Chapter Three Hundred and Sixty-Four
Happy Birthday Daddy, Part Four
Casey Home – He had to say, the deal that he just made with his mother was one that he couldn't pass up; if he came to spend time with her and the kids in the living room, then he and Gabby could have some alone time during and after their nap. So, as long as they're out here with them until the kids' nap time; then they would get some alone time with each other, and their mothers would take care of them when they wake up from their naps. And that most certainly was a deal that they couldn't pass up. I mean, it's the best deal in the entire world. As long as they spend a bit of time with their family, then they can get time alone after lunch. So, that's exactly what Matt and Gabby are going to do. They're going to spend some time with their family until lunch, so that they get that time alone after lunch. I mean, what couple can say no to that? But right now, that's not what they're concentrating on.
The time that they can have together is something that they're going to concentrate on later. Right now, they're going to concentrate on the fact that they're currently spending some time with their family. "I'm glad that you came downstairs Matt." Matt laughed as he heard his mom say that, especially since she knows that there was a good reason why he came down here. "What man can say no coming downstairs when presented with such an enticing offer?" Slapping Matt's chest, Gabby looked at her husband. "Remember that time alone with me can only happen if I want time alone with you." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that. "Yeah, because you're going to pass up time alone with me." Gabby shook her head as she heard Matt say that, before walking away so that she can set Bella and Sofia down in their bouncing chairs; but she soon realized that she was going to need some assistance from Matt.
So, she stood up and turned around to face the man she loves. "Matt, can you please set the boys and their toys down? I need some help." Looking up, Matt soon realized that was the case; so, he went ahead and proceeded to carry the boys (and their toys) over to their play pen where they were going to relax with each other. "There you go boys; you guys just relax here and play with each other." Gabby laughed. "The bag?" Matt nodded. "I can do it when we have the girls in the chair." Gabby nodded, until they heard his mom speak to them. "I can do it for the two of you Matt." Turning to look at his mother, Matt got worried. "Just make sure that you take it easy and don't strain your back mom." Nancy agreed with her son as he said that. "I know Matt, I know that I can't strain my back." Matt agreed with his mother as she said that, before going to give the bag of toys to his mother. That way, the boys can play.
"Thanks mom."
Nancy agreed with her son as he said that. "It's no problem Matt. And thanks for your concern with regards to my back." Matt agreed with his mom as she said that, as he will always be concerned when it comes to how she feels. "Mom, I'm always going to be concerned when it comes to your health and wellbeing." Nancy agreed with her son as he said that, well aware that was the case; after all, that's what a son does for his mother. He worries about her health and wellbeing. "Thanks Matt, but I got it; just worry about your family." Matt took a breath but agreed with his mother (reluctantly); something that didn't go unnoticed by Gabby, as she could see that Matt agreed to not worry about her health and wellbeing, and just concentrate on their family. "Take a breath and relax baby." Matt agreed with his wife, before making his way over to the chairs; after which he bent down and set Bella down in her chair.
Turning his head as he set Bella down, Matt made sure to look at his mother one more time to just ensure that she wasn't hurt at the moment; and let's just say that was something that really made Gabby love her husband so much more. The way he has such a big heart for anyone and everybody, it's just the best thing about her husband. He truly does want the best for everybody, which makes her feel so blessed when it comes to how he chose her to be his wife. No that she was his first choice, but that's okay due to the fact that she's his last choice; and the person he chooses to be with each and every day from this day forward. But right now, she needs to snap into it; especially since she's starting to worry her husband, who just placed his hand on her back as he spoke to her. "Hey, you okay Gabby?" Turning her head, Gabby agreed with her husband as she was okay. "Yeah, I'm okay." Matt then stepped close to her.
Putting his hands on her hips, Matt looked down into her eyes and then proceeded to whisper to her as he held her close. "Gabby, you sure? You seemed to space out, especially when I asked you whether you wanted me to get the girls blankets since we forgot them." Putting her hand on Matt's chest, Gabby smiled. "I got them." Gabby then put her hand on Matt's cheek, before kissing him softly; after which, she let go of Matt's hand and walked away to their room so that she could get the girls' blankets. However, that didn't do anything to reassure Matt that she was okay; rather it did the complete opposite. So much so, that he felt like he needed to go be with Gabby in their room; so, he turned to look at his mom, and just looked at her with concern in his eyes. And just seeing that was everything that Nancy needed to see, to tell her that she needed to let her son go be with his wife, which she told him by nodding.
