"How come St. Patrick's Day is such a big deal over here when none of the other British national saints' days get celebrated?" Ryo murmured, frowning at his desk calendar.

"Where'd that come from?" Dee looked across at his partner.

Ryo turned his frown on Dee. "I picked it up when we were England last summer, don't you remember? You were with me when I bought it."

"No, I mean where'd the question come from?"

"Oh!" Understanding dawned on Ryo. "Sorry, I didn't realise I'd spoken aloud. It's just, my calendar says today is St. David's Day, national saint of Wales, and as far as I know, nobody here celebrates it. But come St. Patrick's Day, everyone will be wearing green, getting drunk on green beer, watching the parade… Why is that?"

"Probably because there're almost as many Irish people in America as there are in Ireland, a lot of them descendents of Irish immigrants. I guess fewer people emigrated here from Wales."

"Mm, I suppose."

"So how d'you think the Welsh celebrate?"

"I have no idea, but I guess they're not as rowdy as the Irish, otherwise I'm sure we would've heard about St. David's Day long before now."
