Chapter 25: Fracture
The next day, Yang and Kanan's room, 22nd April 16 BBY, 8:30 am…
Kanan awoke to the gentle noise that was Yang's breathing. Glancing over, Kanan smiled as he beheld his beautiful girlfriend cuddled up against him, head on Kanan's chest. Leaning in, Kanan gently pressed his lips to the top of Yang's head, starting to gently stroke the golden hair he loved so much.
A gentle mewl escaped Yang as she slowly stirred, and her head lifted off of Kanan's chest and faced him as her eyes opened, revealing the beautiful lilac eyes that Kanan never tired of getting himself lost in. "Morning, tiger." Yang said softly.
"Morning Yang." Kanan replied gently. "Sleep well?"
"You know I did." Yang responded as she straddled Kanan and leaned back, the covers falling back to reveal more of Yang's body, clad though it was in her typical sleepwear of a tank top and shorts.
Kanan smiled as he sat up, his hands gently resting on Yang's hips.
Yang's hands came up onto Kanan's shoulders, before her arms snaked around his neck and she leaned in.
Wrapping his arms around Yang's waist, Kanan reciprocated as their lips met in their first kiss of the day. The first of many; that was for certain.
Breaking the kiss, Yang asked: "Anything on the agenda today?"
"Not really." Kanan responded. "Though I am gonna try and talk to Blake at some point. She didn't look well yesterday morning. Nathan assured me that she was okay, but I want to hear it from her. Just in case."
Yang nodded. "Anything else?"
"Nah. Besides… we've not really had much time together since your little rescue mission three weeks ago…" Kanan responded, his hands moving down to Yang's buttocks. "So… maybe we can remedy that today…" He added, giving Yang's butt a squeeze.
A gasp escaped Yang, who gave her boyfriend a coy little grin. "Consider it done, handsome…" Yang cooed as she leaned in, claiming her boyfriend's lips in a soft, passionate kiss.
Reaching up, Kanan pulled Yang closer as he deepened the kiss, one hand moving to Yang's front and preparing to slip under her top whilst his other once more clamped down on Yang's backside, staying there firmly as their kiss grew even more heated.
BLEURGH!
Kanan and Yang immediately stopped as they registered the sound of vomiting.
Kanan listened closely, realising the noise was coming from Blake's room. Jumping up and out of bed, Yang in close pursuit, he rushed to the room shared by his younger sister and Nathan, knocking on the door frantically.
The door was quickly opened by Nathan, whose first words were:
"Well; guess my room wasn't soundproofed like the others were."
"Where's Blake? Is she okay?" Yang asked.
"Yeah." Nathan replied. "Think it might be some kind of bug she's got."
"You sure it's just some kind of bug?" Kanan asked. "This is the second morning in a row this has happened."
"It's either that or Ren's suffered another lapse in cooking." Nathan reasoned.
Only to then have an egg smashed over his head.
"Not cool, Ren." Nathan commented to Team JNNPR's resident ninja, who walked off wordlessly with the crate of eggs he was carrying to the kitchen.
A snort from Yang drew Nathan's attention; and he said:
"Anyways; you head on in. Blake did say she wanted to speak to you this morning."
Yang nodded and headed into the bathroom.
Kanan made to follow, but found himself held back by an unseen barricade.
"I only said Yang, Kanan." Nathan said politely.
"Look… I just want my sister to be okay, Nathan. You do understand that, don't you?" Kanan replied.
"I do, Kanan." Nathan responded. "I just don't want you tearing your hair out over something as minor as this."
"The way things are looking, I doubt this is anything minor." Kanan countered. "Just let me in, Nathan."
Nathan frowned, but prepared to step back to allow Kanan inside.
Kanan smiled, and made to step through when suddenly:
"Hey Kanan; your mother's just called. Said she wanted to talk to you."
Kanan looked, and nodded to Jason before looking back at Nathan.