"Thanks mom."
Shaking her head, Nancy didn't need to be thanked when it came to her watching her grandchildren when he needs to go talk to his wife; especially when she knew that he would just be worried for her the entire time that she was gone. "Matt, I can see that you're worried; so, go ahead and take care of her right now." Matt agreed with his mother as she walked up to him, before hugging her and smiling. "Did I ever tell you that you're a great mom and grandmother?" Nancy agreed with her son as he said that, before hugging him. "Go ahead and take care of your wife, okay?" Matt agreed with his mom, before going to do just that. After all, he was quite worried; as she hasn't done that in a while, just spaced out while they were taking care of the girls. So, he just hopes that Gabby's okay right now. And if she isn't, then he would hope that she would talk to him and tell him what's going on with her.
Walking into his and Gabby's room, Matt looked at his wife as she stood at Bella and Sofia's cribs and proceeded to grab the things that they were going to need when they are just out there being taken care of by their moms. But first, Matt needed to talk to Gabby, which is why he just closed the door behind him. "Gabby?" Turning to look at Matt, Gabby jumped as he startled her. "God, you startled me." Matt took a breath, agreeing with Gabby as that most certainly is exactly what he did. "And you scared me while spaced out while we were still out there." Walking up to his wife, Matt then proceeded to grab her hand as he stood close to her. "What happened out there babe? You okay?" Stepping close to Matt, Gabby wrapped her arm around his back and looked up at him. "I just took a moment to admire just how great of a husband and father you are." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that.
After which, he wrapped his arms around her and just held his beautiful wife close. "I'm sorry that I scared you though." Moving his hand onto the side of Gabby's head, Matt shook his head as that wasn't something that she needed to worry about; if she needs to sit down, then she should sit down and take it easy. "Look into my eyes okay?" Gabby agreed with Matt, doing just that. "Are you okay? Because if you need to sit down and take it easy, then we can do that rather than spend time with our moms." Moving his hands to Gabby's sides, Matt just held the woman he loves close to her, which prompted Gabby to shake her head as she was okay. "I'm okay." Matt just took a breath as he looked at his wife as she said that, before kissing her forehead softly. "Sorry, I am just…" Matt then looked at Gabby. "I guess it scared me, and I think that it's just everything that's going on right now." Gabby agreed with Matt.
Because she also knew exactly what he was talking about, he was worrying about everything; from their own health to the business and everything. And while he shouldn't be worrying about the business right now, he can't help himself due to the fact that he has a lot riding on the line; this is their livelihood they are talking about, which also means that it could lead to a lot of jobs being lost. "Matt, be honest with me. Are we bringing the boys to the living room so that we can spend time with our moms, or would you rather sit in here with me so that we can talk?" Matt shook his head, as that was not what he wanted to do; he wanted to be with his mom right now. "I want to spend part of my birthday with my mom, but we can talk about it later okay? I just wanted to make sure that you were okay right now." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, well aware that he was worried right now.
"Listen, I'm sorry for worrying you."
Matt shook his head as Gabby apologized for worrying him, because she can never make him stop worrying about her. She's his wife, and he'll always worry about her. So much so, that he decided to tug her body against his chest and kiss her softly. "I think we both know that I'll never stop worrying about you because you're my wife, and I love you more than anything in the entire world." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, before wrapping her arms around his neck and holding him close; after which Matt wrapped his arms around her waist and smiled due to the fact that he loves holding the woman he loves close to her. "You want to go spend time with our family? Our would you rather rest and take it easy right now?" Gabby took a breath, before hearing her mom at the door to their room. "Gabby, are you okay?" Turning their heads, Matt and Gabby both looked at Camila as she stood at the door of their room.
"I'm sorry, I just got…"
Matt shook his head, well aware that she was concerned. "No, it's okay Camila; I know that you're concerned for your daughter too." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, smiling at her mother. "I promise, I'm fine mom." Matt then wrapped his arm around her and put his hand on her back. He then proceeded to get close to her, and whispered into her ear: "Listen, I know that you want to spend time with family; but I would prefer it if you went to lay down for a moment, as you're really worrying me." Wrapping her arm around Matt, Gabby agreed with her husband, who then turned his head and kissed her forehead softly. "I'll go get you a snack, then we can just take it easy okay? I promise, it'll all be okay." Gabby agreed with her husband, before turning around and walking away to go to their bed where she was going to relax for Matt; meanwhile, Matt let out a sigh as he looked at Camila this morning.
