A.N. — May is the month of the first internship arc, so there's gonna be a fair few heroes and sidekicks highlighted this month because of that. Gunhead was the first; now it's a sidekick's turn. The rest of this guy's crewmates will show up in a couple weeks.

The sea was a calling; heroics was just the vessel Mick chose to navigate it.

The American had shipped out as soon as he heard Selkie was gathering a crew of like-minded people. It didn't matter that it was halfway around the globe or that he didn't speak Japanese — those with sea salt suffusing their souls just understood each other.

When he arrived, Mick found a second home.

The Oki Mariner was a small ship, with a small crew. But this tight-knit little unit made Mick feel like more than a sidekick. He was captaining his own journey.
