A world with quirks means its people are wind up rather quirky. Whether heroes, villains, or somewhere in-between, every BnHA character deserves to have their story told. 68. Nemuri Kayama (Midnight)

A.N. — I wanted to do a spoilery drabble for this character, or focus on her sidekicks, rather than playing up her rather obvious gimmick. But I did neither; I dug into her motivations. Happy birthday, Nemuri Kayama!

68. Nemuri Kayama/Midnight

By all outward appearances, Midnight was the last hero anyone expected UA to hire for a teaching position. But Nemuri Kayama had more layers to herself than all her costumes put together did.

Nemuri's chosen subject, Art History, was largely discounted amongst UA's other offerings. She made her students cognizant that image was an integral part of their success. Female heroes were denigrated, sexualized, and held to standards their male counterparts weren't. From her classroom pulpit, Nemuri preached equality, by whatever means necessary.

They'd tried to hold her down; Nemuri crusaded so her successors didn't face the roadblocks she'd overcome.

A.N. 2 — It's been well over a week (all of March, actually) and ff.n still hasn't fixed their stats. Figured this drabble would get more traffic, so I'd vent here. They're aware of the issue and still doing nothing. Creators, migrate to AO3.
