A.N. — A begrudging happy birthday to Katsuki Bakugo, one of my least favorite BnHA characters. As someone who was bullied for most of his school life, I cannot abide Bakugo's actions. His redemption comes across as ungenuine, and at the author's convenience. He's a true villain's hero, an "abusive egotist" (actual quote from Ultra Analysis) who's wasting his supposed genius.
110. Katsuki Bakugo/Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight
Nothing was going to stand in Bakugo's way — not decorum, nor people's perceptions of him, and least of all Deku. So what if the nerd had All Might's quirk now? Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight was still gonna be Number One, and fuck anyone who thought otherwise.
1-A had been uniquely prepared for this war they found themselves at the center of, but Bakugo had been dreaming of big battles his entire life. Stepping into the breech was just a culmination of his origin story, no less than he was due.
So why, then, did Bakugo still feel so unfulfilled?
A.N. 2 — Why is Bakugo's birthday when it is? You can't tell me Horikoshi didn't know the connotations when picking April 20th for the unsympathetic hero to be born. I'm not gonna explicitly say who I'm comparing Mr. Explody to, but it should be pretty obvious.