Nathan didn't meet Kanan's gaze, instead saying: "Your mom's waiting, Kanan. We can discuss this later."
Kanan scowled, and turned to walk away. He wasn't one to make assumptions, but he had a funny feeling Nathan knew exactly what was wrong with Blake; but was reluctant to tell him to his face.
That just made Kanan all the more determined to find out.
Later that day, 11:30 am…
Finally, Kanan had a chance to talk with Blake.
"Blake!" He called out as he approached his younger sister, currently talking with Pyrrha though she was.
"Oh, morning Kanan." Blake said jovially, smiling at her brother's appearance before looking to Pyrrha. "We'll talk more later." She said to the former tournament champion as the latter left. Turning to Kanan, she said: "Haven't seen you all day."
"Sorry. Been busy doing admin my mother asked me to do." Kanan replied. "Laying down the groundwork for an entire army's arrival isn't exactly a cakewalk."
Blake nodded. "No need to tell me. Adam used to leave all that to me anyway. 'Administration is your job. Mine is leading us to victory,' he'd always say."
Kanan had to allow himself a warm smile at how casually Blake was able to mention her abusive ex-boyfriend now. "And what about Nathan?" He decided to ask.
"Nothing of the sort." Blake replied. "Probably because he knows that the last time he really upset me; he wound up tied to the bed naked whilst I rode him to the point I'd drained his balls dry. Might be an idea I suggest to Yang."
"Please don't." Kanan asked. "Look; can we talk? I've been meaning to all morning but haven't been afforded the chance to."
Blake nodded, and together, they headed to the balcony, seeing Haven Academy spread out before them.
"So… what did you need to talk to me about?" Blake asked.
Kanan folded his arms. "The past couple mornings; I've noticed you looking a little under the weather. Nathan assures me you're okay, but I'm not convinced, so I thought I'd hear it from you."
A furrow appeared between Blake's eyebrows. "Of course I am, Kanan. Besides; today wasn't as bad as yesterday. So that might mean the worst of… whatever this was is behind me."
"Either that; or your body's starting to give you warning signs you might be pregnant." Kanan pointed out.
Blake's face fell. "Oh." She remarked.
Kanan sighed. "We might as well get some tests for you. That way, we can tell for certain that you're pregnant or not. Judging by the fact this only started happening recently, you're likely only three or so weeks along. So we have plenty of time to look into getting an abort-"
"No." Blake said sharply.
Kanan stopped mid-sentence, momentarily at a loss for words. When words returned to him, he asked: "What do you mean, no?"
"Kanan; you should know why." Blake responded. "I nearly lost Nathan once. And you know I've always wanted to start a family with him. If I were to actually lose him this time… at least he'd die knowing I'm carrying his baby."
"In the middle of a war?" Kanan asked. "Pardon me for saying so Blake; but a soon to be active warzone is no place for a pregnant woman! Especially when that woman is part of the forces soon to enter combat."
"So you'd rather I kill the one chance I might have to enjoy the future I want with Nathan so you're more comfortable with sending me into combat?" Blake asked.
"You'll get other chances, Blake." Kanan countered.
"You don't know that!" Blake fired back. "And don't you dare pretend that you do. We both know a battle can end both ways, and it's the same with Nathan whenever he and the Baron lock horns again!"
"Okay, then." Kanan said. "We wait until after the battle; and then we can look into-"
"I said no, Kanan." Blake interrupted firmly. "And Nathan will say no as well. We both want this baby, if it's even growing inside me now. I know and understand why you're worried; but… I'm not getting an abortion. And that's final."
Kanan sighed. "Then you leave me no choice." He said sadly, stepping forward towards Blake.
Only to find himself reaching through thin air as the clone of Blake vanished before him.
Kanan spun around to find Blake speedwalking into the house. Swearing under his breath, Kanan called out: "Blake, wait!" Before heading inside after her.