"She okay?"
Taking a breath, Matt shrugged. "I just want her to take it easy and relax. Not sure what we're going to do when it comes to being downstairs, but she's got me worried now; and I'm starting to wonder if it's due to the fact that she has a lot on her mind at the moment." Camila looked at her son-in-law as he said that, while wondering if he was talking about the pandemic. "Are you talking about the pandemic?" Matt sighed. "I want to say that she's okay, and I wish I could stay that she's okay. But right now, I just have no clue what just happened; and I think that I need to just take a minute with her if that's okay." Camila agreed with her son-in-law as he said that, as that was more than okay. "Matt, that's more than okay." Matt agreed with Camila, smiling at her. "Listen, let me bring this blanket out to you guys; and then I can get me and Gabby something to eat as we relax in here for a bit." Camila agreed.
"I'll go start something, tell Gabby that you guys are going to relax in here for a while."
Matt agreed with his mother-in-law as she said that, while watching her walk away so that she can go be with the kids in the living room; meanwhile, he walked over towards the more intimate part of his and Gabby's bedroom where they're going to spend a bit of time with each other soon. And he just hopes that she's okay with that. He wants her to take it easy and just relax for a bit, due to what just happened; it really worried him, and he thinks it'll do her some good if she just laid down and took it easy with him for a bit. "Hey Gabby?" Turning to look at her husband as she was about to get in bed, Gabby nodded. "Don't worry, I already heard everything that you and my mom spoke about." Matt sighed as he looked at Gabby, nodding. "Do you understand why?" Gabby agreed with Matt as she stood next to their bed, which prompted Matt to make his way over to her, while also setting the blankets on their bed.
Helping Gabby into bed after getting close to her, Matt smiled as he watched her get comfortable and just take it easy; yet at the same time, he was still concerned. "You sure that you're okay babe?" Gabby sighed. "I think I'm still dealing with it all." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, while also getting closer to her and putt his hand on the bed next to her. At the same time, Gabby sat up and adjusted the pillow whilst grabbing Matt's hand; intertwining their fingers in the process, she made sure to look into his eyes as a way to show the man she loves that she's okay. "I promise, I'm okay." Matt just looked at Gabby. "Sorry, I just…I got worried." Gabby agreed. "Gaby, we've been safe. I don't have…" Matt was shocked as he heard Gabby say that, as that was not what he was thinking about. "Oh god Gabby, that's not where my head is at right now." Gabby agreed with Matt, glad that was the case.
But still, that made her wonder where his head was at. "Then where is it?" Matt sighed as he looked at Gabby. "I haven't seen that look in your eyes since…" Gabby then realized when he was talking about, and that would be when she gave birth to the kids. "When I gave birth." Matt agreed with Gabby, as that was exactly when he was talking about. "And I know, you aren't pregnant; and I know that you didn't get into a fight, and it was just memories but…" Putting her hand on Matt's cheek, Gabby stared into his eyes. "Hey, take a breath and look at me." Matt agreed with Gabby as he put his hand on her arm and stroked it with his thumb; after which he leaned in and kissed her softly. "I just worry." Gabby agreed with Matt, well aware that was the case. "And that's why you need time to take this all in, time where you aren't working." Matt sighed, well aware that was the case. And maybe that's another reason he needs time.
Time where it's just the two of them. "I can't help but wonder whether that's another reason why I need time with you, time where we can talk. I mean, we did talk when the kids where here but…" Rubbing Matt's hand, Gabby already knew that he was talking about. "We weren't 100% concentrated on each other, as we were also looking at the kids." Matt sighed. "And I think at the same time, I was also thinking both in terms of family and business, which is something that I shouldn't have done." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, clearly able to see the regret that he has in his eyes. "I can see the regret you have in your eyes right now." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, while grabbing her hand and intertwining their fingers. "Sorry that this is how we're spending my birthday." Gabby shook her head, as that wasn't something that he needed to say as he was the one that got to choose how they spend today.
And that's due to the fact that it's his birthday. "Baby, it's your birthday; that means that you get to choose how you spend your day. If you want to spend it with me, then you get to spend it with me; and you can also spend time with the kids too. We had time with the kids, now we can spend time together as husband and wife." Matt agreed with Gabby, as that was exactly what he wanted to do right now. He wanted to sit in bed with her, as they took some time to be husband and wife; that way they can take it easy and breathe. "We also need to take Andy out at some point." Gabby agreed with Matt. "Then do you want to do that first? We can take a walk, and then we can come be in here for a bit?" Matt thought about it, before realizing that they could just run him in the backyard. "We could probably just run him in the backyard with his ball." Gabby laughed. "OK. Be honest with me, what do you want?" Matt smirked.
