all, she doesn't want to make the birthday boy mad. "Ok. Can you please explain why you asked me to breathe?" Matt smiled at his wife. "I know that this is going to be a hard topic, filled with a bunch of emotions; especially since we're also going to have to talk about the pandemic." Gabby agreed with her husband again. "Yeah, a topic that we've been avoiding like the plague." And that's when Gabby realized what she just said, and how that most certainly was not the right term for them to use in this scenario.
"I'm sorry about that, that definitely was not the term that I should've used in this scenario."
Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, as that most certainly is the truth. "Hey, it's okay. We need to get used to what we can say. We need to retool our vocabulary and figure out just what we can and can't say." Gabby took a breath, before turning to look at their kids. "And we're going to have to figure out just how we're going to have to explain this to our kids." Matt shook his head as he heard Gabby say that, as that wasn't the truth; their children are too young to understand, so they shouldn't waste time on thinking about that. "Ok. Let's not think about that right now. Right now, the kids are extremely young; and we don't need to worry about that as this may be over before they can even realize what happens. Plus, it's not like they haven't been isolating from the outside world their entire lives." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, as that was the truth when it came to how protective they are of their kids.
And that makes her wonder whether they're being too overprotective of their children. "Do you think that we're being overprotective of our children?" Stroking Gabby's cheek with his thumb, Matt shook his head as he didn't believe that they were being overprotective of their children. "Gabby, I will protect our children from the outside world the way I have each and every day. If I had to go back and change any decisions that we made when it came to protecting our children, I wouldn't do that. Especially in my situation." Gabby was confused as Matt said that, unsure of what exactly he meant by that. "Okay, what do you mean by that?" Matt sighed. "Babe, I'm still haunted by the way the media treated us right after we brought the boys home; and that's the thing that I want to avoid for the rest of our lives." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that most certainly is something that she wants to do as well; protect their children.
Protect them from the outside world, and the media especially. "And you did a formidable job when it came to that." Matt agreed with Gabby, well aware that she said that. After which, he put his hand on her side and leaned in to kiss her again. "OK. So, are we going to go back to what we were talking about before this stress came about? The fact that our beautiful sons turn a year old in four weeks?" Gabby smiled as Matt asked her that, as she most certainly does want that. "Well, I think we both know that I am going to want to have some family here." Matt sighed as he looked at Gabby. "I know, and that's the part that worries me. I mean, don't get me wrong…I trust your family but…" Matt sighed. "Gabby, Diego has already tested positive for COVID-19, and we are just weeks into the pandemic." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case; and that was quite scary right now.
"Yeah, that's not really something that I like to think about already."
Matt agreed with his wife, well aware that was the case. After all, what aunt would want to think about how her nephew has COVID-19. "Baby, I know that. I completely understand how you feel, as I feel the same way about Diego. This is the last thing that I wanted for our family." Gabby agreed with Matt, well aware that was the case. "Hey, I don't want you to think that I am accusing you of anything." Matt nodded as he moved his hand to her arm and stroked it with his thumb, while also leaning in and kissing her softly. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that he loves her, as that most certainly is something that she knows. "I love you too, and I'm glad we're in this together." Matt nodded, not that she really had anything to worry about when it came to that. "Oh, we were always going to be in this together. That's what being husband-and-wife and parents together means." Gabby agreed with Matt.
She then looked at their children, who were quite adorable as they played with each other. "I swear, all of our kids are so adorable." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that. "I especially like the fact that our children are mixed-race. It's the perfect combination of the two of us." Gabby agreed with her husband, before laughing. "We still need to get our first family picture." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case. "I can't wait for that. My baby girls all dressed up in adorable dresses, and our sons wearing something adorable." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "Maybe we can do it in the spring or summer, when we can do it outside. We can do it in the backyard, out by the trees we have. But with our backs to the trees." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, loving the idea of that. "Well, I love that idea." Gabby nodded, smirking due to the fact that she loves it when they agree.