Blake refused to stop, and instead started running, vanishing around the corner.
Kanan rushed around that same corner, only to stop as he found Blake with her teammates.
"Oh, hey babe." Yang said with a smile. "You okay? Look like you've been running."
"Yeah." Kanan said gently. "Hey; can you give me and Blake a minute? We've yet to have that talk I told you about this morning."
Yang's face became a frown as she looked to Blake, whose face appeared to be pleading with her not to say yes. "You know what? I think you and I need to talk." She said firmly, grabbing Kanan and dragging him off.
The moment they were out of earshot, Yang spun around on Kanan. "Now, I don't claim to know what you and Blake were talking about to get her that spooked about talking to you; but whatever it is; you need to drop it."
"Yang, you don't understand." Kanan said. "Blake could be-"
"Kanan; I don't want to hear it." Yang snapped. "Blake is my best friend. And as her best friend, not to mention your girlfriend; I'm warning you to back off. For all our sakes."
Kanan scowled, but nodded. "Okay."
Yang nodded. "Good." She then sighed and pulled Kanan into a hug. "Tell me your concerns later. When we're all a little calmer."
Kanan held Yang close, but didn't respond. He couldn't back off. Not now.
With Nathan…
Nathan ignored the feeling something was amiss as he sat down with Jaune in the latter's room, catching the energy drink Jaune tossed his way.
"Been a while since you and I hung out like this." Jaune commented as he opened his own drink, taking a sip from it.
Nathan nodded, sipping from his own drink before responding: "Yeah. Mainly because I've been hanging out with Pyrrha or Ahsoka."
"When you're not making Blake scream your name every night." Jaune replied playfully.
"That too." Nathan conceded.
"Speaking of… is Blake okay?" Jaune asked. "She's not looked good these past couple mornings."
"Yeah; she's fine." Nathan replied. "We think it's just a bug. I was joking that Ren's cooking had something to do with it; but Ren's not found them funny."
"Yeah…" Jaune agreed.
"But enough about me and Blake. How about you and Pyrrha?" Nathan asked. "Feel like I've seen you both everywhere. Usually making out, but that's just me."
A grin crossed the leader of Team JNNPR's face as he replied: "You know what? I'm glad you asked." At that, Jaune reached into his nightstand drawer, pulling out a small box.
Nathan's eyes widened as he realised exactly what it was. "No fucking way…" He remarked.
"Yup…" Jaune said cheerfully. "On our date tonight… I'm going to ask Pyrrha to marry me."
Nathan found himself chuckling as he shook his head. "Fuck the Force, Jaune… that's awesome!" Standing up and hugging Jaune.
"Glad to hear it." Jaune replied. "Gonna do it at a public garden I know Pyrrha really wants to visit. Figured I'd take her there, then give her a memory she and I will never forget."
"Well; fucking go for it, bossman." Nathan exclaimed. "Close the deal. And then you're one step closer to finally seeing Pyrrha's tits."
Jaune chuckled. "Among other parts of her…" He commented.
Nathan snorted. "My only advice is to keep it simple." He remarked. "And also… for the love of the Force, leave the guitar here."
Jaune laughed. "You got it, Nate."
Nathan smiled and hugged his team leader again. All was going well.
Later that day…
"Thanks again for letting me use yours and Blake's bathroom to get ready, Nathan." Pyrrha said as she stepped out of the bathroom, wearing nothing but a towel.
"It's not a problem, Pyrrha." Nathan replied, handing Pyrrha her underwear before turning around to let Pyrrha get dressed. "Besides; not everyday your best friend asks to use your washing facilities in order to get ready for a romantic date with her boyfriend."
Pyrrha giggled. "True. It's a courtesy I will show you should you need it in the future. You can turn around, by the way."
Nathan turned, and smiled at what he saw:
Pyrrha looked beautiful, for lack of a better term. She was wearing a form-fitting red sundress that matched her hair flawlessly, hugging her figure with the help of a black belt around her waist with a bronze buckle.