"I want to lay down in bed, with you wearing the lingerie I know you bought for me as a birthday gift."
Moving her hands to Matt's face, Gabby nodded as she kissed her loving husband softly. "No sex." Matt agreed. "And I think our moms are going to be okay with this." Hearing that from the door, Nancy Casey agreed with her son. "I heard what happened with Gabby. And if you want us to take care of the kids, then you got it. Spend some time with your wife." Turning to face his mother, Matt smiled. "And you're positive that you're okay with it?" Nancy agreed. "I know that you want to spend time alone with Gabby today too." Matt agreed with Gabby, as he most certainly does. "By the way, when did Camila get here?" Nancy sighed. "She had a fight with Ramon, she asked to stay with me; didn't want to disturb you on your birthday." Gabby just looked at her mother-in-law as she said that. After which, she turned to look at Matt. "Can you…" Matt nodded, before getting up and leaning down to kiss her forehead softly.
"I'll send your mom in here so you can talk quick, while I make you food to eat."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before putting her hands on his face and kissing him softly. "I love you." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, before walking away so that he can go get her mom. Meanwhile, his mom stayed with Gabby for a bit. "I'm sure that it's nothing Gabby." Gabby sighed. "This isn't the first time that my parents have fought though. They're divorced, remember?" Nancy agreed. "Well, here's the good thing. She hasn't killed him yet!" Gabby then started to laugh. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't…" Nancy shook her head, as she meant for it to be a joke. "Gabby, I meant for it to be a joke. Take it easy and relax." Gabby agreed with her mother-in-law as she said that, before watching as she walked away so that she could go help Matt make some food, which he's going to do, while she speaks to her mother about what her father did this time around.
Sitting in bed with her daughter, Camila sighed as she knew that she was worried right now. "Ma, please talk to me and tell me what's going on. I should've realized that something was wrong the moment I saw you here, but for you not to tell me…" Camila sighed as she looked at her daughter, well aware that she should have told her. "It's nothing Mija." Gabby just looked at her mother as she said that. "If it was nothing, then you wouldn't have driven AN HOUR to come here!" Camila sighed, well aware that was the case. "God, I hate that you can hold that over me." Gabby snickered. "Ma, talk to me and let me in. You didn't do it last time around and I am not going to let you do it again." Camila sighed. "I was talking to your dad about maybe trying to find a place closer to you guys." Gabby sighed. "Let me guess, he's still attached to that home?" Camila agreed with her daughter, as that was the case; he wants to stay put.
"He says that he likes the fact that Antonio is right down the street."
Gabby looked her mother as she said that. "I'm sorry, what! So, he'd rather by Antonio, than by his four grandchildren!" Camila sighed. "He doesn't think you would let us see them, due to the pandemic." Gabby laughed as she heard her mother say that. "I swear, my father is an idiot! Remind me why you gave him a second chance?" Camila sighed. "Because I thought he changed, and that he wouldn't do it to me again. Blindside me." Gabby agreed. "I'm sorry mom, but I felt horrible for you that night. I mean, what guy does that!" Camila snickered, agreeing with her daughter as she said that; as that was exactly what she was thinking, and will always think when she thinks back to that day. "And he also wants to get married again." Gabby was shocked. "OK. I think that's way too much. Sorry, but I love that you guys are back together; not ready for you to get married before Antonio does!" Camila smiled.
After which, she had to turn into the proud mom. "God, as much as I love that you're married to Matt. I mean, my daughter-in-law; the scientist who is working on COVID vaccines!" Gabby agreed with her mom as she said that, well aware that she's going to be the child-in-law that she brags about the most. "Trust me mom, I'm going to be bragging that I'm her sister-in-law…more than I am Antonio's sister. Oh, and by the way; did I tell you what happened at the bar recently?" Camila looked at her daughter. "You mean with Bitchie?" Gabby was shocked. "How do you know…." Camila laughed. "Honey, I can hear you talk to your friends sometimes!" Gabby agreed. "OK. I am still ticked. I mean, she says that she wanted to try and break us up; so that she can sleep with him. I'm like, you assault his wife; and you expect him to want to be with you!" Camila agreed. "By the way, still not happy you didn't tell me." Gabby agreed.
