A.N. — I had no idea who I was doing today, as my attention was mostly on another story of mine. So I picked someone I feel I have a good grasp on. Tomorrow, it's back to birthdays... though it's not the mid-April one I'm really looking forward to.

103. Mr. Shimano (Mahoro and Katsuma's father)

It pains Shimano, being away from his kids. Nabu Island was isolated and not built up, necessitating many business trips. It was a quiet hurt that Shimano bore without complaint, because his actions were necessary. He knew Katsuma and Mahoro still loved him, even if they didn't always understand his lengthy absences.

Getting his quirk ripped out by a madman, though, was a new kind of ache. It didn't take a genius to figure out he'd been targeted for a reason. And, if that was the case, Katsuma was in danger too. That fear was the worst type of agony.