Over that was a brown suede jacket worn open, and completing her outfit were a pair of black high heeled boots.
"How do I look?" Pyrrha asked, giving Nathan a twirl around in her outfit.
"Every bit the beautiful woman you've always been, Pyrrha." Nathan replied. "Jaune is going to remember how lucky he is the minute he lays eyes on you."
A warm smile crossed Pyrrha's face as she stepped over and hugged Nathan. "Thank you."
"Anytime, Pyrrha." Nathan responded, holding his best friend close.
They stayed that way for a while before breaking the hug, with Nathan inviting Pyrrha to sit on the bed with him.
"I… noticed Blake looking a little worse for wear earlier this morning. The same yesterday. Is she alright?" Pyrrha asked.
Nathan fought the urge to groan, replying: "Yes, Blake is fine. And I would appreciate it if people stopped asking."
"Oh; I'm sorry." Pyrrha said, an apologetic look crossing her face.
"Don't be." Nathan replied. "It's just… first Kanan asked me this morning, then it was Jaune shortly before lunch. I'm just tired of assuring everyone that Blake is okay."
"It is worth noting that these symptoms are only occurring in the morning." Pyrrha said. "Perhaps there is more going on than you are aware."
"What are you saying, Pyrrha?" Nathan asked his close friend curiously.
"Have you ever considered the possibility that Blake might be pregnant?" Pyrrha inquired.
A furrow appeared between Nathan's eyes as he replied: "No… Why would you say that?"
"Early morning sickness is a sign of early pregnancy." Pyrrha answered. "Were you never taught sexual education as part of your training as a Jedi?"
"No. No romantic relationships were allowed, remember?" Nathan responded.
"Ah yes." Pyrrha recalled. "Anyway; I was taught when I was around ten years old. Six years later, a classmate of mine from Sanctum fell pregnant, but hid the signs for as long as she could. Until she went into labour three months early and miscarried in the middle of a sparring match."
"Fuck the Force…" Nathan muttered. "Anyway… if… if Blake is pregnant; would you be okay with it? I mean; a pregnant woman can't exactly fight in battle."
"Nathan; you and Blake are my friends." Pyrrha replied. "Whatever your choice is; I will support you completely. If anyone deserves it; it would be you."
Nathan smiled. "Thanks, Pyrrha." He said, pulling Pyrrha into a warm, loving hug.
They stayed that way for a while before a knock on the door drew their attention.
"That will be Jaune." Pyrrha said, looking at Nathan.
"Enjoy your date, Pyrrha. And may the Force be with you." Nathan said softly, giving Pyrrha one more hug before leading her to the door, opening it and greeting Jaune, leaving them to it.
He wondered if Ahsoka was anywhere nearby. It was about time he made time to spend with her today.
Even if he really wanted to find Blake and talk to her about the now real possibility she was pregnant.
Later, with Ahsoka…
"So you're telling me that Blake could be pregnant?" Ahsoka asked, a surprised look crossing the former Jedi Padawan's face.
"It's what Pyrrha suspects." Nathan replied. "And I've learned to trust Pyrrha's judgement on a lot of things. So if she suspects Blake is pregnant; I'm not going to ignore her."
Ahsoka nodded. "And? Do… do you want this baby? If it's even there."
"Absolutely." Nathan responded. "After what happened at Beacon; Blake didn't want to risk our future together again. So… the night we reunited… we started trying. Three weeks later… looks like our attempt's borne fruit."
"Then why are you so worried I'll be upset with you?" Ahsoka asked. "It's your decision at the end of the day. And besides, none of our masters are about to pop up and tell you off, are they?"
"Yours would be more likely to than mine." Nathan remarked. "Anakin would have had my balls off if he ever found out you were pregnant. Well; mine, and or Lux's. You know; you never quite told me how that date went down with Lux."