After which, she turned her head and looked up at the man she loves; moving her hand to his neck again, Gabby turned Matt's head and smiled at him. Bending down after she turned his head, Matt smirked as he proceeded to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you." Gabby smiled, well aware that was the case. "I love you too, and you don't need to tell me that all the time." Gabby smirked, and just agreed with Matt; well aware that was the case. But that doesn't mean that she's not going to say it anytime she can. Just like some of their friends are also going to take whatever chance they have to say happy birthday. And that's probably what one of them want to do right now, as she just heard Matt's phone ring. "Of course, people want to disturb us right when we're all cuddled up to each other like this." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, smiling at her this morning.
"Babe, it's my birthday. And we both know that we're going to get a lot of calls from our friends and family today."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "You mean the people that we're going to invite to the boys' birthday party?" Matt agreed. "Maybe just our family?" Gabby agreed with Matt once more, as that most certainly is who they are going to invite to the boys' birthday party; they're only going to invite their family, as they are the people that they can trust the most. "Well, I think we both know that those are the people that we trust the most." Gabby agreed with her husband, before proceeding to roll over to see who was calling him. And it just so happened to be someone that he wants to talk to right now, and that would be Christie. "Christie." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that he wants to talk to his sister. "Then answer, so that we can say hi to your sister." Matt agreed with the woman he loves, before proceeding to answer the call that he was receiving from his sister.
Laughing a bit as he spoke to his sister on speakerphone this morning, Matt was just really happy at the moment as he spoke to Christie. "So, I hope you know that I am not going to be getting involved in that today." Christie laughed. "I know, I figured that much." Gabby then added on. "Or maybe in general. I know that Matt is going to do what he wants, but I already asked him to not get involved in this due to the fact that he has a lot of things already going on. He has four children, PTSD, and he's the CEO." Christie agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case; she knows that her brother is a very busy man when it comes to work. "I know, I know. And I also know that you don't want to talk about business right now." Matt agreed with Christie as she said that, as that most certainly is the truth; he doesn't want to talk about business on his birthday. His first as a father.
"Yeah. I would rather not think about work right now, as it's my first birthday as a father."
Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, loving the fact that it's his first birthday as a father; and even better, she's the one that made him a father. And that's something that she's always wanted. She's always wanted to make Matt a father, and that's exactly what she ended up doing when she gave birth to the boys. She made Matt a father, and boy is he a great father; he's the best father in the entire world in her opinion. And she considers all of her children lucky to have such a great man as their father. And she's even luckier to have him as her husband, as he's also the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "So, what are you guys doing today?" Matt laughed. "We're just laying down in bed and holding each other close right now." Gabby agreed with Matt, before deciding to push him onto his back; after which she crawled on top of him and just laid down on his toned chest.
Which is something that they both love doing, cuddling up to each other in bed with Gabby on Matt's toned chest. And that's exactly what she's in the midst of doing right now. She's cuddling up to her husband, as they spoke to his sister. "So, how are you doing right now when it comes to stress levels in all of this?" Matt sighed as he hoped to not talk about that right now. "Preferably, I would rather not talk about that." Turning the volume on his phone up some more, Matt proceeded to set his phone down on their bed before moving his hand to Gabby's back and running his fingers up and down her back. Turning his head, Matt smiled as he kissed her forehead and then went to unclip her bra. The bra that he wanted to take off right now. Turning her head, Gabby nodded as that was exactly what she wanted him to do. She wanted him to take off her bra, and just hold her close on his muscular chest.
So, Matt did as he was told to do; he took off her bra and then set it to the side. Meanwhile, Gabby wrapped her arms around his toned chest and just laid her head down on his chest. At the same time, Matt moved his hand to her back and rubbed it (while also running his wedding band up and down her back). Bending down to kiss Matt's chest, Gabby smirked as she loved the feeling of his wedding band on her back; especially since Matt knew that this is exactly what they both want to do right now. They want to hold each other close, and just want to cuddle up to each other on his birthday; after which, Matt proceeded to tug the covers up on top of the both of them some more. "But I can tell you this, I need to relax and take it easy." Christie agreed with Matt as he said that. "Are you going to take leave from the company?" Turning his head, Matt bit his lip as he wondered whether she wanted him to.
"No, you can keep working next week; or when you feel like you're ready to get back to work."
Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, before kissing her forehead once more. "Maybe next week I'll go back to work. I want this week to relax and take it easy. But next week, we can get back to it once everybody has gotten their technology all set up." Christie agreed with her brother as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah, I know what you mean. They are going to need to set all of their technology up and running, ahead of them really getting back to work." Matt agreed with his sister as she said that, well aware that was the case. "We'll figure it out, and I have Rafael Solano and Gabriel Adams dealing with that with the assistance of David Isaacs and Jamie Mars in Los Angeles, and Adam Michaels and Michelle Rhodes here in Chicago." Christie agreed with her brother, as that most certainly is something that he's on top of. "Even on your time off, you're on top of the company." Matt agreed with his sister.
After all, he does feel responsible for the company even when he takes time off. "Yeah, because I still feel responsible for the company even when I'm taking time off right now." Christie agreed with her brother as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Well, remember that you need to take time off and just relax brother. Especially today on your birthday, which is why I am making sure that I am taking care of the company right now." Matt agreed with his sister, glad that was the case. "Thank you so much Christie, and I am just so happy that this is what I'm in the midst of doing right now; as it allows me to relax and just take it easy with the woman I love and all of our beautiful children." Christie agreed. "How are the kids anyways?" Matt smiled. "Honestly, they have no idea when it comes to the difference in just what's happening around them right now." Christie understood exactly what her brother meant.
Especially when it came to his children, who have been very protected since they were born. "I just have to say that I think that you guys are doing the right thing in protecting those kids, as they need to be protected from the outside world at this age." Matt agreed with his sister as she said that, well aware that was the case. And it was the entire reason behind them doing this and protecting their beautiful children. "And that's why we're doing this right now. Just taking it easy and protecting them, just like our friends are doing in Chicago." Christie then realized something. "Right, I keep forgetting the fact that you and mom don't live in Chicago." Matt agreed with Christie as she said that, as that most certainly is the truth. "And we love it out here." Christie agreed with her brother. "Remind me why you guys decided to live way out there, rather than live here in the city close to me and Violet?" Gabby sighed.
"It's for Matt's mental health. His PTSD. We think it might be better to be away from the CFD sirens."
Christie then realized that. "Oh god, that makes so much sense now! I wondered why it was the case, but hearing you say that just makes way more sense; and I can completely understand why you want that. But it isn't that bad yet, just to let you know; at least not like it is in Europe or New York City." Gabby agreed with her sister-in-law, glad that was the case. "Right. But listen, I would rather not think about this due to the fact that it might make Matt get worried or agitated about it." Gabby then proceeded to cuddle up to Matt some more, while also leaving a soft kiss on his neck (and whispering to him). "You okay?" Matt agreed with his wife as she asked him whether he was okay, as he most certainly was okay. After which, he turned his head and leaned in to kiss the woman he loves softly. And let's just say that Christie didn't like the sound of that. "Hello, here on the phone…" Matt then decided to end the call.
Because right now, he wants something from his wife. "Did you just…" Matt smirked as he went ahead and moved to set his phone down on his side table once more, before rolling over on top of Gabby. "Oh, I most certainly did." Moving her hands to Matt's face, Gabby smirked as she leaned in and proceeded to kiss the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "Your sister is going to kill you for doing that." Matt shook his head, as that most certainly isn't something that his sister is going to do. But there is something that he's going to do, and it's not kiss his wife; because right now his daughters need him. "Oh c'mon!" Laughing as she heard her husband say that, Gabby just smiled as she kissed him quickly. "Can you get the girls for me babe?" Matt agreed with his wife, as he most certainly can. "I'll give you one of them, no complaining which one." Gabby agreed with Matt.
After all, it is his birthday; and that means that he gets to choose which one of their children he gets to feed. "We need to feed the boys after." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, before thinking about it. "Maybe you take care of the girls, and I'll get the boys some snacks?" And as if it was magic, it seemed like Camila already knew what they needed. "Or you can let me take care of getting food for your boys." Turning to look at Camila, Matt smiled; that was, until he realized that he was just wearing his boxers.
