These are but tiny 100-word snippets of their lives, told one a day, every day, in 2023. Newest chapter: Mina Ashido is a vivacious hero in training. 80. Gantetsu

A.N. — Four out of the next five chapters will cover heroes or hero students, so this drabble offers a chance to veer away from that path. Neither hero or villain, today's character is just a civilian. An old one, set in his ways.

80. Gantetsu

Gantetsu trained in the culinary arts the way today's kids trained their bodies for rigorous hero work. He had decades of experience, and it was becoming clear that few if any of the younger generation were going to match up to his exacting standards.

But a wayward team-up mission that delivered four hero students who were willing to learn tested that notion.

Sure, heroes were in vogue now, but being a chef was a profession that never went out of style. It was just inconvenient for Gantestu that his restaurant shared its name with the Obstinate Hero's nearby agency.