A blush formed on the orange cheeks of Ahsoka as she said: "Well…"
Cling!
Nathan's attention turned to his scroll as he called it to his hand via the Force, seeing it was a notification of a message from Pyrrha with a photograph attached.
Glancing at Ahsoka, Nathan opened the message, and a grin immediately formed on his face.
It was a picture of a very emotional Pyrrha cuddled up to Jaune, her left hand on his chest, with her left ring finger now bearing a beautiful looking engagement ring.
"I said yes…" The caption on the picture read, alongside several love-heart emojis and an engagement ring emoji.
"Good job guys…" Nathan remarked softly, looking back at Ahsoka, showing her the message.
"Aww…" Ahsoka said happily, smiling warmly.
"Given the road they've travelled… I'm beyond happy for them." Nathan said. "If anybody deserves happiness; it's-"
"NATHAN!"
Nathan's blood ran cold in his veins at the panicked scream from Blake. Leaping to his feet, Nathan dashed in the direction of the noise, followed closely by Ahsoka. His mind was awash with scenarios, each worse than the last. And he prayed none of them were what he found.
Blake's location…
Bursting around the corner, Nathan was greeted with a very unexpected sight:
Blake; clearly having been cornered, was trying to free herself from the iron grip of her captor.
Nathan only needed to look at the long striped tail to know it was Kanan, even before the man turned to see Nathan there.
Memories of earlier filled Nathan's mind, and he marched towards Kanan with a singular objective:
Protect Blake.
"Nathan, I can ex-" Kanan made to say, before Nathan used the Force to hurl him away from Blake, sending him several paces back.
Positioning himself between Blake and Kanan, Nathan demanded: "What the fuck is going on here, Kanan?! Is this about earlier? I told you Blake was okay!"
"She's not okay and you know it!" Kanan fired back as he stepped closer. "Blake told me what you two are planning; and I'm telling you, you're making a mistake. A mistake that could get us all killed. I'm just trying to stop you making that mistake; and I'm sorry, but the only way I can do that is with an-"
"Not happening." Nathan said firmly. "You of all people should know why, Kanan. You've been with Blake since the day I was nearly killed at Beacon. You've seen the damage that could have been done had I not survived. And I will not destroy my family just because you disapprove."
"Blake is my family too, Nathan. Kanan countered. "And family does right by one another. I'm just trying to do right by Blake."
"That's a fat gob of shit and you know it." Nathan shot back. "If you wanted to do right by Blake; you'd have taken her feelings on the matter into account. You'd have listened to what she had to say; and respected her decision. A decision I made alongside her and will stand by. So I'm telling you right now, Kanan. Respect our decision, and back. Off."
Kanan glared at Nathan, and Nathan glared at Kanan.
Neither man was willing to back down, and it would take a miracle to convince them to.
"Kanan… please." Blake begged from behind Nathan, her tone suggesting tears were forthcoming.
"I won't." Kanan said resolutely. I refuse to respect a decision I disagree with, especially when it comes from someone I thought would see things my way. Because the fact is; either she willingly gets an abortion; or the Empire will do it for her, by ripping it OUT OF HER FUCKING GUT!"
A choked back sob from Blake betrayed her departure, and she turned and ran off.
"HEY!" Kanan bellowed, pushing past Nathan and starting after her. "YOU GET BACK HERE, RIGHT-"
"Stay the fuck away from her!" Nathan snarled from behind Kanan, dragging him back as the larger man turned:
WHAM!
The punch sent Nathan staggering back a few paces, as black spots danced around his field of vision.
Reaching up as he regained his equilibrium, Nathan touched his nose, where the brunt of the punch had landed. Looking down at his finger, Nathan's eyes widened as it came away bloody.
"Oh kriff." Ahsoka's voice murmured from somewhere nearby.