Walking out of his closet in sweats after getting dressed this morning, Matt smiled as he looked at Gabby before throwing her some of his sweats; and let's just say that Gabby was not the biggest fan of him doing that when she was Bella as she fed her. "HEY!" Matt smirked as he looked at his beautiful wife. "Oh shut up, don't act like you don't like it when I play with you." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, before looking around to see that Sofia wasn't in her crib. "Where's Sof?" Gabby smiled. "My mom took her to the sitting area to feed her, hope that's okay?" Matt agreed with his wife. "I can do one of the boys then, right after I go see my little girl. Did they wake up on their own?" Gabby shook her head. "No, we had to wake them up." Matt agreed with his wife as she told him that they had to wake the girls up, before walking towards Camila in the sitting area, where she was currently feeding Sofia.
"Sorry if I stole Sofia to feed her."
Matt shook his head, as it was fine. "No, it's okay. Just means that I can get a bit of guy time with my little boys. Right after I steal a kiss from my baby girl." Bending down once he walked up to Camila, Matt smiled as he kissed Sofia's forehead softly. "Hi baby girl, daddy loves you and he's going to hold you in a bit." Camila smiled as she heard her son-in-law say that, nodding. "You can burp her." Matt laughed. "Next time, I can feed her. I'm going to start feeding one of the boys." And that was when Matt heard his own mother walk into the primary suite. "Care for some help with the boys?" Smiling as he looked at his mom, Matt made his way over to her before hugging her. "You just missed Christie, just called me." Nancy agreed with her son as he said that. "I know, she texted me to tell me that she called and didn't need to be reminded that it was your birthday today." Matt agreed with his mother as she said that.
After which, he started to lead her towards their room. "Here, let's get you feeding Noah; I'm going to feed Matteo in bed." Nancy laughed as she heard her son say that, as she had a feeling that he was going to want to feed Matteo. "Of course, you want to feed Matteo." Matt nodded. "He's my namesake after all." Nancy smiled as he told her that he was her namesake, which is why he wants to feed her. "So listen, I was wondering if you guys wanted to come spend time with us after we feed the kids. I know it's your birthday but…" Turning her head after hearing Nancy say that, Gabby just smiled as she thought that was a great idea for them to go spend time as a family on Matt's birthday. "I think that would be a great idea, as you need to spend time with Matt on your birthday too. Plus, things were getting a bit too heated in here in my opinion." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that right now.
"Didn't see you complaining that was the case."
Walking over to the play pen, Matt smiled as he looked at Matteo. "Hey, you, how about you come with daddy so that he can feed you?" Bending down, Matt proceeded to pick Matteo up in his arms and smiled as he kissed the side of his head. "You want to go have some carrots?" Matteo nodded, as he loved having carrots; after which, Matt proceeded to carry his little boy away to go sit in bed with Gabby. But first, he had to give something to his mom. More specifically, the food that she was going to use to feed Noah. "Oh mom, here…I need to give you this first." Bending down, Nancy proceeded to pick Noah up in her arms; before turning her head and looking at her son. "And what exactly would that be?" Matt smiled as he walked over to her with some baby food and a bottle for Noah. "This is what Noah eats now." Going to grab the baby food, as well as the bottle; Nancy agreed with her son and smiled.
"Sounds perfect. I'll do just that for you Matt."
Matt agreed with his mother as she said that, while also watching her walk away to go feed Noah, while also sitting with Camila in the sitting room of their primary suite. Meanwhile, Matt made his way over to Gabby in their bed with Matteo in his arms. "You okay with going to spend time in the living room after this?" Matt agreed with Gabby, as he most certainly is okay with it. "We were getting too sexy. And maybe if we spend time out there, we can be there until nap time. Then, we can put the kids in their nurseries while our moms take care of them…" Gabby snickered, as she did love that idea as did their mothers. "Matt, we can do that for you." Matt agreed with his mom as she said that, loving that they are going to take care of the kids for them. "Thanks mom." Nancy agreed, smiling as she watched her son get in bed with Matteo this morning; that way he could feed him ahead of some family time.
Which is something similar to what Alex Halstead just did, but instead of some sexy time with her husband, rather than family time.