After which, she took a breath and thought back to how she also didn't tell Matt, who just came back into the room. "For what it's worth Camila, she didn't tell me either." Camila just looked at her daughter as she heard Matt say that, before sighing. "Gabby, your husband." Matt then sighed once more. "Camila, this is not your place; and we have already spoken about it a long time ago. So please do not go ahead and talk about it again, when we've already dealt with it." Camila agreed with her son-in-law as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Of course, Matt, I'm sorry." Matt agreed with Camila, while watching her get up and make her way over to him; hugging her afterwards, Matt smiled as he kissed her cheek. "Thanks for your help with the boys." Camila agreed., "It's okay. I need to be away from Ramon." Matt was confused as he heard Camila say that.
"What did my idiot father-in-law do now?"
Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, as her father most certainly is an idiot. "Well, if that isn't the most appropriate question in the entire world." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, smiling at her; that was, until Camila spoke up. "Listen, I'll let you guys have some time alone. Gabby can fill you in on what's going on. And just take it easy, we have the kids for as long as you want us to take care of them; I can see that you guys need a bit of time." Matt agreed with Camila, before hugging her; he then went ahead and whispered into her ear. "My advice on Ramon? You're better without him." Smiling as she heard Matt say that, Camila put her hand on his cheek and then proceeded to walk away so that she can go take care of her grandchildren. Closing the door behind her, Camila made sure that Matt and Gabby got the alone time that they needed, while Gabby turned to look at her husband this morning.
"What did you say to my mom?"
Matt sighed as he looked at Gabby. "Here, let me give you the food; then I'll get undressed, and cuddle up to you." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that was exactly what she wanted him to do. She wanted him to give her the food, and then get undressed. That way, they can cuddle as they talk about what her father did to her mother.
Walking out of the bathroom clad in nothing but his boxers this morning, Matt smiled as he folded up his sweats while making his way over to his dresser; while at the same time, he turned his head to see Gabby in bed wearing something very sexy after getting undressed. "Hot mama. Daddy likey!" Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, well aware that he likes it when she wears lingerie for him, which is the reason why she's wearing lingerie for him right now. "Why do you think I'm wearing lingerie for you?" Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, while making his way over to his wife. "I'm getting in on your side, just to let you know." Gabby agreed with Matt, before slipping over so that she could cuddle up to her man. "I had a feeling that would be the case, as you set our food down on your side of the bed." Matt smiled as he agreed with Gabby, walking over to his beautiful wife in the process.
After which, he sat down next to her and put his hand on her stomach. "How are you feeling?" Moving her hand on top of his, Gabby smiled. "Comfortable. Sorry we don't have the kids with us right now." Moving his hand to Gabby's neck, Matt shook his head as he was more than okay with it just being the two of them in bed right now as she wasn't feeling good. "Hey, you weren't feeling good out there. And that means that you needed some time where it was just the two of us, which I am more than okay with babe." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, glad that was the case. After which, she watched as he bent down and kissed her softly. "Plus, I kind of like they idea of some time alone with my beautiful wife on my birthday." Gabby agreed with Matt. "I think it's just…I think I need to talk and take it easy with you. As much as I want the kids, we've…" Matt agreed. "We've been through a lot." Gabby sighed.
After all, she felt horrible that this was all happening on his birthday. "I'm just sorry that this is happening on your birthday." Matt shook his head, as that was the least of his concerns. "Gabby, that's the least of my concerns. I don't care if it's my birthday, as long as you're okay. And right now, I can clearly see that you aren't okay; and that you have a lot on your mind, which you need to talk to me about just as husband-and-wife." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that's exactly what she needs to do. "There are just things that I'm not comfortable talking about with the kids nearby. And I know, that's completely irrational since they can't understand but…" Matt shook his head, as it wasn't irrational, which is something that Andy agreed with Matt about as he climbed onto their bed, as he wants Gabby to relax. "Babe, it's not irrational, it's completely understandable." Gabby agreed with Matt as she looked up at him.
"Can we eat our snack, and then maybe really talk about what this all means? As husband-and-wife?"
Matt agreed with Gabby, as that most certainly is something that they can; and in fact, will do when they're done eating their snack. And he showed her as much, as he bent down and proceeded to kiss her softly. "Yes." Moving her hand to Matt's cheek, Gabby smiled as she kissed him. "Listen, come join me in bed and we can eat. Then we can talk." Matt agreed with Gabby as he got up, before climbing into bed with her so that they could eat their snack; ahead of the two of them talking today.