Nathan's focus settled firmly on Kanan, as he felt an emotion rise up within him he'd not felt since the dark days trapped in Atlas:
Rage.
With a bloodcurdling howl, Nathan hurled himself at Kanan, driving his shoulder into the larger man's gut as they came barrelling into the lounge, where a large crowd had gathered.
Nathan refused to stop as he felt Kanan meet resistance, the momentum carrying them both over the obstacle, and led to them crashing through what Nathan assumed was the coffee table.
Scrambling to his feet, Nathan rushed towards Kanan, only for the big man to kick him back as the tiger faunus got to his feet, lashing out with a right hook.
Catching Kanan's punch, Nathan countered with a vicious right hook that caught Kanan flush across the nose, feeling it break under the following two punches that he struck Kanan with before the larger man caught and trapped both of Nathan's arms.
Nathan felt himself leave his feet as Kanan hurled him up and over his head, hitting the floor with a grunt as the breath was driven from his lungs.
Kanan was on top of him within moments, pinning Nathan down as he rained punches down onto Nathan.
Until suddenly, a pair of arms grabbed Kanan from behind and dragged him off of Nathan.
"That's enough, you two!"
Jason's voice calmed Nathan down as he reached his feet, preparing to say something.
Only for Kanan to break free of Jason, and with a roar of fury, charge Nathan.
Nathan was acutely aware that the glass window leading to the house's central garden was behind him, but Kanan was too fast, and soon, Nathan felt the breath leave his lungs as Kanan tackled him into the glass behind him.
The force proved too great, and Nathan soon found himself and Kanan crashing through the window and down towards the garden beneath them.
Both men hit the floor with a thunderous thud, and Nathan once more found himself gasping for breath, feeling himself drifting into unconsciousness as he fought to regain his breath.
Seeing Kanan stirring next to him focused Nathan's mind, and ignoring the protests of his lungs, Nathan rose to meet his girlfriend's brother.
With Jason…
This was getting out of hand.
Jason had no idea what had driven Nathan and Kanan to suddenly engage in a violent brawl that had currently destroyed their coffee table and now also broken the window leading to the central garden, but he knew that given Blake had ran from the same area in tears, it must have had something to do with her.
Regardless, it needed to stop, and it needed to stop now.
Hence why Jason, followed by Ghost, Qrow, and the clones, now barrelled down the stairs leading towards the entrance to the central garden; where even now; he could hear Nathan and Kanan slugging it out.
Just as he reached the foot of the stairs, the door leading into the central garden flew open as Kanan and Nathan came crashing into the room, Kanan seemingly having Nathan wrapped up in a rear naked choke.
However, Nathan seemingly freed himself, and mounted Kanan, using his position to piston right hook after right hook into Kanan's face.
"Nathan!" Jason shouted, closing in with the others. "Stop this, now!"
But as they drew close, Nathan used the Force to hurl them back.
This only allowed Kanan to seize the advantage, headbutting Nathan in the face and knocking him off, allowing Kanan to get back up as well.
The two once more met in the space between them, trading blows like a pair of apex predators doing battle.
"We have to stop them!" Qrow shouted.
"I don't think we can…" Captain Rex of the clones mused.
"At this rate… I think all we can do is wait for one to beat the other." Ghost remarked.
"I second that." Captain Blaze added.
"I'll get my medical bay ready." Fix said as he started heading upstairs.
With Nathan…
Nathan hadn't wanted to stop the others from breaking the fight up.
But he knew now that Kanan would only try taking Blake away again; and so had to be prevented from doing so.
Violently.
Ducking a haymaker from Kanan, Nathan countered with a kick to Kanan's left hamstring, following that up with a right hook to Kanan's jaw, jumping up and driving his left knee into Kanan's face before stepping back and kicking Kanan twice, once in the gut to double Kanan over, and a second time to Kanan's face.
The tiger faunus staggered back, then lunged forwards with a clumsy right hook.
Nathan ducked, using the move to sweep Kanan's legs out from underneath him, causing his girlfriend's older brother to fall flat on his face.
Nathan refused to let up there, dashing forwards and wrapping his arms around Kanan's throat, locking in a rear naked choke.
The larger man managed to force himself to his feet, and hurl Nathan off of him with a judo-throw.
Nathan was on his feet immediately, and charged Kanan at full speed, driving a knee stiffly into Kanan's face before grabbing both of Kanan's arms and driving another, even stiffer knee into Kanan's face, knocking the tiger faunus onto his back.
Rolling Kanan onto his front, Nathan mounted him, and rolled onto his back with Kanan on top of him, locking in another rear naked choke.
Somehow, Kanan still managed to lift himself up to one knee.
At which Nathan released the hold once more, trapped one of Kanan's arms, and began driving elbow after elbow straight into Kanan's temple, until he once more locked in the rear naked choke, grape-vining Kanan's torso with his legs to ensure there was less chance of escape, screaming as he squeezed the consciousness out of Kanan piece by piece.
Until finally, he heard a gurgle as Kanan finally slipped into unconsciousness, and finally relinquished his hold, pushing Kanan off him as he sat up, groaning as the adrenaline wore off and pain began to set in.
"Nathan?"
Nathan looked to see Jason cautiously approaching him.
"What happened to start all that?" Jason asked.
"No time to explain right now." Nathan said, getting up. "Now if you'll excuse me; I have a girlfriend to comfort." At that, he staggered off to his and Blake's room.
Nathan and Blake's room…
Nathan could hear the crying as he approached, tentatively stopping outside the door as he softly said: "Blake?"
The sobbing stopped, replaced by rapidly loudening sniffles as the door swung open, revealing Blake.
Her eyes were red and puffy, and tearstains coated her cheeks.
Nathan sighed and said: "I… I'm sorry I lost control like that on Kanan, Blake. I shouldn't have reacted so violently. I don't have any excuses for it, and-"
Blake silenced him by dragging Nathan into a hug, burying her head into his shoulder.
Nathan gently wrapped his arms around Blake, letting her quietly shake with emotion. Gently stepping into the room with her, Nathan closed the door behind them and led Blake to their bed, laying down with her as she immediately cuddled up to him.
"Is… is Kanan okay?" Blake asked after a long time.
"Yes. But he won't be harassing either of us anytime soon." Nathan replied.
A few seconds passed, before Nathan asked:
"Blake… are… are you pregnant?"
Blake sniffled and met Nathan's gaze, saying: "I… I don't know… but I think I might be."
Nathan smiled and said: "Then tomorrow… we'll get some tests. Find out for sure. Together."
Blake smiled gently, nodding. "For now though… just hold me, okay? I… I don't feel safe right now without you around."
Nathan gently held Blake a little tighter at that. He loved Blake more than anything in the world, and their provisional unborn child just as much.
Anyone who meant them harm would suffer the fury only a Jedi could visit upon them.
I feel like I've severely overestimated my abilities to keep to a schedule.
As such, I will be switching to one chapter a week starting tonight, to be released on either Saturday or Sunday.
Regardless; that escalated quickly.
And now Kanan is more than likely on everyone's shit list. Especially Nathan, Blake and Yang's. God help him.
Anyway; let's answer some reviews!
Sharnorasian Empire: It seems Kanan shares your sentiments, but went about it the complete wrong way. I'm not sure how you would go about discussing it; nor will I dare assume how, lest I have the wrath of your empire unleashed upon me. But I'm glad you see Nathan and Blake's side of the argument here. This storyline will be the biggest risk I take with the story, and I'm happy to have you along for the ride I hope to take you and other readers on.
That said; thank you all so much for reading the chapter. If you liked it; y'all know what to do.
I shall see you next week with the next chapter, which will see the consequences of Kanan's actions become all too clear.
T-Rock14.
